04 the Forerunner Message in Isaiah 11-12
Mike Bickle

Mike Bickle (1955 - ). American evangelical pastor, author, and founder of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), born in Kansas City, Missouri. Converted at 15 after hearing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach at a 1970 Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference, he pastored several St. Louis churches before founding Kansas City Fellowship in 1982, later Metro Christian Fellowship. In 1999, he launched IHOPKC, pioneering 24/7 prayer and worship, growing to 2,500 staff and including a Bible college until its closure in 2024. Bickle authored books like Passion for Jesus (1994), emphasizing intimacy with God, eschatology, and Israel’s spiritual role. Associated with the Kansas City Prophets in the 1980s, he briefly aligned with John Wimber’s Vineyard movement until 1996. Married to Diane since 1973, they have two sons. His teachings, broadcast globally, focused on prayer and prophecy but faced criticism for controversial prophetic claims. In 2023, Bickle was dismissed from IHOPKC following allegations of misconduct, leading to his withdrawal from public ministry. His influence persists through archived sermons despite ongoing debates about his legacy

Sermon Transcription
Pray and ask the Lord to touch us here Father we ask here in this glorious passage of Scripture, Isaiah 11 and 12 that Holy Spirit You would touch our hearts You would open our understanding yet again Show us what you want emphasized in the end time church from these pat these chapters Lord let us know why you want us to know this information in these two chapters And I thank you in Jesus name. Amen Those are two questions I ask Not every time but so often when I study one of these hundred fifty chapters. I say Holy Spirit What are you emphasizing? What are one or two points not a hundred one or two? You really want highlighted and then I asked the the companion question. It's kind of the same one Why do you want me to know this information? Because the information is given to us in advance because it's to affect our Perspective and then our emotions and the things we say About the Lord and his plan. So always carry that question. Why do you want me to know Isaiah 11? What is it? You want the church to say about Isaiah 11? And again, if you're not getting it all right away, which nobody is Understand that though you don't have all the details your paradigm your big picture your your your bigger picture view of it is shifting and and and the and the the larger pictures coming together in your Understanding and the details will land little by little as you stay with it Now one little thing I want to say to those that are following the notes on the Internet Every Friday I give these notes then Saturday I probably spend maybe six or seven hours Upgrading the notes I give on Friday. So on Saturday I put lots of hours because it's after I preach it and then it's after we have a discussion in the morning I get a lot of feedback from folks. I put this and put that and so then I Repost them on Monday. So Monday the Monday after is far better in my opinion Well far better, but it's more information and a bit more clear than the Friday so if if that is something you care about wait till Monday to get the notes or trade them in on Monday because I Always put a lot of time in it on Saturday and Sunday Sunday afternoon as well. I love it Well, look at Isaiah chapter 11 and 12 is what we're covering tonight Paragraph a just a point of review. I mentioned this last time that Isaiah 1911 we look at it last week 9 and 10. It's one unit 9 10 and 11, it's one unit. It's one sermon so to speak and it's parallel Isaiah 2 3 & 4 being one unit or One sermon if you will just to put it kind of in practical terms paragraph be a quick outline of Isaiah 11 and 12 we start off with the reign of Jesus Isaiah describes this glorious King Then he in verse 6 to 9 Talks about how he restores creation to the Garden of Eden conditions Then verse 10 he talks about how the Gentiles across the earth that he reveals himself to them. This is after his return then verse 11 to 16 how he rescues and restores and reveals himself to the remnant of Israel and Then chapter 12 is a song it's a song Sang by the remnant after they come to a revelation of Jesus. They sing this song and singers and musicians you want to tap into that song right now and sing it ahead of time and Not that you have to do it word for word, but you want to catch the the gist of what the Holy Spirit put in that song Paragraph see just a real quick overview of Chapter 11 just kind of a different way to say it first we see the results of Jesus's anointed leadership. He's got the he has the anointing of the Spirit in a sevenfold manifestation on his leadership Then he restores righteousness not just generically but the whole social order Of every nation in the earth is reordered and based on righteousness the whole social order then it shows us how he is zealous to destroy all of the enemies those that are resisting his leadership and By definition those that are resisting his definition of love Then he as we mentioned he Establishes the Garden of Eden conditions all around the world starts in Jerusalem. Then it works its way out He fills the earth with the glory of God he brings the Gentiles a great a Revelation of himself to the nations now. He does that before he returns by the Holy Spirit a great end time harvest But after he comes those Survivors of the Great Tribulation, they're unsaved and they survived There will be I'm assuming hundreds of millions maybe more and many many of them will get saved Under Jesus's leadership here on the earth Then it talks about how he rescues and unifies and fully restores Israel So that's kind of a snapshot of other Isaiah 11 paragraph B and paragraph C two different views of Isaiah 11 Just so when you're reading it you go. Okay. I kind of know the storyline a little bit here paragraph D This is again the question. I ask a lot. What do you want me to know about this chapter and why? One very very practical thing is that these promises? God through the prophets gave to the nation of Israel So that in their hours of suffering they've had many seasons of suffering They could recall where things are going And you know in Isaiah 40 were called to comfort Jerusalem Isaiah 40 says comfort ye comfort ye and one of the practical ways that we do it Not the only way is by declaring the storyline to them Because that's one of the ways God has comforted them through the years through the prophets But these words need to be in the lips of the people who love Yeshua who loved Jesus Because there's more and more people who don't know the storyline of the Old Testament prophets. I mean in the nation of Israel Let's look at Roman numeral two let's jump right into the first section and Remember we're looking at the forerunner message Meaning I'm not looking at every detail of this passage. There's so many fantastic Details that we could spend the entire session just on verse 1 to 5, but I'm wanting to highlight And you know I and just summarize the parts that are really important to the forerunner message First what's going on? Is that Isaiah's promising? That there's coming a great king now this most glorious Prophecy of chapter 11. I mean it's glorious it starts off in the most Unusual way he says there shall come verse 1 There shall come forth a root a rod Most translations say a shoot like a little stem just a little plant a little tender plant That's what this word rod most translations again say shoot this little tender shoot Will come from a stem or most translations say a stump So there's this glorious tree of Israel that's been cut down And it looks like