Ronald Hanko

Ronald Hanko (N/A–) is an American preacher and pastor whose ministry has spanned over four decades within the Protestant Reformed Churches in America (PRCA), emphasizing Reformed theology and biblical preaching. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Herman Hanko, a PRC minister and seminary professor, and Wilma Knoper, he grew up immersed in the church, moving to Doon, Iowa, at age nine when his father took a pastoral call there in 1963. After attending Calvin College and Grand Valley State University, he trained at the Protestant Reformed Seminary, where his father taught. Ordained in November 1979, Hanko married Nancy Cammenga in 1975, and they have eight children. Hanko’s preaching career began at Covenant PRC in Wyckoff, New Jersey (1979–1986), followed by Trinity PRC in Houston, Texas (1986–1993), and a missionary stint in Northern Ireland (1993–2002), where he pastored the Covenant PRC in Ballymena. In 2002, he accepted a call to Lynden PRC in Washington, serving until his retirement as Minister Emeritus on October 15, 2017. Known for his expository sermons, he has authored books like Doctrine According to Godliness and The Coming of Zion’s Redeemer, reflecting his focus on Calvinism and eschatology. Now a member of Covenant of Grace PRC in Spokane, Hanko’s legacy lies in his steadfast commitment to preaching God’s sovereignty and grace across continents.
