Jesus, the Author and Finisher of Our Faith
Mike Bickle

Mike Bickle (1955 - ). American evangelical pastor, author, and founder of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), born in Kansas City, Missouri. Converted at 15 after hearing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach at a 1970 Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference, he pastored several St. Louis churches before founding Kansas City Fellowship in 1982, later Metro Christian Fellowship. In 1999, he launched IHOPKC, pioneering 24/7 prayer and worship, growing to 2,500 staff and including a Bible college until its closure in 2024. Bickle authored books like Passion for Jesus (1994), emphasizing intimacy with God, eschatology, and Israel’s spiritual role. Associated with the Kansas City Prophets in the 1980s, he briefly aligned with John Wimber’s Vineyard movement until 1996. Married to Diane since 1973, they have two sons. His teachings, broadcast globally, focused on prayer and prophecy but faced criticism for controversial prophetic claims. In 2023, Bickle was dismissed from IHOPKC following allegations of misconduct, leading to his withdrawal from public ministry. His influence persists through archived sermons despite ongoing debates about his legacy

The thing that I'm really struck by is Jesus's leadership over us as a people. Now this you could say in any ministry, any movement of the body of Christ across the earth. But since this is the one I'm involved in, in a very particular day-to-day way, I think about it often. And I have greater understanding of Jesus, the master builder, the architect, who's leading in a very clear and precise way. I've been looking over things for now the last 32 plus years, since me and Diane came to Kansas City and we first met Bob Jones. And the more time that unfolds, and the more seasons that emerge that are part of our corporate history, the more clearly I see His masterful orchestration. Because as humans, our natural desire is for things just to get easy and better. And He does that sometimes, but what He's after is things being better in our heart encounter with Him, and who we are in our spiritual life. He wants things better in the natural, but He cares more that we're lining up more with His leadership, and His heart, and His value. So the Lord says, I am doing things and making them better. And the more distance I get from 32 years ago, the clearer I can see this. Well, let's read the verse that we're all so familiar with. Let us lay aside every weight and the sin that ensnares us. As believers, as on fire believers, we can get ensnared easily. I talked about avoiding the snare a couple weeks ago when I was talking about Luke 21. Let us run with endurance, endurance patience, not giving up. I mean, the number one temptation, I think, of everybody, the enemy, and just our natural humanity is to give up, not to press in. It doesn't mean give up our faith, but give up going for the fullness. Not to give up pressing in for everything God has ordained for us in our life, or in this season, or in our corporate destiny together. And it takes endurance to do that, because God's plan isn't one unbroken blessing after blessing after blessing. There's many blessings, but in the midst of blessings, there's obstacles, there's setbacks, there's challenges. And the writer of Hebrews said it so right. You need endurance. You need to not let go of the vision to be everything God said. And that's something that I have as much, by the grace of God, I have as much tenacity abound as I had 20 years ago, 40 years ago. I want to press into everything, no matter what it costs us, no matter the stigma, no matter the resistance. He's smiling and he says, keep going, keep going. I go, yes, Lord. This is our glory. This is our destiny. This is our safety to go after things with all of our heart together. I'm not looking for a safety zone. I'm not looking for a little, you know, no conflict zone to where we can kind of veg out for a while. I said, no, Lord, I want to go as hard as we can. I mean, I like it easy, trust me, but I'll take anything that comes under your leadership. And I want to go hard after it. Well, there's a race that's set before us. Now, this race is set before us individually, but it's also a part of our corporate life and history together. I've been on this particular race for 32 years, I mean, knowingly. And I plan to be on it for some many years to come. But it's a race that we're enduring. And it's obstacles, it's challenges, the seasons change. Because the Lord wants the north and the south winds to blow that the garden would be full. I mean, that's the language of Song of Solomon. We know, well, He wants the north and the south. He wants the increase, but He wants disciplines. His disciplines come. He wants blessing, but He wants pruning. He wants us to have joy, but He wants us to have sobriety. He wants us, our life to be blessed, but He wants us in agreement with His heart. That His Father would be glorified in us. Well, you know all that. I don't want to preach so much. I really want to tell a few stories, but I'm captured by this verse that Jesus is the author. He's the originator of the plan. The plan was born in His heart, not ours. He's the author, the originator. But He's the finisher. He's the source. He says, not only did I come up with the plan for your individual life and your salvation, or your corporate destiny. That's how I'm applying it right now in our corporate life together. I originated it, but I oversee it. I'm going to finish it. I'm the source. I'm going to give you the insight. I'm going to give you the right people. I'm going