ALl Israel] So many among the ten tribes as Tiglath-pileser had left, 2 Kings 15:29.
Ephraim and Manasseh] These, being the two chiefest of the ten tribes, are put for all the rest, v. 5.
passeover] This was one of their sacraments, and seals of Gods covenant, 1 Corinthians 5:7.
2 Chronicles 30:2
second moneth] By the law it was appointed to be kept in the first moneth (Exod. 12. 2, 3.) but, in case of necessity, it might be kept in the second.
moneth] Numbers 9:10-11.
2 Chronicles 30:3
because the priests] These two reasons are alleadged, where the dispensation is granted, Numbers 91:0.
2 Chronicles 30:4
the thing] Or, this thing, namely, that it should be put off to the second moneth.
pleased the king] Heb. was right in the eyes of the king.

from eer-sheba] From south to north. See 1 Kings 4:25. and 1 Kings 3:29. and 1 Kings 19:3. Judg. 20. 1.
as it is written] According to the prescript form in the law.

according to the commandment] The commandment hath reference to the messengers: they of Israel were invited and intreated.
urn again] By true repentance, Ezekiel 33:11.
he will return] In grace and mercy, Psal. 0. 13. Zechariah 1:3.
that are escaped] That remain in the land after it was subdued by the Assyrians, who carried away captive other inhabitants thereof.

like your fathers] Such obstinate persons as they were, Zechariah 1:4.

be ye not stiff-necked] Heb. harden not your necks.

prepareth, &c.] That in truth of heart desireth to serve God, though through ignorance or negligence he fail in externall rites.
purification, &c.] Such rites of cleansing as are prescribed to such as come to Gods holy place.

healed, &c.] He forgave their sinne, and inwardly by his spirit sanctified them. Or, took away some judgement that he had inflicted on them. Or, accepted them as cleansed.

present] Heb. found, Chap. 29. 29.
lud instruments] Heb. instruments of strength. Or, whereby the power of the LORD was sounded forth.

comfortably unto all] Heb. to the heart of all, Genesis 34:3. Isaiah 40:2. Hosea 2:14.
good knowledge] Such things as made men understand the good will of God, Romans 12:2.
eat, &c.] Eat together the offerings.

other seven] Because they observed people still to flock together more and more.

did give] Heb. lifted up, or, offered. Or, reserved.
did give, &c.] That they might have to offer. Or, that they might be offered for them. Or, that they might eat thereof.
a thousand, &c.] See on 1 Kings 8:63.
a great number] Heb. to a multitude; that they might be enough for the multitude of sacrifices. See vers. 15.
2 Chronicles 30:25
all the congregation] Who are mentioned, vers. 11. 18.
strangers] Who were of other nations, but circumcised upon their profession to be of the Jews religion. See Exodus 12:48.
2 Chronicles 30:26
time of Solomon] Since the division of the ten tribes from Judah. Because Solomon was the last king of all the tribes united, is by name mentioned.
2 Chronicles 30:27
the priests] The priests which were of the stock of Levi: not such as Jeroboam made. See chap. 13. 9.
arose] See chap. 29. 20.
blessed, &c.] According to the divine institution, Numbers 6:23.
his holy dwelling place] Heb. the habitation of his holinesse, Psalms 68:5.
