Keith Daniel

Keith Daniel (1946 - 2021). South African evangelist and Bible teacher born in Cape Town to Jack, a businessman and World War II veteran, and Maud. Raised in a troubled home marked by his father’s alcoholism, he ran away as a teen, facing family strife until his brother Dudley’s conversion in the 1960s sparked his own at 20. Called to ministry soon after, he studied at Glenvar Bible College, memorizing vast Scripture passages, a hallmark of his preaching. Joining the African Evangelistic Band, he traveled across South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and made over 20 North American tours, speaking at churches, schools, and IBLP Family Conferences. Daniel’s sermons, like his recitation of the Sermon on the Mount, emphasized holiness, repentance, and Scripture’s authority. Married to Jenny le Roux in 1978, a godly woman 12 years his junior, they had children, including Roy, and ministered together. He authored no books but recorded 200 video sermons, now shared online. His uncompromising style, blending conviction and empathy, influenced thousands globally.

Sermon Transcription
Can we have a short moment of prayer, please? Father, in mercy on all of us, we ask that Thou would now wash me in the blood of Jesus Christ, that cleanseth us from all sin. I do pray, God, that in mercy, because of the blood, Thou would see in this base an unworthy man, a vessel meet for the Master's use. Fill me now with Thy Holy Spirit, giving unction and anointing. Come, protect us from our only enemy, Satan. Rebuke Thou Thyself, this evil being, the enemy of the souls of men, the archenemy of God. Rebuke Thou Thyself, him away, and all his forces, and protect us. Protect us, God, by the risen, resurrected power of Christ, the Holy Spirit, the angels of God, in Thy mercy. Come now, and take Thy word, and speak to all of our hearts. As only God can speak, the letter killeth. Man is worthless with this book, without God. The Spirit giveth life. Give life to this holy book, the book Thou hast promised. Let us honor above all things Thy word. Thou hast honored above all things. So come and honor and glorify Thy name, here tonight, by the workings of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, through this holy book, the Bible. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus, the Christ. And for His glory only. Amen. Tonight, I would like to speak on the greatest single tragedy this world faces today. I would like to speak on the greatest single tragedy this world faces today. Compromising Christianity. Compromising Christianity. And oh, that every Christian in this building, every Christian in this building would cry from their inner being, right now, at the outset of the sermon, Search me. Search me. Oh God, and know my heart. Know my heart. Try me. And know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me. And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139, verse 23 and 24. Search me, oh God. And know my heart. For if our heart, if our heart condemn us, if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart. God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 1 John 3, verse 20. Christian, if your heart condemns your life, if your heart condemns your life, Then I implore you, I implore you here tonight to sow to yourselves in righteousness. Reap in mercy. Break up your fellow ground. Break up your fellow ground. For it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Hosea 10, verse 12. Sow to yourselves in righteousness. Reap in mercy. Do what God requires from you tonight, young man. Break up your fellow ground, that hardened crust. That hardened crust of earth that somehow has formed over the fertile soil of your hearts. Tragically enabling you to tolerate and to accept a life of shameful compromise. Break up, break up your fellow ground. But how, you may ask, how? Oh, I believe that fellow ground, that hardened crust, will break up in moments here tonight. But only if you, only if you expose your heart carefully and prayerfully to the unadulterated, uncompromising standard of this holy book once again. Is not my word like as a fire, saith the Lord, and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Jeremiah 23, verse 29. For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4, verse 12. Come Christian, expose your heart carefully and prayerfully, carefully and prayerfully here tonight to what this holy book declares. When a Christian lives in a shameful, tragic state of continual compromise, when a Christian lives in a tragic state of continual compromise, expose your heart, expose your heart carefully, prayerfully. Firstly, to what this holy book declares when a Christian continually fails God, continually fails God with his eyes. When does a