to give you the right gifting. I'm going to cause the right combination of blessing and challenge. I'm going to release my spirit. I'm going to release my finances. I'm going to do what I know in my leadership over you. I look at that, and He says, keep your eyes on Me. Don't get your eyes on the blessing, and don't get your eyes on the obstacle. Keep looking to Me. I'm the author. I've got a plan you don't fully grasp. Keep looking to Me. I have power. I have wisdom. Don't look at the challenges and go, oh no, the challenges say, oh yes, I have a dynamic relationship with the King who has all the resource to complete that which He began. Now we know the passage in Philippians 1.6, He that began a good work in you, He will bring it to completion. That's individual. That's corporate. Philippians 1.6, He that began a good work, He will bring it to pass. Keep your eyes on Me. In times of blessing, we sometimes get our eye on the blessing. Oh Lord, this is so amazing. The Lord says, well, don't get infatuated with the blessing. Sometimes in setback. Beloved, we're not in a real setback right now. I'm thinking of more what's coming in the next 10 years. I'm not talking about some economic cutbacks. This is a little setback, but that's not really what I'm talking about. I'm talking about what's coming in the next 10 or 20 years, far more than what's happening right now. But I want to keep our eyes on the Lord. It's glorious. His plan is amazing. It's worth it. It's worth it to go all the way. No matter what happens in the natural, it's worth it. Well, the thing I want to remind us of is what the Lord said to Bob Jones. When the very first time the Lord visited Bob Jones, and most of you, 90% of you know the name Bob Jones or 100% of you, the man that God used so dynamically in a prophetic way in our early days, you know, and he went to be with the Lord last year. But it was 40 years ago this week when the Lord visited him the first time about this movement. It was August 8th, 1975, and he was a relatively new believer, been in the Lord five or six years. He'd never had an encounter like this. What had happened in that encounter is that he had a death experience. And I'm going to show a video we showed a couple years ago, about seven or eight minutes, something like that, just to see Bob. And Chris, I like to hear it from his mouth, but I just love looking at Bob Jones. And so I just reviewed it today and went, aw, aw. And I feel like the Lord said, no, pay attention. The aw is good, but listen, listen, aw, aw. So Diane, you'll do some aw, you know, when you see him. I'll fill your heart over there. But it's what the Lord said. He had a death experience, 1975, this very week, 40 years ago. Then seven years later, this very week, which is 33 years ago, he had another very major encounter for, about this movement, about the IHOP youth movement of singers and musicians. Now he claimed to have had a hundred words from the Lord that, he said visions that, the sort of thing that he took very seriously. And I don't know that he ever counted them, but these were two of the major ones, two of the major ones. And the fact that we're at the 40 year history of this week, this very week, and the 33 year history, I thought it would be good just to pause and remember what the Lord said to us through that man who is now with the Lord. Well, what happened is that the day before, August 7th, Bob Jones was, the Spirit of the Lord came on him and told him to prophesy against abortion. And he said, yes, Lord. And abortion now had been going on in America for two years, legally. So it was a, because it knew on the frontier of the conversation of our culture, and said to rise up and prophesy against it. So he went to the, the court steps and independence Missouri, just went on the court and said, abortion is not of God. He just prophesied to the air. You know, but some people heard him as a crazy man or whatever. He just went out publicly and said it. And the Lord spoke to him at that time too, about homosexuality, and told him that those would be two of the major battles in the next generation. This is back 40 years ago. And now 40 years ago, boy, I get abortion at just two years had been legal. The issue of homosexuality was not on the horizon at all. When he first met me 32 years ago and told me that, I went, really? He goes, it will be as big of an issue as abortion. I go, really? He says, yes, it really will be. And it's coming in your day. You will see it. And it will be a great challenge that you must be faithful to the Lord in both of these challenges. Well, a demon appeared to him and said, if you prophesy according to these things, I will kill you. Bob says, I laughed at the demon. He said, I saw the demon. He'd seen demons several times over the years. That's a terrifying experience. But he said, I know my authority in the name of Jesus. You can't touch me. And that was on August 7th. The next day, he went and prophesied on the court steps and a few other places. I mean, it didn't have a crowd or anything. And suddenly this demon touched him. He didn't see the demon, but he became like deathly ill instantaneously while he was prophesying. And it began to hemorrhage and bleed and blood began to squirt out of his mouth. And they rushed him to the hospital and they couldn't figure out anything that was happening. And then he died nearly. You know, near-death experience. You don't quite know what happens in near-death experiences. Did you die? Did you almost die? I don't know. But he says, my spirit left. I looked at my body lying there with blood all over me. And I went like, Lord, how did that demon kill me? He goes, I was