Internal Purity

1 sermons

Internal purity is a profound theme woven throughout Scripture, emphasizing the importance of the heart's condition in relation to one's relationship with God. In Matthew 5:8, Jesus declares, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God," highlighting that true purity begins within and manifests outwardly in our actions and attitudes. The Apostle Paul further elaborates on this concept in 2 Corinthians 7:1, urging believers to cleanse themselves from every defilement of body and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. This call to internal purity aligns with the teachings found in Psalms 51:10, where David pleads, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me," underscoring the necessity of divine intervention in achieving true purity. Additionally, in 1 Timothy 1:5, Paul states that the aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith, indicating that internal purity is foundational for genuine love and service. Ultimately, the pursuit of internal purity is not merely a personal endeavor but a reflection of our commitment to God, as seen in James 4:8, which calls us to draw near to God, assuring us that He will draw near to us, purifying our hearts in the process.
