If “mystery” is original, copyists borrowed “testimony” from verse 6 of chapter 1. If “testimony” is original, copyists borrowed “mystery” from verse 7 of chapter 2. The UBS Textual Committee felt that the reading “mystery” fits better with what Paul is trying to say.