doing the will of God with authority, with understanding that I have your authority. He goes, and I went before the Lord and he goes, I couldn't grasp how this demon, how it worked. I mean, how he prevailed. And I stood before the Lord and the Lord, again, we'll give you a seven, eight minutes, six, seven minutes, whatever it is, a little snapshot of him telling the story. The Lord says, I want you to go back. I want you to go back because I'm going to raise up some young people in Kansas City. And he went on to describe it, singers and musicians. And I'm going to do something in Kansas City that's going to touch the whole world. And I want you in the early days of it, I want you to help establish the foundations of their values and their confidence in this calling from the very beginning. And he went on and told him here, I have in paragraph C, paragraph D, some of his own words, paragraph D here. And I've got quite a few transcriptions of word for word of where I interviewed Bob in the early eighties. I interviewed him many times in the platform up here. And then we transcribe them so I could always have it word for word. And those are so valuable, those transcriptions. He said, I'm going to raise up some young people. And then the Lord told him, he said, there's going to come a third world war. It's really going to happen. He goes, and I'm going to use this third world war and I'm going to wake up the body of Christ in the earth in this third world war. Because many in the body of Christ are living passively with compromise and they're not, they don't understand the hour that they live in. And I believe with all of my heart, a third world war is coming. And this will be such a serious hour. And my guess, this is not a prophecy. It's coming sooner than later. I believe that the situation in Iran, the nuclear deal is a catalytic moment that's going to speed up a third world war. And now most of us in this room have never been in a war. And so, uh, you know, we can only imagine, but I've, uh, done my, uh, probably more than my fair share of documentaries of, of world war two and world war one, because I believe they were snapshots of the, of the third world war. And they were, they gave us insight. And so I've done a, a quite a bit of research over the last 30 years on those two wars and war is terrible, terrible, terrible. It's horrible. A war is. And I've said over the years that Bob Jones has said, there's a third world war and people go, well, praise the Lord, you know, Lord will be with us. I think that's a serious statement. A third, do we grasp at all how that will affect the entire planet in a way that we're not grasping. And I think those days are not far off. I mean, it could be a decade or two down the road. It may not at all be this nuclear thing. I think is a catalytic thing. That's going to speed things up that I, I mean, I feel this real sense of growing sobriety that things are not going to be as they have been in the very near future in America and the earth. And the Lord told him, he says, I heard it with my, uh, my ears was face to face. The Lord said a billion new souls are coming into the kingdom. The great harvest is coming. And it's so like history in the Bible that the great harvest comes in conflict to great troubles and challenges because he says, I'm going to wake the church up. Much of the church is so focused on their lives in their own way. And I, I got to show them there's more that I've called them to than just fixated on their own life and way. I mean, that's me included, all of us. And the Lord says, uh, told him, he says, I'm sending you back because a great move of God is going to happen in Kansas City. It's going to touch the ends of the earth. And I want you to be a part of it. He goes, you're going to touch the first group of the very beginning of the leadership of this youth movement that's going to emerge. He talked about the anointing on prophetic singers and musicians that would come out of this movement. These are things Bob told me the very first, the very first time I met him. Told me all this stuff. I think he told me all 100 visions the first time I met him for about three hours. It was overwhelming everything he said to me. Then the Lord said, this would be a house of prophecy called the house of prayer. That's what it will be in the spirit. It will be a house of prophecy called the house of prayer. And Bob just kind of listened and kind of bit perplexed again, 40 years ago this week, paragraph one, Bob said, the Lord says, I'm going to send great finances to Kansas City. I believe there will be a supernatural supply of finance in the days to come. I don't mean just here in various parts of the earth. God has strategic purposes for his money, but I believe we're going to see strategic supernatural finances in this city. And again, that's going to happen in a number of places across the world. In many places it won't happen. The Lord told Bob there'd be famines that would be increased, droughts and famines and earthquakes and all kinds of disturbances in the weather, things like this. He told him back then 40 years ago that Kansas City would be a world shipping center. It would be a shipping center would emerge in this area that would affect commerce around the whole world. Right here in Kansas City. And again, Bob was a little perplexed by that. And some of you are familiar with the intermodal that's happening in Grandview. It's kind of been a slow, you can go to the internet and just look up the intermodal and it's in Grandview. It's a shipping distribution project. Five million square feet. And they're just getting it going now. They've been working