Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Sermon Transcription
When anyone receives revelation in the Word of God, it sometimes conflicts with what he has previously been taught. This causes you to have to deal with old traditions or wrong teachings. These tapes may contain some new light from God's Word, and it may be opposed to some traditions you have previously learned. Therefore, follow through these messages in your Bible, in sequence, in order that you may be able to make a choice for the Word of God, rather than the traditions of men. This is tape number six in a series. We urge you to listen to all the tapes in this series in numerical order, so that the whole teaching can be received and understood. Listening to a part of this series, or to the tapes out of sequence, can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. All right, then we saw them, the ones that do the will of God. Is that right? They're going to go to heaven. Is that what your Bible said in Matthew 7 21? They're going to go, does the will of God. Well, what is the will of God? We know, have a pure heart. If you have a pure heart, sanctification, and you bear the right fruit. Does that sound like the eternal life? That's the gospel I recommend. That's the gospel I recommend to you. Now, now you see, a lot of folks, I've heard people say they sit there and everything, you know, said, or said, I don't like it, but I can't argue the right word. I recommend you don't. I've been saying the same thing. Everything I'm saying is love. I'm not building nothing. I'm gonna leave town. It's up to you and Jesus, isn't it, right? I'm not Lord. I just come here to the park. Amen. That's the problem. The problem, we wait for the man to come to town. All right, now verse 8. Verse 8, consequently, he who rejects this is not rejecting men, but the one who rejects this is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit. Now, is that what your Bible says? I think Hebrews 5 and 9 said he'd give his Holy Spirit to the ones who obey him. Is that correct? Is that right? Okay. Now, I want you to turn with me to Hebrews 12. Can you stand there a little longer? Hebrews 12. Hebrews 12. Now, we're going to see something, something about possessing the land right here. Now, we're totally going to be persecuted and going to be afflicted and come against us, aren't you? I'm going to tell you what. Can I tell you before you read it, you're going to get tore up. You're going to get excited. When you see truth, see, listen folks, when the gospel is always lead you to love. Is that right? Is everything I've said since I've been here is love? But flesh is hostile to it. Is that right? Because flesh itself wants to be king. It's hostile to God and it's hostile to the word of God. Is that right? Everything I've said, look, so when you come to the word of God, it just proves that your ambitions lead to the Lord, walking in love. See, that's why we have covenant. It's why we have the law. They're not contrary to one another. We saw that playing out. Let me just put it in here. The law and covenant are not contrary to one another. We've already covered this, but I won't just mention it. It's, uh, Galatians 3, 21, is the law being contrary to the promise or contrary to the covenant of God? May it never be for the law had been given which is able to impart life and righteousness would have been based on the law. In other words, you wouldn't need the covenant if you could obey the law without it, could you? You wouldn't need Jesus. Think in Galatians 2, verse 21, do I nullify the grace of God for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died needlessly. Well, you can't, you can't keep the law without Jesus. But some people are trying to do it without Jesus because they're not led by the spirit of God. See, that's the deception today that the power of the darkness has got people this evening to get them to get a heart to gather around something and find a false security. And then when you find a false security, if you're not led by the spirit of God, if you're not led by the spirit of God, you've been destroyed. Jesus said, well, you call me Lord, Lord. I'm not doing what I'm saying. Amen. You got the wrong foundation. Is that what we always thought? Okay, now we see him right there in Hebrews 12, verse one. Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, we better lay aside every encumbrance. You better lay aside every sin which so unequally entangles us. And you want to run with what? Endure to the end. The race is set before you. Now, what are you going to do? You're going to fix your eyes on Jesus Christ and the author and protector of what? The faith. And the only way you can do that is to be led by the spirit of God. Verse three. For consider this, who endured much hostility by sinners against him. And so it's going to happen to you. They're going to be hostile because flesh is hostile to God. And it's going to be hostile to you if you're in agreement with God. So that you may not grow weary and lose heart. You don't have to please men. You please God. Amen. Amen. And now see, this is what upset kings of flesh. Because when you start doing the thing God says, they come that spirit of a spirit of God comes down and they start hot. They start. They'll push you off a cliff. Never change. I mean, they'll ruin your character. They're questioning you closely about many subjects in order they might catch you on something you might say. Because they've got to discredit you. They've got to ruin you because they've got to come against you with controversial questions in order to destroy this. They've got to attack you and they attack the word. They attack the spirit in you with controversial questions and dispute about words. Which lead to evil suspicions. Are you hearing me? That's the attack. That's what the pharisee that flesh hasn't changed now. So consider him who endured such hostility by sinners against him. So you may not grow weary and lose heart. You have not yet resisted through the pot of shedding blood in striving against them. Now what we're talking about persecution and endurance, aren't we? And you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons. My son do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord. You're going to be disciplined. Nor faint when you are reproved from him. Now, how are you approved for the Lord? Now look at me folks. Let me show you something. When, let me get this preacher over here. When they come to put this pressure and all these things on you, brother, and things like that. How you receive discipline and proof of the Lord to give you scriptures. You're looking at the Lord. Your eyes are fixed on Jesus. It's not on the surface. I mean, I mean you, you can either handle it in the flesh. You can jump on a whole bunch of both feet, anger, hate. You, you can throw up bits. Or else you can stand there and, and, and, and receive discipline. And the Lord, you're going to suffer in the flesh and cease and sin. And then, you know, the Lord just don't have it. He's in control. No. Now verse six. For those whom the Lord loves, he what? This one. Now, let me ask you something. Let's just say, now look at me. I want everybody to look at me right here. Let's just say that you make a mistake. Whether attitude, condemnation, or judgment towards someone. And then, you lose your peace. Because see, when judgment comes out your mouth, the powers of darkness attack you. When condemnation comes out your mouth, the powers of darkness attack you. You don't have peace. But the world, and the world and the church doesn't pay any attention to that. They just continue on like a horse charging into battle. Because they don't receive reproof. But you will come to the light. You'll see it and know that you're not supposed to be in torment. You're supposed to walk in peace. And you know there's something wrong with your heart when you haven't walked in peace. Amen? Is that right? So, what do you do? You come to the light. Can I tell you the body of Christ comes to light? Can I tell you that's who the body of Christ is? They will come to the light. He has said, those who love him will obey my command. Now, if you come to the light, what does that prove? You are receiving reproof and discipline. If you don't come to the light, you're not receiving the reproof and discipline. Amen? Amen? Glory! Praise God forevermore. Now, did you hear what I said? I hope you didn't miss that. Okay. Let's read 6 again. For those whom the Lord loves, He disciplines. And discourages every son whom he receives. So, it is for what? Discipline that you what? Endure. Now, so what is the discipline, folks? Look at me. Every time you lose your peace, you will go to the sacrifice, as they did in the old covenant. I mean, when they sins and everything, they went to sacrifice and then it wasn't judgeable law. Is that right? When you go to sacrifice, you're not going to be judgeable law today. Amen? Glory! You want it in love, in no sacrifice. But you will when you when you walk under the law or do anything under the law. It's eye for an eye and a tooth for tooth. It comes at you. Amen? But see, on the other hand, what you do in the name of the Lord and love and bless and everything, it's poured into your lap in the other direction. What you give out is what you get. Amen? By your standard of measure, it's measured to you. Isn't that interesting? Oh, I'm telling you, it's