Slander THIRD YEAR—SUBJECT 34

Slander

(READ JAMES 4)

Closely connected with evil speaking is slander, and behind slander we find the slanderer, both of which are bitterly condemned in the Old and New Testaments.

Many people not only speak evil of their brethren, but also circulate false reports without investigating to see if said report be true. They tell them in such a manner as to harm the brother or sister, forgetting that Jesus plainly teaches the things that we do to one of his children the same WE do to him.

If, then we can find out what slander is, and how it is condemned by the God of heaven, and we are striving to do his will, we must educate ourselves not to do the things condemned by him, or that will deprive us of heaven after death.