on it since 2008, but it's been real slow the last seven or eight years. But this is the catalytic year where they're saying it's going to increase dramatically and it will be a shipping center where they will bring goods from Canada, from Mexico, from all the ports in America, East Coast, West Coast, and put them on railroads and make it one of the primary shipping centers of all of America. And therefore affecting all the world. And this is the year they're expecting it to really go forth. They're putting 250 million dollars in it right on the road about three, four miles. They expect 2,000 jobs to come to the area in the next year or two out of this because they're opening up the gate in a new way. Because it's been kind of on a slow burn, but now it's that they put a it's on the accelerator right now. But God told this to Bob Jones 40 years ago and this world-class shipping center is now emerging in Kansas City two miles, three miles down the road in Grandview right now. And most of you, most of you probably don't go south more than three miles. And you might not even know it, but you just could take a drive around and check out the internet and it might blow your mind. They're saying five million square feet above ground, eight million square feet below ground. One of the world-class shipping centers. And that it's operating now, but very slow, but it's really accelerating. Well there's the Lord told Bob that the Revival would break forth in the city, go forth like light, lightning fast. That the Revival would spread to the ends of the world as fast as lightning, as fast as light. Forty years ago. Well the, you know the story, but it's just good remembering it because there's an architect over this movement is the point. There's an architect over the whole body of Christ. Well when I take a step back and look at his skill and his predetermined plans that were said 40 years ago and they're unfolding line by line, I go, this is good. This is good. And it's not going to be an unbroken series of just increase, increase, increase. The Lord says I'm going to prune, discipline, refine, line you up with me. Bless, increase, prune, bless, increase. I'm a master builder. He's not a Santa Claus. We know that. He's a master builder. That the Father would be glorified by his work. Well it was a couple years ago. You know it. The story's an old story now, but the Google did a, opened up the application and a thousand cities applied to be the first Google city. They put a billion dollars in. They chose Kansas City. Of all a thousand cities they chose Kansas City. I tell you, and Google claims it's a hundred times faster than any internet out there. I don't know if that's part of the ad or whatever. I think it's, or it actually is, but it came here and it's not an accident. They announced the plans to put it in Grandview on May 7th, 2011. I mean 2013. They announced it on May 7th. Most of you know the significance. That's our, one of our anniversary dates with the Lord. If I could just use a, maybe a corny term, but on May 7th Google says it's coming to Grandview and it'll touch the ends of the earth. And the very first time I met Bob, the Bob, Bob told us, he said, they're going to be watching you on unplugged TV sets all over Asia and the rice paddies. And we know that through the cell phone and the smartphone and all that kind of stuff that, but in the rice paddies, that means the poor are going to be, I said, the rice paddies, he goes, that's what the Lord told me. And this whole Google thing and all this, the technology and what's happening in Asia and our connection. The Lord was telling this to Bob 40 years ago. Unplugged TV sets. All of these things that he said, light coming from Kansas City. You know, he says, you're going to move to Truman's, on Truman's property. You know, we're over in Overland Park for a couple of years ago to Truman's property in Grandview. He goes, yeah, because of God's zeal for Israel, he's going to prove to you and he's going to, he's going to show it as a sign and a wonder when he puts you there on Truman's property. And you know the story, but sometimes we forget the, these kind of landmark moments in our history. We've got more than, I mean, I go, Lord, more than we could ever have asked for of these critical moments marking, we think our destiny. I look at it different, marking his leadership over us. It's his leadership. He's onto something. He's the author. He's the originator of a master plan. He's the finisher. He has the power, the wisdom. He's got the skill to navigate it to where you end up godly and blessed and doing his will. And not once you get blessed, you get into a side conversation about your own life and ministry. So often when we get blessed, we end up on, in a cul-de-sac. We get a little blessing, then it's about our ministry product. It's about our conferences, our school, our music. We're blessed. There goes, no, don't get in a cul-de-sac. No, please stay focused. I want to bless you, but that's not what it's about, really. I mean, I love you, but I'm involving you in something. Look at paragraph E. Seven years later, August 8th again. I don't really understand the August 8th thing. One research team said, and I haven't verified it, but they were pretty adamant. They said it was on August 8th when Harry S. Truman established the United Nations, on August 8th. And he says, maybe it's about that. And Harry S. Truman was the man that said yes to Israel. I don't know. I need somebody to go look up all the August 8ths in history. I've never got around to doing that. You think 32 years later I would have, but somebody really smart, go do that, okay? Give it