10 Bible Verses on New Covenant

10 verses

God's plan of redemption is marked by a significant shift from the old order to a new one, as foretold by the prophet Jeremiah. In Jeremiah 31:31-34, a new covenant is promised, one that will be written on the hearts of God's people, replacing the old covenant that was broken. The book of Hebrews, particularly in chapters 8 and 9, explains how Jesus' sacrifice has established this new covenant, as referenced in Luke 22:20, where Jesus institutes the Lord's Supper, symbolizing the new covenant in His blood. Through this new covenant, believers are reconciled to God, and the old covenant is rendered obsolete, as stated in Hebrews 8:13.

I will put My law in their minds and inscribe it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people. No longer will each man teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.”