Christian fail God with his eyes according to this book? In 2 Samuel 11, verse 1, we read that Israel went to war, but David tarried still at Jerusalem. And it came to pass in the even tide that David arose from off his bed and walked upon the roof of the king's house. And from the roof he saw a woman washing herself. And the woman was very beautiful to look upon. And David sent and inquired after the woman. Now beloved, you may believe that David later tragically went on to commit adultery with her. But Jesus said in Matthew 5, verse 28, that whosoever looketh, whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her. Already in his heart, that first look was not David's fault. But the second look was. That second look was, in this world, the devil will place many things before us that we did not choose or want to behold. But it is our choice if we look again. It is our choice to keep on looking. In James, chapter 1, verse 14, we read that every man is tempted. Every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lusts and entices. Then, when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin. When lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin. Temptation is not sin, beloved. But that second look is, brother. That second look is, sister. And Galatians 5, verse 9 warns that a little leaven, a little leaven, leaveneth the whole lump, as it tragically did with David's whole life, and will with yours. Don't doubt it. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Exodus 20, verse 14. But this verse in God's Ten Commandments is strangely linked to verse 17. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house. But it doesn't end there. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife also, David. This holy book condemns men having eyes full of adultery. Men having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin. That cannot cease from sin. 2 Peter 2, verse 14. But oh, if a Christian, if a Christian continually fails God with his eyes, that is tragic, beloved. That is tragic, beloved. I made a covenant with mine eyes. I made a covenant with mine eyes. Why then should I think upon a maid? Why then should I look upon a young woman? Job 31, verse 1. I as a married man, I as a married man came to a place in my life where I made a covenant with mine eyes. Not to look the second look. Not to look that second look at what I know the devil will continually place before me in this life. I, like Daniel, young Daniel, who purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the king's meat. He made a calculated choice, a moment where he chose, where he purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself in God's eyes by going against the known law of God, the will of God. He would not defile himself in God's eyes by breaking God's commandments and going against God's known will, deliberately. So I, I also, Job says, I made a covenant with my eyes. I came to a place in my life where I had to make a calculated decision that I was capable of. I purposed in my heart. I made a covenant with mine eyes, not to look that second look at what I know will defile me in God's eyes and defy God deliberately of my own choice. In Romans chapter 6 verse 11, Paul writes to all Christians, likewise, likewise, reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin. Likewise, reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it and the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Even your eyes, brother, even your eyes, sister, that godly old woman shared with me when her godly old husband died. For when they were first married as a young married couple, she began to be fearful, married to him. She became fearful because of his eyes in front of her. Men forget everything if they live for sin. Even if their wife and children are watching, brother, you'll be astonished what they'll see if you live for sin. She felt betrayed by his eyes as they followed a woman in front of her. She felt defiled by his eyes. But then she said, Keith, Christ stepped in and saved his soul as a young married man. And from that day, Keith, to the day he died as an old man, I never once saw him betray me with his eyes again. That's Christ's salvation, Keith, if you'll have it. Jesus didn't come to save his people in their sins. He came to save his people from their sins. If you'll have it, brother, or will you call that heresy? And the reason you'll call it heresy is because you want sin and won't accept Christ can set you free and free indeed. But oh, if a Christian, if you fail God with your eyes, if you continually fail God with your eyes, then I implore you tonight to sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy, break up your fellow ground. For it is time to seek the Lord till he come and reign righteousness upon you. It is time to seek the Lord, brother. Not just for a moment at the end of this meeting in a short prayer, but till he come and reign righteousness upon you. I will not let thee go except thou bless me. Till he come, brother, till he come, sister, it's time for you to seek the Lord. And I implore you tonight to do it. When a Christian continually fails God, firstly, with his eyes, but secondly, with his thoughts, with his thoughts. Men of corrupt minds, men of corrupt minds. 