to me, then I can tell the story. But please verify it, please. Okay. Well, in paragraph F, this August 8th, 82, that's seven years after his initial one. But 32 years ago, I mean 33 years ago, so it's 40 years ago was the first one, and then this other big one is 33 years ago, of this very week. Just my heart is warmed remembering it. And again, I have affection towards Bob, but I go, Lord, these things, these signposts, these ways you intervened before any of us thought of any of this. You were going ahead of us, setting a storyline that could never be made up later, because the story was told openly many, many times before any of these things emerged. And there's no way they could be orchestrated by man. I remember when I first met Bob, he said, in that day, he goes, you'll be over in Grandview on Truman, next to Truman's property. He goes, they have unplugged TV sets in Asia watching singers and musicians. He goes, the abortion pill, they'll perfect abortion. They're going to have an abortion pill they sell over the counter. It's 32 years ago when I met him. I go, Bob, sir, I didn't really know him. I go, do you know what an abortion is? He goes, yeah. I go, you can't have an abortion with the pill. He goes, they will in that day. He goes, when those singers are going over in Grandview, you'll have one sold over the counter. He goes, the homosexuals are coming out of the closet. They'll be parading in the streets, supported by the governments of the earth. This is 32 years ago. So we're going to have unplugged TV sets in rice paddies, abortion pills, light going to the ends of the earth. We're going to be on Truman's property. Wow. Tense storyline. He goes, absolutely will come to pass. And there's so many parts of the story that are coming to pass. Well, in this 1982 time, the Lord showed Bob a white horse. And this is a parable. And I don't want to go into the details of this. I've done it a few times over the years. And we'll tell the story many more times in the years to come. And Bob was standing behind this white horse. And the white horse would speak of the early beginning formation of this youth movement, this singer musician youth movement. And the Lord says, I'm going to direct you. And I'm going to give them courage and strength through your prophetic words. And that's a big story. That's a glorious, big story. I mean, there's so many of those words. And I don't want to go off on that. That would take 20, 30 minutes. I'd get on it. Wouldn't be able to get off of that subject. But Bob says, I want, this is in 1982, six months before I met him. Bob says, I want you to look at them. He showed him a group of young people. He said, look at them real close. This is my favorite prophetic word ever. Bob, the Lord told Bob, he says, look at them. He goes, I want you to know. He says, I want you to know I love them. And he says, I'm going to be with them and I'm going to help them. I want you to look real close, Bob, because I love them. I want you to understand that. I want you to tell them that. And I look at what we're doing. Got some really amazing, sincere, godly, faithful people. Oh, I mean, some of the best people on the earth I know are sitting in this living room. I mean, this living room. I mean, there's so many amazing people, so dedicated. We're weak and broken. But the Lord says, I love them. You will see that even in their weakness, I will be there. You'll see. I'm going to bring this thing to pass. Beloved, I can't think of. I just want you to just take a moment right now. Just close your eyes and just tell the Lord, thank you. You're part of something. I mean, he loves the whole body of Christ. But Lord, he's doing something with broken people like you and me. And he's establishing it. And we're so easily distracted. He goes, I get all that. But Bob, tell them how much I love them. I want you to know that, Bob. Then he showed him Habakkuk chapter 3 verse 4. He says, look at this. And he showed these young people in the future. Now, Habakkuk chapter 3 verse 4 is about the Lord himself. But the Lord couldn't apply this to his people. But it's actually a prophecy about Jesus at the second coming. That lightning, fire and lightning came out of their hands. The Lord showed Bob, he said, the day is coming. He says, some of them will raise their hand. Bob told me this story many times. There'll be mass gatherings. And they'll just lift their hand and say, in the name of Jesus. And their hand will go across it. And he said, people without a kidney will instantly get a creative miracle of a kidney. A man without a limb, a limb would grow out instantly. And lightning would be seen like coming out of their hands. And I don't know that people will see it in the I don't know. I don't even care about that. But he said, that large numbers of people, they'll feel the power of it. And some will actually see the fire of God coming out of their hands. But this isn't about people psyching themselves up in ministry. And this isn't about making it happen. We'll never make things like that happen. You can't make it happen. There's no sense trying. It either is or it isn't. And if it is, beloved, we can lock in and with endurance and go hard after the Lord. Well, I want to take a few minutes and just show Bob Jones, just because I just want to. And I want my wife, Diane, to come up here. Because I just want you to emote for a moment afterwards. I want some of your aww, because I know you're going to feel it. OK, let's just show a short video on Bob Jones. A demon appeared to me and said, if you tell anybody that prophecy, I'll kill you. So on August 8th of 75, I had some calls over the phone that wanted