everything is over and all that's left of the great Dynasty of King David and all the glory of God. It's 300 years later and the whole house of David is falling into ruins, but it's going to get worse after Isaiah's time and the Dynasty or the house of David the Kings that kingly line his family is going to get so bad That it's going to look like I'm not a mighty tree But a mere stump of a tree and out of that stump a little tender shoot grows. That's the word picture now when Israel reads this they're going a stump We're a mighty tree. No, which is no. No in Isaiah's day. They were already falling. They had not quite fallen yet He goes no, it's gonna get worse and Then the 2700 years since Isaiah the tree of Israel's been barely a little stump very Bad news if you would have heard this and understood what it meant But he said out of it's gonna be a little tender plant Of course that little tender plant is Jesus of Nazareth and that little tender plants Gonna come forth and at first Israel didn't pay much attention to him Didn't have any political position didn't have any academic degrees didn't have any wealth Didn't have any major following He only had 120 disciples at the end and a lot of his top guys Betrayed him and left him and they said he's coming forth as a little tender It says a rod here, but use the thing use the word shoot that that's again the more common translation So this the child that is going to be born to us remember from chapter 9 unto us is born a child a son is given that little child That little tender root. I mean that little tender shoot. There's coming out of a stem a tree cut down and The Lord says the whole future of the universe is based on that little Plant coming out of that little stump and you look at it Wow, you know Israel at the in Isaiah's generation was really in a severe backslidden state You know, it's so much like the Lord where they are in this backslidden state even his people In a real tough time and struggle. He still prophesies this glorious recovery in chapter 11, but he makes You know, he makes it very clear. They're starting in a very weak almost Against all odds hopeless situation, but the Lord assures them through Isaiah. It is not hopeless at all paragraph 2 now it says this little plant those little shoots going to come from this this the Stem or the stump the tree stump of Jesse. Who's Jesse, of course they everybody in Israel knew Jesse that was King David's father So through the family line of King David This tree stump is going to fully recover and the glory of God fills the earth in verse 9 We'll get there in a few moments the once flourishing tree of David the Family dynasty David and Solomon curse. It started going downhill pretty quick after that But in Isaiah's day only a mere tree stump a little stem That's all that existed a little bit after Isaiah's day and Israel's future looked very bleak, but the Lord says you have a glorious glorious future top of page two So we're gonna look at how this small Little shoot this little plant this man now He's a mighty man, but I mean in the eyes of the nation. They thought he was demonized a false prophet They said you have a demon in your false prophet. They didn't receive him at all So that's why not he wouldn't a little a little shoot to God and tender little plant only to God He was his beloved son and the father knew but in the eyes of man He was just a weak little plant about to be blown over by the winds of adversity So they thought Well, this little shoot is going to grow up And he's gonna be a mighty king the child the son that's born Chapter 9 the same passage the same sermon so to speak He's going to rule the nations under the anointing of the Holy Spirit Now to really understand this chapter you have to understand the context of when Jesus comes And you'll you know it anyway, but I just want to say it There will be the context of the nations not just Israel, but the nations of the earth but including Israel The the nations will be filled with desolate cities and in these desolate cities the local and the national economies will be broken and the political and social infrastructures will be corrupt and broken and It will look like there's no hope for the earth But a man will come on the scene who is anointed One man will put together the governments of the 200 nations of the earth by his wisdom and his power and his stability, and I can't fathom a Human being anointed yes resurrected body, but a man Fully God, but under the anointing of the Spirit. That's who the Messiah is and Isaiah sets him forth that way paragraph C Well these verses I give you you might not understand why I put it in there Revelation 16 It says a great earthquakes coming right before the Lord returns that shakes every mountain on the earth Imagine what it's gonna do the cities of every mountain on the earth is moved Great hell stones hundred-pound hell stones coming down on cities that's a Isaiah 61 Talks about they're gonna repair the ruined destroyed cities now. We're doing a bit of that even in this age But the cities right before the Lord returns are gonna be think of war torn Europe You can picture those you can imagine those or remember those pictures from right after World War two the cities were desolate Not all of them, but many of them, and it took many years to rebuild cities and nations, but the Lord's going to do it in an Tremendous leadership ability in the anointing of God upon him Israel and Zechariah 14 they will be surrounded by the nations it says verse 2 half the city will be taken into captivity and Taken away to a prison camp half the city will be taken as prisoners out of Jerusalem. I mean it's looking hopeless But Zacharias as well, but there's a remnant there and the Lord's gonna come down fight all the enemies save the remnant Then he's gonna go rescue the others that were taken out So the whole thing is going to turn around when it looks like it's against all odds There's going to be a sudden reversal when the great King the Messiah comes paragraph see Well, he returns as a king Operating in the sevenfold anointing of the Holy Spirit verse 2 The Spirit of the Lord, that's the first one just the power of the Spirit Himself And then there's six more Characteristics that are outlined their wisdom understanding counsel might knowledge the fear of the Lord Now I'd like to take 20 minutes and tear that apart But I think that we can search that out and get the details of that But one thing we know now this is a model of leadership This is what the Lord wants is in time leaders to walk in Now no one's gonna walk in it to the measure of Jesus But these are what these are the areas of life that are important to grow in above every above every other area We often think of other things building our networking building our profile building our base Jesus is saying no grow in this and you will be in the right place at the right time But not only that not only is this what? Jesus is going to lead the troubles of the world with these Characteristics we can believe him to impart this to us Because he's saying I'm I'm gonna release it in fullness when I come You know, I'm releasing it now by the Spirit to the people that are hungry for it. So we get these verses I say Lord why do I need to know this about Jesus and The whisper of the Holy Spirit is because that's what you want to be focused on and that's what you want to have faith to Ask him to release to you as well as to other leaders in the body of Christ Paragraph one now the Most obvious thing that's easy to miss. It's really easy to miss this point. Is that Jesus? Was anointed by the Spirit as a man Now, we know he's fully God The miracle isn't that God rules the world God already rules the world the miracle is God the Father