Sermon Transcription
Thank you for joining me. My name is Edgar Reich and I am called by the will of God for revival. The message is a cry for repentance and revival. The cry is from the Lord because in Joel chapter 2 verse 12 he says, Now therefore says the Lord, turn to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. On January 20, 2017, Donald Trump was inaugurated as the new president of the USA. Michael Snyder wrote on January 22, 2017, concerning the inauguration. He said, When Vice President Mike Pence was born in, he had in his hand the same Bible and on the same Bible verse that Ronald Reagan did when he was inaugurated. That verse was 2 Chronicles chapter 7 verse 14. And the verse immediately before that one talks about God withholding reign because of the wickedness of the people. Is that an absolutely amazing coincidence or what? This is what 2 Chronicles chapter 7 verses 13 and 14 say in the modern English version. When I shut up the heaven and there is no rain, or when I command the locusts to devour the land or send pestilence on my people, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Right after Vice President Pence was sworn in with his hand on these verses, Donald Trump stepped onto the platform to be inaugurated and the rain started to fall. When Reverend Franklin Graham came to the platform later on to deliver his portion of the benediction, it was perhaps the most electrifying moment of the entire event before reading the passage of scripture that he had chosen. This is what Graham told the crowd. Mr. President, in the Bible, rain is a sign of God's blessing and it started to rain. Mr. President, when you came to the platform, it's my prayer that God will bless you, your family, your administration, and may he bless America. Subsequently, a pastor friend of mine, Pastor Dan Beiser, wrote concerning the government change and that it is an opportunity for the church he then quoted from the Bible, Ezra chapter 9, verse 8, where it says, now for a little space, grace has been showed from the Lord our God to leave us a remnant to escape and to give us a nail in his holy place that our God may lighten our eyes and give us a little reviving in our bondage. He also quoted Revelation chapter 2, verse 21, and I gave her space to repent of her fornication and she repented not. Over the years, all of the evil factors that were in place before elections continued after the elections. We did not get better, but we became more vile and wicked. We did not gain ground, but lost it. What will happen after this election? Your and my part is to recover the ground we have lost. Political change does not equal spiritual change. God requires spiritual change and doing his will and not just words. The promise of revival, of restoration given by God in 2 Chronicles 7, 14 is conditional. It says, if, note if, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from wicked ways, then God will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. It is a conditional promise. Putting our hands on this verse is not enough. God will do his part if we do our part. We must do. Let us look closer at the four steps required by God. And the first step is humbling ourselves and it includes repentance and acknowledging where we have failed. Humbleness is the opposite to being proud. And God had warned the nation of Israel in the past and he warns all of the nations in the world. And this verse is found in Ezekiel chapter 14, verse 13. And there God said, son of man, when a land sins against me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out my hand against it. I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it and cut off man and beast from it. Now, throughout the Old Testament of the Bible, we find that many people turn from wicked ways and they turn to God. And here in 2 Kings chapter 22, verse 19, God had such an occasion. And he said, because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before the Lord. When you heard, when I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse. And you tore your clothes and wept before me. I also have heard you, says the Lord. In another passage, a prophet by the name of Ezra, he said, oh my God, I'm too ashamed or humiliated to lift up my face to you. My God, for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads and our guilt has grown up to the heavens. In Luke chapter 18, verses 13 to 15, Jesus Christ, the son of God, talks about a tax collector who stood far off and he would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but he beat his breast saying, God, God, be merciful to me. I'm a sinner. I tell you, Jesus said, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted. If we say we are humble, is there any proof? When is the last time you have wept for the sins of yourself and our nation? In the Beatitudes, Jesus said, blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted. The mourning here relates to sin and mourning includes tears. If you're a Christian leader, do you follow Christ's instructions? In Matthew chapter 20, verses 25 and 26, it says, but Jesus called them to himself and said, you know that the rulers of the Gentiles lorded over them. That means people take charge. People tell you what to do. People are unbending their heart and their will. And now Jesus went on and he said, and those are great exercise in authority of them. So he's