Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Sermon Transcription
This is tape number 12 in a series. We urge you to listen to all the tapes in the series in numerical order so that the whole teaching can be received and understood. Listening to a part of this series or to the tapes out of sequence can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. I've been over a good part, different parts of the Bible, and now the question is What is, what am I really saying? What is the message I'm really saying? What is the Lord really saying? And I want you to know what God's message is for today, right now, and I want you to turn with me, if you will, please. Everybody's got their sword ready, I see. Getting ready. To Jeremiah 5. And I want you to see because we're going to see it all. We're just going to start reading, and we see we've had to go through the New Testament, and and the New Testament is going to tell us to go to Samuel and the books forward. But first I want to see something in Jeremiah 5. And I want you, this is, I want to tell you again. Jeremiah is about the coming of the Lord. Isn't that amazing? Ezekiel is about to come into the Lord. Isaiah is about to come into the Lord. The mine of prophets, and it's on through there. Now here's where the Lord is today, right now. I just, in Jeremiah 5. Look with me there. And we'll just see just exactly how the Lord is seeing the church. This is what he's doing right now. He says, verse 1, roam to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, the church, and see now, and take note, and seek in the open squares. If you can find a man, if you can find one man, if there is one doing justice, who's really seeking the truth, then I'll pardon her. Verse 3. O Lord, do not thine eyes look for truth. Thou hast smitten them, thou hast chastised them, beating them, let them be beat to death with the powers of darkness. But they did not weaken. Thou hast consumed them, and they still refuse to take correction. They walk in discipline. They have made their faces harder than a rock. They have refused to repent. Then I said, they're only the poor, they are the foolish. For they don't know the way of the Lord. They don't know the will of God. They don't know the ordinance of God, the commandments of God. So here's what I'll do. I'll go to the great. I'll go to the leaders, and I'll speak to them. For they know the way. They're supposed to know the gospel of the Lord, and the ordinance, the commandments of their God. But they too, with one accord, they'd broken the yoke, and they burst the bonds, and they didn't keep the commandments or the gospel. Therefore, a lion from the forest is going to slay them. Do you have any idea who that lion is? Powers of darkness. The wolf of the desert, that's the army, shall destroy them. A leopard is watching their cities, and everyone who goes out of them is going to be torn to pieces because of their what? Transgression is God's law. And we saw that back in Romans 1 and 32, verse 9. Shall I not punish these people, declares the Lord, on a nation such as this? Shall I not avenge myself? Verse 10. Go up to her vine rows, powers of darkness, army of God, and destroy. But do not execute a complete destruction. We're going to leave a remnant in there. Strip away these branches, for they're not the Lord's branches. Cut them off and destroy them. Throw them in the fire. Verse 12. They've lied about the Lord, and said not he. Misfortune, no calamity, no curses, peace and safety. They say no judgment's going to come on us. We're not going to see a curse or famine of the Word. And the prophets are as wind, and the Word is not in them. Thus it's going to be done to them. Verse 15. And here's how he's going to do it. Behold, I'm bringing a nation against you from afar. Now folks, I want to stop right here and tell you, when I was going through all the New Testament and telling you the things I was telling you, we're letting the Bible just say it all, which I've been saying these last days right here. And this is just summing it all up. I showed you in the Scriptures why, and how, and so forth. And now we're getting it all put together. And only those that have ears to hear can see these. In Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, you first have to know the truth in your heart before you can ever see truth in the Word of God. Besides that, what I'm showing you right now, if you've never attended a meeting, the Spirit of God already has put this in your heart. And when you're seeing the Word right here, it's only confirming what God has already put in your heart, because the Spirit of God has already spoke to your heart. You hear what I'm saying? Now. So he said, verse 15, Behold, I am bringing a nation against you. I, God, is going to do it. Against you from afar, O house of Israel, the flares of the Lord. It's an enduring nation. It's an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know, nor can you understand what they say. And you sure can. Verse 17, They're going to devour your harvest and your food. All the, they know all the fruit that you, they're going to just devour it. They're going to devour your sons and daughters. That's these powers of darkness. They're going to devour your flocks and your herds. They're going to devour your vines and your fig tree, and they're going to demolish with a curse these fortified cities, these churches in which you trust. Yet, even in those days, declares the Lord, I'll not make a complete destruction. Of course, he's going to leave a remnant. And it shall come about when they say, Why has the Lord our God done all these things? You remember what we read in Deuteronomy 29, the curses, and you to say to them is you forsaken me and serve foreign gods in your land. So now you're going to serve these strangers. We saw that's the powers of darkness in a land, which is not your, your body belongs to me. God says. Here are this old foolish and senseless people who have eyes, but see not. See, that's for the foolish hearts. They see foolish virgins are senseless. Foolish virgins have eyes, but they can't see. Foolish virgins have ears, but they cannot hear because God does not have their whole heart. They just want to be religious. Now, verse 22. Do you not fear me, declares the Lord? Do you not tremble in my presence? Excuse me, verse 23, but this people has a stubborn and a rebellious heart. They've turned aside and they have departed. In other words, they're falling away. They do not say in their heart. Let us now fear the Lord our God, who gives the rain in its season. The rain is a revelation of the Word. Who gives the rain in its season, the autumn rain and a spring rain. That's the latter, early and latter rain. Who keeps for us the pointed weeks of harvest. You're iniquitous. These sins and transgressions of God's law have turned these away and your sins have willed hell the blessings, which is good for you. For wicked men are found among our people, unevenly yoked. They watch like fowlers. See, they're full of deceit, the nature of the devil. They lie in wait. They set a trap and they catch men. Verse 30. An appalling and a horrible thing is happening in the land. The prophets, the preachers are preaching falsely and the priests, preachers are ruling on their own authority. They're not operating under the authority of God and my people just love it so. But what are you going to do at the end of it? And so now the message and a trumpet and message that I'm sharing is this. Chapter 6. Flee for safety, O sons of Benjamin. From the midst of this city Jerusalem, and you know I saw in Luke 21 where the army is surrounding it, and that's exactly what's happening now. Now blow a trumpet in Tekoa, raise a signal over a hard word. For evil looks down from the north. Evil is the powers of darkness and they come out of the north. I want you to always remember they're coming out of the north. And a great destruction. Verse 4. Prepare war against her. Arise, arise. Remember that word arise. Arise and let us attack at noon. Why are they attacked at noon? Because noon is the most light part of day. But these are a people that's walking in spiritual midnight. Woe to us for the day declines. That's spiritual darkness when the day declines. Darkness is over the land for the shadows of the evening are lengthening. Arise now on this spiritual darkness. Let us attack by night in this spiritual darkness and destroy her palaces. For thus says the Lord of hosts, Go cut down these trees of the field. Cut them down. