Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Sermon Transcription
To proclaim the fable year our Lord and the day of vengeance of our God and comfort those who mourn. He's clothed us with garments of salvation. He's wrapped us with the robe of righteousness like a bridegroom who decks himself with a garden and a bride who adorns herself with her jewels. He keeps us from stumbling. He makes us stand in the glory of his presence, holy, blameless, beyond reproach, with great joy. The only wise God is our Savior who is Jesus Christ our Lord. And to him be glory and majesty, dominion and authority before all time, now and forever. And now Lord we just receive your word and Lord we submit to you. I just give you my will that your will prevail. And now Lord we receive the fruit of the Spirit, the weapon of our warfare and we separate and seal by the blood all the works of darkness. And all the works of darkness that come in through unbelief and doubt and resistance of word. I hold the word and the blood against you. You are bound in the name of Jesus. All religious spirits, every religious stronghold is sealed by the blood and bound. Ever all spiritual pride, all spirit of error is separated and sealed by the blood that you'll not hinder the word. And every work of intimidation and fear, confusion, distraction, restlessness, every work of unbelief, legalism, traditions and fear, suspicion in Jesus name is sealed by the blood and bound. Every work of darkness is sealed. It's removed now in the name of Jesus. And in Jesus name I speak peace and blessings and healing and deliverance in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I love you. Hug someone and love them and sit down please. I'd like to ask you to take real good notes today because we're going to tie this in to where we left off Wednesday night. We saw beginning and we saw and I'm just going to give a review here that we looked at being tested in James 1 but the various trials at this testing of your faith with using a shield of faith produces endurance. We saw how the temptations of the lust comes from the powers of darkness and said brethren don't be deceived about this. And so you better be quick to hear. You better be slow to speak, slow to anger. We see you going to be a doer of the word and not merely a hearer because hearers delude themselves. In other words you're walking in the word and you'll know that you're in the word because you look in the mirror, the word. And you're not the kind of man that's forgotten what kind of person he is when you read the word. When you read the word you take the word to heart. It's implanted in you which is able to save your soul. And we were warned to so speak and we better act or fruit and walk as those being judged by the law of liberty because when you're, when the judgment is merciless through you, it's going to be merciless from God. The judgment will be. We went on to see that if a man does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man and he's able to bridle the rest of his body if he watches his mouth, if he control his mouth and not agree with the flesh and the devil. So we saw plainly that adulterous is someone who blesses the Lord and curses men in slander, gossip, condemnation, unforgiveness and whatever. From the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, things ought not to be this way. We see that their prayers are not answered because there's a wrong motive in their heart and their problem is selfish ambition which is all the world, flesh, and demonic which we saw in James 3 14 and 15 there's a source of it. We also saw in James 4 6 through 10 that how you can cleanse the land, how you can cleanse your heart, how you repent from all these things and turn from all these things. And then after that comes James 5 14 and 15 that says when you anoint with oil they will be restored. They will be restored because the prayer of a righteous man availeth much, not of a double-minded adulteress. There's a difference. And so we also saw in 1 Peter 1 14 and 15 that as obedient children of God we're no longer, we're no longer, we're no longer conformed to the former lust rebellion which was ours in our ignorance. But now like the Holy One we're going to be holy in all, all, all our behavior. Also we, in Ephesians, we looked at the Scripture in 5, Ephesians 5, that we're to be imitators of God, a beloved children, and this is proper among the saints, the church. You don't even let immorality, impurity, greed even may be named among you as proper among the saints. We also saw in verse 5, for this you can know with certainty that no immoral, impure person or a covetous man who is an adulterer has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ. And it goes on to say do not let anyone deceive you with empty words, but because of these very things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, so you're warned not to be partakers with them. Turn over to Ezekiel 34, please. To Ezekiel 34, please. Ezekiel 34 is about the shepherds who do not feed the flock and they're scattered. And we see in verse 8, as I live declares the Lord God, surely because my flock has become a prey, my flock has even become food for all the beasts of the field, for the lack of a shepherd. And then we see the problem with that congregation we see in verse 18. He finally says to the shepherd, is it too slight a thing, Mr. Shepherd, for you that you should feed in a good pasture? This good pasture is this Word of God that we're reading in right now. That you, Mr. Shepherd, you just tread down with your feet, you just tread down the rest of the Word, the rest of the pasture. You just pick and choose through it. Or that you should come, that you should drink of the clear waters. This is this Word of God that you just fowl the rest of it with your feet. You pick to what you want. It's going to make you look good. Verse 19, as for my flock, they must eat what you've tread down with your feet and they must drink what you fowl with your feet. After you've got to walk into it, Mr. Shepherd, and picking and choosing what you want, and you pick out what will make you look good, and walk through the rest, they get what's left. Then there's what kind of flock you have back in Ezekiel 33. Verse 30, here they come. But as for you, son of man, your fellow citizens, who talk about you by the walls, in the doorways of the houses, they speak to one another, each to his brother, saying, Come now and hear what the message is that comes forth from the Lord. Ho hum. And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people. Please mark as