| | | Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards
Topic: | | Description: Considered to be one of the most famous sermons in American history, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" was first delivered in Enfield, Connecticut on July 8, 1741. Timely yet timeless, Edwards shows us our true nature, that nature which we see so very clearly even today. Deuteronomy 32:35
comments How frightening is the truth! — Has the church not fallen asleep? How much controversy would this sermon stir in the church today, in the time when His great love is only preached! They mock God. How great is God's mercy, yes ! But How great is God's justice!
Much-Needed Sermon! — A sermon that absolutely must be heard by sinner and Christian alike. It is little wonder that a revival followed in the wake of such preaching.

| | | Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God (alternate) by Jonathan Edwards
Topic: Scripture(s): Deuteronomy 32:35 | | Description: Enfield, Connecticut July 8, 1741 'Their foot shall slide in due time.' Deut. 32:35 In this verse is threatened the vengeance of God on the wicked unbelieving Israelites, who were God's visible people, and who lived under the means of grace; but who, notwithstanding all God's wonderful works towards them, remained (as ver. 28.) void of counsel, having no understanding in them. Under all the cultivations of heaven, they brought forth bitter and poisonous fruit; as in the two verses next preceding the text. The expression I have chosen for my text, Their foot shall slide in due time, seems to imply the following doings, relating to the punishment and destruction to which these wicked Israelites were exposed.

| | | | | The Life of David Brainerd - Part. 1 by Jonathan Edwards
Topic: | | Description: Though he was orphaned at age fourteen, repeatedly struck with debilitating illnesses, and unfairly expelled from college, Brainerd allowed nothing to deter him from serving God wholeheartedly. He traveled thousands of miles by horseback across treacherous terrain to preach the gospel to remote Indians. His calling required a rugged man—he even slept outside in the cold without cover—yet he constantly displayed a gentle and meek love for people entirely different from himself. Their benefit ultimately brought about his early death at the age of twenty-nine. Like an invigorating shower, the listener will be rejuvenated by Brainerd's life-giving devotional insights, refreshing clarity of purpose, and heartwarming preaching. This book offers not only a captivating story, but an uplifting buoy for those who are weary, distant, or discouraged. “Brainerd's spirit was on fire for God, on fire for souls. Nothing earthly, worldly, selfish came in to abate in the least the intensity of this all-impelling and all-consuming force and flame.” — Edward M. Bounds, Power Through Prayer. This audiobook is read by Nick Cordileone.