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. You remember that in Matthew 7, 19? And cast up a siege against the church Jerusalem. This is a city to be punished. In whose midst there is only oppression. There's no wall and hedge there. As a well keeps its waters fresh, so she keeps her wickedness. Violence and destruction are hurt in her. Sickness and wounds are ever before me because they're transgressing. The law of God. Now here's God's situation today. And here I found myself running on all over the place trying to make. Oh, I just run in the wall. I just run right over the top of, oh dear me, what I tried to do for God. I saw in verse 10, to whom shall I speak and give warning? And so I took off to speak and I was just going to do it for God. That they may hear. I'm telling you they can't hear. Behold, their ears are closed and they cannot listen. Behold, the word of God has become a reproach to them. If you use certain parts of the word of God, they can't be led out of spiritual darkness because they're offended by, because they just operate on partial truths. They have no delight in the word of God. See, they don't have a love for the truth. And that's what you see in 2 Thessalonians 2. They don't have any love for truth. So I'll send a looting influence on them. So they'll believe what is false. He says, verse 11, but I'm full of the wrath of the Lord. I'm weary with holding it in. So I'm going to pour it out. Here comes the flood. I'm going to pour it out on the children in the street. I'm going to pour it out on the gathering of the young men together. For both husband and wife shall be taken. The aged and the very old. And their houses are going to be broke into. And their houses shall be turned over to others. And it's others. Their fields and their wives together. And we see in Jeremiah 8.10 what he's talking about is the possessing ones are going to move into these houses. That's the army. The powers of darkness. I'm going to stretch out my hands against the inhabitants of the land. From the least of them even to the greatest of them. Their hearts are all greedy for gain. From the prophet even to the priest. Everyone is dealing falsely. They're walking after the flesh nature of Satan. They've healed the wound of my people. Slightly saying, peace, peace. You can walk in a stubbornness to God's commandments. That's a false peace. But there is no peace. Were they ashamed because of the abomination they've done? They were not even ashamed at all. They don't even know how to blush. Because they're all busy fulfilling their own set of rules and doctrines and righteousness. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall. At the time of their punishment, they shall be cast down, says the Lord. For thus says the Lord, stand by the way and see and ask for the ancient path, which is covenant, holiness, righteousness. Where the good way is. And walk in it. And then you'll find rest and peace for your soul. Because that is a land of peace and rest. But they said, we will not walk in it. And I said, a watchman over you saying, listen to the sound of the trumpet, the warning. But they said, we will not listen. Therefore, hear, O nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. Hear, O earth, behold, I'm bringing disaster on this people. The fruit of their own plans. Because they have not listened to my words. And as for my law, they have what? They rejected the law. And so we see in chapter 7. Let's continue in chapter 6 and verse 22. For thus says the Lord, behold, 622. Behold, a people is coming from a north land, and a great nation be aroused from the remote parts of the earth. That doesn't sound like Russia anymore, does it? They seize bow and spear, they are cruel, and they have no mercy. And their voice roars like the sea. Verse 24. We've heard the report of it, and our hands are limp. Anguish has seized us, like pain as a woman in childbirth. And that's what the powers of darkness, when this remote nation comes, and they move into the bodies. And then all the pain and anguish, and hell is all over them. The Lord is letting these instruments of indignation. He's let them destroy. And they're going to bring all, and we saw this. They're going to tear you to pieces, and they're going to be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Hell has never seen anything on earth like it's going to happen. It's fixing to happen. After this message right here, you're hearing right now. You're hearing part of it. It's the eternal gospel, fear God. And the ones who will not fear God are the ones who will not come to God. And they will be destroyed, and you will see it with your eyes, because this generation is not going to pass away, but until all is fulfilled, because the fig tree, which is the remnant, is coming together. And when you see it bringing forth leaves, the leaves come before the fruit, then you can know the ones that are seeing this come together will know this one thing, that this generation will not pass away until all is fulfilled, and it's going to happen fast. This word, this law is going to go forth from Zion. That's going to be the holy remnant. That's where Jesus is going to speak through Zion. And it's going to be sounded forth. The warning is going to be sounded, and they're going to be hated. And Zion is where Jesus is coming to when he comes. We always saw that in Revelation. Zion is a holy and a righteous people. And I'm going to tell you something, folks. I just want to encourage you. This is a cultural shock to everything that we've ever seen and known, because that's when I use the word nightmare. This is exactly what you're waking up from. Now, if you're having any problems with idols and things that's going in the world, just stay here in the world a little bit, and you'll see, you'll begin to see that you've just got holding wind in your hand. You're striving after the wind. And this is what Solomon, God gave him wisdom. And you read through Ecclesiastes and see what he built gardens. He had harems. He had parks. He had the richest man that ever lived. And he had everything he wanted. He had the wisdom of God, and people just come and honored him and all that business. And then at the end of it, he said there's only one thing that matters. That's keeping the commandments of God after you've gone through it all. All of it is about to see it. This seems like it's something because that's the only thing we've ever known. But you can't know nothing else until you come back to this word here, and you'll find out it's all dumb, just exactly like Paul said it. He wrote two-thirds of the New Testament is written through him. It's a demonic game out there, a selfish, self-centered, biting and devour game to see who can misuse, exploit, and outsmart and outquick anyone else in order to build a nest for yourself and have others to serve you. And then the fruit of your plans come on you, and that's the righteous judgment of God. And the thing about it, the strong, the intellectual and everything, are going to lord it over the weak. It's not supposed to be that way. See, God has blessed some with more intellect and strength than he has others, and they're supposed to help the weak. But it's not that way in the world. The strong, the strength and intellectual, they lord it over the others. You can take everything that you know the intellectual and the strong have, you can take it away from them right now, and in just a few months they'll have it all back again. They'll be ruling over it again, because they walk in a selfish nature and character of Satan. Are you hearing what I'm saying? You can take everything they've got, and because of their intellect and the things that God has blessed them with, they can move right back into that thing, and they can have the weak serving them all over again. Amen? While they live for themselves. And God intended it to be that way. Now, I want to make something very clear to you here. I'm not building nothing except up the body of Christ. Jesus is putting this church together. Milton is taking his hands off of it. I don't mess with nobody. If any fellowship surpasses anything like that, I go to encourage and help them. Wherever God leads them, he leads them. It's out of my hands. Now, if the Lord tells me to say something to somebody, I'm going to say it to them, and then you're accountable. I want you to know you're accountable. I'm accountable too. We're accountable now. We're walking in something now where you're accountable. You're accountable. If there's something in this word, you've got to line up with it. I'm going to tell you, come to a time of accountability, and some little old sheep comes up and gives you a word and say, You're not doing such and such right here according to this word right here. And the Lord has sent one of the most meek people you've ever known. And he'd come up and give you a loving word like that. And you just kind of look at him instead of the God that's speaking through him right there. And you turn away from that word and just watch how much hell comes on you and your household. Amen? And there are no big shots around no more. There's only one Jesus. Now, verse 26, O daughter of my people, put on sackcloth, in other words, repent, roll in ashes, mournish for an only son, a lamentation most bitter, for suddenly there's a destroyer will come upon us. I have made you a destroyer. This is what the Lord is saying about his army, the powers of darkness. I have made you an assayer and a tester among my people, that you may know and assay their ways. All of them are stubbornly rebellious. They're going about as tailbears because they're walking lawlessness. They're bronze and iron. Bronze and iron is part of the curses. Bronze, if your prayers don't get into heaven, you're not walking in covenant with God. And iron is all the judgment of God's law is on you on earth. And all of them are corrupt. The billows blow fiercely, and that's what Satan is, and the powers of darkness. They're the fire. It's in Isaiah 54, 16. You'll see it if you want to write it there. The lead is consumed by the fire. They are the fire. In vain the refining is going on. In vain the refining goes on. The fire is there. Why? For the wicked are not separated. Folks, God has a people separated in holiness and righteousness. Lawlessness and righteousness can't walk together. Your fellowship is with those who come to the Lord with a pure heart. Come out from the midst of them. Do not participate in their sins, that you'll not receive in their plagues. Now, those are not my words you just heard. I just quoted some scripture to you. And if you have a problem with it, your problem is with the Lord Jesus Christ. Verse 30. They call them rejected silver, and that's exactly what we saw there in 2 Timothy 3. Rejected with regards to faith, because the Lord has rejected them. Did we not see that? Now, in chapter 7. Verse 8. Behold, you are trusting in deceptive words to no avail. Will you steal? Here's all the lawlessness you walk in, and you see the commandments of God's law. Will you steal? Will you murder? Will you commit adultery? Will you swear falsely? Will you offer sacrifices to idols? Which is what the harlot church does, bail. And walk after other gods that you've not known. Then you're going to come and stand before me in this house. Which you call by my name, which is called by my name, and say, we're delivered. In other words, we can walk in rebellion and stubbornness to God's law, and no calamity is going to come on us. See, that's the passage of peace and safety. And then you say, we're delivered, that you're going to do all these abominations. You're going to practice lawlessness. And then say, no curse can come on us. See, that's the opposite of repentance, is to say that no calamity can come on us. And then if you look over in verse 23, but this is what I commanded them, saying, Obey my voice, and I'll be your God, and you'll be my people, and you're going to walk in all the way that I command you, so that it's going to be well with you, so you'll receive the blessings of God. But here's what they say. They're walking in transgressing God's law, saying, we're delivered people, Christians can't have demons, and all the things of out-of-context things you can say, verse 24. Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but they're walking in their own counsels, their own fleshly wisdom. And in the stubbornness of their evil, they've got an evil heart, because it still loves evil. That's the reason they're not repenting. That's the reason they walk in adultery and swear falsely and murder and steal and so forth. And they go backward instead of what? Not forward. So that's what you call a dead body. Do you hear what I mean? They're dead in their transgressions. So that's the reason you see right there in verse 33. And the dead bodies of this people are going to be food for what? There's the vultures now, the birds of the heaven, the sky, and the beasts of the earth. And no one will frighten them away. There's no deliverance from them. Do you know in Genesis 17 that Abraham frightened the birds of prey when he's making covenant with the Lord? But there's going to be nobody to frighten away these birds of prey right here. There's nobody walking in covenant, has no deliverance or protection from God. And now we're looking at Babylon in case you understand what we're talking about. We're looking at the holy church of the last days is what you've been reading about. And you see in verse 34, you tie this in with Revelation 18, then I'm going to make to cease from these churches of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of joy is going to leave. Is it gone? The voice of gladness is going to leave. Is it gone? It absolutely is. The voice of the bridegroom, do you remember Revelation 18? It's gone. The voice of Jesus is gone. And the voice of the bride, for the land will become a ruin, and the powers of darkness are coming in to do it, and it's happening right now. And just the first, there's never been a problem in what's called a church like they are today. And now you're just seeing, see the sons of destruction. Let's just see it right here. I want you to turn over to 2 Thessalonians. Hold your place. Turn with me over to 2 Thessalonians 2. And I want to begin showing you some of these things. I think in 2 Thessalonians 1 first, and so you'll... So I want to show you about the coming of Jesus. See, you're looking at the coming of Jesus right there in Jeremiah. Now, folks, let me just share something with you so you'll know exactly where I'm coming from. I didn't get any, what I'm sharing with you, I didn't get from people or I didn't get in from any books. Everything that I'm sharing with you I got totally from the Lord. Everything that I'm sharing with you I got totally from the Lord. So I want you to know this. So, now, in 2 Thessalonians 1, let me get over to it. We see right here, we're talking, you know, we read in 2 Thessalonians 1, we read about the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. We see in verse 7, he's going to give relief to you who are afflicted as well, and when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed, and he's going to come with his mighty angels and flaming fire. And verse 8, he's going to be dealing out judgment to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel. Now, the ones who do not know God and who are not obeying the gospel, you see them right back over there. We've been reading about them in Jeremiah. Do you follow what I'm saying? Now, when he's returning, you know, and what this is called, the day of the Lord. Amen? It's the day of judgment. And what it is, he's coming and his reward is when? He's going to give to every man according to his deeds and what he's done. So the harlot church, and you remember reading Revelation, give her back double of what she's given out to others. Amen? And he said, if any of my people are in there, you better get out of there, because, and this is what the trumpet's born, and this is what the Lord is saying through me and others right now. Amen? Come out from the midst of her. Because the voice of the bridegroom. There's no craftsman in there. No true craftsman will stay in a harlot church. If he's a true, if he's a true pastor, prophet, pastor, teacher, he'll come out of there, because he'll have a wise heart and he'll come out of the midst of that thing. He'll come out of it. Now, this is the day of the Lord. And in the day of the Lord, he's going to die, and the recompense is going to go before the Lord. In other words, he's going to be destroying the ones who do not know God and do not obey the gospel, as we're seeing the gospel right there. And he's going to be destroying them. And in these times of distress, he's going to have his hands stretched out for a time, and the ones who are wise in heart are going to have eyes to see and ears to hear, and they're going to come out in the midst of them, and they're going to go weeping to Zion. Because going to Zion, you don't go to Zion until you see what the gospel is. This is the spirits of righteous men made perfect. This is a heavenly Jerusalem. This is a false Jerusalem right over here. A harlot Jerusalem, you know. And that's the harlot that the army is going to be around. We see in Luke 21, their voice roars like the sea and says, You better pray that you're going to have strength in these days, so that you will stand before the Son of Man. Because it's only the ones that come through the fire are going to be saved. And I want to tell you, it's going to be a strong remnant. So I'm telling you, if you're faint-hearted, you just might as well quit now. Because I'm going to tell you something right now. You love God, and the love is going to go for you. And, buddy, He's never going to let you be tempted beyond what you can stand. And whatever you're going through, it's good for you. Just always remember that. Don't run from it. Amen? Oh, I tell you what, I just, boy, I just, I tell you what, I believe one of these days I'll start crying, and I'll cry for six straight months. I really do. I think, you know, and see, I get glimpses of it. I'm getting it, you know, and we're not really seeing God's truth. We're not really seeing all of His love for us right now. We're not really seeing, we're getting glimpses, but when we start seeing how much God loves us and what He's been trying to do, you know, I'm going to tell you what, our hearts are going to be broken absolutely in two. And we've got to have compassion and love for people that's not seeing some of the things that we have, because this love and the Spirit of God and our prayers are going to be answered, and God is going to cause people to see. But He's only going to cause people to see by us walking in covenant and carrying that ark on holy, sanctified shoulders. And then we have people to be snatched out of the fire. And you get in this Word, and you stay in this Word, and you know this Word, and you walk in love, and you speak in love, and when you have an opportunity to be somewhere, you go be all things to all people, but don't let them, and I'm going to tell you, here's the thing about it, when God is on you, you look good. Let me say this one more time. When God is on you, you look good. And then Babylon can see when God is on you. And then what they try to do, they'll try to pick you up and get you to go over and bring glory to their thing like God is there where they are. Well, you go over to their thing over there, but then when you get there, you tell it like it is in this Word. Amen? Amen. Right? So this is the day of the Lord. The day of the Lord, now listen to me right here, the day of the Lord is the day of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God. What is the revelation of the righteous judgment of God? As you have done to others, it's going to be done to you. You're going to be repaid according to your deeds. If you're holy, you better keep yourself holy. But if you're wicked and filthy, well, just continue to be that way because your day is coming. You'll be wiped off the face of the earth and everything you've got going for you. And then when the door is going to be shut, after this Word, this is going to be taught, they're going to hear this message, and there are going to be a lot of people. They're going to come streaming to Zion. They're going to come out of these places. There are going to be exodus. And then when these nickel noses and others come, it's going to upset the kings and princes, so it's Lord's over God's heritage. And they're going to get terrible anger because it's the people of God who are full of the devil anyway. They're going to get terrible anger. There's going to be persecution. Don't be afraid of it. There's nothing going to happen to you. It doesn't matter what anybody says or how it is made. The powers of darkness are totally in control of the Lord, and you've got angels all around you. It doesn't matter what people say. What matters is what God says. Nothing else matters. And I'm going to tell you something, folks. When you hear this message, you don't have to go back and get your goods out of the house. You forget about your goods out there and everything. You better get your mind on the Lord. Amen? Now, that's scriptural. That's Luke 17. Anyway, chapter 2 now. I want to read verse 10 up there first. 