me to give what I just got in that revelation about what would begin to take place from that time forward. So I spoke to him. And then I went to work with my son. I was doing tree service. And I got out in about 30 minutes. A pain hit me in the lower body. It was terrible. I mean, my lower body began to get as hard as rock from my waist down. And I asked my son to get me home. So he drove me home and they took me to the doctor. The doctor said, I've never really seen this before, but this is really critical. You better get him in the hospital right away. I said, no, I'm going to die. I'll die in my own bed. So he gave me some pain pills and went home. And I took one. It didn't stop the pain. That pain was horrible. I took a second one. It didn't stop the pain. I took a third one. And when I took the third one, no sooner got it down and blood began to shoot out of my mouth like a geyser. And I could see some of the pain pills had never dissolved. So I got a wet towel and wrapped it around my head. I think, man, this is serious. I went to a tunnel. And I looked out of the tunnel and it was beautiful light on down the road. And I looked to my side and there was a man dressed in white. And I've never seen his face. But he was there and he was walking beside me. And I'm thinking, huh, I think I'm dead. And my second thought was, I've come out of deep sin. I wonder if my robe's clean. And the man spoke to me and said, you can see now, Bob, look. I looked and my robe didn't have any spots on it. So we walked to where that beautiful white light was. There was white light and white light. And that which in the center had the shape of a man in it was the most beautiful of all white light. It is all white light. And he had his arms out and he was greeting people. And I stepped out of that cave and all of a sudden there was light that just surrounded me all around me. And I felt the best that I'd ever felt in my life. And I asked the man in white light, what is this? He said, it's the glory of God. And I said, oh, that's so wonderful. I feel so loved. I feel so content. And he said, yeah, it's the love of God. I said, how can it be both? The glory of love. Well, it's John 17. And it's like I was wrapped up in a cocoon of the anointing. And I felt so, if you'd multiply all the good feelings I'd ever had on earth a thousand times, you still wouldn't touch it. So I started walking on closer to that great white light. And in the center of that white light, the man, the only thing that wasn't white was his eyes. And they were total blue. And they were like two wells. You couldn't see the bottom of them. But it was like two wells with light in them, but you could never see the bottom. He said, I don't want you going back for one soul. I want you going back for 1 billion youth. And I want you to go back and touch the leaders because I'm going to honor myself in one of the greatest awakenings of all time. There'll be over 6 billion people on the earth at the time I'm speaking of, which is now. And I'm going to bring youth in from every place without number. And they're going to need leaders to bring them in. And I said, I'll go back for that. I mean, looking at that line was one of the most horrible things I've ever seen. And so all of a sudden I was back and I was looking down at my body. And that bloody towel was still around my face. And I looked and there was two huge angels that were covering me like they do the ark. Wings literally were totally covering me. It began in 82, even before that. And I was in the church and I told the pastor, I'll be with you for a short time. But there's a group of young people that's coming that God is going to use in a big way. And they'll be literally with them, the house of the watchful and the wise will be formed. And their main calling will be praise and intercession. And when they come, I'll leave and go to them. All I could see was a bunch of young people and a white horse. And the white horse ministry was coming and it just didn't make any sense. But the visions kept coming in the 83 February. And a friend of mine in Kansas City said, Bob, there's some young people you need to meet. They come from St. Louis. And I'd been told the word Louis, which means they're like a spear prayer warrior. On March the 7th of 83, I went over to meet with them, Mike Bicklin, some of them. The Lord had told me to wear a coat, a heavy one. It would be a sign that there'd be a double winner that year. And it would start on the first day of spring. And so I went over and I saw Mike Bicklin. And I told him several things that I'd been shown about him. And I was told that they had a major calling. One of them was intercession 24-7, but also praise, which was the tabernacle of David. And that the flaps would be up to where the whole world would see the glory. Amen. That's a real long video, but they just grabbed a little bit of it. So sweetheart, what do you think? We love that man. Yeah, totally. Totally. And, you know, Bob taught us a lot of things. You couldn't come into Bob's presence without knowing one thing for sure, and that was that he was a lover. He loved Jesus. And he loved the word of God. He treasured the word. Anybody that has a beat up, tattered Bible, I just like love that person without ever even having a conversation with them. Bob was hours a day in the word. He loved the word, quoted the word. He encouraged us with the word. And he loved people so well. His whole life was just poured out for people. And in our ministry, he just poured himself out till there was nothing left and was always giving and always offering fatherly advice and prayers and wanting to minister to people