a new day, isn't it? Boy, it's exciting. But that's the way it is. So, so what do you have to endure? That every time you lose your peace, you're going to go before the Lord and say, what did what I do this time, Lord? I know whatever it is. I'm sorry, because I love you more than I do it. And I know before I ask you, Lord, that I'm going to turn from it, whatever it is. And Lord said, well, you know, this time it's uh, it's that jealousy and I hate it. And I said, well, since I love you and Lord your Jesus, since you said those who love me will obey my commands, I want you to know what I do love you and I turn from that and I'll not do that anymore. And so Jesus, I right now receive forgiveness and I receive the blood. I receive the finished work of Calvary. And now in Jesus name, by faith, I stand in that word. I've turned from it in my heart. I'm not going to practice that sin. I turn from it and in Jesus name, it's removed and that stronghold's gone right now in the name of Jesus. And then peace comes back to you. Are you hearing what I mean? And what kind of process is that going to be? You're going to keep doing that until you've got a what? A pure heart. And when you're going to walk in selflessness and self-centeredness and self-love and self-worship. I praise God. Does that sound like a gospel? Amen. So, verse seven, it is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? He'll discipline you because he has to correct you because he has to get your heart turned from these things. Amen. Because he's conforming you to the image of Jesus. He can't conform you to the image of Jesus. You've got another gospel, another Jesus, or led by a different spirit, can he? Huh? Okay. Are you ready in verse eight? You got your big pencil ready? And even if you are without discipline, if you're without discipline, in other words, you won't come to the light of which all have bundles for takers, then you are illegitimate, children. You're not sons. If you won't purify your heart, I don't care what kind of title you are. I don't care what kind of good, nice, big things you're doing for God. If you're practicing sin and you won't come to light, you're not walking in peace. You're a bastard. You are a whore. You're a harlot. You're speaking blessings and curses out of your mouth. You're practicing sin. You won't come to sacrifice. You're sinning willfully and you're trampling underfoot the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and you're regarding a covenant as unclean. And a fury of fire and a vengeance of God is all over you. Now, that's how you learn the fear of God. The fear of God begins with you because my people are destroyed because they don't know the fear of God. They don't know the fear of God because their hearts are settled for something else and they won't come to light or in peace. Because flesh wants to be hostile. Flesh means that's about them. And they block folks. Hold them together with intimidation and fear. Oh, I'm so thankful to you, Lord. I could just get on my face all over the place right now, folks. I tell you what, I'm just, I'm telling you, I'm honest with you. I just, I could just crawl under the rope or anything. I just, I'm just so grateful to God. I tell you what, I'm honest with you. Tell me. I'm telling you nothing matters except what he's saying. I'm going to tell you what's illegitimate, Joe. Now, I don't care what the United folks. I don't care if it's your brothers. I don't care if it's your mother-in-law. I don't care if it's your father-in-law. I don't care if it's your best friend. I don't care if it's your uncle. I don't care if it's your aunt. I don't care if it's some headquarters. I don't care what it is, you'll make a choice between Jesus and nice folks, and friends, family. You'll make a different choice between the flesh and Jesus. You'll make a choice between the world of Jesus. You'll make a choice between yourself, pride, egos, rest. You'll make a choice between building treasures here on earth and building them in heaven. You'll make a choice in your heart. If you've got another route, forget it. Eat, drink, and be merry. You're going to hell. You'll either walk in love or you'll be destroyed. God drives in this earth. Now, see, that's why you can't cover something like this. I could just go for days right on top of what we're doing right here. God drives in this earth. All the haughty, all the arrogant, all the pride, the destruction and the lack of them. The moth and rottenness is what it refers to as a curse, and that's what it is. He cuts them in pieces. He cuts them in pieces just like you do in a covenant. You do to me and more, Lord, if I don't keep this covenant. That's curses, and so you're just torn to pieces. A lot of folks don't like to hear that. The flesh don't. So, while you're holding your place right there, just turn back to Proverbs 1. Hold your place and turn me back to Proverbs 1. I want to show you something. Proverbs, right after Psalm. Right after Psalm. I want to ask you something. What does 1 Corinthians tell us? Now, I could just do a whole bunch of things about understanding wisdom. But I want to just read you just a little bit right here. Proverbs 1. Now, have we already saw in Jude that the scoffers are those in the life days that fall after their own ungodly lusts, they're worldly minded and devoid of the spirit, haven't got the Spirit of God. Amen? Okay. Proverbs 1, verse 20. Wisdom. Can we go ahead and just say that, Jesus? Jesus shouts in the street. She lifts her voice in the square at the head of the noisy street. She cries out at the entrance of the gates of the city. She utters her saying. Her saying. Word. How long, O naive ones? Will you just continue to love this simplicity? And you scoffers that, you know, walk out of the flesh selfish, delight themselves in scoffing. And fools, that's the opposite of a wise heart. A fool just hate knowledge. They hate God's Word. Verse 23. Turn to my reproof. In other words, walk in repentance. And if you'll do this, behold, I'll pour out my Spirit on you. And then I'll make my words known to you. I'll give you revelation. That's going to end the famine for you. But you're going to have a famine of no understanding, ever learning, never able to come to knowledge. Until you receive my reproof and turn, repent and come to me with your whole heart. As a matter of fact, you're going to walk in darkness. Because I've called and you refused. I've stretched out my hand and no one pays any attention. You've delighted all my counsel and you didn't want my reproof. You didn't want reproof. So I'm going to laugh at your calamity when these powers of darkness. I'm going to mock when your dread comes. That's one of them. You know, let me just tell you something, folks. How many of yours ever had dread of things? That's one of their ministries is dread. And when you dread something, whenever you do it, that's when you're toward a peace. You dread talking on the phone. Every time you talk on the phone, they're going to attack you. I got too bad too many people to pray for, you know, and so forth. They make it so demands on me and I didn't stand in the fire. And that's back in those early days, Lee, when it wasn't nobody there to kind of hit me. And so I began dreading. And so I could feel perfectly good. And because I didn't stand in the fire, I let dread talk to me up there. And I began dreading, praying for people. And so what happened? I could feel perfectly good in the moment. I'd lay my hands on somebody to pray for them right there. I'd come apart. What have you dread? See, that's dread. That's calamity. So I'm going to mock. See, if you don't come to light, you never can get loose from it. See, I got free from it. But if I hadn't had to sacrifice, if I hadn't led to the Spirit, I wouldn't have known the difference. And I just kept getting heavier and heavier and heavier until it destroyed me. That's how you're driven from the earth. Are you hearing what I'm saying? What you fear comes on you. Perfect love casts out all fear. If you fear God, you won't fear nothing else. Amen? If you don't fear God, you're going to be afraid of everything. So I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention. You neglected all my counsel. You don't be led to the Spirit of God. You didn't want my reproof. You didn't want this one. So I'm going to laugh at your calamity. I'm going to mock when your dread comes. When your dread comes, there's a tree cutters. They come like a storm. And your calamity is going to come on like a whirlwind. When distress and anguish come on you and it's all over, folks, today, then it will call on me. But I'm not going to answer it. Now, James 4 showed you, you've got the wrong motive. So I don't answer your prayers. You pray with the wrong motive. They'll seek me diligently, but they're not going to find me. Tell us why? They've hated the Word of God. They've hated the Word. Their hearts have gone after men, intellect, theology, doctrines. Their hearts have gone after signs and wonders or casting out demons. Their hearts have gone everywhere, but it's not a love for the truth. So a diluting influence comes over them. Because they hated knowledge, they didn't want to go into maturity. They didn't want to have a pure heart. And they did not choose the what. You don't choose the fear of the Lord. You want to fear of folks. So when you fear of folks or something else, whoever you fear is who