2 Thessalonians 1, verse 10. And when Jesus comes, also comes, he's going to be glorified in his what? Saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all those who believe for our testimony. The gospel to you was believed, and the saints are going to believe this testimony. I mean, when Jesus comes, he's going to come designed to be glorified among his saints. Glory be to God. And when they see him, they're going to be what? They're going to be like him. And everybody that has this hope in Jesus, what is he going to do? He's going to purify himself. Amen? Glory be to God. Chapter 2. How wonderful. Chapter 2. Now, we request you, brethren, in regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, to be holy and blameless, that you may not be quickly shaken from your composure or disturbed either by a spirit of message or a letter as from us as to the fact that the day of the Lord is come. Now, let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come until the apostasy comes first. That's the falling away from faith which is happening. Amen? It's not going to come until the apostasy comes. And then the man of lawlessness, you want me to tell you who the man of lawlessness is? Satan. And the man of lawlessness is the ones that walk with him. You hear what I mean? Now, hardly a church are men of lawlessness, and Satan is a man of lawlessness. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Okay. Reveal, and then the son of destruction. You know who the sons of destruction are? The powers of darkness. They're sons of Satan. And these Terrahs march before the King of Terrahs, right? And what does he do? What does Satan do? Who opposes and exalts... These powers of darkness are going to come into the temples. They're the abomination that makes desolation. Who opposes and exalts himself above ever so called God or object of worship that they come and take his seat in the temple of God and display themselves as being God. Now look at me right here. These sons of destruction come into the temple and they display themselves as God of your life. And they start controlling your mind and just pulling levers on your whole lifestyle. Amen? As they lead you into destruction. They're sons of destruction. Amen? So that's the army that God is going to turn loose. And these sons of destruction come in all those who do not have a heart for God, who do not know God, and who do not obey the gospel. Is that what we saw earlier? Now, let's go to verse... Well, let's look in verse 6. And you know what restrains him now so that in his time he may be revealed. He's being revealed right now. And the powers of darkness have been being restrained. They're not being restrained anymore. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains will do so until he's taken out of the way. Now they're going to be destroyed one of these days. But right now, they're not restrained. Look in verse 9. And this is the one, the lawless one, whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan. And these powers of darkness are going to lead men doing all power and signs and false wonders. They're going to be doing this through the false prophet and it's the false church. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Now, look at me right here so you'll understand. It's just like Matthew 7. They're the ones that are going to say, Lord, Lord, I cast out demons. I prophesied and I did miracles in your name. And Jesus said, I never did know you. You who practice lawlessness because you followed the lawless ones. That's not my signs and wonders you're doing. It's these signs of destruction that's working through you. And you've been calling fire down out of heaven and it wasn't my power. You've been walking like the sons of Korah. You've had the wrong fire. And then what are people doing? They're seeing all these signs and wonders and say, boy, this has got to be God. And these demons in people, they're doing shake, rattle, and roll. Boy, I mean, they're just putting on a display and that's what people like. And so anything that man says that's doing these signs and wonders, boy, they gobble it up and follow his ministry and they're not the elect of God. The powers of darkness confirm a false gospel. The powers of light, the Lord, confirms the true gospel. And he confirms it by power of the Spirit and everything. The greatest thing that can happen to anyone is you not see some big display up here because we don't get into that sort of thing. Why do we have a big display? The biggest change can happen in your life for you to be free and walk in love with the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Amen? Now, he's going to do the signs and wonders, but if he does the signs and wonders, you know, and everything, our focus and when we get our focus right and everything and the Lord Jesus Christ and the whole gospel, and then he can do some of these things, you know, through us and everything. But right now, there's too much flesh in us. You know, you won't make somebody king if God wants to do some of these things through them, right? So the signs and wonders are true. Everything is the real thing. The other is the counterfeit of it. And we see in these activities, see, that's a false prophet. That's the beast that comes out of the earth that looks like a lamb, but it speaks like a dragon. Lawlessness. Verse 10, And with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish. Now, the ones that perish are going to follow these false signs and wonders and these false prophets because they did not receive a love of the truth. They do not have a real love of the truth. Their hearts have gone after men. It's gone after idolatry. It's gone after the by-products of Jesus, signs and wonders. And are you hearing what I'm saying? They follow ministries. Are you following me? I know I'm named out. Are you following me? Are you following me in the Word? Okay. Those who perish because they did not receive the love of the truth, so as to be what? You cannot be saved if you do not have a love of the truth. Do you hear me say that before? You might want to put your little ass over there in front of that salvation. When you see this scripture, go back to them later on because it's all over the Bible. You have to have a love. What about people who do not love the truth? The truth is a reproach to them. They have no delight in it. And so, see, it can't wash you unless you love God. If you don't love God, you won't love the truth. Amen? Okay, now, verse 11. And for this reason, God is going to send a diluting influence on them. You can put in front of that right there religious demons. That's the army. So that they might believe what is false. That's poison water. And the Lord lets the diluting influence come on so they'll believe a lie and while He destroys them. Now, that's a wrath of God and that's an attribute of God we hadn't planned on before, right? Our forefathers, our ancestors, our fathers didn't ever teach us that. Now, verse 12. In order that they all may be judged, the one who is going to be judged, whose hearts didn't go after the Lord and love the truth, who did not believe the truth, and we saw that, in other words, they denied the power of the gospel, but they took pleasure in lawlessness and wickedness. You see that. But we, the elect, should always give thanks to God for you, brethren, and I hope we're the elect, beloved the Lord, because now, I want you to get ready and get out every pencil you have and mark this, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation, which comes only through what? Purification. Having your heart purified. And this is done by what? The Spirit and faith in the truth. Now, how does this salvation come? Now, look at me. For the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, goodness, gentleness, meekness, temperance, and faith. Against such things there is no law. And that's where the gospel leads us, right? Now, verse 14. And for this, he called us through our gospel that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, we are back over there and we look in Jeremiah 7, verse 33. Now, whom are we going to give warning? The trumpet's blowing, isn't it? And verse 33. The dead bodies of this people are going to be food for the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth. Now, that's these sons of destruction. No one's going to frighten them away. Verse 34. Then I'm going to make them cease. This is Babylon, the holy church of the last days. Cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem. The voice of joy and gladness is going to leave. The voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. And the land is going to become ruined. Now, I want you to watch very carefully what the Lord said. And I've said something about it. See, this is exactly what my message is right here. If you want to know what I'm sharing, that's exactly what I'm sharing, this message right here that Jeremiah has right here to a people that's walking exactly like you see in Jeremiah and Ezekiel and Isaiah. So, look, here's what. Here's the word now. Back up to verse 