Grateful Service

1 sermons

Grateful service is a profound expression of our faith, reflecting the heart of a believer who recognizes the grace and mercy bestowed upon them by God. In Psalms 134, we are encouraged to bless the Lord and serve Him with joy, emphasizing the importance of gratitude in our worship and daily lives. The Apostle Paul echoes this sentiment in Colossians 3:23-24, where he instructs believers to work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that it is from the Lord that they will receive their inheritance. This underscores the idea that our service should stem from a place of thankfulness for what Christ has accomplished for us. Furthermore, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 reminds us to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus. Such gratitude fuels our motivation to serve others, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 20:28, stating that He came not to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. Ultimately, grateful service is not merely an obligation but a joyful response to the love we have received, as expressed in Ephesians 2:10, where we are called to be God's workmanship, created for good works.
