Context — A Call to Repentance
18In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will come together from the land of the north to the land that I gave to your fathers as an inheritance.
19Then I said, ‘How I long to make you My sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of all the nations!’ I thought you would call Me ‘Father’ and never turn away from following Me. 20But as a woman may betray her husband, so you have betrayed Me, O house of Israel,” declares the LORD.Cross References

Jeremiah 3:18 Summary
[This verse is talking about a future time when the two groups of God's people, the house of Judah and the house of Israel, will come together and live in harmony with each other, just like they used to, as seen in Psalm 133:1. They will return to the land that God promised to their ancestors, which is a special place where God will bless and protect them, as promised in Deuteronomy 11:12. This is a reminder that God is always faithful to His promises and will one day bring all of His people together under His care and protection, as expressed in Jeremiah 29:11.]