talking about the world here and now he's talking about Christians and his disciples. And he said to them, yet it shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. Are there those who will serve rather than be served? Do you require to be recognized? Do you have armor bearers? Would you say to your armor bearers, son, you have carried my Bible for me and serve me well. Could I do the same for you the next couple of months? Jesus tells me to be a servant. In John chapter 13, verse 14, the son of God said, if I then your Lord and teacher have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. Are there any servants left who wash feet? In Numbers chapter 12, verse three, one of the greatest leaders that ever lived was Moses. And this verse says, now the man Moses was very humble more than all men who were on the face of the earth. Moses depended on God when he was opposed by 250 leaders under the leading of Korah, he humbled himself. He cried out and he said, follow God, believe in God, do what God says. And he threw himself on the ground in the dust in front of Korah and 250 people, he humbled himself. On another occasion, he went before God and when that golden calf was made by his own people, God said, I'm gonna destroy them. I'm gonna start new with you, Moses. And Moses said, no, no, no, God, what will the unbelievers say? You brought us out of Egypt, now you wanna destroy us all? No, Lord, no, Lord, I give my life for them. I'll give my life for them. Mother Teresa had to form feet, a fellow worker of hers explained when asked by a newspaper person. Every year we receive 100 or so pair of shoes for all the workers. Mother Teresa insisted that all workers pick their shoes first. She would always keep the last pair regardless of size. Often she had shoes too small, which deformed her feet. Pastor Wernbrandt was incarcerated in Romania and he was tortured for Christ. He had 18 deep torture wounds from the communists. His feet were broken many times and flesh removed to the bone. When he came to speak to a congregation in Toronto, Canada at People's Church, he said, brothers and sisters asked me to speak evil about the communists. I cannot, I cannot. You see, I am at fault. The whole audience gasped, how could he be possibly at fault? And then he said, you see, I did not love them enough. I did not love them enough. Are we humble? Are we willing to walk on deformed feet for Christ and our fellow man? Are we willing to have a scorned body for letting the truth of God shine through us? The question is, are you and I willing to pay the price of humility when we humble ourselves before God and men? And then God gave the second requirement in 2 Chronicles 7, 14. It isn't good enough to just put your hand on the word of God. It must be doing on our part. So the second requirement by the Lord is prayer. And the question is, will our prayer touch God's heart? I'd quoted before Joel 2, verse 12. And there the Lord had said, now therefore says the Lord, turn to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. I talked about Moses before praying and pleading for his people. And here in Exodus chapter 32, verses 31 and 32, it tells us so. That Moses returned to the Lord and said, oh, these people have committed a great sin and have made for themselves a God of gold. Yet now, if you will forgive their sin, but if not, I pray, block me out of your book, which you have written. And King David offered his life that God would stop the angel who was killing people. In 2 Samuel chapter 24, verse 17, it tells us then David spoke to the Lord when he saw the angel who was striking the people and said, surely I have sinned and I have done wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? Let your hand, I pray, be against me and against my father's house. In other words, Lord, let your judgment fall on me for my people. I am the chief of sinners. Lord, Lord, I give my life for my neighbor. I give my life for my family. I give my life for the unbelieving. I give my life for those that oppose me. I give my life for my enemy. The prophet Ezra was a good man, yet he prayed in Ezra chapter 10, verse one. Now while Ezra was praying and while he was confessing, weeping and bowing down before the house of God, a very large assembly of men, women and children gathered to him and Israel and the people wept bitterly. In Nehemiah, it says that Nehemiah was called to rebuild Jerusalem. It said in Nehemiah chapter one, verse four. So it was when I heard these words that I sat down and wept and mourned for many days. I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven. When we pray, are we appealing to God in a way that his heart is moved? Are we weeping for ourselves and for others? Do we weep for our enemies who do not know the Lord and are headed for hell? Do we fear God with the God we fear even as Jesus did? And in Hebrews five, chapter seven, it tells us what happened to Jesus. And it says, who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with vehement cries and tears to him, who was able to save him from death and was heard because of his godly fear. So even the son of God acknowledged God the father. Now between Canada and the United States of America, there are 370 million people. Only about 20% attend church, which includes faith that do not believe in the Bible. If we assume that a little less than 20% will make it to heaven, then