my people. They act like they're my people. And they hear your words, but they do not do the Word of God. What do they do? For they do the lustful desires expressed by their mouth, rebellion. That's where their heart is. And their heart is going after gain, the world, themselves. And behold, you're to them like a sensual song, but one who has a beautiful voice and plays well on instrument. For they hear your words, but they do not practice them. I want to read to you once again in Colossians 3, verses 5. We know that we have died. We have our mind. Verse 1 and verse 2, we have our minds set on the things above. We do not have our minds set on the things of the earth. I suggest that you just read through Romans 8 with this. Study that. For you have died. And now in verse 5, Therefore consider the members of your earthly body. Our body is dead. We're dead to immorality. We're dead to impurity. We're dead to passion. We're dead to evil desire and greed. All of these things amount to idolatry. It's on account of these things that the wrath of God is going to come. And in them it's going to come on these things. And the people are to practice them. And in them you once walked. You once walked. You once walked. You once walked when you were. You were. You were living in. But now you put them all aside. Now if it's not coming out of your mouth, it's not in your heart. But if it's in your heart, it's going to come out your mouth. There they are. Watch at it. Anger. There is wrath. There is malice. There is slander. There is abusive speech from your mouth. Now I want you to look with me in Romans 1, please. Now if you've got a false security, these things are acceptable. Because plainly we've seen in 2nd, we saw in 2nd Timothy 4, 3 and 4, that people in the last days, that people are not going to endure sound doctrine, but they're going to, they were going to find teachers and doctrines and things that are going to tickle their ears so they can live in their own lifestyle and world, fleshly desires. Then they turn their ears away from the truth. And so now in Colossians so they protect, protect the carnal doctrine. We see it start in verse, Romans 1, verse 18. We saw the wrath of God is coming on those who practice such things. We see in verse 18, for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven. It's going to reveal against all, all, all, all, all what? All ungodliness and all unrighteousness of the men who suppress the truth and unrighteousness, who defend the doctrines of ungodliness and unrighteousness and carnality. Verse 21, even though they know God, they don't honor Him as God or give thanks, but they become, they became futile in their speculation. That's their controversial questions and their foolish heart is doctrine. They're wise in their own eyes, professing to be wise. They become fools. Verse 24, therefore God has given over to the lust of their heart and there is that impurity which you saw is not going to enter in the kingdom of God. That's what they're giving over to. Verse 25, they exchange a truth of God for a lie, traditions, and they worship and serve the creature. In this case today, it's man. Bow their hearts to men. Verse, verse 29, they're filled with all unrighteousness. There's the fruit you see in there is greed. It's in their heart and coming out their mouth. Envy, it's in their heart and coming out their mouth. Strife, it's in their heart and coming out their mouth. Gossip, it's in the heart and coming out their mouth. Slandering, it's in their heart and coming out their mouth. Arrogant and boastful, it's in their heart and coming out their mouth. They're without understanding. That's the same thing we saw in 1st Timothy 6 that when you have another doctrine you are without understanding. That's the same congregation in 2nd Timothy 3 that bore this same fruit. They're ever learning and never able to come to the new knowledge of truth. Ever learning, always learning, and learning and learning and and learning and learning and learning and learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. They're without understanding. They're unloving, unmerciful. Although they know the Word of God that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but they give hearty approval to the others to practice it. And chapter 2, verse 2. We know the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who are practicing these things. They're practicing these things. It's idolatry. Verse 5. But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, here it is, your stored-up wrath, the wrath of God is coming on those who practice such things. For yourself in a day of wrath and a revelation of the righteous judgment of God. He's going to render to every man according to his fruit, walk, deeds. To those who perverse spirits in doing good, that's walking in the Word, they seek for glory, honor, and immortality. They get the eternal life. Here's the opposite of it. You see the first word in verse 8 is but. Here's the opposite. But those who are selfish, ambitious, who are still living for their self and defending this ungodliness and unrighteousness, to those who are selfish and ambitious and do not obey the Word, the truth, but they obey unrighteousness, here's what they get, wrath and indignation. The opposite of eternal life. Verse 13. For it's the hearers of the Word of God that's just before God. I mean, it's not the hearers of the Word. Law are just before God, but it's the doers of the Word who will be justified. Turn with me to Galatians 5, please. If Jesus Christ becomes your Lord, you will be led by the Spirit of God. I want to tell you today we're talking about the doctrines of men. In Galatians 5, very simply we saw in verse 16, if you walk or are led by the Spirit of God, which we saw in Romans 8, 14 and 13, that the sons of God are led by the Spirit of God. And if you're led by the Spirit of God, you will not, you will not, you will not, you will not carry out this rebellion. You will not. And then we saw the two different kinds of fruit of a person. The deeds of rebellion are the fruit of the flesh, which is impurity, idolatry, jealousy, and all the other things. Then below it, we saw, well, we saw that those who practice these things, they will not inherit the kingdom of God. We saw in verse 22 through 24 the opposite, which is when you're led by the Spirit of God, you put to death the deeds of the flesh and we see that the fruit of the Spirit, what the fruit of the Spirit is, and against such things there is no law or judgment because there's no rebellion in anyone's heart who are led in this manner. Who