that, you know, were hurting in their bodies or there was emotional issues in their lives. He was just an amazing role model for us to pattern our lives after and to live up to. And I couldn't even keep up with him. And I was so much younger than him. But the stamina that he had to follow the Lord and to obey the Lord, you know, hour upon hour upon hour of ministering to people was absolutely remarkable. So just real quick, how did you feel as these these bizarre big words were unfolding and they were getting confirmed because they kept events kept happening that confirmed them? I think I'm more in awe. Yeah, I was too young to fully understand the implications of what was being said. And, you know, it was just like a whirlwind of prophetic revelation and insight and things that were happening and things that were to come. And so it was just like every day was so exciting, like wanting to know what was going to be the next thing that the Lord was doing. And I think it's only in just looking back at it all that I have this profound awe and gratitude to the Lord for putting Bob in our midst and just for, you know, the activity that the Lord has engaged us with through the years. I think I'm more in awe of it today than I was back when it was being declared to me. Thirty two years later, you look back. I mean, this stuff, he really said this. He said this. Many of the things I'm saying, he said them openly for everyone to hear. And he was mocked by many people. Many people said he's a crazy guy. His job was a, what was his job? Tree trimmer. Tree trimmer. Yeah. I was going to say a tree sprayer, but a tree trimmer. Yes. He was a little eccentric in some ways. You can probably see that on the video and had some peculiarities, however you say that word, like you and I do. But I mean, they were, you know, they were just out there. But he said stuff and nobody really believed it. It was just like on TV sets in Asia. And what are you talking about? It was that it really happened. But the truth is he was he was simple, simply profound. And looking back at it, it all makes sense. You know, like as we look back at the story of our lives that the Lord is writing for each one of us, it makes a lot more sense looking back sometimes than it does in the moment. Thank you, sweetheart. I want you to turn to the back of page two, very end, paragraph D at the back. You know, when we're in the Lord's purpose, the reason we need endurance, and again, everybody needs endurance. It's not something that's unique to us, and it's certainly not unique to this hour. We're going to need a lot more of it in the days to come. But one of the big challenges is economics. And economic challenges are coming. And I think that we're learning to know the Lord even now in the realm of economics. But look what it says in paragraph D, Haggai chapter 2. The Lord says, I'm going to shake all the nations. And a third world war is surely coming. There's no question about that. I will shake all the nations, and the people will come to me. The people are going to come to Jesus as the one who is desirable. They will come to Jesus as the one that's seen as the desire of all the nations. And I'm going to fill the temple with the glory of God. But look at this, verse 8. When the Lord does this shaking, He's going to manifest His leadership and ownership of the gold and silver and the earth. The gold and the silver is His. But right now, many in the nations can't see His leadership over it. He says, when I shake the nations, I'm going to show my ownership of the gold. I'm going to create supernatural wealth. There's going to be transfer of wealth. There's going to be provision. There'll still be needs. But there's going to be a supernatural realm that we're talking about creative miracles and tremendous healings. But there's going to be as many miracles in the realm of finance as there is in the people getting saved. That's the ultimate miracle, or their body being healed. You know, I was talking to some folks just the last few months. I'm going to have Marcy and Daniel get ready to come on up. But I was talking to some folks the other day, and I said, you know, our annual budget was $20 million a year for 2, 3, 4 years, some number like that. I don't know. And then for a couple of years, it spiked up to $25 million. And I said, now it's the landscape, the economic landscape. You guys get your mic, get ready. The economic landscape in America is such that there's tremendous economic pressures everywhere, everywhere. And so, we have gone from $25 million a year to $20 million a year. And as Jono said on the video, that's about a $200,000 a month we've got to draw back on. Because when we got to 25, we spent it, but we mostly spent it on people. We mostly put it into people. If I could do it over again, which in the day we were spending it on people, I was voting 100% yes. If I could do it over again 2, 3, 4 years ago, I would have said, again, I didn't say, but I'd say, hey, we're in a spike, we're in an increase of $20 million we had for several years, $25. Maybe because the whole nation is being tried and tested economically, it's not going to stay at $25. But we invested it in the people and the outreaches and the programs, and now we dropped to $20. But here's the point I want to make. I've talked to some, and I mean, some friends have come to visit me and different ones, they go, man, it's really tough. I go, well, not really, not really. I go, yeah, yeah, cutting back $200,000 and some lives are touched by that, yeah, that's real. But I said, I'm not losing sight of something different than that. I go, do you know how many ministries in human history