you want approval of. If you fear God, you want his approval. If you fear some folks and some people or some headquarters or something else, you want their approval. So you didn't choose the fear of the Lord. And they would not accept my counsel. And they spurned all my reproof every time I tried to leave them. So they're going to eat the fruit of their own ways. They're going to be satiated with their own devices. For the waveredness of the naive is going to kill them. And the complacency of fools is going to destroy them. Did I say they're going to be destroyed? Huh? But he who listens to me is led by the Spirit of God. He receives reproof. He receives discipline. He shall live securely. And he's going to be at ease from the dread of evil. Because I'm going to put a hedge of peace around him. I'm going to be a wall. And you know what that wall is? The glory of Jesus. Praise be to God forevermore. Now we're back over in Hebrews. Hebrews 12 now. Hebrews 12. Okay, now let's just see this again right now. Wasn't that pretty good there in Proverbs? So, in Hebrews 12, verse 8. But if you're without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you're illegitimate children. You're not the sons of God. Father, we have overlooked the disciplinedness. And we respected them and loved them, didn't we? Shall we not much rather be subject to the Father, love and respect him, and then live, receive discipline and reproof? For they disciplined us for a short time, it seemed best to them, our good, that we may what? Share his holiness. Listen, folks. I want you to turn right there. Hold your place and turn over to the right. He shares us so that we may. He disciplines so we are sharing his holiness. Amen? Is that right? Now we're in 1 Peter 1. And I want you to see that. Now, does he say he disciplines us for our good so we're sharing his holiness? Did he say he's coming after a holy and blameless bride? Did he say you better be found by him in peace? How do you pursue peace? By respect. The hedge comes when you're obeying God. God puts protection around you, and so that's how you walk in peace. Isn't that right? Same way you pursue peace is the same way you pursue love. If you're not pursuing peace, you're not pursuing love. You've got a perverted love. You're out there in works trying to please God. Brank's out there. Amen? Okay. Now, verse 14. As obedient children, you're not conformed to your former lust, and that's what the Lord's discipline is, to lead you away from it. Is that right? Is that right? Which were yours, and you're ignorant now. You're not conformed to it, but like the Holy One now, you're going to be holy yourself in all your behavior. For it's written, you're going to be holy, because I am holy, and if you address as Father the one who impartially judges according to each man's word, work, conduct yourself in fear during your time of stay upon this earth. Amen? There's no fear when you've got a false security, folks. And when there's no fear, there's no wisdom, there's no understanding, there's no knowledge, there's no reproof, there's no discipline, there's no holiness, there's no discernment, and everybody is destroyed. That's the fall and the way of the life. Now, we're back over in Hebrews 12. I'll read it again. Verse 10. For their discipline, for a short time, it seemed best to them, but the Lord disciplines us for our good, that we may share His holiness. For the moment seems not to be joyful when you suffer in the flesh, it's not joyful, is it? But it's sorrowful, yet to those who have been trained by it, trained by discipline, that's maturity. After it, it's going to yield what? Peaceful fruit of righteousness. Therefore, brethren, strengthen the hands of the weak and the knees of the feeble. The powers of darkness have got in on you. They've stolen your strength, they've been tearing your body all to pieces. And destroying you. And make your path straight. Possess this land. Hebrews 3 and 4, it wasn't an option, it said possess it, unless you have an evil, unbelieving heart. Make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint. If you walk straight paths, the powers of darkness are not going to put your limb out of joint, but it's rather, it's going to be healed. Amen. Pursue peace. That's the hedge and a protection of God with all men. And this sanctification, which is the will of God, without which, no one has. You're not going to see the Lord. Unless, you figure you've got you another tower built in the heaven. You found another way, which is under the works of the law. Another Jesus, another gospel, and another spirit. Because we talk about the will of God, in Romans 12, 1 and 2, and it says, rather than make your bodies living sacrifices, which is holy and acceptable unto God, this is just going to be your reasonable service of worship. And no longer be conformed to this world. Don't walk, talk and act like the world anymore. No longer conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you'll not only know, but prove what is the perfect will of God. Praise God. And the only way you're going to know it, is to walk, to walk in obedience, to the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, Romans 6. Romans 6. See, when you receive this word, that's not the word to men, what do you think it's doing in you? It's performing its work in you. Amen? And Romans 6. Now, verse 1. What shall we say then? Are you to practice sin? Are you to continue in sin, that grace might increase? Hmm. Isn't that interesting? God forbid. May it never be. How shall we who died to sin, still live in it? Verse 15. The church is not supposed to be under the law, are they? Is that right? Shake your head. Okay, verse 15. What then? Shall we sin? Because we're no longer under the law, we're not under the law, shall we go ahead and sin, but now we're under grace? God forbid. May it never be again. Verse 14. For no sin, I mean sin or no sin, is going to be master over you, because Jesus is your master. For you're not under the law, you're under grace, if Jesus Christ is your Lord. Amen? And then, verse 17. But thanks be to God, you become obedient from your what? You become obedient from your heart to that form of teaching. That form of teaching is the gospel to which you're now committed in your heart. And now having been freed from sin, you're slaves of righteousness now. You always come to the light. You receive reproof. You receive discipline. And you don't let any part of your body or any part of your mind or your heart go to any root or anything except the Lord Jesus Christ, because you love Him more than you do anything. And every time the Spirit of God shows you any mistake you make, you'll repent and turn from it, because you'll receive reproof and discipline. So then verse 19. I'm speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members before, previously, as slaves to impurity, you practiced sin in impurity. You had an impure heart. And to lawlessness. You were just like that fellow over there that thought he knew the Lord, casting out demons and miracles and prophesying and Matthew 7, and he didn't know the Lord. It just results in further lawlessness. So now present your members as slaves to righteousness. And when you present your members as slaves to righteousness, you turn away from the impurity and lawlessness. What's going to be the result of it? Sanctification. And then verse 22. For now having been freed from the sin, you become a slave of God. You're enslaved to God. That's what makes Jesus Lord. So why do you call me Lord, Lord and not do what I say? So you're freed from sin. You're enslaved to God. You derive your benefit, which results in sanctification. And then after you have sanctification, you receive eternal life. So that is the will of God. Sanctification. And a sanctification that you'll have a divine nature. And that nature will love your neighbors as yourself. Thus, this is a way to eternal life. And the only way. Everything else is a work of the law. Let me ask you something. Are you aware of the presence of God here? Are you aware of peace? Are you aware that something's happening to you every time you come near the Lord? And the Lord is purifying the heart. He's going to do such marvelous things. We're going to get our prayers answered. He's just going to do things around us. But he's going to do it. I had to remove the flesh. Because you don't share glory with anyone. The only thing that wants glory is the flesh. It wants to get some of the glory. If they can just get 20% of it, it'll be all right, God. But God only shared 20% of it because you don't have 80% sanctification. You have 100% sanctification. And I could go on to share some things about sin and practicing sin that I haven't even got a chance to go get into that just confirms it. See, the thing about the Word of God is when you start, either look through it through God's eyes or you look through it through the eyes of tradition, look through it through the eyes of a doctrine, and then you have tunnel vision, and it makes your traditions make the Word of God of no effect. God lets people draw near their mouth, and their heart's far from him. And he lets a deluding influence come over him because that's just the way God is. Either you recognize God as God or he destroys you. Now, this is the message that we're preaching. This is the message that we're teaching to build up another one. Please, men, obviously we're not