2 Timothy 3 verse 8. Men of corrupt minds. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind. To do those things which are not convenient. Romans 1 verse 28. Fulfilling, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and mind. Ephesians 2 verse 3. For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23 verse 7. As he thinketh in his heart, so is he. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts. Matthew 15 verse 19. And heart that deviseth wicked imaginations. And heart that deviseth wicked imaginations. Feet that be swift in running to evil. Proverbs 6 verse 18. Their feet run to evil. Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity. Isaiah 59 verse 7. For as he thinketh in his heart, God says, so is he. What you think, brother, you are. Don't play the fool with God's word warning. Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds. When the morning is light, they practice it. Micah 2 verse 1. You see, God says, as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Don't doubt what God is saying here. What are you filling the reservoirs of your heart with, brother? As he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Let the wicked forsake his way. And the unrighteous man, his thoughts. Isaiah 55 verse 7. Why does God say that? It's literally, let the wicked forsake his way. The unrighteous man, his thoughts. It's not two people here. Your thoughts determine your life. Your thoughts determine your action. To forsake evil, stop these evil thoughts, God says. Let the wicked forsake his way. Do you think God will command you to do something you can't? Is he that unrighteous? Let the wicked forsake his way. The unrighteous man, his thoughts. Isaiah 55 verse 7. And bringing into captivity. Bringing into captivity every thought. Every thought to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10 verse 5. And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12 verse 2. Finally, brethren. Whatsoever things are true. Whatsoever things are honest. Whatsoever things are just. Whatsoever things are pure. Whatsoever things are lovely. Whatsoever things are good report. Think on these things. Whatsoever things are true, brother, sister. Think of it when you listen to music, young man. Think of it when you watch a video or a book or pick up a magazine. Think of it, what God says and what you're doing, knowing what God wants. And what the consequences will be, according to his word. Whatsoever things are true. Whatsoever things are honest. Whatsoever things are just. Whatsoever things are pure. Whatsoever things are lovely. Whatsoever things are good report. If there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things. Literally, allow your minds to be occupied with such things. Philippians 4 verse 8. When a Christian continually fails God. Firstly, with his eyes. Secondly, with his thoughts. But thirdly, with his lips. With his lips. When does a Christian fail God? With his lips, according to this book. When does a Christian fail God? With his lips, according to this book, brother. Firstly, with lies. Lies? A Christian? Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Exodus 20 verse 16. A hypocrite, a hypocrite with his mouth, destroyeth his neighbor. Proverbs 12 verse 9. So is the tongue, is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. James 3 verse 9. Lying lips, lying lips are abomination to the Lord. Proverbs 12 verse 22. Lying lips are abomination to the Lord. But these lips can lie in other evil ways, Christian. These lips can lie in prayer. Prayer? When a man's prayers are not meant for God, but to impress others. When a man's prayers are not meant for God, but to impress others. His words rise to heaven as a stench of evil hypocrisy. Hypocrisy. In Matthew 23 verse 14. Christ condemns those who for a pretense, for a pretense make long prayers. And in Matthew 6 verse 5. He warns us. When thou prayest. When thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are. Now that word hypocrite is a tragic word, you know. The original Greek usage of the word. When they used this word hypocrite, do you know what they were talking of? A man acting on a stage. Someone acting on a stage. This is the original meaning of the word. The Greek word. The original