In the Christian life, prayer for one another is a vital expression of love and care. The apostle James encourages believers to confess their sins to each other and pray for healing, emphasizing the power of righteous prayer (James 5:16). The New Testament letters, such as Ephesians and 1 Timothy, urge believers to pray for all people, including those in positions of authority, and to make supplications with thanksgiving. As seen in Philippians and Matthew, praying for others involves not only intercession but also blessing and loving those who may be considered enemies, demonstrating the radical nature of Christian love.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail.
Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone—
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. For if one falls down, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to help him up! Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one keep warm alone? And though one may be overpowered, two can resist. Moreover, a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Rejoice at all times. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.
Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Now I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.