pleasing men. And the ministry that we have is not gathered around anything but Jesus. It's not gathered around me or an organization. Our heart is not tied to any man except Jesus in the body of Christ. So, our motive is that we have a godly jealousy for you. We have a godly jealousy because we want all your hearts to belong to Christ, Jesus. And so our motive is that we bring the Word of God, that we tear down every stronghold, all sin, and everything in your heart's going to ours except the Lord Jesus Christ. And we can only do that for the people who will sit and hear the Word of God. I want you to look with me in Titus. Titus 2. It's going to really excite you, I believe. I believe it's going to bless you. I believe it's going to answer a lot of questions for you. Titus 2, verse 11. For the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to all men. Now, what does this grace of God do? This grace of God brings salvation, verse 12, instructing us to deny ungodliness. That's what this grace of God and the salvation does. It instructs you to deny ungodliness, to deny worldly desires, and this grace and salvation righteously and godly in the present age. Verse 14. He who gave himself for us, that he's going to redeem us from what? Every lawless deed and every work of disobedience. Amen? And what's that word? Purify or sanctify. Are you going to be purified? And that's sanctification. And this is what we're talking about. He's going to purify for himself a people for his own possession and they're going to be zealous for what? Good deeds. So this is how you prepare for good works. Now let me ask you something. Does your word say that you lay hands on the sick and they shall recover? Does your word say that you anoint with oil and they will be restored? But your Bible said it's the prayer, effective prayer of a righteous man that availeth much. Is that right? Now all of James is about double-mindedness of the people. As a matter of fact, it's to purify your heart you double-minded. And that's what we're talking about. If you're walking double-minded, your prayer's going to get answered and people just keep standing there and they use more oil and everything. So the only thing you see is just one, just a little piece of bread every now and then that came to that Canaanite woman that came with her daughter. She just got one little piece of the children's bread because she was a dog outside the covenant. She was walking outside the covenant garden. She said it's not good to kill with the children's bread the dog but she said but the bread the dogs get the bread that fall off the table. And he said but because of that answer you get a crumb of bread and that crumb of the children's bread is going to set your daughter free, that demon. Is that right? So that's all we've been getting is crumbs. You understand what I mean? It's a crumb here and there. Alright now, chapter 3 verse 3 For we once were, now circle that word once were which means you're not there anymore. You once were foolish, you once were disobedient, you once were deceived, you once were enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, you once were spending your life in malice, you once were envious of each other, you were hateful to each other, you once were hating one another but when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared that's when you received the light and you received Jesus, then he saved us. Now circle he saved us. Now it's not on the basis of deeds which we've done in righteousness because you're trying to do it that way as it works the law. But he saved us and how did he save us? By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Now what is the washing? Look here. The Holy Spirit brings the word and he starts renewing, washing your heart there and renewing your mind. See when you wash your heart in rebellion it renews your mind and you begin to think more and act more like the Lord you turn more and more of a you don't act like the old nature the old satanic nature of selfishness right? So as a result now this is very important that you see what I'm fixing to tell you. As a result of the Spirit of God which is the grace of God which washes your heart the result of removing selfishness from your heart all you do is just obey you see. If not you it doesn't. You can't do it. If you ever think you can you build another tower into heaven. The only way if you can now he removes the Spirit of God removes from your heart you suffer the flesh you come in he removes all selfishness and self-centeredness there. And as he removes all selfishness from your heart the result of it is that you're going to have a heart that loves your neighbor as yourself. Amen? Now that's what happened because when all selfishness is gone and see you have to work of the Spirit in you because branch don't get out there and go to try to bear fruit for himself. He has to continue in Jesus because the root has to be in his heart of Jesus and everything he does he does in Jesus because he wants to please him more than anything. Glory be to God forevermore. I'm glad we didn't stop. Okay. Now Lord in the name of Jesus I ask just special blessings on these people right here. Lord I just ask signs and wonders Father in the name of Jesus. I just ask God just abundance of grace to people who are learning to persevere and endure and it love your word. I ask this right now in Jesus name. So now let's turn to 1 Corinthians 6. This is better me telling some of my nice stories isn't it? Alright and first so sanctification is and purifying is the work of the Spirit of God isn't that right? So verse 9. Or do you not know? 1 Corinthians 6 verse 9. Do you not know? Either you know or you don't know. Do you not know that the unrighteous folks shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Now this is the very place right here that the powers of darkness Satan is going to try to deceive you so do not be deceived. That's the reason God put it in his Bible. Neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor effeminate nor homosexuals nor thieves nor the covetous nor drunkards nor revelers. When you are avowed you are avowed back. Nor swindlers. None of these are going to inherit the kingdom of God. Is that plain? Now if you know some good Greek somewhere you can probably twist that around. Verse 11. And such were. Have you circled the word were? Such were some of you. You used to be fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, effeminate, covetous, drunkards, revelers, swindlers and the things of flesh. Such were some of you but you were what? You were worse because Jesus Christ is Lord of your whole heart. You were worse. And then being worse you were what? You're sanctified and then when you're sanctified that's when you're what? You're justified because Romans 2 that's when you become a doer of the law. Hallelujah to Jesus. You become a doer of the law. You are a doer of the law. I mean you fulfill the law. And you establish the law. What about that? Well you do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and the spirit of our God. Now I want you to turn with me to 1 Peter 1. Praise God. Boy I'm telling you he's precious. Well I tell you what you just brag on God and he just keeps doing more it seems like. I tell you what it's better to brag on God than it is folks isn't it? Hallelujah. I believe one of these days I'm just going to fly off one of these stages up here and I'm just going to start doing handsprings, backflips, double over nunders. I tell you what I'm so overwhelmed by the grace of God that I can't hardly stand it. I'm consumed by the grace of God. I've got just little enough sense I'm getting glimpses of the grace of God and I can't hardly stand it. That's all grace. Hallelujah. Boy praise God. 1 Peter 1. I want you folks to settle down. 1 Peter 1 verse 3. We are protected by the power of God through faith unto salvation. Now let's slow down there verse 5. To this salvation which is ready and it's going to be revealed in the right time. This salvation. Now we're born again of the word of God isn't that right? It's a living hope. I mean our hope stays all the time the Lord. Verse 6. In this in this you greatly rejoice even though now for a little while if necessary you have been what? There they are right there. Now there's the trial. There's the affliction and persecution. It's distressed by various trials. Amen? Now verse 7. That's the proof of your faith. Is God going to let your faith be proved? Did he let Adam and Eve's faith be proved? Did he let the faith of Jesus be proved? If it's Satan testing them all, he's testing you. Did he let their faith be tested and proved? And the proof of your faith is going to be more precious than what? Folks when you come through the fire and the only way you can come through the fire is the Spirit of God is don't come through these tests. That's how you become gold. You want to tell you what the gold is? That's divine nature. Amen? I thought I'm seeing that all over you Bill. I'm just seeing, boy, just a pure heart, boy, I'm just so blessed. I'm telling you what. And I get around people like this that they're unashamedly and I just see that, boy, I just see that Jesus have a holier heart. I just say I can hardly stand it. Alright. But the proof of your faith is more precious than what? Gold. Which is perishable even though it's what? Now your faith is tested by fire. Now where do we find that