usage of the word. Of hypocrites. An actor. And Jesus said when thou prayest. Thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues. And in the corners of the streets that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. They have their reward. Have you ever thought what that means? Nothing from God by the way. No reward from God. Ever in eternity for what they do. Their reward is what they want. Men's esteem. Even religion is an act just to get men's esteem. They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest. Jesus said. Enter into thy closet. The most private place you can find. In your circumstances of life sister. Brother. Young person. Enter into thy closet. And when thou hast shut thy door. To the eyes and the ears of men. God help you if you shut it for the eyes and ears of men. When thou hast shut thy door. Pray to thy father. Which is in secret. And thy father which seeth in secret. Shall reward thee openly. Christ promises. If you are not faithful. In your prayer life when no one is watching. Your public prayers are evil hypocritical lies. If you are not faithful. In your prayer life when no one is watching. Your public prayers are evil. Hypocritical lies. When a Christian continually fails God. With his lips. Firstly with lies. But secondly. With blasphemy. Blasphemy. A Christian. With blasphemy. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God. In vain. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. For the Lord will not hold him guiltless. The Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Exodus 20 verse 7. Neither shalt thou profane the name of the Lord thy God. Leviticus 19 verse 12. Christian. Don't ever use God's name irreverently. Don't ever use God's name irreverently. Or as a swear word or curse word. In exasperation or anger. When a Christian continually fails God. With his lips. Firstly with lies. Secondly with blasphemy. Thirdly. By making oaths. By making oaths. To try and add credibility to what he is saying. In Matthew 5 verse 33. In Matthew 5 verse 33 Jesus said. Again. Again. We have heard that it has been said by them of all time. Thou shalt not forswear thyself. But shall perform unto the Lord thine oaths. But I say unto you swear not at all. Neither by heaven for it is God's throne. Nor by the earth for it is his footstool. Neither by Jerusalem. For it is the city. Of the great king. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head. Because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be yea, yea, nay, nay, yes or no. For whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. We read in James chapter 4 verse 12. But above all things my brethren. Why did James say that? But above all things my brethren. Swear not. Neither by heaven. Neither by the earth. Neither by any other oath. But let your communication be yea, yea, nay, nay. Lest ye fall into condemnation. It is an insult to Christ's name. If a Christian is required to say anything more than yes or no. To be believed. It is an insult to Christ's name. If a Christian is required to say anything more than yes or no. To be believed. When a Christian continually fails God with his lips. Firstly with lies. Secondly with blasphemy. Thirdly by making oaths. Fourthly by using coarse filthy language. By using coarse filthy language. Put off all filthy communication out of your mouth. Put off all filthy communication out of your mouth. 1 Timothy 6 verse 20. Put off all filthy communication out of your mouth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth. Ephesians 4 verse 29. Neither filthiness nor foolish talking. Ephesians 5 verse 4. Beloved, this holy book condemns those whose mouth is full of cursings. Romans 3 verse 14. Defiling, obscene language literally. This holy book condemns those whose mouth is full of cursings. Romans 3 verse 14. But if a Christian continually fails God with his lips by using coarse filthy language. That is shameful. That is shameful brother. That is shameful sister. Shameful. When a Christian continually fails God with his lips. Firstly. With lies. Secondly, with blasphemy. Thirdly, by making oaths. Fourthly, by using coarse filthy language. Fifthly. Fifthly. With murmurings. With murmurings. Murmurings. Murmurings. Do all things without murmurings and disputings. God says. Philippians 2 verse 14. Do all things without murmurings and disputings. But it doesn't end there. That is a statement. Do you want to know the result? Why God says you must do that? The next verse. Verse 15. Philippians 2. That ye may be blameless. And harmless to sons of God without rebuke. Brother. Sister. If you murmur. You will never have this testimony in this earth. Beginning in your house. With your children. That ye may be blameless and harmless. To sons of God