follow the Spirit of God, there's no more rebellion in their heart, so there's no law or judgment against them. And plainly, verse 24, those who belong to the Lord Jesus Christ have crucified the flesh desires. Is that what your Bible says? All right, now, we go to chapter 6 and we see how you sow. How do you sow? We saw that over in James 3. You either sow to the flesh, which is rebellion and death, or you sow to the Spirit, which is life and peace. Amen? Now, in chapter 6, verse 7, do not be deceived. That got in our Bible because that's exactly where the devil wants to deceive you. This is a warning for God. Don't be deceived about what? God is not mocked for whatever man sows this, he will also reap for one who sows to his own flesh. Now, Mark sows an own flesh. We're talking about he sows out of his mouth and heart comes rebellion. Shall from this flesh he will reap corruption. That's what he's going to get for it. But here are the opposite of corruption and wrath. But the one who sows for the Spirit, this is the one that puts to death the deeds of the flesh. And his heart is washed from all rebellion. Shall from the Spirit he is the one that's going to reap eternal life. Amen? Now, we know... Oh, let's just go ahead in verse 12. Those who desire to make a good showing in the flesh try to compel you to be circumcised, be like them, simply that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. That's where they're living in the flesh. It's always looking good outside like Matthew 23 had showed us. For those who are circumcised do not even keep the law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised so they exploit you, just like 2 Peter said about the false teachers and false prophets, so they can boast in your flesh. But may it never be that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world, the world, the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. You die to the world because you're living for the things in heaven. Verse 15. For neither is circumcision anything nor uncircumcision. But what is it? A new creation. We are a new creation in Christ Jesus. The creation of Adam fell and we are a new creation. All right now, 16. And those who are going to what? Walk by this rule. Walk by what rule? The new creation in Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away. All things become new. As Jesus Christ is the world, so are you. What do they get? That's peace and mercy upon them. And who are they? This is Israel of God, the spiritual Israel of God. Now, turn with me to Matthew 15. I think you should have a clear understanding of the doctrines of demons today, what they are. Matthew 15. Now, did we see in Romans 1 that the judgment of God is on those who practice such things? They're worthy of death. If these things are in their heart, what's coming out their mouth? All of these things, there's rebellion in their heart and they're drawn near to God. And they're pretenders. That's what adulterers is. They're pretenders. You remember what we said in Psalm 81, 15. Those that hate the Lord are the ones that pretend obedience to Him. And their time of punishment is forever. Now, we see it again right here in verse 18. Matthew 15, verse 18. But the things, that's the fruit and words, that proceed out of the mouth, will you please mark out of the mouth, that come out of the mouth. Where do they come from? They come from the heart. Please mark the heart. It comes from the heart and these are the things that defiles the man. His heart's divided. For out of the heart comes evil thoughts and things we've been talking about. Out of his heart, they're there. That's where his heart's living for. Murders, adulteries, fornication, there's theft, false witness, there are slanders, lust of the heart. These are the things that defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands, always cleaning the outside flesh, does not defile a man. So what did he say about these people who are drawn, that come with defiled hearts and walking double-minded? The same thing he said in James 3. They are adulteresses. They are pretenders. They speak blessings and they speak curses. And what do you call them? Jesus already always trying to please people. In verse 7 he said, you hypocrites. Verse 8, these people are honoring me with their mouth. They honor me with their mouth. They honor me with their mouth, but their heart is defiled and divided and is still in agreement with the rebellion. It's far from me. Now verse 9, what does he say about a people like this? In vain, in vain, in vain, in vain do they worship me. If you want to write in big letters there, lost. How do they get to be to a place like that they can worship God? Because they're teaching us doctrines, the opinions of men. They find insecurity in the precepts of men rather than the Word of God. That's the difference in a hearer and a doer of the Word of God. Now, verse 14, let them alone because they're blind guides of the blind and if a blind man guides or a blind teacher guides a blind man both will fall into the pit. Please turn with me to Titus and remember don't get mad at me, you're reading your Bible. Titus 1, you got a problem with Jesus. Now, the opposite of a pure heart is impurity. We saw the judgment of God on all impurity. Now, Titus 1, verse 15, to the pure, please circle to the pure. All things are pure, but... Now, here's opposite of a pure heart, but to those who are defiled, please circle defiled. That is exactly what we saw. That's a divided heart, that's adulterous, that's someone who speaks blesses and curses. They're defiled and unbelieving. A defiled heart is an unbelieving heart. Draw you a line between the two of them. That is an unbelieving person who will not come to the Word of God and his heart will not be washed by the Word of God. That's defiled and unbelieving. Nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but by their deeds walk fruit. They're denying, they're detestable, they're disobedient, and they're worthless for the good works of the Lord Jesus Christ, good deeds. Amen? Next chapter 2, verse 11, For the grace of God has appeared, he bringing salvation to all men. And this grace of God and this salvation instructs you in verse 12 to deny. You deny, you deny ungodliness, you deny worldly desires, you live sensibly, and there's that word righteously. That's right in God's eyes and godly in this present age. Chapter 3, verse 3, For we were once were foolish ourselves. We were disobedient. We were deceived. We were enslaved to these various lusts and pleasures. That's where we were. We were also, we once was there. We were spending our life in malice, selfishness. We were spending our life in envy. We were spending our life being hateful. We were hating one another. But then the kindness of God, our savoriness, love appeared. That is repentance. The kindness of God leads you to repentance, to change your heart. And verse 5, He saved us. He saved us, not on the deeds which we've done and right, but according to His mercy, and here's how He did it. He saved us by the washing, that's the word of God, a regeneration, being born again by the word of God. You wash all rebellion away. You come to the word of God because you love Jesus with all your heart. That's why you call Him Lord. Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and not do what I say? The washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit. Now, please look with me back in Jeremiah 4. Jeremiah 4, please. Jeremiah 4. You're washed by the word of God, but you cannot be washed by the word of God when you've got a security somewhere besides the Lord Jesus Christ. If Jesus Christ is just one of your idols, you cannot be washed to the word of God. You have a divided heart. He will not be one of your idols. Now, Jeremiah 4, verse 14. Wash your heart. Wash your heart. Wash your heart from evil, O Jerusalem. Are we supposed to be the heavenly Jerusalem? That you may be saved. Wash your heart that you might be saved. Wash your heart that you might be saved. How long will your wicked thoughts lodge within you? Look at me, folks. Please look at me. All that hate and anger and rebellion and everything, I'm telling you, when your heart is living, pure, and for Lord Jesus Christ, those thoughts don't lodge there. You resist them. You'll not meditate on slander. You'll not meditate on gossip. You'll not meditate on rebellion. Those wicked thoughts of the devil will not lodge there. That's what you're in a war to resist it going into your heart. Amen? So you better wash your heart that you might be saved. Verse 21. How long must I keep seeing the word of God? How long must I keep seeing this word of God and have my heart just hardened to it? How long must I keep seeing the standard and keep hearing the sound of the trumpet? And you just keep being warned and warned and resist the word and resist the word. I'll tell you tomorrow, we're going to show that the sin and the death is resisting and resisting the word of God. You get to a place you can never come to the word of God. That's because there's no fear of God in you. No fear of God there. Now verse 22. For my people are foolish. They know me not. They're lost. They know me not. They're stupid children. They have no understanding. They have no understanding. They're ever learning, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. They have idols in their heart. They are shrewd to do evil, deceit, lust, but to do good they do not know. I want you to turn with me to 1 Timothy 6, please. 1 Timothy 6. It doesn't have to have a whole lot of comment when it's this plain, does it? I don't think I can add anything to that. Can you? Now, I'll read it again. 1 Timothy 6, verse 3. If anyone advocates a different doctrine, a different doctrine, another gospel, another Jesus, and he does not agree with these sound words, these sound words, you know what that sound words are? That's all the word of God. That is the gospel. Every jot and tittle is the gospel. If anyone advocates a different doctrine and he does not agree with these sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with this doctrine that conforms you to godliness that you can have a doctrine and you can still walk in ungodliness and unrighteousness, you've got another gospel and another doctrine that's got your heart and captured your heart. He's conceded. They understand nothing without understanding, ever learning, never able to come to the knowledge of truth, but these folks have a morbid interest. They have a morbid interest in controversial questions, just speculation and talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, controversial questions, and they like to dispute about words and words and words and words and words and words out of which writhe, and this is always their envy, strife. There's abusive language and evil suspicion, and that's how you get pushed off a cliff over the truth. Five, there's constant friction. There's opposition between men of a depraved mind. They are deprived of the truth of God. They suppose that godliness, that godliness is a means of gain for their flesh, that they can have names, reputation, live for self, and be one with Jesus and walk like the devil. That's a lie. Turn with me to Mark 7, please. I want to remind you again, I'm talking about the love walk. I'm talking about devilish, weak, dying to all selfish and covered with all your heart, a pure heart to the Lord Jesus Christ so God can be God through you can touch. So you'll be a tree of life everywhere you go instead of a tree of death. God doesn't cooperate with the flesh. It's a wrong motive. We already saw that in James 4. He doesn't cooperate with it. Now, in Mark 7, verse 20, and he was saying, that which proceeds out of the man is that. That is what defiles a man. What comes out of your mouth? I mean, when rebellion comes out of your mouth, you've got a defiled heart if you don't repent and turn away from it and cleanse it. The Word of God's not cleansing you. It's not washing you from evil because your heart's in agreement with it. You love it, that's the reason you're doing it. And if you keep practicing it, if you won't receive chastisement over it and turn from it, it'll come to an idol and you're not in a very secure place when you have idols. Now, verse 21, For from within, please circle from within, within, within, out of the heart. Here's where it's all coming from, out of the heart. With the heart man believes into righteousness and with the heart man believes into unrighteousness. For within, out of the heart of men, here's what proceed. Here come these evil thoughts, fornication, theft, murders and adulteries. It comes out your mouth, it's in your heart. Verse 22, There are deeds of coveting, there is wickedness. Out of the mouth is coming deceit. Out of the mouth is coming sensuality. Out of the mouth is coming envy and slander. Out of the mouth is coming pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within. That within is the heart and this man is defiled. He is defiled. Look at verse 6, And he said, once again, Isaiah prophesied, you hypocrites. These people are honoring me with their lips. I don't have their heart. They're