fire to be? The sun and being scorched. That's persecution and affliction. Isn't that right? And so when the pressures and everything come upon you, you're either going to respond in the flesh or you're going to die and trust the Lord. Is that right? When the pressures and everything, you're either going to respond in the flesh or you're going to die and trust the Lord. Is that right? And then if you've suffered a while, what's the Lord going to do? He's going to perfect you, confirm you, and then you're going to be established after you have suffered for a little while. Amen? You're going to prove you love the Lord more than you do yourself first though, aren't you? You're going to prove you love the Lord more than anything because if you don't love the Lord more than anything else, you'll never be obedient to him. And so this is a testing ground to see if you're worthy for heaven. Everything that don't walk in love here is not going to go to heaven. Can I tell you? Alright now. Verse 9. Now you obtain the outcome of your faith, which is going to be the salvation of your mind, will, and emotions. It's going to be the salvation of your soul, right? Yeah, I mean, all of you is going to be saved. I mean, your body is going to be destroyed, but you're going to have the mind of Christ. Is that right? As it is in verse 14, do not be conformed, though, to these former lusts. Now that's what you're supposed to give up, which were your ignorance. But now, like the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy One, who called you, you're going to be holy in all your behavior because you're going to be tested by fire, and you're going to be distressed for trials, and this is the salvation that's being revealed to you, right? The sanctification. So you're going to be holy in all your behavior because it is written, you shall be holy, for I am holy. Now let's read 17. And if you address his Father, the one who impartially judges according to each man's work. That's how he, each man's work is what your fruit is, isn't it? Conduct yourself now in the fear during your time of sep on the earth. Now look at verse 22. Since you have in obedience to the word of God, and obedience to truth, what have you done? You have purified your souls. Now when you obey the word, you purify your mind, will, and emotions. Is that right? Now that's the part that the powers of darkness attack when your heart lives for lust, they attack your mind, will, and emotions. They tear your mind, will, and emotions all to pieces. But when you obey in the word and live in the spirit of God, you purify your mind, will, and emotions. For a sincere love of the what? Brethren, when you obey the truth, I'm going to tell you this is how you fulfill the law by loving one another as yourself. It's a sincere love of the brethren. It's not deceitful, like motive. Heart. Heart. And that's what God put us for here and you know it got perverted by Satan. Verse 23 Selfishness and self-centeredness and self-love. People's love waxes cold. For you have been born again. Born again. You're born again, not of seed that's perishable, but imperishable. That is, you're born again through the living and abiding word of God. Now let me ask you something. Anybody can be born again or worse to find themselves a security. Whereas the Bible just becomes a religious exercise. And you don't have to read it, but if you, and you have acceptable sins and you have sins that's not acceptable, you can practice some sins. Don't practice those pooh-rooing sins. By all means quit drinking, smoking, chewing, and cussing. Or you hear what I'm saying? But it's alright to have bitterness go out different doors. It's okay to have unforgiveness, judgment, criticism. But I'm going to tell you it's not okay, folks. Now in chapter 2, verse 1, therefore it says, here's the way you do it, verse 1. Now all of chapter 1, 1 Peter 1 and 2 is about a divine nature. 1 Peter 2, verse 1, therefore put aside all malice. Here goes the flesh. You put aside all guile. Was any guile found in the mouth of Jesus? Guile is, you know, it's the works of the flesh coming out of your heart, right? You put aside all hypocrisy, sin one thing and walk another. You put aside all envy and you put aside all slander. It's not coming out of your mouth because what kind of heart do you have? You're possessing the land. Is that right? You're not like newborn babes long for the pure milk of the Word that by it you may, what? You're going to grow in what? Respect to salvation because this Word is going to purify you until you come into sanctification and in sanctification is when you're going to see the Lord. Is that right? That's how you can conduct yourself in fear. Is that right? Now there's volumes more I can say about that right now but could you kind of receive that for now? Don't let nothing kick you. Verse 5. You also as living stones, that's what we are, we're built up into the spiritual house. Now the living stones of the spiritual house is not stone and wood. Is it? Bricks. We're the church because we are a holy priesthood, you see, holy and we offer up spiritual sacrifice except for God through the Lord Jesus Christ, don't we? So let's look at verse see I didn't mean to go down there so I'm going to go ahead and show you something. Verse 7. This precious by you is those who believe or those who disbelieve the stone which the builders reject. The builders reject the stone today, don't they? This became the very cornerstone and you know when you reject any part of the word of God here's what you do. Here's what you're rejecting Jesus and he becomes a stone a stumbling and a rock of offense. When you become offended by any part of the word of God Jesus becomes a stumbling stone to you and he's a rock of offense. Therefore you're stumbling because your heart's really in disobedience to the word and to this doom they were also appointed. Is that right? I didn't mean to go there but I'm glad I did now. Go to verse 21. For you have been called for this purpose since Christ also suffered you. What did he do? Jesus came here to show you how to be reconciled back to God and this is the word of reconciliation. Is that right? He left you examples of you to walk in his steps and follow in his steps. Now here's an example. He did not commit no sin nor was any deceit found in his mouth. He wasn't deceitful and so he doesn't want deceitful and if you have to make a mistake and make a sin you can go to sacrifice but you know you're not doing it willfully. Amen? Okay. 23. And while being reviled, Jesus did people come about against Jesus and speak condemnation and slander and discredit him? Right. He did not revile in return. Do you see that? He didn't revile back and that's the way the example for you and I are not to revile back. While suffering, when he got the trowel, now if I could walk down and get ahold of that preacher again and start pressing on him, when the trowels and the fire came on him, you know, he uttered no threats while suffering. He didn't utter no threats but he just kept on standing in the word and trusting himself to the him who judged righteously. Is that good? So here's the purpose of what Jesus did at the cross. And he himself bore our sins in his body on the cross that you might watch. You're going to die to sin and then what's the next part you're going to do? You're going to live righteously and then that's the way you receive the finished works of Calvary for by his wounds you were healed. That's when covenant comes to you, when it's established when you die to sin and live to righteousness you've established the covenant and then that's when you receive the benefit of it and that's where the prayer of a righteous man has failed us much. Amen? Amen? Praise God. Now chapter three, I'm going to skip some here. Verse 18. For Christ also died for sins once for all, for the just, for the unjust in order that he might bring us to God having what? Put to death in the flesh and that's the way we'll put to death in the flesh but he's made alive in the spirit and that's how you and I walk and if I had time to go over in Colossians 2, 4 through 6 if you want to write it there you can see it because that is our circumcision that we put off the sins of the flesh. That's the circumcision that we have today, right? We're the people of faith, we're sons of Abraham and we have that circumcision. Alright now, in 1 Peter 4. Therefore since Christ has suffered in the flesh arm yourselves all with the soul of the same purpose because he who suffered in the flesh has ceased in sin. Now that's doing the will of God. You suffer in the flesh when these trials and afflictions come on you. So as to live the rest of the time in the flesh you live no longer for the lust of men you're not going to live to please men but you're living with the will of God and the will of God is what? Sanctification of pure heart. Is that right? Is that the will of God? Sanctification to have a pure heart, right? Okay, now look at verse 12. Beloved brethren, do not be surprised then that when these fiery ordeal, all these pressures and you know James 1 said to count it all joy but don't be surprised at this fiery ordeal among you which comes upon you for what? It's going to come up for your testing as though some strange thing were happening to you. Now you expect these things. You're going to be persecuted, you're going to be died of the flesh but each time folks, listen, as