gave the authority of the earth to a human Jesus had to become a man, but then he said as a man a Jewish man I'm gonna give you the leadership of the earth and I'm gonna anoint you and it's a Remarkable reality that when Jesus was living on the earth in his earthly ministry for 33 years he lived dependent on the Holy Spirit and the Analogy that well here. I'll give you this quote that I've heard this 40 years ago. I love this quote I've used it many times that Though Jesus was never ever less than God after the incarnation Never was he less than God, but he lived as though he was never more than a man Meaning he drew on the anointing and the way that he wants us to He could have said no father. I'm tired of this prayer and waiting and waiting on all on you and the Spirit I'm just gonna be God and just do it do it my way and Jesus the Father says no No, if you're gonna lead the human race you have to live forever like a human and you have to pray you have to talk to me and have to wait upon the spirits in Inspiration and guidance, you know, I just tongue-in-cheek, you know, you go like oh, come on No, no, this is how it works If you're gonna be the leader of the human race, you're gonna live like human and the reason this is so important Is that in the Millennial Kingdom? He will be functioning as a real human with a physical body resurrected. Yes, but a physical body This the reason this is important this human eyes is the whole Millennial Kingdom when you see the natural processes in these prophetic chapters and and the natural processes are Hinted at and declared clearly many many many times There's a whole different picture of the future when you see there's a natural human dimension of process Like I like to say that in the Millennium human process is not suspended But it's enhanced by the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit But by getting this we get a different view of the future then, you know floating on a cloud playing a harp for the rest of eternity No, we're really involved in earthly human processes and even in the resurrection you'll have you'll have human process in your experience Because you'll be a human now the imperfect analogy I've used over the years and anytime you talk about the mystery of Jesus being fully God fully man, whatever analogy is going to be an imperfect one Trust me. That is the great mystery of mysteries with the way I've always used said it is it's like a laptop Has two sources of power It's not very sophisticated. There's the internal source the battery and there's the external source the plug-in Jesus had both he had the battery. He was God him He was fully God But he always lived by the plug-in by the anointing on him and he's going to do it that way forever because he wants to You in that and the father says if you're gonna lead the human race you you have to live human That's the rules. Of course, Jesus fully understands that okay paragraph D this again verse 3 to 5 you could spend so much time on this and These are his leadership style his values and in the way that he leads But what he does in fullness then we know that he's doing it now and he wants us to embrace these in our leadership as well verse 3 He delights in the fear of the Lord, you know, a lot of leaders even that love God they they fear the Lord, but it's kind of like They struggle with obedience because they don't really delight in the fear of the Lord They think you know, the options are bad if I don't obey Jesus said father I delight in it. This isn't just something I do because it's better that I do it. I Delight in it. That's I mean he is it? I mean, that's the pinnacle of Of the glory of God in a human experience he delights in it and here Here's the man who has total power the only one in history and you know the old adage that total power totally corrupts Well if the man delights in the fear of the Lord not struggles to obey but delights in it Then we know that the history of the world is safe Now he makes a very important statement here that he will not judge by the sight of his eyes Nor will he decide by the hearing of the ear? Look it down in number one and what that means is Jesus is not going to make Decisions to restore the desolate cities in the broken nations. He's not going to make them By the information that is apparent on the surface You know often when that because he's the ultimate government man, he's the head of all the government's Whenever there's a government process often the truth is hidden below the surface the real truth There's layers of spin and miss or get misinformation There's favors owed self-agendas twisted info and Jesus saying I'm not gonna buy anything that isn't true. I don't care how it's presented What is before me what it looks like in the natural? I will decide by the Holy Spirit not by what looks obvious and apparent to the natural He's impossible to manipulate this man Impossible to manipulate him now one of the reasons we want to know this is that as we get closer and closer to the end 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 10 says that if we don't receive the love of the truth We don't love the truth That we're going to be vulnerable to deception and why I say that is that when I look even today There's so much rhetoric in this in the culture so much religious Biblical rhetoric and people and sides and agendas and arguments and who's Ford and who's against it and Jesus is saying don't make Choices by the popular opinion and the popular presentation Don't go by what you see how it looks out there go by what the Word of God says that's a practical Application for us even now we're not gonna be caught up in all of these false Storylines that will even be among believers as well as unbelievers paragraph 2 verse 4 Look at verse 4 with righteousness. He'll judge the poor and he'll make all of his decisions with righteousness Now number two why this is important. We know he's gonna make decisions with righteousness, but here's the kind of takeaway He is doing what is right? That's a fundamental statement the nations are Very troubled at his leadership Even in the church, there's many that don't like Jesus the judge They think he's non-biblical. They don't think he's doing right But we can have absolute confidence That even in the intensity of things that in as things the negative the darkness intensifies The closer that we get to the Lord's return the darkness will intensify His judgments will intensify the work of the Spirit will intensify and we can be sure of one thing When things intensify he will always do what's right Always we can where we can look out there and we're not going to get our opinion or our interpretation from the news Agencies, we're gonna get our interpretation from the scripture Because Jesus is gonna they it says the nations will be very very angry at him in the end times Says that a number of times very very angry at him and we don't want to be caught up in that narrative Because I want to assure you everything he does is right. He does it on the way to the escalating trouble he does it when he confronts it in full volume of his strength and Afterwards, he does everything that's right. So I just settled the issue. I'm on your side I don't care who likes it who doesn't like it. I don't care what the opinion is out on the social media I'm going with you and what your word says, but know this it's not popular with the Word of God says About how he is going to with zeal confront the darkness as it intensifies But we decide today we're on your side. You're right. So that I look at that I go. Yes, he's right. He is right Then it gets to the hot issue verse 4. We're still in paragraph D Well, how right are you gonna how confident you're gonna be when he starts striking the