double-minded, adulteresses. That's the harlot and fallen away of the last days. Their heart is far away from me. In vain, in vain, they're wasting their time. In vain are they worshiping me. They're teaching as these doctrines of ungodliness and unrighteousness the precepts and opinions of men. And he's capturing their heart. So when your heart goes after doctrines of ungodliness that does not conform with the sound words of Jesus, here is what you're doing in verse 8. You're neglecting the commandment of God and you keep holding on to the tradition of men. So in this way he was saying to them, you just nicely set aside this word and commandment of God in order to keep your tradition because his traditions and doctrines have your heart. I don't have your heart. That's the reason you're drawing near their mouth and your heart's far from me. Now in verse 13, In this manner you invalidate the word of God. You make it no effect by your tradition which has your heart, which you have handed down. It's handed down. It's handed down and handed down. And you do many things such as that. That's how you get another gospel, another Jesus, and that other gospel. The doctrines of Satan have not changed since Genesis 3, 4 when he told Eve, Come and eat of this tree of death. Come and have some of this rebellion toward God. Come and eat of this, lust of flesh, the lusty eyes, and the boastful pride of life. Be in rebellion to God. It's all right. You surely shall not die. Hey, come over here and participate in this doctrine of ungodliness. We'll tickle your ears. You can live with a divided heart. Come over here. We'll give you a security. Come on over here. Look how good we got things looking here. Oh, I'll tell you what. You can really help God out over here while we exploit you and use you. Come over here and serve our kings, men. Gather your hearts around men instead of around Jesus. Come on, just bow your heart there, Mr. Academic. Intellect? World? Yes, sir. While they puff you up and tell you on Sunday morning how righteous you are in your stubbornness, stiff-necked rebellion. How you help God out in your tithe. He's broke. Folks, you're looking at Doctrines of Demons in the last days. That Doctrines of Demons started over in Genesis 3, 4. In the last days, there'll be a great falling away. Falling away people will not know they've fallen away unless their hearts are turned to Jesus. You either get mad or you get glad when you hear this. You'll either come to light and you'll hate darkness or you'll still love darkness and you'll hate the light. And if you don't come to light, you're adulterous, you're lost, and you've got a hell waiting on you. Isaiah 29. You surely shall not die. You just eat this lust rebellion. Just take it into your heart and just spew it out all over the world. You just run your mouth against heaven. You just love the words that devour. Isaiah 29. All right? In Isaiah 29, we see these same people right there in verse 13. This is where this was taken from. The Lord said it got over in the New Testament. I guess it's all right to look over here, isn't it? I don't believe nobody's going to get us anymore. Who'll harm him who follows after that which is good? Verse 13. Then the Lord said, Because this people they draw near with their words. They draw near with their words and they honor me with their lip service. Where's their hearts? Their heart is removed far from me, and the reverence for me consists of these traditions that I've told you about. That's what has their heart, their traditions. Watch what God lets happen to people who draw near to their heart. We draw near the mouth and the heart's not with him. Going to make Jesus one of their idols. Make God one of their idols. Verse 9. Be delayed and wait. Just blind yourselves and be blind. You're going to be drunk but not with wine. You're going to stagger but not with strong drink. Look at me, folks. Here it is in the last day. Here they are. They're staggering and stumbling. That's one of the curses. And if you read Deuteronomy 28, you know we're not supposed to read that part of the Bible. But over there, one of them, that you'll stumble at noonday. Noonday is the most light part of the day. What it's talking about, you stumble, you're going to be stumbling in spiritual darkness. That's what the stumbling is. So they're going to be blind, can't see, they're going to stumble. And then he said, verse 10, here's what God, he moves the hedge on people. It's gone. The Lord just pours over you a spirit of deep sleep. If you want to, right in there. Them, when he removes the hedge, there they come. All you deluding religious demons that promote everything but coming to Jesus with a whole heart and godliness and righteousness and holiness. Here they come. He has shut your eyes, the prophet. He's covered your heads of seers. And in verse 11, the entire vision of this book is going to be like words of a sealed book. That's the way. You can't see it. You're blinded to it. You're blinded because the idol in your heart has blinded your eyes. And that's how you, without any understanding, you're deprived of the truth because you don't come to the Lord with a whole heart. You're going to come with a divided heart. He lets a deluding influence come over you. You'll find false security. You'll be ever learning, never able to come to the truth. You'll never be able to come to the truth because you become wise in your own eyes. You become a fool because you want to make God, want to make Jesus one of your idols. That's not covenant. Covenant's when two become one. Now, verse 14. I'm just going to read the last part. The wisdom of their wise men are going to perish and watch what happens to them. While the powers of darkness have them, the discernment of their discerning men is going to be concealed and they'll never, never, never, never, never, never listen to me, they'll never, never, never, ever, ever, never, ever know until they repent. And you see that last, same thing I'm telling you back over in 2 Timothy. You read 2 Timothy and I don't have time to get it there. Just make your mark right there and you'll see people doing the will of Satan. They're running their mouths in foolish and ignorant speculation and they're in the snares of the powers of darkness and they'll not know the truth until they repent. And then they'd be escaped from the snares of the devil who has helped them to do the will of Satan. Now, we look over there in verse 21. They cause a person to be indicted by word. They just ensnare him who adjudicates at the gate. They defraud the one in the right there. There it comes, that