you go through these things, let me tell you what happens. This is how the power and anointing comes more and more on you as you die because in each thing that you pass the test, you prove yourself to love and you get promoted. I mean God just puts more on you. I'm going to tell you and he's just going to be doing more through you. That's absolutely true. Verse 13 puts it the degree that you want. What are you going to do? You share the sufferings of Christ. Now what did Christ come here for? He came here to show you how to He come here to lead you and to show you how to be rid of the selfishness and rebellion of God that has hell and smoke on everybody in the world, right? I mean the world is already judged. I mean the judgment, the wrath of God is on them and he's come here with covenants to lead some folks out of to sanctify and get rid of this rebellion out of their heart, amen? But when you continue to practice, you prove you love it more than you do Christ, right? Now that's the purpose of Jesus. He was came as a light to the people sitting in darkness in the shadow of death and he became life to the people sitting in death, right? Okay. So we share his sufferings right there. Now I wish you would just hold your place right there and turn me back to James 1. Alright, turn me back to James 1. James 1. Now look right here in James 1 verse 2. Consider it all joy by what? We're talking to brethren when you encounter various trials. Now folks, isn't that amazing statement right there when all the pressure of trials come on you to count it as joy? Now see that's supernatural and that's where we're supposed to be walking and standing at. Knowing that the test of your faith is going to produce endurance. Every trial that you go through, something's going to die in you. And then you're just going to have total peace and nothing shakes you anymore, right? Okay. And let endurance, verse 4, it's going to have a perfect result. Every time, and this is how you endure to the end, that you may be perfect, you're going to complete because you're really lacking in nothing if you stand and walk in that particular place right there. Is that correct? Alright, now. Blessed is the man Well, I'm going to read a little 11 right there. For the sun rises, and with a scorching wind, and withers the grave. You see enough there that I don't need to say anymore. That's the trials right there come in, see. This all comes before James 5, 14 and 15, but I thought I was going to handle some of that some other time. But you see it there. What we're talking about. So when you go through the scorching wind and you don't wither and everything, you come out sanctified. Is that right? Alright. But blessed is the man, verse 12, who perseveres under trial. He's going to have be sanctified. For once he has been approved, he's going to receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him. The one that loves him is going to obey his commandments. Now let no one say when he's tempted, I'm being tempted by God. God's not the one that tempts by evil, and he himself doesn't tempt anyone. It's not, it's the devil that comes around to tempt you after obeying. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and he's enticed by what? Lust. Now this is the fiery trials it's talking about. That you are tempted and you are enticed by the lust of flesh, if you don't put it to death, and then if you let this lust come in, it's going to carry you away. Do you see it in verse 4? What's it going to carry you away from? It's going to carry you away from the faith, and that's falling away. Then when lust is conceived, that's for people that won't walk to the light, come back to the light. Then when lust is conceived, that means you receive these darts and everything, take it in your heart and start agreeing and walking in it. Lust is conceived, that's the seeds of the devil, seeds of rebellion, seeds of the flesh, and it gives birth to sin. Sin is rebellion to God. And then when this sin is accomplished, it's accomplished when you're in agreement with your heart, then it brings forth death, because that's when the powers of darkness are able to work, because Jesus came to let me just read it in Hebrew, I wish I hadn't even said it right then, but it got started so I've got to say it. You know what it says? He might render powerless him who had power of death, that is, the devil. You see what I mean? He's going to render him powerless. Now, so, so when the lust is conceived, that's rebellion, you get agreement with your heart, it gives birth to sin, and then sin's accomplished when you act on it, and then it brings forth death. Now, I wonder who it's talking to right here, verse 16. Do not be what? Deceived by who? Beloved brethren, well, we need some academic and intellect here to tell us who that might be talking to, don't we? Because it says brethren can be deceived. You know why? Did it say brethren can be deceived? Brethren, I think, I'm glad it didn't sound like salvation's a walk, doesn't it? Like saved and being saved, isn't that right? Okay, now I want you to turn with me over to 1 Peter 5, now, this is where we were. I'm going to go to 4, 19 first. 1 Peter 4, 19. Therefore, let those also who suffer according to the want I can't hear you. You're going to suffer according to the will of God, and the will of God's the one that's going to help them, is that right? The will of God's the one that's sanctifying their hearts, purifying their hearts. Entrust their souls to a faithful creator in what? Doing righteousness, doing what's right in God's eyes. But, we see right there resisting when you face suffering or being accomplished by your what? Brethren, we see right there in verse 9 we got something to say to the brethren again. Did it say a while ago that the brethren could be deceived that they be tempted after lust and carried away? Amen? Alright, now, we know we're talking to brethren. Let's see what it says to brethren, back up in verse 8. Brethren, be of sober spirit. Brethren, you be on the alert. Now, the opposite of being serious and on the alert is someone who's in the war, they're having their warfare, they're maturing and they're having their senses sharpened to discern good and evil. They are held up their weapons and they're on the alert and they're not asleep. Now, asleep people are like over in Revelation 3, Laodicea, it's already rich and increasing good. She's already arrived. She's blind, can't see, naked, poor, and lost. You understand what I mean? But this right here, that right here, it says, brethren, you be sober and alert because your adversary, the devil, the power of the darkness, they prowl about, prowl about, they're like roaring lions and they're seeking some brethren to devour. They're seeking brethren to devour. Is that plain? They are seeking brethren to devour. Now, you know why we know it's brethren, we're talking to brethren and saying brethren, they're going to come to try to get you. But it says, brethren, ignore them. No. Brethren, resist the powers of darkness, firm in your what? Faith. Now, brethren, the only one that can have faith, isn't that right? And that's the example that Jesus showed us in Luke 4, when he went through all the temptations he had without sin, and in the 14th verse, he received the power after it proved his heart wholly impure. Is that right? But resisting, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience is of what? Suffering. Now, brethren, suffer. Every time the powers of darkness come and suggest something to you in the flesh, when you have to put it to death, when you give up pride, it's going to suffer. When you give up lust, it's going to suffer. When you give up greed, you're going to suffer. You understand what I mean? You're going to suffer when you give these things up. And this is what they're going to come to make greed alive, and then when you choose against it. You're going to suffer when you give up anger. You're going to suffer when you give up, are you hearing what I mean? Spite and grudge and unforgiveness. You're going to suffer. You flesh. But the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your what? Brethren who end the world. Now, here is the trials that come to him, verse 10. And after you have what? Now, after you've suffered for a little while, and you've gone through these trials, and you've proven your heart pure, the God of all grace has called you to his eternal glory in Christ. Here's what he's going to do. He himself, he's going to perfect you, then the Lord is going to confirm you, then he's going to pour strength on you, and then he's going to establish you. 2 Peter 1, verse 4. So here's how, after you've done these things, you've been confirmed strength, and you resist the devil, and you've come through the fire. This is coming through the fire right up here, what you see in resisting the devil and dying of flesh, not reviling back when you're vile. And the result of this in 2 Peter 1, verse 4. By these he has granted us his precious and magnificent promise. In these promises here, this word, in order that by this word, right here in these promises, you're now going to become partakers of what? That's how you put to death the old nature, and you put on the new nature, and this is the way you escape this born again with the word of God, and having escaped the corruption that's in the world by love. And that's exactly how you did it. Amen? So, we see right