earth? How confident are you gonna be he's right when he starts slaying people he starts killing people Well, he can't strike the earth and kill people and still be right He must be wrong Because the God I grew up with doesn't strike the earth and kill people and of course the Spirit and the Word would say Line up with the Spirit in the Word And as I look at these things and I adjust even the way I perceive The future I mean, it's gonna be the greatest revival, but there's gonna be tremendous Tremendous intensity of darkness and his intervention. He will strike the earth. I mean with great zeal It's gonna make a lot of people really really angry It says in Psalm 2 verse 1 the nations are raging against them against him Revelation chapter 11 verse 15 says or verse 18. It says the nations are angry. They're full angry angry at his leadership But God's people are going to be messengers representing his good leadership and they have to be Confident he is right. He is righteous in the process and the conclusion and the aftermath of all that he decides That's why these passages I look at them I go I'm anchoring into this Lord and I'm gonna this is gonna be my story So I'm gonna train a generation that he's right even when he strikes and slays he's right He's the one that knows how to define love top of page three if you will verse number five He'll strike the earth with his mouth, I mean, oh now there's two different Ways Applications. Well, at least two I'm sure there's more than that to strike the earth with his mouth means by pronouncing decrees as The king he pronounces the decree and then those that are under him carry the decree out So a king's decree in that sense Well, but there's two ways this happens He releases his judgments like the book of Revelation judgments Most of the book of Revelation judgments the vast majority are directed at the Antichrist Empire Some people read the book of Revelation. They go. Oh, man, that's terrible. I don't know. That's it's actually good I go when God destroyed Nazi Germany, that was good the Antichrist Empire will be far more cruel and more powerful than Nazi Germany and We want Jesus to strike but there'll be billions supporting that whole false narrative that dark way billions will be supporting it and He will strike them by releasing his judgments just from the right hand of the father by speaking Like the Moses in the ten tribe. I mean the ten plagues of Egypt the Lord spoke course Moses lifted his rod in Partnership, but it was the Lord speaking releasing it, but then when he comes back He will also speak words Decrees as the king based here on the earth. I mean and of course, he'll still have the power He has in Genesis 1 he can still speak and create any time he wants but the words of his mouth whether he's releasing it supernaturally or Establishing a governmental decree that's going to bring part of the earth under his discipline and judgments He's going to do it now look at Revelation 19 it quotes this now Revelation 19 is a description of the Lord's return the second coming of Christ and Revelation 19 quotes Isaiah chapter 11 verse 4 here out of his mouth. He strikes nations by the sword of his mouth because again that creative power that he speaks and the striking of the nations is The earthquake that shakes all the cities it's the hundred pound hell stones that's released by the word of his mouth That's not released by the devil. Those hell stones are destroying the Empire the devil's trying to prop up Paragraph 6 this gets more intense slaying the nations is I mean striking the nations is oh That you know to the natural mind. We don't like that, but it gets really personal in paragraph 6 here He's going to slay the wicked. He's going to kill them now. I remember the First time I grappled with this you know, I never thought about it, you know, and I started reading these passages some years ago and For the first question is why? why and the answer is that his judgments remove everything that hinders love and He is the judge on what is hindering love because everything has the title and rhetoric and storyline of love every single different Diversion of from truth every dark deception Presents itself as love But he's the only one who gets it and so he does it to remove what hinders love look at Psalm 110 Now this is King David's writing this about the Messiah when he comes he'll judge nations. Okay verse 6 That's he's gonna strike nations judge then we got it Then I remember reading it he will execute the heads the kings of nations like execute Really and that's what he's gonna do He's going to gather the kings of the earth There's about 200 nations. You know that the number goes up and down a little bit but 200 is a good ballpark number He's going to gather. Let's just use the number 200 all 200 kings together Around the city of Jerusalem and he's going to slay all of them in one day This is Jesus. This is lovely sweet lamb of God Jesus, and it's not going to contradict love. He's doing it in zeal for love You know, I tell folks that I go we love the Jesus of Christmas peace and goodwill to men But we don't like the Jesus of Armageddon But the Jesus of Armageddon is necessary for peace and goodwill to fill the earth, that's what he's doing He's filling the earth with peace by removing this obstinate Stubbornness this defiancy against God's leadership. He's moving it off the earth. I Go, I don't know who is and who who should and should not Be driven off the earth. He says don't worry. I have perfect wisdom I know who you just stand with me and you don't have to figure it all out, but you'll see it unfold Now look at this. I Remember the first time here a revelation 19 of the kings of the earth verse 19 revelation 19 verse 19 they gather to make war now they gather we find out a couple other places around the city of Jerusalem and The devil sent them to Jerusalem But the other storyline clear in the prophets God sent them to Jerusalem Well who sent them God or the devil both? The devil brought them to Jerusalem all the kings of the earth to fight against God and his purposes Jesus and his purposes God sent them to Jerusalem to slay them in one day to remove all the wicked leaders of the earth in one day now I would think you know just Maybe one nation at a time, you know when we you know America in Has been involved in nation building is what we call it just a little bit of it And it wears out everyone it wears out the nation. We're helping it wears us out. There's strife everywhere There's not enough resources not enough wisdom. It always breaks he's gonna do all 200 nations at one time like That's intense. He's gonna place the whole leadership of the earth in one short period of time. I Remember when I first saw this it just shocked me and and but I settled it I said, you know what? This is in the storyline and this is a description of love and I've got to start Aligning with the biblical storyline. This is where it's going I don't need to be mad offended or shocked when he does it. He says it a number of times. I Need to be already rooted in my confidence in his leadership Now, I don't think it's going to be very popular For somebody to get up in that hour of history whenever this happens and say hell by the way the new and updated United Nations Jesus is going to kill all of you like Really? Yeah, a Jewish guy is gonna kill all of you because you don't like Israel That's the message I mean it's like really that's what I'm you know praying for the next generation you guys can all say that stuff But I just I look at that I go who is ever gonna say that Really and The Holy Spirit he will take care of that. But Wow, okay Roman number three. I have far more Prefer to make handouts and have other people say that to the kings of