have had $20 million a year? Probably less than 1%, probably a fraction of 1% of all of history. And I go, and that's our trial? We're at $20 million, we're in the top of 1% of human history of the body of Christ, and that's our trial? I don't think so. I said, I don't like cutting back, but I am so grateful. And I see changes, but I don't lose sight. He's giving us $20 million a year. Lord, what could we have ever done to deserve that? And the answer is nothing. And so I'm grateful. When I look at the future, yeah, I don't like this cutback, I don't like it. And again, it affects some people, and I don't like that at all. That's real and that's personal. But I'm not looking back and going, oh no, the Lord says, no, there's a whole big shaking coming down the road. And I want you to know I've proven myself. I've proven myself true to you over and over again. Let's look at paragraph E for a moment. I'm going to have our two guys get down here. I think it was Matt and Dave with microphones. You guys need to get these mics? Hey, you're a good interviewer. I was back there. I go, this guy's a good interviewer. We need to use you more to do that. But here, look at paragraph E. These are some of the highlights. I'm going to give you just 20 seconds. I remember December 2000. Where's Nick at? I just saw Nick a second ago. Anyway, wherever he is. We got to check in the mail because we wanted to move from the trailers. We're trying to figure out a way to make that happen. And we found the Red Bridge Center. You got to check in the mail from a guy we've never met. $750,000. You know, our big month was like $20,000 total, I think. Lord, what's this about? Well, we find the Red Bridge Center, a beat-up shopping mall. We got it. Then next door, the apartment guy who owned the apartments next door thought we had a lot of money. Hey, if you just bought this, $750,000. He says, hey, you want to buy my apartments? No, we really don't. Trust me. We got a little family bank who gave us a loan because our ministry resume, so to speak, didn't deserve getting a big loan. But we gave them $750,000, so they gave us a loan. So the apartment guy goes, hey, you want to do it again? We call the bank. The bank says, well, if you give us $700,000 again, sure, we'll give you a loan for the apartment. So they go, well, that's not going to happen. The next morning, I got an email. The next morning, the Lord told me to make $700,000 available for you. Do you want it? The next morning. Call the banker. Hey, we changed our mind. Yeah, we'll give you the $700,000. Well, what happened between yesterday and today? Well, you know, things, Lord blessed. Wait. Yesterday, you did not have $700,000. Today, you did. Are you into drugs? Give it to us straight. No, no, we're in. A couple of years later, a man came and visited us, gave us a $700,000 check. We're in a real time of need. Here I have December 31st. A man from Hong Kong just hands it to us. It was such a critical moment there. Remember that, Daniel? That was so like, oh, yes, yes, yes, yes. Then somebody comes and knocks on the door and says, hey, we'll give you the Truman property for a million. The man I'm sitting next to wills, I'll give you the million. I got it in my bank account. Like, will you give us a million? He goes, yeah. He goes, I got it in my bank, right? I'll give it to you tomorrow. So we bought Truman property. Some time passes. Man visits me and says, hey, when are you going to do your Bible school? I go, well, our Bible school is here, but we're jammed. I don't know. I go, we looked at another ugly little shopping mall like the Redbridge Center over Grandview Plaza, and I go, I don't know. I don't think so. It's really beat up. He goes, how much does it cost? I go, well, we just found out $3.3 million. He went, ugh. I go, no, that's a good price. No, he goes, no, because the Lord told him that morning, him and his wife, to give us $3.3 million. And he goes, oh, that's confirmation. Because he was hesitating, but the Lord told the wife when they were driving up to visit us. $2 million the next time, $600,000. I mean, just the other day. I mean, we're really in a, because we're in this dropping our $200,000 a month because of the, you know, $25 million. Now we're getting $20 million a year, so that's $200,000 a month. So we're in that process. It takes a number of months to make that work. So we're really in a challenge to pay our payroll. And a lady from California doesn't know us. I don't know her. I think she's come one time, writes a check, $450,000, about two, three weeks ago, whatever it was. We make our payments now for the next few months. You know, it's like, oh, Lord, five till 12. I said, is there any way we could inch it up to 10 till 12? 10 minutes till midnight. I mean, 10 minutes till midnight's better than five minutes till midnight. And the Lord says, when have I not been there over and over? Look at your history. When have I not proven I'm paying attention? Well, Lord, we're down $200,000. These are my words now. You're still in the top 1% of the body of Christ in history that has had money given to a local ministry. Say thank you. Say thank you to me. I'm blessing people all around, and I've got a way. And anyway, I've never been more encouraged, honestly. I've never been more resolute than I feel right now. Never been more aware that we're in this pathway of his leadership. But we need endurance, because the next 10 years is going to be a challenge for the whole earth. And the Lord's saying, I'm letting you out. Work that muscle right now. Work that muscle. Come into unity with me. Don't get your eyes on the challenge. Keep your eye on me. Amen.
