We are surrounded each day my man's efforts to circumvent the natural discourse of the creator and the created.
I Chronicles 16:10-12 "Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth..."
Seeking the founder and maker of all that exists seems irrelevant to modern day men. In fact their efforts have resulted in their denying the existence of their maker altogether.
Psalms 14:1 ‘The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, none doth well."
It is this that has so angered God.
Psalms 14:4 "Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD."
The intent of man is to live wickedly and deny the presence and power of God in the affairs of men. Yet God preservers with courage unseen in anyone else. He bravely defies human logic and offers up a sacrifice to make peace between himself and his creation.
Isaiah 53:10-11 "Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt makes his soul an offering for sin, he will see his seed, he will prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD will prosper in his hand. He will see of the travail of his soul, and will be satisfied: by his knowledge will my righteous servants justify many; for him will bear their iniquities."
Yet man still rejects the voice of the Lord. Time passes and sorrow increases. Nevertheless, it is as if there is no God, no deity to commune with, to listen to and to lean on. The people cry, "where is God, " and he softly answers I have always been there.
Revelations 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
Often this love goes unrequited and God goes away angry and sadden. He understands the human heart and the natural disdain man has for him yet he must eventually punish them. The day of the Lord is at hand, the world must call upon him while have time.
Joel 1:15 "Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come."
The day of the Lord will come and all who have denied God shall perish but all those who believe can trust in the faithful words of St. John.
Revelation 3:3-7 "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."
Tis so sweet to trust in God, our maker, savior and friend. God bless all those who have understood these words. Remember, our Lord is faithful to the end.