the earth We don't know when that's gonna unfold but there is a day that will be on God's agenda in a real time and space way Okay Roman number three Jesus is gonna restore creation He's not only gonna drive Darkness off the planet in hatred off the planet and fill the earth with love or the glory of God He's gonna restore creation itself back to the Garden of Eden Conditions he's gonna do such a work. There's gonna be no hostility In relationships from animal to animal Because right now a lot of animals eat the other animals that hostility is going to be gone And there's gonna be the hostility between animals and humans is going to be gone verse 6 The wolf will lie down with the lamb now the wolf normally eats the lamb that doesn't take a nap with the lamb The leopard lies down with the goat the same thing the calf with the lion This is the complete reversal of the natural way of the animal kingdom, so the animal kingdom is going to be transformed supernaturally the animal kingdom the atmosphere the sky the weather patterns the atmosphere is going to be Reordered in a direct in a powerful way the agriculture the vegetation of the planet is going to be Reordered and transformed in a radical way the social order of the planet is going to be reordered father Father knows the father knows what he's doing and we're not far out from this. I mean we don't know how Close, but we know that things are intensifying, but there's a glorious storyline. That's unfolding in the midst of the intensity You can read the Whole passage there the verse 8 the child plays by the Cobras hole The snakes will still be there. You know, but the snake before Satan You know was involved with that snake. I guess snakes are okay. Adam was talking to the snake not too concerned Hey, how you doing the snake talking back to him that didn't seem to concern him I mean if a snake was talking back to me I would be alarmed Hey Adam, you know what God said now what snake what'd he say? Yeah, how did you know? Did you hear what God told me? Yeah, I heard what he said. Hey, did he really tell you that? I mean that hostility with the snake is going to be gone. I'll still be careful. But anyway paragraph B No, I'm sure they won't be I'm sure it will really be gone paragraph B Creation will be delivered from bondage. It says in Romans 8 When the Lord returns creation has been under the curse of Adam sin Creation the animal kingdom the agriculture the atmosphere all of them are going the curse is going to be lifted off of them Paragraph C. He's gonna make Jerusalem like He will it says the Lord will comfort Zion Jerusalem will make her wilderness like an Eden but there's going to be It's the wilderness condition I mean after the again after the Great Tribulation the judgments of the Satan's rage in the Antichrist the cities of the earth Not just in Israel. It's the whole earth It's going to be having trouble and and there will be parts of the earth that the Lord will protect in ways different from other Parts and nobody knows who where why? Well, the Lord knows why so it's not like every place is going to have an equal distribution of the glory of God or an equal Intensity of judgment or darkness every part will be different and nobody knows exactly what will happen. That's why Intercession is so important because history is in the hands of the intercessors if they agree with God They call him into their geographic area. It really really matters Paragraph D. It says it's gonna They this is kind of a curious statement verse 9 They will not hurt or destroy on the Holy Mountain now the Holy Mountain remember It's that it's in Jerusalem. The Holy Mountain is that mountain city house temple You know, it's that mountain house where the New Jerusalem is connected to the temple. It's this glorious mountain house Called the mountain of the Lord. It's not only a mountain house, but it's on a mountain So it's a mountain in two different ways. We looked at in Isaiah chapter 2 The conditions begin there the Eden conditions begin there. I don't think he waves his hand and They it fills the earth Instantaneously, I think it begins in Eden and the whole process of the millennial kingdom. It's progressive it moves out That's why the Kings go into Jesus's mountain house The New Jerusalem and they get the the leaves from the Tree of Life They bring it back to their nation and it brings healing to the agriculture of their nation those leaves have dynamic principles and properties about them that when brought back and Integrated in the agriculture of their country it brings healing to the nation's literally in the agriculture But it will be little by little let's turn to page 4 paragraph II Isaiah chapter 65 Develops the idea of this blessing on the created order on human life And you can read that on your own But the idea is that look right in verse 20 If somebody the idea verse 20 if somebody dies at a hundred a child This is this is people in the millennial kingdom with natural bodies Believers, you'll have a resurrected body live in the New Jerusalem You'll be serving and reigning on the earth. And again, you'll go between the New Jerusalem of the earth just instantaneously I mean, there'll be very little You know a time delay and and getting to your station your work post So to speak like the angels can move freely from one place to the other no problem But there'll be people on the earth with written with natural bodies and they live to be a hundred and die because they still will die Because they're still got they have natural bodies I'll say man, the child died they go the little guy was only a hundred what happened how tragic Notice, they'll be sinners Because people will be born in sin. They have to get be saved just like they do now and they will paragraph F the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord. Here's an interesting phrase and The way the waters cover the sea Now this is a very important part of this promise that the glory of God will fill the earth Because the way the waters cover the sea Someplace just go to the Atlantic Ocean just pick any ocean Some places the ocean is five feet deep Other places it's five miles deep Some places it's cold Some places it's warm Some places it's dirty. Well, I'm sure it's dirty everywhere other places. It's not as dirty some places It's clear some places. It's not clear at all. Some places serene and calm other places stormy Everywhere in the ocean. There's a different depth and heighth and Constitution of what's happening in the ocean and over the earth. It'll be the same way some cities in The Millennial Kingdom, but it's true now That's the point I'm even gonna make I'm really making is that even in the end time revival and then even in the end time troubles Some cities will have a greater measure of the glory of God than other cities Others will have a greater measure of darkness Some will have greater judgment and the prophets will look at it a number of run We'll run into the number of times where they cry out to the Lord and they were they could avert the Judgment in their geographic area if they were faithful to cry out to the Lord This is real to some folks that just kind of like a you know, some Bible verses kind of a cool thing, you know and But it's not that real to them, but it really is real It really matters that we grow in our prayer life. It really really matters and Again, we don't know how intense things are gonna get in the near future But we know one thing that the measure of the glory of God even after the Lord returns Different in every part of the earth It will be the glory in different diversity in intensity in different way parts of the earth different from other parts of the earth Okay, Roman numeral For let's look at verse 10 Jesus it says in that