there are 300 million on their way to hell. Oh Lord, oh Lord. Are we telling the truth? Are we sharing our faith? Lord, have mercy. Lord, send revival. Lord, wake us up for the sake of our sisters and brothers, for the sake of our neighbor, for the sake of family members. People say to me, I don't need to fear God. Well, Jesus did in the garden. You say you have perfect love and that's why you need not fear God. Show me your perfect love. Lay it down for your neighbor. Lay it down for your enemy. Forgive those that have hurt you. Do what the Bible says. God reminds us and he says that he loves us. He says he has no pleasure in the death of the wicked. So turn, turn from your wicked ways. The question is, are we willing to pay the price of prayer? In days past, there was a group called the Moravians and they prayed on a rotating basis, every hour, every day, every month, every year for over a hundred years. And God used them mightily. Why should God listen to us if you don't even pray? I have a revival prayer call on Monday nights where we pray. Often there are thousands of people who know about this call and we get 10, perhaps, on the call to pray. You're not willing to pay the price for revival, but perhaps God will draw your heart because prayer changes things. The third requirement by the Lord is to seek his face. And in Psalm 24, verses three and four, it tells us part of that requirement where the Psalmist asks, who may ascend into the hill of the Lord or who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. And in Isaiah chapter six, verses three to five, Isaiah, the prophet was called to heaven. And there he observed some beings in heaven. And one cried to the other and said, holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the doors were shaken by the voice of him who cried out. And the house was filled with smoke. So I said, woe is to me for I am undone because I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips. For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts, the Lord God. And Psalm 53, two says, God looks down from heaven upon the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. Matthew 6, 33 says, but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you. Psalm 37, four says, delight yourself also in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart. And so the promise from God is in Deuteronomy 4, 29. And there it says, but from there, you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. God's character is holy and just. He's pure. God cannot tolerate sin. Therefore, his presence produces a terrifying fear when we are in sin, when we harbor sin or we hide unconfessed sin. The blazing light of God's holiness illuminates our life and impurities. So how can I draw close to God? Start with repentance. First John 1, 9 says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And so that is prayer. Read your Bible. That draws you close to God. Be obedient to the words of the Bible. That draws you close to God. Be led by the spirit of God. And it tells us in the Bible that we should be led by the spirit of God. That draws you close to him. It also says walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. So walk in the spirit of God. Be led by him. And then it also says to live in his spirit. You will be guided by God. He will draw you close to him. Draw near to God in trust and in faith. Are you willing to draw near to God? It costs. Are you willing to pay that price? The fourth requirement from the Lord is turning from our wicked ways. So what are wicked ways of Christians? Well, we are experts in rationalizing and we are experts in seeking our own way. And there are many, many different rationalizations that we go through to avoid God's commands. So what latitude of freedoms from God and Jesus do we permit ourselves in our daily lives? You know, they were, of course, the Ten Commandments. And yet when Jesus came, he said, if you love me, keep my commandments. He said so in John chapter 14, verse 15. And often Jesus' commandments exceed the requirements of the Old Testament. He says, if you look with lust, you have committed adultery. When thinking about sin, we have committed the sin. Psalm 19 speaks of presumptuous sin. And there it says in Psalm 19, verse 13, keep back your servant also from presumptuous sin. Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression. Presumptuous sins are brazen sins overstepping known boundaries, such as murder, sexual sins, stealing, lying, cursing, and so on. Sins that are committed in direct violation of the Ten Commandments. Then there are sins we commit unknowingly and in Leviticus chapter five, verse one, it gives us an example where we might realize, where we might not realize that it's a sin and we ought to do something about it. And here it says in Leviticus chapter five, verse one, if a person sins in hearing the utterance of an oath and is a witness, whether he has seen or known of the matter, if he does not tell it, he bears guilt. Then there are sins that so easily beset us. They include addictions, they include drugs, gambling, drinking, sexual addictions, destroying our bodies and bad habits we cannot shed. There are other classes of sins, such as secret sins, hidden sins, sins from wrong assumptions, sins of the body, sins of the mind, sins of the tongue, and finally, the unpardonable sin. Here are some examples