speculation, that foolish and ignorant, just meaningless arguments. Now, chapter 30, verse 1. Woe to these rebellious children! Their rebellious children, the prayers of the Lord, they execute a plan, program, or doctrine, but it's not mine. They make a lie. It's not of my spirit in order to add sin to sin. Verse 9, this is a rebellious people. They're in rebellion. It's in their heart and coming out of their mouth. This is rebellious people. They're false sons. They're false sons. They're not the sons of God because they're sons who refuse to listen to the word and instruction of the Lord who say to the seers, now, you must not see vision and to these prophets, now, you must not preach to us what is right. We're going back to Egypt. Tickle our ears. Speak to us pleasant words. Prophesy allusion. Tell us that we're righteousness and holiness in our obeying to God. Tell us how great, tell us how much we help God out. Tell us that God wouldn't make it without us. God, you come on down here and cooperate with us. You see what we're trying to do for you. You know what God sees? God, you're obligated to receive us the way we want to come. Get out of the way. Turn aside from the path. Let us hear no more about Jesus, the Holy One of Israel. 2 Corinthians 6, let God be true and every man be a liar. Everything that moves, breathes, walks, talks, crawls is a liar. Amen. In 2 Corinthians 6, verse 14, for the love of Christ. Wait a minute, I'm in five. Excuse me. Verse 14, do not be bound together with unbelievers. Do not be bound together with unbelievers for what partnership have righteousness and what partnership have righteousness with sin or lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? How can they join their hearts together? Verse 17, therefore come out from the midst and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch the things, do not touch what is unclean. I want you to mark unclean, unclean, unclean. You only deal with the clean. And then I'm going to welcome you and then I'm going to be a father to you and then you'll be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord God Almighty. The next verse in chapter 7, verse 1, therefore having these promises, therefore, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves. Let us cleanse our hearts from all rebellion. Let us cleanse ourselves from what? All, all, all, all, all defilement. That all, that defilement means you cleanse your heart from all rebellion of the flesh and the spirit and then the next part, you're going to perfect holiness and you will live in the fear of God. Amen. Amen. Now, chapter Ezekiel 22, please. Ezekiel 22. You see how the church of the last day, Babylon's going to be a dwelling place of demons. They're making a name for themselves, Babylon does. She said, I can't be a widow. Ezekiel 22, verse 23, And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Son of man, I want you to say to her, Where's the land at, folks? Look at me. Is this the land? You are a land that's not cleansed. Do you see it? You are not cleansed. It's not cleansed. You're not washed with the word or rained on. That rained on is the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. In the day of indignation. There is a conspiracy of her prophets and preachers in her midst. What is this conspiracy? They're saying the same thing to protect doctrines. Don't buck the system. The doctrine has the heart. The system has the heart. It's a conspiracy. They're all saying the same thing. And so there's a conspiracy of the prophets in her midst, like roaring lions. They're tearing the prey. They have devoured lives. They're captured with a form of godliness. They have taken treasure and precious things. They take a Lord's glory. They take a Lord's people. They have money, names, reputation, careers. And they have made many widows in her midst. There were many widows just right lost. They make them lost, many widows. Verse 26, her preachers, her priests have done violence to my law. That's perverted the Word of God, violence to the law. They have profaned my holy things. Leave out holiness and righteousness. They have made no distinction between the holy and profane. They have not talked the difference between the unclean and the clean because the devil himself can walk in and shake somebody's hands. He can be against everything God wants to do and remain a member in good standing as long as he can get counted and give nickels, noses, and numbers because it's another foundation. It's not the Word of God. Don't teach the difference between the clean and unclean. Leave that Scripture out to you not to be your unneedly yoke. Righteousness and darkness can walk together. That's contrary to the Word of God. That's doctrines and demons. And they hide their eyes from my Sabbath. That Sabbath's in Hebrews 3 and 4. That rest that we're into, we cease from the own works of the flesh. We cease from all the works. That's not an option. It got in there to do unless you've got another gospel. And I am profaned among them. They want to make everybody think that God looks like them. Her princes are leaders within them, within her. They're like wolves tearing the prey by shedding blood. They're destroying lives in order to get dishonest gain. That's exactly what you saw with another doctrine over in 1 Timothy 6 that godliness is a means of gain, that you can use God and the things of God you will for a season. And the chains of darkness is all over Paul's teaching. You remember in 2 Peter 2? He said judgment is not asleep. It's all over you. That judgment is you've covered your eyes up. And you're just going to have your way for a little season right here. Now, and her prophets, these preachers, have smeared whiteboards. That means they cover up everything, explain it away for them. They're seeing false vision, divining lies. They're traditions and doctrines of men. Thus says the Lord God when the people has not spoken, when the Lord has not spoken rather. In other words, they build after the flesh instead of producing the fruit of the Spirit of God. Verse 29, the people of the land have practiced oppression. In other words, they oppose spiritual things. They oppose them. And they committed robbery. They've wronged the poor. The poor is a loss. And the needy, which is the sick and afflicted, they've oppressed the sojourner without justice. I search for a man among them who should build up the wall, who'd stand in a gap before me for the land that it should not destroy it. But I found no one. I want them to stand in a gap for the land that I wouldn't destroy it. Look at me. When this land