day and you know, that's the famous Isaiah phrase curse all the prophets or most of prophets use that phrase in that day which talks about the end of the age That's that's usually code for in the generation the Lord returns It's it's the trouble and the glory leading up to the coming and the trouble and the glory right after he comes because even after He comes he he judges nations rebukes nations. He has to restore desolate cities all these kinds of things So it's that it's that code phrase is not very code is pretty obvious But it's it's it's you see it all the time in that day So that tells you we're talking almost always about the generation the Lord returns There will be a root of Jesse now Remember Jesse's David's father in other words a great great great great great grandson of Jesse And that's of course the Lord Jesus He will stand as a banner to the people's now when you see the word people's and the prophets it means the Gentiles It doesn't mean Israel. It's there's Israel and Judah then there's the people's There's the nation's it's in which they're all Gentiles Jesus is going to stand and to stand means he's gonna arise to action. He's going to Make himself known in a global way like a big banner Obviously, but it's more spectacular than just waving a flag. He says I will wave the flag so to speak the whole earth who I will get their attention and Multitudes when I get their attention, he doesn't tell us how he's gonna do it, but he's the banner he's the he's the Storyline the whole earth is captured by when he returns the Jewish man that came from heaven That drove the Antichrist off the planet and destroyed his Empire the Gentiles will seek him and His resting place will be glorious Now his resting but well, let's look at paragraph C. The Gentiles will seek him the idea evangelism will continue though again, there's probably going to be hundreds of millions of Survivors of the Great Tribulation and those hundreds of millions their children and their children will live hundreds of years They die at age 100. They'll be thought to be a child It would be like the the the lifespan back in the days of Noah before the flood It was hundreds of years the average Lifespan and Noah's generation that's recorded in the Bible is like eight or nine hundred years. It's some Big lifespan. So my point being is that the population of the earth will be I mean, you know They healing and the atmosphere will be clean. The food will be clean. The devil's in prison. I'm just thinking how How many years will women have children anyway? Okay, I lost you on that one so it was at 400 Well, but Maybe but the pain of childbirth will probably all be really different. I don't I'm venturing out just get back to the Bible here But evangelism will continue my point being the population will really increase Because of the lifespan and the productivity and so there might be billions before it's over I mean nobody knows that I mean it seems like it will be but they will there will be Intense evangelism going on and I'm assuming the majority say yes to the Lord's leadership of the earth Evangelism doesn't stop when the Lord's returns. I've said that to some folks. They go what I go. No, you're thinking of when somebody dies You know after they die and they stand before the Lord then it's too late But they're still alive Jesus came down here when Jesus came down the first time people could be saved when he talked to them That's it. Well, you know, he preached all over Israel. He's gonna come back again and all these verses you can read them on your own There's quite a few more It says that his resting place will be glorious verse 10 his resting place is his mountain house Temple throne It's all one reality his I call it his vast Governmental temple complex. It's where his throne is. It's his home. It's the resting place It's where his throne will be forever The resting place the glory of God with the man Christ Jesus on his throne ruling the earth. I Will be with him that's what it means by his final resting place of his throne now look at Matthew 25 He called it the throne of his glory Again, it's a mountain house It's I'm in the New Jerusalem 1500 miles connected to the Jerusalem Temple on the highest mountain That's a plane that's been made flat says in Zechariah 14 verse 10. There's a 40-mile plane. The whole city has been elevated and it's been a Leveled out and the in the complex of his throne is a bit on that newly reorganized Topography of the city of Jerusalem we covered that back in the very first session get up at page 5 Jesus is not just going to restore. I mean bring the Gentiles to him. He's going to bring the remnant of Israel Because there's two things that have happened To the Jewish people two things that are in view here a number of Jewish people fled from the land or They fled from their home wherever nation they lived and they were refugees. They were in flight and in their hiding tremendous Antisemitism is going to escalate under the Antichrist Empire. It will be far more intense than under Nazi Germany Antisemitism they will want to destroy Jerusalem and the Jewish people and completely Destroy them so the Jews will be in flight Now some of them it will be more than in flight. They'll actually be in prison They'll be taken some will be Choose to be in flight because they're escaping trouble and others will be taken against their will But the same will be happening with Gentiles as well You know the Old Testament Gives the storyline about the Jews taken captive the New Testament Tells the storyline of the Christians being taken Catholic captive when you read the New Testament Book of Revelation, it's not the Jews per se it's believers in Jesus that are End up in captivity in prison, but the Old Testament They're not talking about the Gentiles are talking about the Jewish people so the whole storyline is anybody that the Lord is That is that I mean the Jewish people and the believers in Christ There's going to be trouble in it, but he's describing what happens and here in chapter 11 He's going to go rescue them those that are in flight. They're hiding. They're fleeing He's gonna rescue them and bring them to Israel and those that were taken against their will you know the passage We looked at a few moments ago half of the city of Jerusalem The city of Jerusalem will be taken captive It will be captured in in Zechariah 14 verse 2 and they will take half the city away Captivity and they're not taking them away to a resort They're taking them away under the leadership of the Antichrist who hates them with tremendous demonic energy But he doesn't have the last word Jesus comes and destroys him And he gathers all the captives and all the refugees in the nations And he restores all of them and it's all laid out here verse 11 in that day He will set his hand a second time. That's a key phrase a second time He will recover or you could put the word he will rescue the remnant Again, some are in flight of their own free will but their flight because they're in danger But they're fleeing but they need to be rescued and others will be in Taken captive against their will again Just like believers will be in many places across the earth Just like believers right now are in prisons all across the I mean in not every nation, but in a number of nations Now it's interesting that the two areas that are highlighted most when it talks about the Jewish remnant needing to be rescued the two areas is Syria and Egypt and you can read a little bit more the details on the notes here But a Syria and Egypt were the two major world empires in the Middle East now a Syria was by far the most dominant one and we know we've looked at this before and I have it right here on the notes in verse 11 in the text a Syria is modern-day Jordan Syria Iraq a little bit of Turkey a little bit Iran meaning it's it's it's the heart of the Middle East That's the ancient Territory of a Syria now Isaiah is not saying the Assyrian Empire is going to be restored Isaiah is not commenting on that. He's talking about the geographic area where the Assyrian Empire was that's where Jews will be in Flight or in captivity one or the other and that is basically throughout the Middle East and Egypt That's what he's talking about here, but he's going to restore them But he's going to do it a second time Now paragraph C. This is interesting a second time that Well, where's the first time and and it's I've looked at this at quite a few commentaries over the years And there's a little bit of debate When is the first time and I think the first time that he's talking about is the rescue from Egypt with mighty miracles under Moses's leadership, that's the first time and The second time is the great end-of-the-age rescue I Believe that's the second time because it's going to have miracles like the miracles of Egypt Some theologians they will say yeah, what about the great Babylonian captivity in 5? 