without rebuke. In the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. Among whom ye shine as light in the world. Holding forth the word of life. That is not a statement. That's the result of the statement. The statement is. Do all things without murmurings and disputings. That ye may be blameless and harmless. To sons of God without rebuke. And that's possible brother. That's possible sister. In everything. Give thanks. In everything. Give thanks. Not for everything. That would be obnoxious to God. But in spite of anything God allows to come upon you. In your circumstances of life. No matter what happens. God waits and expects this. In everything. Give thanks. For this is the will of God. In Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5. Verse 18. This is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Although the fig tree shall not blossom. Neither shall fruit be in the vine. The labor of the olive shall fail. And the field shall yield no meat. The flock shall be cut off from the foe. And there shall be no herd in the stall. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3. Verse 17 and 18. When everything. When everything was taken from Job. In one devastating tragic moment. When everything was taken from Job. In one devastating tragic moment. His wife. In brokenness and confusion. Turned to him in chapter 2. Verse 9. And she cried. Die. Die. But. He said unto her. Thou. Speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. But. Shall we receive good at the hand of God? And shall we not receive evil? Do we only trust and serve God when everything goes right? If everything goes right? Shall we receive good at the hand of God and shall we not receive evil? In all this. Did not Job sin with his lips? Hallelujah. It's possible brother. If he could. I can. By him therefore. By Jesus. Our high priest brother. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise. The sacrifice of praise to God. Continually. It's easy to praise you know. The most shallow superficial unsaved person on earth can praise God. If everything goes right. You can shout hallelujah all the time. But he was real. And God drives as you are when things go wrong. But you can still. There's a sacrifice. When it's not just. Oh everything's heaven on earth. By him therefore. Let us offer the sacrifice of praise. To God continually. Continually. That is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Hebrews 13 verse 15. I. Will. Offer to thee. The sacrifice. Of thanksgiving. I. From tonight. God. I repent God. Of what grieves me. I will offer to thee. The Lord was grieved with his people. Because they served him with a heavy heart. And not with thankfulness. Is he grieved with you? Because things aren't perfect? What are you a perfect murmurer? Or a perfect worshiper? Answer God now. If you're honest. If you want to be honest. In this convention. With God that is. I will offer to thee. The sacrifice of thanksgiving. Psalm 114 verse 70. When a Christian. Continually fails God with his lips. Firstly. With lies. Secondly. With blasphemy. Thirdly. By making oaths. Fourthly by using coarse filthy language. Fifthly. With murmurings. With murmurings. Sixthly. With whisperings. With whispering. Speak not evil one of another brethren. Speak not evil one of another brethren. James 4 verse 11. He that uttereth a slander. He that uttereth a slander. Is. A fool. A fool. A fool. Proverbs 10 verse 18. A whisperer. A whisperer. A whisperer separateth sheathed friends. Proverbs 16 verse 28. Proverbs 14 verse 28. 14 verse 28. Where no wood is. There. The fire. Goeth out. Show where there is no tale bearer. Now that is a Hebrew word that says literally. Whisperer. The strife ceaseth. If there is strife in you. Congregation. Or where you are with others. Assembly. There's a whisperer. No stop. A fool God says. He that uttereth a slander is a fool. Where no wood is. There. The fire goeth out. So where there is no tale bearer. The strife ceaseth. Proverbs 19 verse 11. When a Christian continually fails God. Continually fails God with his lips. Firstly with lies. Secondly with blasphemy. Thirdly by making oaths. Fourthly. By using coarse filthy language. Fifthly. With murmurings. Murmurings. Sixthly. With whisperings. Whisperings. Seventhly. With endless babbling. Endless babbling. Avoiding vain babblings. Empty talk. Empty talk. 1 Timothy 6 verse 20. But some vain babblings. Worthless talk. For they will increase unto more ungodliness. They will increase unto more ungodliness. 2 Timothy. 