is in rebellion, I want you to know that destruction and death is working on it. Amen? Okay, verse 31, thus I've poured out my indignation on them. In other words, the hedge is removed. Here comes the powers of darkness. I've consumed them with the fire of my what? The wrath of God is on those who practice this rebellion. We've already seen. Their way, their way, circle their way. I brought upon their heads declares the Lord God. Turn back to Ezekiel 14, please. I want you to remember something we saw in 2 Corinthians 4, 3 and 4. The gospel is veiled to those who are perishing in whose case the God of this world is blinded to the minds of the unbelieving that they might not see the light of the gospel. You can't see the light of the gospel when something else has got your heart. Now, chapter 14, verse 1. Are there any elders of Israel today? Are there elders today? Then some elders of Israel came to me and sat down before me, and the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Son of man, these men have set up their idols. Where are their idols? It's in their heart. And they put right before their faces the stumbling block of their nickers. Should I be consoled by them? Look at me. Folks, when you've got an idol in your heart, you've got a spirit of sleep. You've got a veil in front of you. It's a stumbling block of a nicker right in front of your face. If there are things in your heart you love more than the Lord Jesus Christ, you're putting a veil right in front of you. That's the stumbling block right before your face, which he's talking about there in Ezekiel 14. All right, now I want you to watch what happens. These people have their idols in their heart. It's a stumbling, and before their faces is a stumbling block of their sin. It's a stumbling block of sin. Now verse 4, he says to this, Mr. Prophet, therefore speak to them and tell them, Thus says the Lord God, any man of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, in his heart, these idols are in his heart. He puts right before his face the stumbling block of his nicker. Then he wants to come to a prophet. I, the Lord, am he brought to give an answer in the matter and view of the multitude of his idols. You know what he said right here? Look at me, folks. He said, when you, when these people, when you talk to these people that have idols in their heart, Mr. Prophet, don't you be cute and let some of this flesh compassion run loose. I want to tell you what you do. You're going to bring me to answer them. How do you bring me to answer God? You say what I say. I told you my word of appointment. You say exactly what I say. You just leave your words out of it. You say what I'm to say. That's what I'm trying to do today. Why does he want to do that? Just say his own words. Verse five, this is the only way that he can lay hold of the hearts of the church, the house of Israel, who are estranged from me through idols. The only thing that will bring them back is the word of God and the fear of God. Amen? Therefore say to this house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God, repent and turn away from your idols and turn your faces away from all, all, all your abominations. For any one of the house of Israel or the immigrants who stand in it who separates himself from me, he sets up idols in his heart, he puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and then he wants to come to a prophet. He comes to this prophet to inquire of me, God, the word for himself. I, the Lord, am going to be brought to answer him in my own person, and I'm going to set my face against that man. I'm going to make him a sign and a proverb. I shall cut him off from among my people so you'll know that I'm the Lord. Now look at this. Mr. Prophet's going to build on another foundation. Watch what happens to him if he's got some other ideas. He wants to be wise in his own eyes, and he thinks he can kind of help God out and be a little smarter than God. There he is there in verse 9. But if this prophet or preacher is prevailed upon to speak a word, he's going to speak his own word. Sire of the Lord, it prevailed upon that prophet. I'm going to stretch out my hand against him, that prophet right there, and speak in his own words. I'm going to destroy him from among my people Israel, and this prophet right here, he's going to bear the punishment of their iniquity. All the inquirers, all the sins come on him when he starts speaking his own words instead of the word of God. People that represent God says what God says, and they're going to bear the punishment of their iniquity. As the iniquity in the choir is, so all the iniquity of the prophet will be, and all the sins are going to come on him when he compromises the word of God for anything, as it says, something different from God. Now, verse 11, all this is God's word is in order that the house of Israel, they will no longer stray. They're not going to stray away to another gospel, another Jesus that we saw over in 2 Corinthians 11. They'll no longer stray from me and no longer what? What's that word? They'll no longer defile themselves. Only the word of God will bring it back. Now, if you got you another gospel, another Jesus, you can make a name, you can gather around a lot of things, and you can just find a lot of security in it. This don't sound good. In order that the house of Israel may no longer stray from me and no longer defile themselves with all their transgressions. Thus, they're going to be my people, and then I'll be their God. Is that plain? Now, in a moment, this bell's going to ring, but I've got about four scriptures I'm going to carry over, and I'm going to show you something about the mark of God on the forehead to tie in here if you want to stay around now if the bell rings. Turn to Hosea 5. Hosea 5. Hosea 5. Verse 3, I know Ephraim and Israel is not hidden from me. I know, O Ephraim, you've played the harlot. Israel, what they've done, they defiled itself, and that's what a harlot is, walk with a defiled heart. Their deeds, their deeds that they walk, talk, their deeds will not allow them to return to their God. Why? Because there is a spirit of harlotry within them, and they do not know. They do not know. They don't know the Lord. Verse 7, they've dealt treacherously against the Lord, and they have born illegitimate children. Verse 11, Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment. Because why? Their hearts have been fallen, man's doctrines and commands. They're fallen men. Therefore, I'm like a moth to Ephraim. That's a curse and like rottenness. Rottenness and a moth is a curse. That's when