27. Now, you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. And you shall call to them, but they will not answer you. And you shall say to them, this is a nation that did not obey the gospel, they denied the power of God, they did not obey the voice of the Lord, their God, or accept discipline, reproof and correction, so truth has perished and been cut off from their mouth and they're walking in a total famine of the word with no understanding. Amen? So then, so you can just see this a little clearer, let's go back and see a few things and before we come back over here, what the New Testament is telling us is happening. We're going over to the New Testament and let's go back to Hebrews 12. We saw about this discipline right there. In Hebrews 12, that God said in verse 5, Don't regard lightly the discipline of the Lord nor faint when you're being reproved from Him. I told you that this gospel is not for the faint hearted. Amen? Now, the faint hearted are not going to persevere and endure for salvation. Now, you hear what I'm saying? They're going to go through some little trials and everything and they're going to sit there. Now, I want to ask you something. How many of these four days, and when you hold up your hand, I want you to put it up there high, and I want you in front, when you see this, to turn around and look. How many of you have really gone through some trials right here, sitting in here and hearing this word, getting here and everything, hold up your hands right here. You have gone through some bunch of things. Well, one or two of you. No, a few hundred. Now, if you are faint hearted and you didn't persevere and endure, you wouldn't be seeing what's tied together today and what's going to be happening to you today here. And I'm going to tell you right now that stuff that came on you, you persevered and endured, this stuff began coming off of you and you've got a freedom like you hadn't had and many of you are going to have a freedom, most of you are going to have a freedom like you've never had in your life when you leave here today. And see, it's not for the faint hearted. How many here had everything talking to you, let's get out of town. We've got all kinds of things. Let's go somewhere and just go on back. Hold the hands back up there. Didn't anything try to get you to go back home? It didn't mean. Hebrews 12, verse 7, It is for discipline, verse 7, that you endure. God deals with you as son, for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? Verse 8, But if you are without discipline, you will not receive the discipline of the Lord, which is the harlot church. That's where she walks. That's where she walks in lawlessness. Which all the sons have become partakers of this discipline, your illegitimate children and your false sons. Am I saying what the Bible says? And we go down there, verse 10, For they are fathers disciplined for a short time as seen best of them, but the Lord God disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. And I don't have to explain that anymore. Holiness is how the Lord removes lawlessness. All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful but sorrowful. But to those who are going to be trained in this discipline, and the harlot refuses to, afterward it's going to yield the peaceful fruit of righteousness which we know to be salvation. So we see in verse 14, Pursue peace with all men and the sanctification. Did we see a while ago that salvation comes only through sanctification? Did we see that back in 2 Thessalonians 2? Did we see that? I mean, we just read it. It was just right there. Pursue peace with all men and the sanctification without which no one is going to see the Lord. Amen? Now we know right there in verse 15, See that no one comes short of the grace of God, that no root of bitterness is going to spring up causing trouble and then you're going to get your congregation all what? Defiled. So you don't let the leaven exist or a little leaven is going to spread all over the whole loaf, right? Verse 16, That there be no immoral or godless person like Esau. Can I tell you about Esau? Edom is descendants of Esau and Esau through the word is referred to as a peep of the flesh who sold his own birthright of salvation for a single meal which his fleshly desires. So don't do it. Don't give up your inheritance for the desires of the flesh and lawlessness. Amen? Now in verse 22, But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to the marriage of angels, to the general assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, that's the church of the firstborn, to God the judge of all and who is in this Zion, the spirits of righteous men who receive discipline and reproof to become holy and righteous. That's how you're made perfect. Amen? You're holy and blameless. Now I want you to listen very carefully what happens right here in verse 25 because this is what's going on right now. See to it that you do not refuse God who is speaking. Is that what he told them about the law when he was on Mount Sinai when he gave the law out? All right, now you're coming to Mount Zion and you better not. He told them that the fear of God came on them. He said you better not resist me who is speaking. And God has his finger pointed at you right now, you and me, and he's saying you better not refuse what you're hearing right now in this word of God. He said you better not refuse it. Do not refuse him who is speaking, for if those did not escape when they refused him who warned, he refused them with the law right there, from on earth, much less shall we escape. You're not going to escape. They didn't escape. You're not going to escape either who turn away from him who warns from heaven. Now what is he warning about right now? I'm going to read something to you. If I can find it here. Back in... Let's see. I want you to go with me back to... Hold your place and go back to Hebrews 1 verse 14. Verse 13. Now we look in verse 13. But which of the angels has the Lord ever said, Sit at my right hand until I make thy enemies a footstool for thy feet? For the angels, that's the angels of God. Now I want you to watch this right here. Are they not all ministering spirit, the angels of God? They're sent out to render service for the sake of those. Who are the angels working with? Those who are inheriting salvation. Who are the ones inheriting salvation? The ones who are walking in covenant. Do you remember what we read in 1 John 5? That those who do not sin, that they're protected and they put a hedge around them? Jesus does. The angels stay with you and they serve you. And they're there to see that you're blessed coming and going. Amen? But you do go through the fire and you go through hardships in this world as Paul and Jesus and the others did. But see the whole joy, but your heart is full of joy and you're continually filled with the Spirit. Amen? But we're going to have to suffer a while to be established and strengthened and confirmed in the covenant. Amen? Okay. Now the angels are there serving those who are inheriting salvation. Now they're going to frighten the birds away, the birds of heaven when they come. And the birds of heaven come around you to bother you. See those angels right there. You know I was talking to a demon, well I've done this several times, but I was talking to a demon back when he used to do this one-on-one and manifest and all, when I was in that part of the school that God had me in. And I was talking to that demon there and all of a sudden the demon just took over the whole person and all of a sudden that person just started shaking all over the place. And boy, I knew there was something going on. And I was talking to that demon and I wondered what had happened and I asked what had happened and he's talking about the big angel that was standing behind me. And chapter 2, verse 1, For this reason we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, lest we what? Lest you fall away from it. For if the words spoken through angels prove unalterable and every transgression that you commit and disobedience that you commit is receiving a just recompense, is that what we've learned about the law? Then how are you going to escape from the wrath of God if we neglect so great a salvation that's being saved from the wrath of God through the gospel after it was first spoken to the Lord and it was confirmed by those who heard? Is that plain? Now that kind of makes sense right there. Now this is what he's saying back over in Hebrews 12, okay? Hebrews 12, verse 25, See to it that you do not refuse him who is speaking for if those did not escape when they went ahead and committed transgressions and what Hebrews 12 is telling you you better be holy and righteous and receive discipline. Amen? Be a son. Which they refused him who warned from on earth much less shall we escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven. And his voice shook the earth then and now he is promised saying yet once more I'm going to shake not only earth but also the heavens. Now we see that in Revelation. And this expression yet once more denotes that the Lord is going to remove those things which can be shaken. Amen? Now which things can be shaken today? Yeah, I want to tell you who does the shaking and I want to show it to you right here. If this is your foundation right there four easy steps into heaven you're going to be destroyed. If that's what your heart is depending on right there instead of the walk of holiness and in other words if you deny the power of the gospel to make you holy and righteous you will not be saved. You'll be destroyed. Because this foundation right here is sand. And when the flood and these sons of destruction come through and you're not standing on the word of God they're going to put these temptations in