of wicked sins from the various classes of sins. And yes, beloved Christians, they also affect us. Here is the wicked way of losing my first love for the Lord Jesus Christ. When we first got saved, we could not stop reading the Bible. We could not stop praying. We could not wait to get together with other believers. We could not wait to tell others about Jesus. Jesus said, do three things. Repent, remember, redo the things you did at first. There's a wicked way of unbelief. In Hebrews 11, verse five, verse six, it says, but without faith, it is impossible to please him. For he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Scripture says God cannot lie. So why are we not trusting him? When God set free the Israelites, and this is described in the Bible in the Old Testament, he set them free from slavery in Egypt. There were 600,000 men who left Egypt, plus women, plus children. And when they came to the promised land, they decided not to enter. They were afraid. They did not believe God. They turned to go back. And beloved, God caused all 600,000, except two men, Joshua and Caleb, to die over 40 years in that desert. Are you dying in the desert today because of unbelief? Because you're not trusting God and his son, Jesus Christ, who is our mediator, who is our lawyer, defending us with God and the Father? Then there is the wicked way of denying God's power. And in Jeremiah chapter 17, verse five, it says, cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. We deny God's power through our outer man, through unbelief, through pride. We think we can do it. Let me do it. God, move aside. Make room for me. I'm gonna do it. There's selfishness. They're seeking wealth. And most of all, we don't surrender to his son, Jesus. The Christian seeking a deeper life with Christ will ask Jesus to break him while surrendering to him. Jesus will then break the outer man and shine forth through us. And people will see the inner man, the born again in me, the heavenly man, the one that has love, joy, and peace. Praise God. The unbeliever who rejects the salvation by Jesus will continue under the wrath of God. And you will have to pay the penalty unless, unless, unless you turn to the son of God. Then there's the wicked way of not asking Jesus to live in me and to provide his victory over sin in me. In first Corinthians chapter 15, verse 57, it says, but thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. In first John 5, 4, it says, for whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith. And our faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ. We must believe that he has died for us on the cross to forgive us our sins. And then he rose again. And after he rose, he's also able for us to follow him. And then he has the power to not only set us free from the penalty of sin, but he also has the power to set us free from the bondages of sin. Let me give you an example of that. Recently, my main computer was infected by a very vicious virus. And one of my daughters came and she worked very hard. I worked very hard for a day. I could not remove the viruses. Six major programs could not remove the viruses. And finally, we had to nuke a part of that computer system the last two weeks or so to also remove that virus. And the question is, why didn't the computer do it? Why didn't the computer help himself? The computer could not. He could not remove that virus. And so it is with man. So it is with people. We cannot remove that virus of addiction, that virus of sin from us. It can only be removed through the Lord Jesus Christ. And that takes full surrender on our part. Then there's this wicked way of not totally surrendering to Jesus in Galatians 2, verse 20. It says, I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. There is a wicked way also of denying Christ and not surrendering to him fully. Then there's a wicked way of denying the Holy Spirit to help me to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and share my testimony. I need the power of the Holy Spirit because in Acts 1, 8, it says, but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth. The Holy Spirit won't force you to witness, but as we deny his power and we say, we try, we end up not doing it because we don't have the strength. We fail, we give up. So we must return to God. We must ask him to fill us anew with his Holy Spirit to help us because we need higher help. And so when we fail in sharing our faith, we must not give up. You see, 80% of all Christians in North America have never shared their faith. Only about two or 3% share their faith now. And sheep beget sheep. True Christianity is dying because Christians do not share their true faith. It is a great sin on our part to keep the gospel of eternal life for ourselves. Many of our family, friends, acquaintances and neighbors must go to an eternal doom because of our denying the Holy Spirit power to help us to witness. It is wicked. It is wicked. And God reminded us in the Old Testament and he said, their blood will I require from your hand if you don't tell them. We decide that we can't do it. We say, I'm doing my best, God. My best is based on my flesh and not on his power and the power of his Holy Spirit. God, poor little me, I can't do it. I'm afraid. I'm afraid of what people will think of me. I can't do it. Yes, you can. Go to God. And in Luke, God said, how much more will the heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask? He said, I'll give you my power to do that, but you cannot do yourself. There's a wicked way of being dead in church with no fruit. And Luke chapter 13, verse 9 says, and if it bears fruit, well, but if not, after that, you can cut it down. In John 15, verse 2, every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he takes away. And every branch that bears fruit, he prunes that it may bear more fruit. And then there's a wicked way of being lukewarm. About 12 Christians were worshiping in a small church in Russia in the middle of winter. There was a knock and a bang on the door of that little church in deep snow. It burst open. Two soldiers stood there with machine guns ready. And they said, you cannot worship God. We don't want you to worship God. Come out right now or we will shoot you. About half of the people got up and walked out of that door. The others remained in the church. The two soldiers came into the church and closed the door. Then they walked up to the middle of the aisle. And in the front, they laid down their machine guns onto the floor and in front of the altar. And they said to the remaining six Christians, please forgive us for scaring you. Please forgive us. But we wanted to worship only with real Christians today. There's a wicked way of not loving. Matthew 22, verse 37 says, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. He demands our first love. Can you check your time and see how much time you spend with God in prayer, going to church, reading your Bible? Then compare that with internet time. Compare that with television time. Compare that with sports. Compare that with other functions that you take part of. What is important to you? The wicked way of not loving our neighbors. And in Matthew chapter 22, verse 39, it says, and the second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The Lord allowed me to speak in a church where just about a couple of hundred yards away from the church, there was a drug compound with a drug lord. And so after we talked about sharing our faith, I volunteered to go and see that drug lord. And two of the people came with me. And one sister, she whispered into my ear, and she said, I'm afraid. And I said, sister, don't be afraid. We have a mighty, incredible God. And so we went and shared with that drug lord. I shared Christ with him. He listened for about four minutes. And then he got mad at me. And he said, I don't want to listen to you anymore. Go. And then he said, don't go away yet. Talk to all of my men. And so all of the men that were distributing drugs, and that was a miracle, beloved. He said, go and talk to my man. And we did. And we shared. Then there's a wicked way of not loving your enemies. In Matthew 544, it says, but I say to you, love your enemies. Bless those who curse you. Do good to those who hate you. And pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. You say, well, you do that? Well, that's wonderful. May I ask you, would you tell me, what good do you do to your enemies? I will believe that you have forgiven them and that you love them when you do good to them. Then there's the wicked ways of loving money and wealth more than the Lord. First Timothy 610 says, for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some are strayed from the faith in their greediness and pierce themselves through with many sorrows. There's a love of possessions that has deceived the Western world to become debtors to credit companies, to banks and other lenders. Many have become slaves to such organizations while having two or three jobs to pay their bills. Parents decided to pursue cars, homes and TVs. In turn, their children grew up by themselves. They were neglected. They grew up without their parents. Many children are now suicidal, cutting themselves without any hope. Would you cry out to God to show you the truth of the scriptures? Would you cry out to God with me? Say, there's so many more wicked ways that I have here. I don't want to go on, but I will share with you because there are wicked ways of going to church and expecting God to be Santa Claus and looking for handouts. We don't want to go to church for holiness. We don't want to go to church to become a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. Then there's a wicked way of wrong doctrines. In the Western world, thousands of Christian splinters groups have formed. Some of them have false doctrine. There's the prosperity gospel. The principle is for its leaders and members to get as much money and possessions as they can. But money does not give happiness. Greed and covetousness brings death. Another new doctrine is Chrislam, combining the worship of Islam mixed with Christianity. Does the God of Islam acknowledge Christ as the son of God, saying and calling from heaven, this is my beloved son in whom I'm well pleased. Hear him, hear Jesus who says, I'm the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the father except by me. Can those two gods be the same? Other Christians allow Christian leaders and pastors in their churches to be ordained, living in open sin and in defiance of God's laws. God's laws. Some worship angels. There are excesses in some Pentecostal churches having invited kundalini, Eastern spirits, spirits of demons, spirits of devils, claiming to be spiritual. There's a misuse of grace and claiming the