The meekness of Christ is a fundamental aspect of his character, as depicted in the Bible, where he is described as being "gentle and lowly in heart" (Matthew 11:29). This meekness is exemplified in his willingness to serve others, as seen in his washing of the disciples' feet (John 13:5-15), and in his submission to God's will, even in the face of suffering and death (Philippians 2:8). The Bible teaches that Christ's meekness is a model for Christians to follow, as they are called to "clothe [themselves] with humility" (Colossians 3:12) and to trust in God's sovereignty, as expressed in Psalms 37:7, which encourages believers to "be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him." Through his meekness, Christ demonstrates the character of God, who is gracious and merciful, and invites believers to experience his peace and rest.