your mind. You're going to be walking in lawlessness and they'll just come into your body and by your standard of measure it's going to be measured to you. Amen? They test, they're going to refine you and only the vessels of honor that's gold and silver are going to come through this fire. And I want to tell you something folks. Let me just make you aware of something else. I want to encourage you something because we're going to go through some suffering and then the Lord is and we're really suffering trying with all our heart then he's going to strengthen us. The power of Jesus is what's going to cause us to go through all this fire. You understand what I mean? But we're going to suffer a good deal to prove that we really love the Lord with all our heart before this is going to come on us. Do you hear what I'm saying? So I just want to encourage you to endure. And you know one of the things that's in my heart right now as I go through the country it's not big meetings or anything like that it's just to stop off with people that I know are really welcoming to the Lord and just encourage them and help them to just boy go on. Amen? And this is what the flood is. The shaking is the flood and it's going to separate the weeping and tears. We saw that in Matthew 13. Now verse 27 And this expression yet once more that's the shaking denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken and that's the one that's walking in adultery lawlessness has created things in order that those things which cannot be shaken are what? Remained. Now while people are waiting for the rapture and they're walking in lawlessness they're going to be destroyed and they're not going to know or understand until the flood has taken them away and it's only those things which cannot be shaken that's going to remain and that's who the elect is going to be. So then if you turn back to Luke turn back to Luke 6 and we'll see the shaking right here. We see the flood is a shaking that's where he pours out his wrath. Amen? First let me just well let me just let's look at verse we see the righteous judgment of God let's just look at verse 35 Love your enemies and do good and lend expecting nothing in return don't do things to get it back your reward will be great is Jesus coming with a reward? In Revelation 22, 11 and 12 and then you're going to be sons of the Most High if you're loving your enemies. Amen? And you'll be sons of the Most High this is the way you become sons if you hate your enemies you're not going to be sons of the Most High for like Jesus you have the nature of God he himself is kind and ungrateful he's kind to ungrateful and evil men so be merciful we know mercy overcomes judgment just as your father is merciful do not judge and you'll not be judged but if you want to judge others then judgment is coming on you do not condemn then you'll not be condemned if you want to speak condemnation on others condemnation is going to come on you pardon and you'll be pardoned but if you'll not pardon others then the Lord won't forgive you given is going to be given to you a good measure pressed down shaken together running over for by your standard a measure this is a righteous judgment of God it's going to be measured to you in return whatever you give out is what you get and then we see he spoke a parable a blind man cannot guide a blind man can he will they not both fall in a pit and that's where blind men are leading congregations today a pupil is not above his teacher but everyone after he's been fully trained is going to be like his teacher so if you've got a blind man is teaching you're going to be blind just like him but if the Lord Jesus Christ is where your confidence is and you hear his voice you follow him and you're going to become when he appears you're going to be like him because everyone has his hope in Jesus is going to purify himself now verse 43 for there is no good tree which produces bad fruit a good tree does not produce the fruit of the flesh now on the other hand a bad tree the fruit of the flesh cannot produce holiness amen and the Lord asked in verse 46 why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not do what I say and we see what he's talking about in verse 49 here's the one that does call Jesus Lord and do not do what he says verse 49 but the one who has heard the word of God we saw it in the parable of the word and he does not act accordingly he hears the word, look at me he hears the word and does not act upon it because he's found his security in a doctrine that does not conform him to God so he don't have to hear it this is his foundation of sand right there amen alright now he hears the word of God yet he does not act accordingly is like a man who built his foundation upon the what? ground instead of the rock without any foundation right? this is not any foundation this is no foundation when the sons of destruction come the day of the Lord and then the river, that's the river of Satan the flood burst against this house and immediately it what? it collapsed, he broke God's law and drifted in lawlessness and the ruin of that house was great so how is remnant going to walk? in Zion we see there in verse 8 48 he is like a man let's look at verse 47 everyone who comes to Jesus and hears the words of the gospel and acts upon that gospel they're the ones that obey the gospel right? they take the word to heart I'll show you whom he is like he is there like a man building a house who dug deep and he laid his foundation upon the rock that's the word of God and when the flood arose you see the flood right there see that's what we that's God's wrath right there and that river of Satan it burst against that house and it could not what? I can't hear you it could not shake him that's the shaking that God is turning loose and only those things which cannot be shaken are the only things that's going to remain that shaking and that's those who are standing on the word of God not some doctrine that does not conform you to the college that has no foundation and you'll be swept away by the flood but only those who stand on the rock they hear the word of God and they act on it and they're not faint hearted Amen and that's exactly what it's talking about there Amen now let's see one other thing I want you to back up to Matthew 24 with me please now since we have gotten to the place where we are right now I could just go through and just start reading the scripture and they're just tying together all over the place I wouldn't even hardly have to say anything after a few more things are done and you know it's an amazing thing about these meetings when we're starting when you're just getting started it's when they're ending and you know I don't know how to work through these things but the Lord's going to do it some way or another because boy the further you get in this word the stronger you're going to be Amen because as you get this word look at me it's just turning down wall after wall after wall after wall in you Amen alright now here we are in Matthew 24 we're talking about the coming of Jesus and when he's coming to destroy those who do not know God and those who do not obey the gospel and we see there in verse 3 we know that the sign of the coming at the end of the age and in verse 4 see that no one misleads you then verse 5 for many are going to come in my name saying I'm the Christ or I'm the body of Christ they're going to mislead people and see that's the false prophets you hear what I'm saying? the false prophets the false church and verse 10 in that time many are going to fall away and hate one another and then verse 11 the false prophets are going to rise and they're going to mislead people leading them in lawlessness and because this lawlessness is increased because of this false teaching look at me folks because of the doctrines they teach it does not conform you to God they teach you to hear the word of God and you don't have to act on it and then your part becomes hardened to the word of God you just walk in lawlessness Amen and because lawlessness is increased the people's loves in the congregation are going to grow cold and we see that's what's happening Amen but the one who endures to the end that's the one who's going to be saved as through fire he shall be saved he's going to overcome and sit at the throne of the Lord and this gospel right here I've been telling you this is what you're hearing right now it's the eternal gospel you saw in Revelation 14 and this gospel the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for what? this is going to be a witness against you it's going to be a witness against me it's going to be a witness to all of them in the world to all the nations and then the what's going to come and then what's going to come? the end's going to come verse 21 for then there is going to be a what? great tribulation such as that occurred since the beginning of the world or ever shall unless those days have been cut short no life would have been saved but for the sake of the elect these days shall be cut short the elect are going to now the elect are going to be the ones who cannot be shaken in this tribulation can I tell you what the tribulation is? the great tribulation is the flood that's turned loose are you hearing what I'm saying? that's the day of the Lord and the righteous judgment of God do you hear what I'm saying? that's why Jesus said I'm coming and the Lord is with me those who are standing on the word of God are going to receive and their house is not broken into they're going to receive salvation they're on Mount Zion amen? a holy mountain the others are standing on salvation they're standing on sand and they hear God's word and they deny the power of the gospel to make them holy how many see that? hold up your