In a life of devotion, believers are called to surrender their time and energies to Jesus. As James emphasizes, faith without action is dead, and this includes giving Jesus our daily moments and schedules. The apostle Paul encourages believers to make the most of every opportunity, as seen in Ephesians, where he writes about redeeming the time. Similarly, Titus and Jude urge believers to be zealous for good works and to keep themselves in God's love, while Galatians reminds us that our lives are now lived by faith in Jesus, guiding our use of time.

What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that? So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.
They profess to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed.

So Jesus asked the Twelve, “Do you want to leave too?” Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God. ” Jesus answered them, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” He was speaking about Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. For although Judas was one of the Twelve, he was later to betray Jesus.
Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
It was the first day of the week, and that very evening, while the disciples were together with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them. “Peace be with you!” He said to them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership can righteousness have with wickedness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
