Context — Living for God’s Glory
10As good stewards of the manifold grace of God, each of you should use whatever gift he has received to serve one another.
11If anyone speaks, he should speak as one conveying the words of God. If anyone serves, he should serve with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 12Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial that has come upon you, as though something strange were happening to you.Cross References

To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as He determines. |

1 Peter 4:10 Summary
[This verse reminds us that God has given each of us unique gifts and abilities, and He wants us to use them to serve and bless others. By doing so, we demonstrate our love for God and for each other, and we reflect the heart of Jesus, who came to serve and give His life for us (Mark 10:45). As we seek to serve others, we can look to examples in the Bible, such as the early church in Acts 2:44-47, where believers shared their resources and cared for one another's needs. By serving one another, we can build each other up and create a community that reflects the love and grace of God.]
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean to be a good steward of God's manifold grace?
Being a good steward of God's manifold grace means using the unique gifts and abilities God has given us to serve and bless others, as seen in 1 Peter 4:10, and to do so with humility and gratitude, recognizing that every good thing comes from God (James 1:17).
How do I know what gift I have received from God?
The Bible teaches that every believer has been given at least one spiritual gift to use for the benefit of others (1 Corinthians 12:7), and we can discover our gifts by praying, seeking feedback from others, and looking for opportunities to serve and minister to those around us (Romans 12:3-8).
Is serving one another just for people in full-time ministry?
No, serving one another is a command for all believers, regardless of their profession or position, as seen in 1 Peter 4:10, and is a way for us to demonstrate our love for God and for each other (John 13:35, Galatians 5:13).
How can I use my gift to serve others if I don't feel like I have any special talents?
Every believer has something to offer, whether it's a listening ear, a helping hand, or a word of encouragement (Proverbs 12:25, Acts 4:36-37), and we can all use our unique experiences and perspectives to serve and bless others in meaningful ways.
