23the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, the men of Pekod, Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them—all desirable young men, governors and commanders, officers and men of renown, mounted on horses. 24They will come against you with a host of peoples, with weapons, chariots, and wagons. They will array themselves against you on every side with buckler and shield and helmet. I will delegate judgment to them, and they will punish you according to their own standards.Cross References

Ezekiel 23:22 Summary
[Ezekiel 23:22 is a verse where God says He will bring judgment on a person named Oholibah by using her former lovers against her. This means that the people she used to care about, but then rejected, will now be the ones to punish her. This shows that God is a God of justice, who will not let wickedness go unpunished, as seen in Romans 6:23. It also reminds us that our actions have consequences, and we will reap what we sow, just like it says in Galatians 6:7-8.]
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean for God to 'incite' someone against another person?
In Ezekiel 23:22, God says He will incite Oholibah's lovers against her, meaning He will stir them up or provoke them to action, much like He did with the Babylonians in Jeremiah 51:11, where He stirred them up to punish the wicked nation.
Why would God bring Oholibah's former lovers against her?
According to Ezekiel 23:22, God will bring Oholibah's former lovers against her because she turned away from them in disgust, and now they will be used as a form of judgment against her, illustrating the principle found in Galatians 6:7-8, where we reap what we sow.
Is this verse talking about a literal or spiritual judgment?
Ezekiel 23:22 is primarily talking about a literal judgment, where God will bring physical enemies against Oholibah, but it also has spiritual implications, as seen in Revelation 18:8, where God's judgment on a wicked nation is described as a spiritual and physical punishment.
How does this verse relate to God's character?
This verse shows God's holiness and justice, as seen in Isaiah 30:18, where God is slow to anger but will not leave the guilty unpunished, and it also highlights His sovereignty, as He is the one who controls the actions of nations and individuals, as stated in Proverbs 21:1.

- How can I apply the principle of reaping what I sow, as seen in Galatians 6:7-8, to my own life and relationships?
- What does this verse teach me about God's heart for justice and His desire to punish wickedness, and how can I align my own heart with His?