36 538 to 36 when they were released from Babylon it came back But there were there were some miracles undoubtedly But it was nothing like the Moses drama and this was a hundred and fifty years before Isaiah's time before that ever happened Isaiah's talking to the people of his generation He goes there's the Moses one But there's the Moses story told again at the end of the age when the Messiah returns But the Moses story will be more intense the second time it happens Look at Jeremiah chapter 16. We're in paragraph C number one Jeremiah 16 says the days are coming This is quite a prophecy. It will no longer be said meaning by the Jews They will no longer make their vows or their oaths by this phrase They won't say the Lord lives who delivered us from the land of Egypt. That's what they've been saying over the years the God of Moses That's who we appeal to he says something So big is gonna happen it's going to eclipse the Moses story They won't say the God that delivered us from Egypt Verse 15 they're gonna say the God that delivered us from the land of the north because the miracles will be greater The numbers will be larger the drama will have a global scope to it And I believe that that is the that's the second time that he's talking about the great in time one Now I believe that that in time rescue from the north that's already begun I Believe it began. Well, I mean technically 1948 when Israel become a nation, but really the 1990s when the Iron Curtain came down 1989 the Soviet Union began to dissolve 1 million Jewish people returned to the land of Israel 1 million in a 25-year period 1990 to 2015 a million. I mean, that's that's remarkable Remarkable historical reality, but not by the miracles that were done through Moses Undoubtedly many merit personal miracles undoubtedly, but there's going to be something that's going to be global headline story Though that I believe that rescue has already begun It is going to go to a whole nother level and as we get closer to the Lord's return I believe that rescue will continue but it's going to be Accelerated with more miracles the closer we get to the Lord and when the Lord comes the miracles will be will be outstanding And there will be even miracles before that in Zechariah chapter 10. We'll get to that when we get Zechariah There's miracles even before the Lord comes related to the rescue of the Jewish people from the Antichrist army but the big storyline is what Moses did with the ten plagues of Egypt the ten plagues of Egypt if you read the book of Revelation the judgments in the revelation book of Revelation are very similar to the ten plagues of Egypt because it's the Moses story retold again on a global level We'll look at that when we get there paragraph D at the bottom of page 5 Paragraph D in the end time somebody I get asked they go. Well, what is it? Is Israel going to be gathered or scattered? both What is it the church going to have a great harvest or is there going to be a falling away both? What is it? Are things going to get better or things going to get worse? both What is it who's coming back the Christ or the Antichrist Well, the Antichrist isn't coming back, but who's coming both. I just messed up my little rhyme there top of page 6 Paragraph E. We're gonna bring this to a close here paragraph E He says now when I rescue you Those again that are in flight for your own personal safety, but those who are in captivity against your will Jesus I'm coming after my people because it's in that context They're gonna see the Messiah as the true Jewish Messiah Loyal to Israel because they thought Jesus all through the history The storyline has been the people that love Jesus kill the Jewish people But the Lord's gonna allow history to unfold Where he is the one loyal in an open way in a global level for everyone to see So the whole storyline is going to be shifted dramatically Now in paragraph E. It talks about Israel being united Because Israel has been divided since about a generation after King David, right? King David had a united kingdom a generation after him has all been divided ever since but Isaiah says in verse 13 remember Ephraim means Israel the northern kingdom Judah is the southern kingdom. They're gonna be unified Then in verse 14, this is interesting as a unified Company, which is a miracle. They're unified tremendous They're gonna fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines. That's the Palestinian Territory today They're gonna plunder the people of the east the people of these these countries mentioned here Eden Moab and Ammon that's modern-day Jordan and So the Lord is going to enable them to take the territory and Everything that God gave them From these different people that are there Not as the stewards from God's point of view of that land. Now. This is one of the biggest controversies Going around the nations today whose land is it and the Lord says I'm gonna sell it right now But if you know my storyline, you already know how I feel about it. I know Isaiah chapter 11 Verse 14 I can tell you where God is orchestrating this. He's going to bring the people Back to the land and give the land with them Now look at this is an odd little verse at first read. It says the people of Eden Moab and Ammon again That's modern-day modern-day Jordan They're gonna the people of Ammon. They're gonna obey the people of Israel. You think well, that's not been so very loving Now what's really happening is the people of Ammon which is an Islamic nation and all in the Palestinian territory and other nations they will be Harassing much more than harassing but attacking and plundering and and Trying to destroy Israel and the Lord is going to require Restitution for the war crimes. That's what's going on here. He's gonna make it be reversed because he's a God of justice You say who are these Ammon? Edom Moabite people can it's the nation of Jordan I don't have this in the notes here But if you go to Daniel 11 verse 41 these three little nations, which again is still Jordan These three little nations Daniel 1141 they escaped the Antichrist it says So they escaped the Antichrist. They're unsaved survivors of the Great Tribulation They didn't say yes to Jesus or the Antichrist and they're still hanging around But they're guilty of war crimes Against Israel and the king he's gonna do this with every nation He's gonna make every nation answer in righteousness But he's pointing this one out ahead of time because he's saying I want you to know I have feelings about this one Why has feelings about all of them actually wherever there's war crimes and Joel chapter 3 