2 verse 16. In the multitude of words. There wanteth not sin. There lacketh not sin. You can be sure of it. In the multitude of words. There wanteth not sin. Proverbs 10 verse 19. But he that refrains his lips is wise. Proverbs 10 verse 19. In the multitude of words. There wanteth not sin. There lacketh no sin. There lacketh not sin. Suffer not thy mouth. To cause thy flesh to sin. Ecclesiastes 5 verse 6. So is the tongue among our members that it defileth the whole body. And setteth on fire the course of nature. James 3 verse 6. In the multitude of words. There wanteth not sin. A fool. A fool. Also is full of words. Ecclesiastes 10 verse 14. A fool. Uttereth all his mind. A fool uttereth all his mind. Proverbs 29 verse 11. A fool's mouth. Is his destruction. Proverbs 18 verse 7. He that hath knowledge. Spareth his words. Proverbs 18 verse 27. Even a fool. If he holdeth his peace. Is counted as wise. Even a fool. If he holdeth his peace. Is counted as wise. And he that shutteth his lips. Is esteemed a man of understanding. Proverbs 17 verse 28. But in closing this point. I want you to listen very carefully now beloved. To what God. Says here. Is these verses. Stagger my heart. A man. Hath joy. If his children are perfect. A man hath joy. If his wife. Is a slave. A man hath joy. If. He's got a good job. Good money. Prospers. Is healthy. A man hath joy. What do you think? You don't know what God thinks. Does it matter to you? Because at the end of your life. You'll find that everything you think. Will give you joy doesn't it? God who made you says. A man hath joy. By the answer of his mouth. God says. When your heart doesn't condemn you. But the Holy Spirit in you. The joy of the Lord. In you is your strength. That's how you pass the exam. With the lips. A man hath joy. By the answer of his mouth. Proverbs 15 verse 23. For he that will love life. And see good days. Do you want that brother? Answer God right now. He that will love life. Do you want that young man? And see good days. What do you think you need? That bursary to Oxford? That girlfriend? He that will love life. God says. Do you want to love life? And see good days. God says. Do you want to see good days? Let him refrain his tongue from evil. And his lips that they speak no guile. 1 Corinthians 3 verse 10. Whoso keepeth his mouth. And his tongue. Keepeth his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21 verse 23. He that keepeth his mouth. Keepeth his life. Proverbs 13 verse 3. Keep thy tongue from evil. Psalm 34 verse 13. Set a watch O Lord. Before my mouth. Keep the doors of my lips. Psalm 141 verse 3. When a Christian. Continually fails God. With his head. When a Christian. Continually fails God. Firstly with his eyes. With his eyes. Secondly. When a Christian. Continually fails God. With his thoughts. With his thoughts. Thirdly. When a Christian. Continually fails God. With his lips. And finally. When a Christian. Continually fails God. With his. Reactions. The fruit. Of the spirit. Is. Temperance. That is self-control. Galatians 5 verse 23. The evidence. The proof. The evidence that the Holy Spirit is in you. Is in a person. Is self-control. Brother. Sister. Love is not easily. Provoked. 1 Corinthians 13 verse 5. Have you ever thought about that word. Love. It's not human love. It's the word God uses. For himself. Agapit. It's to the degree you yielded to God. Brother. Sister. Young person. That you can live this. Outside of it you can't. The whole of 1 Corinthians 13. Agapit. It's God. To the degree you yielded. The fruit of the spirit. The evidence. Of God. In control of your life. Is love. Love. Is not easily. Provoked. 1 Corinthians. 13 verse 5. He that is slow. To anger. Is better than the mighty. And he that rule of his spirit. Than he that taketh the city. Proverbs 16 verse 32. Let me repeat that. He that is slow. To anger. Is better than the mighty. And he that rule of his spirit. That is in control of his spirit. Than he that taketh the city. Proverbs 16 verse 32. He that is slow. To wrath. Is of great understanding. God says. But. He that is hasty of spirit. Hasty of spirit. Quick tempered. Exult of folly. Proverbs 14 verse 29. He that is slow. To wrath. Is of great understanding. God says. But he. That is hasty of spirit. Hasty of spirit. Hasty of spirit. Quick tempered. Exult of folly. Proverbs 14 verse 29. Be not hasty in thy spirit. To be angry. For anger resteth in the bosom of fools. God says. Ecclesiastes 7 verse 9. Be not hasty in thy spirit. To be angry. For anger resteth in the bosom of fools. God says. Be ye angry. And sin not. Let not the sun go down upon your wrath. What is God saying here? Don't allow other people's failures and sins. To make you eventually fail and sin. In God and men's eyes more than them. Don't harbor anger brother. It's sin. Righteous indignation. Has a place. But the Holy Spirit has an amazing ability. To make you forgive. And be Christ like. But harbor anger. That cannot forgive. Oh. Oh. That's worse sin than the sin that made me angry. And