there, if we just continue on, we see the fruit of divine nature right there in verse 5. Now see, all of 1 Peter is to come to that divine nature, and that divine nature is a sanctified heart. And we see there in 2 Peter 1, verse 5, now this very reason you have diligence, and in it is the house of faith, and the faith of moral excellence, and moral excellence. Now this is the result, this is the fruit of it. Your knowledge, you're going to have self-control. Self-control, you become strong and resistant to sin and perseverance, and in your perseverance, you're going to have godliness. In your godliness, you're going to have brotherly kindness. In your brotherly kindness, you're going to have love and the Lord Jesus Christ. But we run into something right here in the next verse. Now I want you to watch it very closely. But he who lacks these qualities, if this is not in your life, they're blind. They're short-sighted. Now there's, you're looking at Laodicea right there. They're short-sighted. They having forgotten history. But I want to read this to you just one more time. When you've forgotten your form of purification for sin, that's what you repented from. And if I rebuild what I once destroyed, I prove myself a transgressor. You're supposed to be destroying the flesh nature. And if you rebuild it, you prove yourself a transgressor, because it's said in verse 17, they're finally seeking to be justified in Christ. You're found sinners. Christ not diminished this sin. You're not being led for the Spirit of God right there. So, you are, have forgotten your form of purification and you've turned back to the pig bin. There's a dog turning his vomit, you see, over in the next chapter too. Therefore, brethren, you better be all the more diligent. You better make certain about his calling and choose for as long as you want. If you practice these things, you're never going to stagger and stumble. You're not going to be a drunkard. You're never going to stumble. You're going to know the way when you start stumbling. Verse 11. For in this way, the entrance into the eternal kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. Now, once more, we see the divine nature of sanctification. We see this the way to eternal life. Are you seeing that plainly, folks? You see that? Now, I want to just show you something about being blind now. Revelation 3. I want to show you the opposite of that, of a person being blind right there. Revelation 3. Revelation 3. Let's just start in verse 15. It said, I know your deeds. Now, what is he saying right there? I know your fruit. I know your walk. That you are neither cold nor hot. Let's go on. Verse 17. Because you say I am rich. In other words, rich folks have already arrived. I have become wealthy. I have need of nothing. Now, let me just show you who these folks are. Let me just show you. When you are loving, Jesus is going to come to those who eagerly await him. Is that right? Alright, now, if your heart loves the flesh, the flesh loves the world. If your heart, if you love the world, you're not eagerly awaiting the return of the Lord. As a matter of fact, you're going to shrink back. You know what I mean? Alright, now, a person who still loves his flesh, he's going to build his kingdom here on earth. Now, he'll do the things of the Lord, but he's going to build his kingdom of the Lord. And when you've already arrived here and you've got your name, reputation, all these things of the flesh here, you do religious things. And you're already rich. You've already arrived because you don't have to be led by the Spirit of God. Because you've already compared yourself among yourself and measured yourself by yourself and you're without understanding. You're deceived because you've already gathered yourself to a false security. It's a foundation of sand. This is why anybody thinks they've already arrived. They're not conducting themselves in the fear of God when they've already arrived. You know that, don't you? Now, let's just see right there, what he says. Because you say, I'm rich, I've become wealthy and you really have need of nothing. And if you have a need of nothing, you've already arrived. You're already there. And you don't know that you are wretched. You don't know that you're a miserable person. You don't know that you're poor. You don't know that you're tormented and judgment's on you. You don't know that you're blind. You don't know that you're lost, naked. You don't have the garments of salvation or robe of right. You don't know these things. You don't know them. You've already arrived and you're already there. Now, that's the ones who lack those qualities which we read about in 2 Peter 2. They're blind. If you're not worthy of the divine nature, you're not. Now, he said, verse 18, I advise you to advise me, go refine my fire. Now, what is he saying right there? He said, I'm advising you to go through this fire and to be purified and come out like gold. Is that right? Buy it from me and let me lead you, want you to repent and let me bring you on through this fire and then you're going to have divine nature of the gold. Amen? But see, right now, hell's on you and you're headed this way and right now you're lost. Amen? But, I advise you to buy from me, go refine my fire, divine nature, that you may, and then you're going to become rich and then you can have quiet garment and then you may clothe yourself and then this shame of this lostness and nakedness may not reveal and there's some eyes there if you're going to have to anoint your eyes and you're going to be able to see then. Disciples are the only ones to see. The others just keep on seeing, don't perceive, hear or understand. You have ears to hear and not to see, right? Now, verse 19, now watch very closely what he says. Those whom I love I reprove and discipline. But you are not receiving reproof and discipline because I see your deeds and you think you've already arrived and you don't know that you're miserable, that the powers of darkness are tormenting you, that you're poor, you're blind, you're naked, you're lost. You don't know this. But if the ones I love I reprove and discipline and you're not receiving discipline because you're not coming through the fire to become like gold. Amen? Do you see that? So be zealous therefore and the first thing you need to do is what? Repent or you'll die in your sins. Now behold, he says, I'm standing at the door. I'm knocking. If anyone hears my voice and he'll open that door, I'll come in and I'll dine with him and he'll dine with me. What does that mean? What are you going to dine on? You're going to live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Folks, spiritual folks, live on what we're doing right now. You've come to dinner. You're dining with Jesus. He knocked on the door and got in. Amen? If you're not offended, then he's not a son of his own. He likes it here. That's the reason he's changing some hearts and lives. Mine too. Glory. He got in. Amen. There's going to be some folks that come knocking on his door and they can't get in the ark. In just a few days, salvation is going to be shut off. How do you knock on the door? The door of Jesus. And you're praying to be saved and you can't. And all the torment and hell that's coming on earth. There's never been a time like it right now. Now verse 21, he said, the one who overcomes, he's the one I'm going to grant to sit down on my throne. Now what is there to overcome? The world of flesh. You overcome by receiving reproof and discipline. You overcome by coming through the fire. You overcome by coming out like gold. This is the way you overcome. And that's the one. Folks, you see it. That's the one that's going to sit on the throne with Jesus. As I also overcame, you're going to overcame as I overcome. I already showed you. Walk as I walk. You suffer as I walk. You sat down with my father on his throne. Is this plain? Now, one last thing. If you have a ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the who. Churches. Now, you're hearing it. I've read, you know, it's a long time I read this and I didn't have a ear to hear. Now I've got a ear to hear. I can see what he's saying. So, I thank God for the grace. We don't hear things because we're smart. The natural mind understands not the things of God. That's a problem that academic and intellect are going to follow. He said, not many wise as the flesh are going to be called because we've trusted the wise after the flesh to hear from God and we're going to be intimidated and let them be the kings and then we won't have to hear the voice of God. That's the way it was when he wanted to come off the mountain, didn't want to hear the voice of God. It was rather Moses talked to him, right? Because he don't like to hear because he comes and shakes things, brother, if your heart's not right, isn't that right? I mean, he had law to speak. He spoke that law. He said, you're not going to do this. You shall not steal. You're not going to have idols in your heart. You're not going to have you're not going to have any graven image. Your heart's going to bow down. He's saying it today, but a lot of folks don't like to hear that. They like to hear somebody else interpret it from God. Are you hearing what I'm saying? See, that's the law that's standing against everybody right now. If that's where you want to walk in. But the poor blind and naked and those who love are reproved. Now, I want you to tell me