hand so that's the you neglect so great a salvation you're warned amen? now let's back up right there well let's just continue because it goes ahead and tells you right there verse look at verse 37 for the coming of the Son of Man is going to be just like the days of Noah in those days which were before the flood they were eating, drinking they were marrying and giving him marriage until the day that Noah ended the ark and that's what it's talking about now and they did not understand they did not have when you deny the power of the gospel a deluding influence will come over you so you'll believe what is false and they did not understand until the flood do you know what the flood is? that's these sons of destruction they came and destroyed them and took them all away so shall the coming of the Son of Man be do you know that most of what's called church doesn't even understand this flood right now and they call this flood which is the flood of Satan and the powers that aren't coming in destruction they call this salvation that's when you're raptured how many know that? hold up your hand many of you have been taught that in seminary it doesn't say that Jesus is not the flood he's coming with the flood amen that's his recompense so we look in verse 42 therefore be on the alert for you do not know which day your Lord is coming but be sure of this if you're alert you're not going to be asleep and Jesus is coming for those who do not obey the gospel and for those who do not know God but be sure of this if the head of the house had known which time of the night he'd come in the night cut down their trees at night that's spiritual darkness that's the thief that's the powers of darkness that's the flood the powers of darkness the sons of destruction was coming he would have been on the alert like we're warned in 1 Peter 5 like we're told up there be on the alert he's coming don't be asleep and he would not have allowed what? he wouldn't have the house to be broken into by the possessing ones the sons of destruction now how many see this so far? how many don't want to see it? how many don't like to hold up your hands? I like it when you respond I'll tell you that right now because everything that I'm into right here is just you getting it amen that's all this is about right here is you getting it amen so now now we look back up there in 24 just a little bit and I want to show you I want to tell you turn back to Ezekiel 7 hold Ezekiel 7 now I want you to see something now look in verse 14 Matthew 24 14 1st and we know that people have been walking in lawlessness because they've fallen false prophets and apostasy has come and they've fallen away from the faith and they're hating one another now is that very clear? amen huh? then when we see in verse 14 and this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a witness now you understand what the gospel is to all the nations and denominations and then what's going to come? then it's going to come and we know verse 21 that's called tribulation isn't it? amen it's called the great tribulation and this great tribulation there's never been a hell on earth that's coming like it amen now you let Matthew 24 go and you turn with me back there to Ezekiel 7 and then you're going to see something verse 2 and you son of man thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel an end the end is coming on the four corners of the land now did we see in Matthew 24 that then after this gospel is preached as a witness the end is going to come how many are with me now? I can't tell okay alright now the end is coming now this is exactly what the end is right here okay that's the flood and the sons of destruction and they're coming with the righteous judgment according to whatever man if a man's standing on Zion I mean his foundation is not going to be shook and so let me tell you what this shaking is that's the spiritual earthquake while people are looking for the natural they're not going to see the spiritual the spiritual is when these flood is turned loose this fire and they come to check your foundation and if you're not over there if you have not taken the warning from God and you neglect this salvation he's provided for you through the Lord Jesus Christ and you hear the word of God and you do not act upon it and you deny the power of God you're going to be swept away in this flood and you're not going to understand until it's all over for you only the righteous was saved in the ark in the days of Noah only the righteous is the only one that's going to be saved in the ark today and that ark is the Lord Jesus Christ and you're not in Christ Jesus if you do not keep his commandments if you deny the power of the gospel you're not in Christ Amen the power of the gospel is righteousness separate from the law that makes us holy and righteous that's the reason Jesus is coming for a blameless and holy bride that's where Zion is and that's where he's returning to and the powers of darkness will destroy everything else alright now verse 3 now the end is upon you and I shall send my anger I want you to know who the anger of God is Satan and I don't have time to do that but you can just go ahead and know that right now my anger I'm going to send my anger against you and I shall judge you according to what? your ways I shall bring all your abominations upon you for my eye shall have no pity on you nor shall I spare you but I shall bring what? your ways what? upon you by your standard of measure it's going to be measured to you and your abominations will be among you then you're going to know that I'm the Lord verse 7 you remember in 1 Peter 2 when you stumble over the summoning stone you stumble to your doom I can't hear you alright here's your doom verse 7 your doom has come to you you who stumble over the summoning stone 1 Peter 2 oh and heaven of the land the time has come the day is near there's tumult on this harlot tree rather than the joyful shouting which has been removed on these mountains these mountains are lifted up in pride and arrogance and know that the holy mountain is going to be the cheapest of the mountains that day and that's Zion now I'll shortly pour out my wrath on you that's a flood he's pouring out the flood on you I'll spend my anger against you I'm going to judge you according to what? deeds and I'm going to bring on you all your what? all your abominations see you're seeing the righteous judgment of God over and over and over by your standard of measure it's measured to you what you get out that's what the reward of Jesus is going to be when you come right? now verse 9 my eye shall show no pity nor will I spare I'll repay you according to what? there it is again all through the Bible that's the righteous judgment of God that's what tribulation is it's going to separate the wheat from the tares I'll repay you according to your ways while your abomination is in your midst then you're going to know that I the Lord I do what? do the smiting now if you look at me right now have we already seen that the Lord does the smiting in the curses? then who cares out the smiting? that's what we saw in Job amen? Satan smites only when the Lord sends him amen? all right now verse 10 behold the day behold the day is coming your doom has gone forth the rod has budded arrogance has blossomed instead of the well instead of the authority of the Lord verse 14 they have blown the trumpet is the trumpet been being blown? and made everything ready but no one is going to battle they don't want to stand in the fire they want to run from the fire they're faint hearted they're walking in idolatry and after the lawlessness and the works of the flesh amen? God doesn't have the heart so they don't stand in battle for my wrath is against all their multitude there it is right there the ones that do not obey the gospel of God the curse is outside now here's what the doom is you're going to see it over and over here's the doom that you see in 1 Peter 2 the sword which is the curse is outside the plague that's another part of the doom that sickness and disease the famine that they're not they want him to be able to see hear and understand the word or within he who is in the field shall die by the sword famine and the plague will be consumed those in the city in other words in the field means the world they're going to die by the curse and famine famine they're not going to have any understanding about the word of God they're believing what is false and the plague sickness and disease is going to consume those who are in the church how many of you see that today? do you see that there? now verse 16 even when there are few survivors escape you know who that's going to you know who's going to be some survivors escape? that's us and we're doing a little moaning right now they'll be on the mountains like doves of the valley all them mourning each over his own iniquity all hands are going to hang limp and all knees will become like water are we are we moaning now about our iniquities and sins that's the one that's going to be an escape remnant now and then verse 19 they shall fling their silver and their gold in the streets a little later on their gold shall become an abhorrent thing their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of what? the wrath of the Lord that is a great tribulation of God he's going to destroy right here that is his flood that's the end that's coming and he's bringing doom and here's what it looks like here's what the flood is verse 24 therefore I'm going to bring the worst of the powers of darkness I'm going to bring the very worst of the demons and they're going to possess their houses they're going to break into their houses that's the ones that do not know God or obey his gospel I shall make the pride of the strong