the hedge is down. I'm like rottenness to the house of Judah. I'm like a moth to Ephraim. Now, please turn to me. We'll see this harlot in Revelation 17, please. Revelation 17. I just want to remind you once again, there's no way we can cover all this. We have to skip a lot of things with the time we have, and if you're considering any kind of tapes along this subject, I get asked for it. The Message to the Church in Lubbock was the last one right there, which covers these things more thoroughly, or the Pure Heart. Those two are the ones that I recommend to you. Now, in Revelation 17, we see the last part of verse 1 there, that, come here, I'm going to show you the judgment of the great harlot. And we see in verse 2, with whom the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth are what? They're made drunk with the wine. That's a teaching of our immorality. Now look here, folks. The blind lead the blind. The deceived and being deceived, what happens? When you're blind and when you're drunk, what are you going to do? You're going to make everybody else drunk too, isn't that right? Drunk with immorality. Now, verse 4, And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, and she has in her hand a cup full of abominations. Now that's what she's given to the people to drink. It's rebellion, the tree of death. And of the unclean things did you say come out from her midst and do not touch what is unclean? Is that what we were told? But that cup that she gives people is full of unclean things of her immorality. Verse 5, Upon her forehead a name was written, a mystery, Babylon the great. That's the whore harlot church. She's a mother. Mother is church of harlots. She produces harlots. That's what this church does with doctrines of demons. It's the mother of harlots and the abominations of the earth, the doctrines of ungodliness and unholiness. That's the church of the last day. Now in Revelation 18, verse 2, we see who's behind it all right here. Verse 2, And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, Fallen away! Fallen away is this whore harlot Babylon the great. She's become a dwelling place of demons. That's who's controlling the thing. She's a dwelling place of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. Verse 3, For all the nations have drunk of the teaching, that's her teaching, the wine of passion of her immorality. In Galatians 5, 24, Those who belong to the Lord Jesus Christ have died to this passion and flesh desires. And the kings of the earth, they've committed acts of immorality with her. The world, the same holidays, everything. They work together, the world. And the merchants of the earth, this is the businessmen, the merchants of the earth, they've just become rich by the wealth of her sensuality. Come in here and gather around this doctrine and get you some straw and brick. Let's start building. We want this to look good. Get your straw and brick. The same curses. There was a people of Egypt who helped the people of God in bondage. Wait a minute. There was a people of God that was helped in bondage before, wasn't there? Amen? They were helped in bondage before. And what were they doing? They were making straw and bricks, wasn't they? Did you ever notice the same curses that came on them and holding the people came back through, it's over in Revelation 2? All right, just quickly. And the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality and flesh. And I heard another voice from heaven saying, Come out of here, my people, that you may not participate in her sins, that you may not receive of her plagues. There's the plagues. And now, verse 7, To the degree that she glorified herself, self-glory, lived sensuously. She's making a name for herself, not Jesus. To the same degree, here's what she gets, remove the hedge, torment and mourning. Why? Because she's saying, we're in her heart, in her heart. Jesus is the king, I'm the queen. I'm not a widow. I've got a... I can't be lost. I'll never see mourning. One more place. Turn back there. Well, maybe two places. Revelation 14, Revelation 14, Revelation 14. And we see there, And behold, the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000, having his name and the name of his Father. Where was it? The name of the Father is written where? On the forehead. That's the opposite of the mark of the beast, isn't it? Isn't that right? Okay. We see in verse 3, they were singing a new song. Verse 4. These are the ones who have the mark of God on their forehead that have not been defiled with the women. That's the harlot babbling. They've not been defiled. Are you seeing it? They've not been defiled. They don't have defiled hearts. They have the mark of God. They don't sound like the bride that Jesus is coming after as holy and blameless. He might have meant that after all, right? They have kept themselves pure. That's the ones that have the mark of God. They have kept themselves pure. These are the ones that follow the Lord Jesus Christ wherever He goes. Is that plain? They follow the Lamb wherever He goes. The stranger they'll not follow. These have been purchased from men as the first fruits to God and to the Lamb. And no lie was found in their mouth because why? They're blameless and holy just like Jesus told them to be. Amen? Is that right? But we see the opposite of that over there in chapter 13, verse 11. This other beast, this babbling, this harlot, we see her, she is coming up out of the earth and he has two horns like a lamb. In other words, looks like the church. But it speaks. Well, you know what's coming out of his mouth? Curses. They're speaking blessings and curses. It's not the fruit of the Spirit. It's the wrong fruit. They look like the Lamb, but they speak like Satan. And that's exactly what we've been looking at all week. Lay aside all selfishness. Lay aside, die to all selfishness, self-centered, and come to the Lord with all your heart, with a pure heart. That is the walk of love. And the Spirit of God leads all who are the sons of God, and He leads the Son of God to put to death all the deeds of rebellion. That you might know Him, the power of His resurrection, the fellowship of His suffering, and in this way, in this suffering, in the flesh, in the ceasing of sin, you'll be conformed to the image of Jesus. That's a ministry of reconciliation. You fell through rebellion in Adam, and through the last Adam, you become restored. A ministry of reconciliation, back to the image and likeness of God. And that's what the Word does. It washes your heart from all rebellion when you let the Word receive it in plenty. I love you a bunch.