verses 1 and 2 speaks into this as well Now look at paragraph F. I'm not gonna read this to you I'll leave it to you on your own to read But what he's gonna do the Lord says when I rescue Israel From a Syria now remember Syria is a lot of the Middle East countries. It's the region of it's in Iraq Syria Jordan a little bit of Turkey a little bit of Iran It's those are the modern names But they're saying the Syria because that was the name of the Empire that was over that geographic territory He's not prophesying the renewal of that kingdom He's talking about the geographic area that the people of Isaiah's day understood. They knew that was a Syria We know what today is Iraq. We know today is Jordan We know today is Egypt Look what's gonna happen when you read the details here Verse 15 the Lord is going to destroy meanings most translations use a word like overpower The tongue of Egypt means the Gulf of the Red Sea, which is the Gulf of the of Suez he's going to The Lord's gonna manifest his power on the Sea of Egypt the Gulf of the Sea again by the Suez Like he did with Moses in the Red Sea and his mighty wind. He's gonna shake his fist In other words, you can exert his power on the Euphrates River as well The Euphrates River is where a Syria is and the Tongue or the Gulf of the Sea of Egypt is where the Egyptians are He says my people are being held in those lands. I'm gonna do the Moses thing again with the water I'm gonna strike it so that the people can cross over the water. It says dry shod most translations say in their sandals they can walk over because like when the children of Israel when that Mighty wind come it says here. It's a mighty wind in the book of Exodus It says the East wind with this scorching heat dried up the land when the Red Sea divided And it was dry. It says that that wind blew all night and dried the land Exodus chapter 14 verse 21 and the Children of Israel walked over dry land because the hot wind blew all night long to dry it out. He says I'm gonna do it again I'm gonna dry up the Euphrates now. I'm gonna dry up the the river at the at the Gulf of the Sea of Egypt of Suez and I'm gonna allow a place for my Captive ones to be rescued and make their way back home to Israel verse 16 matter of fact, I'm going to establish a highway and the remnant of my people those again that are That are there against their will as captives or those there are in flight as refugees I'm gonna build a highway and we're gonna look at this later There's a number of verses and I say it's a real highway. It's not a figurative highway. It's a real one. It's there's glorious Implications to this he says I'm gonna do this in the same kind of power that I used when I delivered Israel from Egypt you can read this a little bit more on your own Paragraph G. Somebody goes now what? Syrian Egypt Over and over. I only have one example here in Isaiah 27, but over and over in the prophets The remnant of Israel is in Egypt or the nations The modern-day nations that were at once ancient to Syria over and over It says my people are in a Syria which today Iraq a little bit Iran Jordan Syria Turkey, my people are there. I'm gonna free them or they're in Egypt. I'm gonna free them again It's the Moses story retold again Look at this. I'm just gonna read this to you real quick Isaiah 27 in that day I days it will get to Isaiah 27 and it's in some weeks, but the Lord will thrash The Euphrates River the Lord will thrash the Brook of Egypt. That's the same thing. He just said in Isaiah 11 He's gonna use his power to dry up those rivers He says Oh Israel, you will be gathered one by one It's talking about it in the generation. The Lord would comes related to his return verse 13 So there's no mistake about it. The great trumpet will be blown. That's the trumpet, you know When the Lord returns, I'm sure that's not the tune but The great trumpet will be blown You Oh Israel that are about to perish in a Syria that again Iraq Jordan a little bit Iran Syria you that are about to perish this undoubtedly is talking to the people that are being held captive against their will Those that are outcast in Egypt I'm gonna rescue you and I'm gonna bring you back to Jerusalem. You're gonna worship Jesus You're gonna worship God in truth in Jerusalem. This is an end time passage So Isaiah here in chapter 11 he begins to open up this theme of those that are held captive in this the Assyria the Middle East and in Egypt and It's gonna be the Moses story retold again. He introduces this in chapter 11 He develops at a number of more times throughout the rest of the book But beloved that's the storyline we're looking at and the book of Revelation is the Moses storyline Because the judgments against the Antichrist are like the ten plagues of Egypt. It's God Liberating his people. That's why the book of Revelation is a glorious book. The storyline is glorious Well Roman numeral six We can't spend time on it, but it's a praise it break They break into praise the saved remnant of Israel. They come to know Jesus The commentators say the Messiah I like to say his name is Jesus. I know commentators It's the Messiah the one, you know, the the hopeful one, but I like just to put Jesus in there That's who we're talking about. They will be worshiping Jesus. You can read chapter 12. It's very straightforward very simple, but it's the culmination of the end of Isaiah 11 where they're in Jerusalem at the Holy Mountain Worshipping Jesus with song but I'm asking the Lord to give these songs The themes of these songs even now by the Spirit to his singers and musicians across the earth Well, amen and amen Let's stand before the Lord When I asked the Lord just to touch us again I know this is just a lot of information but the good news is it's kind of this much of the same story is told again and again and again throughout the chat the chapters so Pretty soon it starts. Oh, well, it's just the same story. Okay. I mean there's different facets in the different chapters and a little different nuances But uh, once you get it, it just starts all coming together pretty pretty clear Father here we are before you Lord we thank you That the Gentiles are going to come to you from all over the nations even in this age and the age to come I thank you that Jews are coming to you in this age and in the age to come Because what's going to happen in fullness in that age is happening in part and it's accelerating more and more in this age Lord here we are before you Holy Spirit. I ask you just to come and minister to us here. We are Lord Here we are Lord show us What you're emphasizing in these chapters Show us why you want us to know these things and say these things Why do you want us to say these things and know them Why did you tell Isaiah this information But let us see Lord why do you want us to know these things? Why do you want us to see these things? to the nations to unbelievers and believers Revelation Spirit of wisdom and revelation Open my heart Open my eyes Spirit Open my heart Lord all over this room. I ask you for spirit of wisdom and revelation Father we love you that out of this stump the tree stump A glorious king is coming to the earth Nations have written off Israel. They're just a little tree stuff that doesn't matter But a mighty shoot is coming Minister to us even right now Make us We need your help Spirit of wisdom Oh Jesus Flames of fire. I know your head As well, I know to voice it sounds like waters Jesus in your view I Think sir fire Lord release your fire in this room right now boys like waters Jesus in your view Lord release a wave of your glory in this room tonight Your voice Your eyes Oh Oh Jesus There is no one like you Jesus Beautiful God you are our beloved No one like You There is no one like you Sing there is none
