G. Richard Blackaby

G. Richard Blackaby (N/A – N/A) is an American preacher, author, and ministry leader whose work has centered on spiritual leadership and helping Christians experience God for over four decades. Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Henry Thomas Blackaby, a renowned pastor and author, and Marilynn Sue Wells, he grew up in a missionary family, moving to the United States in 1988. He earned a B.A. in History from the University of Saskatchewan, followed by an M.Div. and Ph.D. in Church History from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and holds an honorary Doctorate from Dallas Baptist University. Blackaby’s preaching career began as senior pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba, followed by a 13-year tenure as president of Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochrane, Alberta, before becoming president of Blackaby Ministries International (BMI) in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2006. His sermons, emphasizing spiritual awakening and leadership, have reached global audiences through BMI, where he speaks at churches, conferences, and to CEOs on experiencing God and moving people onto His agenda. Co-author with his father of bestselling works like Experiencing God (1990) and Spiritual Leadership (2001), he has written or co-authored over 35 books, including The Seasons of God (2011). Married to Lisa since 1983, with whom he has three children—Mike, Daniel, and Carrie—and eight grandchildren, he continues to minister from Jonesboro, Georgia.