others. Be angry and sin not. Don't let it get to sin. Let not the sun go down upon your wrath. God implores you. The discretion of a man. The discretion of a man. Deferreth his anger. And it is his glory. To pass over a transgression. Is that your life? Proverbs 19 verse 11. The discretion of a man. Deferreth his anger. And it is his glory. To pass over a transgression. Have you ever known that glory brother? When others fail. And your eyes fail. And God looks at your failures. And how do you judge others? And you are. Sinner. Worse than made by you. Unforgiving. Hard. Cruel. Judgment of others. Failures. By the way you fail. By the way you judge. You eventually fail. The discretion of a man. Deferreth his anger. And it is his glory. To pass over a transgression. 19 verse 11. An angry man. An angry man. Stirreth up strife. Have I seen. Across America. Across southern Africa. An angry man. Maybe we can just find one. Stirreth up strife. And a furious man. A furious man aboundeth in transgression. Only a man that keeps anger. And is furious. He is full of sin. God says. Full of sin. Even if he is angry and furious. As other people's sins. I guarantee you his life is worse. If it isn't. Before the sun goes down. He is able to pray. And love his enemies. Bless them that curse you. Do good to them that hate you. Pray for them that despise you. In your prayers. You don't know what spirit you have. James, John. An angry man. Stirreth up strife. A furious man aboundeth in transgression. Make no friendship. With an angry man. God says. Make no friendship with an angry man. And with a furious man. Thou shalt not go. Lest thou learn his ways. And get a snare to thy soul. Ah. 22 verse 24. Proverbs. I'd like to read these words to you in closing. Will you listen carefully please. If. If. God is speaking to you tonight. Will you listen carefully in this last moment. If God is speaking to you. Not me. But his word. By his spirit. The greatest. Single tragedy. This world faces today. Is compromising Christianity. I have no doubt of that. Beginning in your home. To every soul you approach daily. Compromising Christianity will undermine. The effect of the gospel. And the honor of Christ's name in this world. Beginning in your home. To every soul you approach daily. Compromising Christianity. Even if you're 12 years old. Will undermine the effect of the gospel. To everyone you come near that's not saved. And the honor of Christ's name in this world. Search me oh God. And know my heart. What a prayer. To allow God. To invite God. By the holy spirit. Through the holy book. To show me if there's any wicked way in me. And to lead me tonight out of it. Into the way of alas. No matter what it costs me. I want to get out of this. Compromising Christianity. Know my heart. The heart. Terrible thought. Is deceitful above all things. Desperately wicked. Who can know it? Only God. And by the spirit. Through the book. He will reveal the thoughts and intents of the heart. Through the word of God alone. To you. Just how wicked it is. The only way you'll know how wicked it is. Is to come back to the standard. The unadulterated uncompromising standard. Of this holy book once again. To break up the fallow ground brother. And I hope it's happened tonight. That the fertile soil of the hardened crust. Has been keeping God from reaching the fertile soil. I hope that hardened crust is crushed. Smashed into us. Because by the word of God. It's like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces. If you allow it. If you haven't closed your heart to it tonight. But you carefully and prayerfully. Exposed your heart to this book tonight. I the Lord search the heart. I try the reins. Even to give every man according to his ways. To the fruit of his doings. Jeremiah 17 10. Oh. Out of the heart. This is staggering. Out of the heart. Proceed evil thoughts. Murders. Adulteries. Fornication. Sexual vice. Thefts. False witness. Lies. Blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man. Matthew 15 verse 18. Create in me a clean heart. Oh God. Create in me a clean heart. Oh God. Renew a right spirit within me. Renew. A consistency. To the standard of this book. The light God has given me from this book to live. The commandments of God. Renew a consistent spirit. A consistent life. Christian life. A man prayed that in this book. I'm going to ask every one of you something. Do you need to pray tonight, brother? Sister. Do you know the only thing that can keep God from making you so vitally real that the devil will scream and howl with all his demons tonight just watching you because of what's going to happen to you by your next step beginning in your home. The only thing that can keep you from God can keep God from reaching you and making you