ones the strong ones that lead the strong leaders of flesh that mislead others I'm going to make the strong ones cease and their holy places will be profaned when the powers of darkness move in that's a flood the sons of destruction when anguish comes they will seek peace they're going to see when this judgment's all over they're going to seek peace but there's not going to be none disaster here is rumor and rumor and disaster disaster is going to come upon disaster you're going to hear about hell falling all over the place and you're just fixing to start hearing it there's going to be disaster upon disaster they won't be good reports they're going to be bad reports of destruction and death and plague rumor will be added to rumor they'll seek a vision from a prophet but what? I can't hear you the law of the Lord is lost is it lost to the harlot church today? it's absolutely but the law will be lost from the priests and counsel from the elders they're not going to have any understanding the king that's lords over God's heritage that's running leading people astray will mourn and the princes that's the leaders are going to be clothed with horror you know how you're clothed with horror? that's a curse it's going to be you're clothed with horror the powers of darkness will just cover you absolutely that's true brother and the hands of the people of the land will tremble there they're going to tremble according to their conduct they're going to shake to pieces they'll have fear and nervousness and worry and dread are going to be now here's the righteous judgment of God this is the tribulation according to their conduct I shall deal with them and by their judgments that they placed on other people I shall judge them and then they will know that I am the Lord I'm the Lord because he's going to destroy everything that exalts itself above God and only one person is being exalted in that day when he gets through and that'll going to be the Lord and those that exalt him on Mount Zion are the only ones that's going to remain back up to chapter 6 verse 14 well I'm having to leave you know I'm having to skip a lot of things but we'll just go verse 14 moreover I'm going to make you a desolation now he makes you a desolation by sending the abomination which is the flood the powers of darkness verse 15 so it'll be a reproach a reviling a warning an object of horror to the nations who surround you when I execute judgments against you and anger and wrath and raging rebukes when I send against when I send against them the deadly arrows of famine now you know what the arrows are that's demons they're always arrows and pardon me oh I'm sorry yeah I did I didn't I'm sorry I'm in chapter 5 there verse 16 when I send against the deadly arrows of famine which were for the destruction of those whom I shall send to what? the powers of darkness which are being sent in destruction and famine destroyed then I shall intensify the famine among you and break the self of bread now I want you to know look at me folks I want you to get this picture everybody look at me this is very important the powers of darkness are a cloud they'll come as a cloud and when they come on you the sun will be darkened the moon will not give its light you'll be on total midnight spiritual darkness you won't be able to hear see or understand because you do not have a heart for God and because you have turned back and do not obey the gospel the stars will fall out of the heavenly all the people that were walking in the heavenlies you're going to be walking in loss and you lose your brightness and you fall out of the heavenlies so you hear what I'm saying? now verse 17 moral vows you famine and when you have a famine of the word when you have a famine of the word folks you walk in lawlessness and the powers of darkness you're walking in transgressions and the powers of darkness are just devouring they get all the ground kind of grounded a famine of the word if you're having a famine of the word if you're having a famine of the bread of the spiritual food of God there's no hope for you until it's broken the only way you can be saved is to have the truth and so you can be cleansed and washed and sanctified so you can be saved moreover I will send on you famine and wild beasts and they'll bereave you of children plague and bloodshed also will pass through you and I'll bring this curse on you the Lord has spoken now look and we see in what's happening there in verse 7 and the slain will fall among you and you're going to know that I'm the Lord now here's the remnant however I shall leave a remnant now you can always think of this as thine you're going to see it over and over a remnant for you will have those who's going to escape the curse Amen look in verse 9 then those of you who escape as thine will remember me among the nations to which they will be carried captive now I have been hurt by their adulterous hearts of lawlessness which turned away from me and by their eyes which played the harlot in other words you're not led by the spirit of God look at me folks the lust of the eyes is for your heart to follow after what you see instead of to follow after the one who created you Amen and so I've been hurt by your adulterous hearts which have played the harlot after their idols which your eyes have seen do not love the world or the things in the world because if anyone does not love if anyone loves the world or the things of love he doesn't really have a love for the Father he's following after the lust of his eyes in adultery are you hearing me? Amen now and they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed for all their abominations and I want you just at one verse I want to add right there in verse 13 then you're going to know that I'm the Lord when they're slain are among their idols around their altars let me ask you something look at me here so you'll understand this folks there's a harlot today where they have their altars offering sacrifices to their idols and everything and when they fall in sickness and disease and plague and pestilence don't they bury them right outside around their altar? huh? let's read this verse then you're going to know that I'm the Lord when they're slain are among their idols around their altars on every high hill and all the tops of the mountains another evergreen tree under every leafy oak the places that's the church houses where they've offered soothing aromas to their idols and so that's why the sickness and disease there's not supposed to be any sickness and disease on the body of Christ amen? and so they fall you fall right around your altars and that's exactly what is happening there so then right after Amos is a little book called Obadiah and if you don't find Amos you'll never see it I want you to see something about the day of the Lord ok? I almost didn't use that book because I can't pronounce it you couldn't either that's the reason you thought I said it Obadiah verse 15 now I tell you what I missed something right there I want you to hold your place please and I want you to go back to hold your place in Obadiah we'll start back there in a minute I want you to go to Acts 13 please Acts 13 Acts 13 verse 40 you are warned right here to take heed therefore so that the things spoken of in the prophets which you will be looking at there may not come upon you do you know the things spoken of in the prophets we've already seen it in Jeremiah and everything do you know what that is? that's the powers of darkness that's the curse that's the flood that's the sun of destruction Amen? that's for those who walk in transgression this is what Paul is saying here you better take heed so that this curse spoken of in the prophets may not come upon you behold you scoffers that scoff about the powers of darkness you may be endued by the very things you revile but these things you're destroyed behold you scoffers and marvel and perish for I'm accomplishing a work in your days a work which you will never believe though someone should describe it to you can you imagine going out and trying to describe what we've seen here in the word of God to someone they'd laugh you smack out of town no way that's what a scoffer is they can't hear they can't hear, see or understand now if you go back to Acts 3 please Acts 3 in Acts 3 verse 22 Moses said the Lord God shall raise up for you a prophet now I want to tell you who that prophet is that the Lord God is going to raise up who Moses is talking about it's about the Lord Jesus Christ and let me ask you something right here I want everybody to look at it if the Lord Jesus Christ did he bring the gospel did that gospel cause you to fulfill God's law if you don't obey that gospel you deny the power of God are you going to be destroyed by the powers of darkness that come upon you is that right that's exactly what this says right here verse 22 Moses said the Lord God shall raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren to him you shall give heed in everything he says to you that's the gospel you better give heed to everything Jesus says and it shall be the ever soul that does not give heed to that gospel of the prophet the Lord Jesus Christ shall utterly be what you're going to be destroyed from among the people and that's how you move the wicked from the righteous and that's what sickness and disease and all the curses do we see thou they carry them out amen and likewise all the prophets now watch this verse right here all the prophets do you see all the prophets who have spoken from Samuel and his successors onward they have what announced these days of destruction for those who do not obey the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and that's what we're reading about over there and it's called the day of the Lord amen