Galatians 2. I want you to see it again. Galatians 2, verse 7. If while seeking to be justified in Christ, you're found to be sinners, are you purifying your heart? Are you being sanctified? Huh? And without this sanctification, did your words say you're not going to see the Lord? Does that bring a little fear in your heart? Does that huh? All of a sudden, this is not ho-hum God, is it? Christ, then, is not the minister of that sin, is it? No. It's a different spirit. Verse 18. For if I rebuild what I once destroyed, I prove myself to be a transgressor. You're a transgressor of the law. And you receive reproof and discipline if you come back to the sacrifice. You know what I mean? But if you don't receive discipline, then you're practicing rebellion. And when you practice sin, you make an idol in your heart. When you make an idol in your heart, you've found something more important and you love more than the Lord. And when you find something more important than the Lord, you're carried away and you fall away. Amen? Are you seeing that? Now, it's everything I'm saying still love, isn't it? Because here's what they did over in the next chapter, verse 3. Galatians 3, 3. Are you so foolish having begun with the spirit? Are you now being perfected with the flesh? Are you now going to turn to the flesh? You've said your words now and you've done your thing. Are you now going to go back to the flesh? Now, that's a problem. That you rebuild what you once destroyed, you prove yourself to be a transgressor. Now, verse 10. For as many as are the ones who works the law, you're under a curse. And that's just exactly where it puts people. And that's why he's talking about over in Revelation 3, you don't know that you're miserable. You don't know that you're miserable. You don't know the torment and hell that's on you. You see, you don't have because you don't have any understanding because you're blind and you just can't see. Now, Christ, you know, in verse 13 resumed us from the curse of the law. The law brings a curse. But when you're on the works of the law, you're walking out of the law and the curse is on you and the curse moves the heads and the fires and the tree cutters come in and they come and gather and you wither. You won't go through the fire. You won't be obedient to God because your heart's turned somewhere else. Are you seeing? And which proves you don't really love the Lord with all your heart. Now, let's just read it again and see if this has changed anything since the last time you read it. Matthew 7, 14. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life and fewer of those are going to find it. Does that verse keep changing every time you read it? The gate is small narrow and few that go to heaven. Are you seeing that? Do you know that the Lord has vessels of wrath and vessels of mercy? The vessels of wrath he lets them be destroyed. The vessels of mercy with his patience and kindness he leads them into having a divine nature. Do you understand that? So man better be careful about his mouth only the flesh wants to boast. If anybody boasts he's still in the flesh. Now verse 15. Beware of the false preachers. They're going to come to you in these sheep's clothing but their hearts are still living out of the flesh and if their hearts still live out of the flesh you know what they're going to do? They're going to be like a wolf. They'll take the things that God showed you, things you never knew before but they'll exploit you and use you and that's exactly what 2 Peter 2 shows you. Verse 16. You're going to know them for their fruit. When you see this thing come out of their mouth then you're going to know where their heart is. Verse 21. Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord did enter the kingdom of heaven but he who is wise does the will of God. Now do you see the false prophets and false preachers going to lead people to bear the wrong fruit and they're going to shed their blood. Right? They're going to come as sheep but inwardly they're wolves. Their hearts are trained in greed. See a heart's trained in greed is when you don't submit to the spirit of God and so you're deceptive in your heart and your motives are wrong and you take the things of God. Oh you go out and help God out a little bit while you build yourself, build things around yourself. Now they'll lead you not to act on the word of God therefore your nature remains as a man who cast out demons and prophesied there and did miracles but he continued to practice laws. He continued in sin. You see what I mean? Jesus said I never did know you. Now the powers of darkness moved in on that man, another spirit and another gospel and another Jesus and he moved in on that man to draw people to the man. Are you seeing what I'm saying? See you don't go by signs and wonders or speaking in tongues or a three by five card or anything. You go by people's fruit. You see if they come to life and you're sanctified by doing the will of God. So they're going to say in the last day Lord, Lord and he'll say I don't know you. Your heart followed men. Your foundation was sand. You love people more than you love God. Turn to Luke 13. Luke 13 verse 23 and some said to him Lord as just a few are being saved and he said verse 24 you better strive you better do your best to get in that narrow door for many folks I tell you you're going to try to get through that narrow door but they're not going to be able to because once the head of the house gets up and he shuts that door was it shut on the ark when the flood came and the days of Noah I think there's going to be a days of Noah again. You're right in the middle of it once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door and you're going to stand where? Outside. Now you know the ones that stood outside you know in the parable of the word they were outside the kingdom there wasn't disciples and they were outside and they couldn't see hear or understand do you remember that? But they stand outside that's what they do in the parable of the word they can't perceive because they stand outside and they knock on the door. Now what are they going to knock on the door knocking on the door like I said Jesus is the door and they're going to knock praying to get into the ark praying to get into heaven and Jesus the Lord will say and they'll say Lord Lord and who are these he's talking about? Those who bore the wrong fruit who did not do the will of God. Are you seeing what I'm saying? Huh? They bore the fruit of rebellion in flesh and the Lord opened up for us then he will answer them and say to you I don't know where you're from you're not of my household you're not of my household and then he'll begin to say well we ate and we drank in your presence and you taught in our speech you know where we were walking with you Lord you know where we walk with you you come and you taught in our church you know for 35 years I heard your word 50 years I heard your word. Lord you remember all those things I did I cast out demons I prophesied you know I did miracles all in your name you taught there and I went and I just carried your word all over the place and he'll say to them he will say I tell you I don't know where you're from depart from me all you evil doers who bear the wrong fruit your doctrine was sin you didn't obey God's word you didn't do the will of God you didn't purify and sanctify your heart and you're not going to receive eternal life because all you did was just work after the flesh it was work for the flesh your heart trusted in men your heart trusted in ungodly doctrines you never did turn me the whole heart if you had all my heart I could have led you unto all truth because you would have believed it when I said that my words are not for private interpretation I'm no respecter of people but you want to make it complicated instead of simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ you didn't seek me if you'd ever sought me you would have turned from the ungodly sins and so if you turn back to Luke 6 verse 49 but the one who hears the word of God and doesn't act on the word of God he has a heart and a heart and that's a sin unto death and that's what ungodly doctrine that does not conform you to God teaches you to do it gives you a security and then you resist the word of God and the sin unto death is to win the word of God you can never come to the word of God because you're programmed and that's doctrines of demons and if you want to know more about that you stick with me another day or two it'd be plainer than it already is it's not acted accordingly it's like a man who built his house on the ground without any foundation that doesn't act upon the word he doesn't have any foundation the carnal doctrine doesn't give you any foundation and then that river as the powers of darkness they burst against it immediately it collapsed and ruined that house the ruin of that house was great verse 46 why did you call me lord lord and you didn't do what I say you didn't do you called me lord lord and you never did do what my word said because your heart went somewhere else I don't know you you're not of my household you don't bear my fruit this concludes tape number six please fast forward this tape to return it to the beginning please proceed to tape number seven where this message continues for additional tapes write be fruitful and multiply post office box 160065 Irving Texas 75016 post office box 160065 Irving Texas 75016