vitally real. So vitally real that heaven will rejoice and hell will tremble. His pride. And that's your choice. No matter what God says, I will not bow. That's your choice. You give it more grace. James says. For God giveth grace unto the humble. I'm going to ask every single one of you. Even if you're a little boy. Even if you have read through your Bible 300 times, that doesn't mean you've obeyed it. I'm going to ask you even if you're a preacher, an elder. If God matters to you anymore in truth, that you know that you are a compromising Christian and that you are the greatest single tragedy on earth you belong to. For what could happen in this world if Christians took these words and sought God with their whole heart? I want those of you who continually have failed God with the things we've heard tonight. Your eyes. Your thoughts. Your lips. Your reaction. I want you tonight. I implore you tonight to sow to yourselves in righteousness. Reap in mercy here tonight. Do what God requires of you. Break up your fellow ground. For it is time to seek the Lord till he come and reign righteousness upon you. And he will. He will. He can't mock a man by saying you can do something and then say no now that you've done it. You. If your hardened crust, the fellow ground is broken and God has reached the fertile soul of your heart and you're crying out then I want you tonight to seek God. I want you tonight to seek God for righteousness. I pray in that prayer aloud publicly from your soul to God. Create in me by the blood of Christ a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me. You cry that to God from your soul. Do you honestly believe God will turn away his face from you and not answer you utterly? If you look into the blood. Those of you that desperately desperately need to pray that to God tonight stand right now please. It costs doesn't it? It's going to cost you so much more if you don't. Come. Let's make something holy, sacred here. Come. Don't worry about men's eyes. No one can judge you. Trust me. It's only God that can judge. It's only God that matters. Come to this God now. That you came to this convention for a young person. Not for mommy and daddy that dragged you here. You know in your heart you want God because you know it's misery without him in this world. Every one of you every one of you there's no altar to kneel here. It isn't the posture the outward figure. It's the heart that matters. God looks at his bound before him alone. Bow your heads. Pray these words with me to God please. And God does not look at the words that proceed out of the mouth. He look at the heart from whence they come. He's looking at your heart. It's not sin that you know that people are listening. It's not sin that you know another man's leading you in prayer. If you know that God knows this is the best you can do in honesty and sincerity and integrity these words are mine God. God won't turn his face from you. Don't listen to the devil and don't have any doubt in this holiness of God his integrity to those who seek him in truth. And you pray from your heart these words with me. Oh God I bow before thee tonight. Thy child but so defiled so shamed so grieving as I look at my life in the light of this book of what God wanted of me what I knew he wanted but I defied and tolerated and accepted. It is beyond my comprehension how I could have so grieved thee so long living in this compromise this shameful state of compromise. Wash me in the blood of Christ my only hope to be cleansed to be clean to be pure in God's eyes. I look to the blood just wash me now from every sin every defiance every calculated sin and rejection of light. Forgive me for such saying that I have brought upon thee and grief that I have caused thee and myself. Let the blood go deeper wash me through and through and through and through create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me a consistent steadfast living in the light I've been given by thy grace. Fill me anew with thy Holy Spirit take complete control of me take my life and let it be consecrated Lord to thee every faculty of my being my eyes my mind my lips my reactions oh God take these things and live out thy life within me by the Holy Spirit let me spontaneously react with the fruit of the Spirit because God is in control from this day forth. I know I am not sinlessly perfect but I believe thou canst keep me in amazing victory in this wicked world and in spite of its wickedness daily. Help others to forgive me beginning in my home and that they may see from the next step I take the next word I utter the next reaction I react the next look I look they may see Christ Jesus lives in me glorify thy name through my life in my grace from this day forth in Jesus Christ for his sake Amen.