absence of hell. There are other global movements now coming and bringing more deception. They say God is love, God is love. He loves everyone. He loves every faith. He loves every false god. We don't need that son Jesus Christ anymore who says I'm the way, the truth and the life. There's great deception coming more so still, beloved. If that is true, what they say, then God would have never had to send his son, Jesus. If there is a way of righteousness of our own, God would have never let his son die. But his son died so that we might live. He's our eternal and great hope. Then there's the wicked ways of sexual sins, including divorce, adultery, fornication, men with men, women with women, pornography, and so on. Christian couples have a 50% divorce rate in the United States. God said he hates divorce in Malachi 2 verse 16. In our humanism, we have elected to follow God's laws. We don't try to rectify our marriages. It is easier for us to claim unconcilable differences. We say, ah, it's all right. We'll get divorced. We'll marry someone else. But Matthew chapter 19 verse 9 says, and I say to you, whoever divorces his wife except for sexual immorality and marries another commits adultery. And whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery. Many young people, especially those who do not know about the word of God, they elect to live common law without getting married. Two thirds of men in North America are hooked on pornography. 50% of pastors and church leaders are hooked on pornography. And how can that be overcome? I mentioned that computer virus before that could not be eliminated from the computer. And beloved, it is full surrender to Jesus Christ anew, the son of God. And you will be set free and free indeed. But it requires a price. There is a cost. You need to surrender with everything in you, your heart, your mind, your soul, and your strength. Your wishes, your dreams, your future. You give it all to Jesus Christ. You will be set free because there are many testimonies where that has happened. Then there's a wicked way of not forgiving those who hurt me. And in Matthew chapter 6 verses 14 and 15, it says, for if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses. The Lord says, if you forgive, then he'll forgive you. If you do not forgive, he will not forgive you. But you say, no, I can't stand that person. I can't get along with that person. They have a different opinion from me. The family members that get on my nerves. How many persons do you need to forgive? What will you do as a true Christian? The wicked way of not asking for forgiveness when I hurt others. And in Matthew chapter 5, 23 and 24, it says, therefore, if you bring a gift to the altar and they remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother and then come and offer your gift. Who do you need to ask for forgiveness? What will you do? I hurt my wife greatly. I hurt my children greatly. Yes, I asked them for forgiveness. And there's a long road back. There's a hard road back. But I did ask them for forgiveness, beloved. The wicked way of not making restitution when you can. In Luke chapter 19 verses 8 and 9, Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor. And if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold. And Jesus said to him, today's salvation has come to your house because you're also a son of Abraham. Have you stolen tools? Return them. Have you stolen office tools? Return them. Do you steal on taxes? Stop it and repay the government. Are you crossing the border without paying duties? Go back to the border and repay what you have stolen. Have you stolen love through lust? Lust takes and love gives. Will you make up for havoc that you have caused? Perhaps for children that are in the world that you have put there, but you're not paying any support. You're calling yourself a Christian. Make things right. Ask God to help you make things right. Then there's a wicked way of stealing from God. You know, we say, well, when have we stolen from you? And in Malachi chapter 3 verses 8 to 10, God answers that question. Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me. But you say, in what way have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. You're cursed with a curse, for you have robbed me, even this whole nation. But you pray and you don't get. You lack and you don't have prayers answered. Look at what you do, how you're hurting yourself. You're hurting yourself because God tells you beforehand that you're cursed. Then some might argue and say, well, it doesn't say in the New Testament that we should tithe. May I read Matthew 23, 23 to you? And here Jesus is speaking. He's saying, woe to you teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You give a tenth of your spices, mint, dill, and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law, justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter without neglecting the former. So yes, in addition to tithing, we should live a Christian life with justice, mercy, and faithfulness. But we should also not neglect the former. Now you say, well, Jesus spoke to Jewish people. That is true. But what did the disciples do in the book of Acts? Many of them gave all. So decide to not hurt yourself anymore. Don't steal from God. It's a wicked way. Choose between 10% and giving all. Give it to missionaries. Give it to the poor. Give it to those that truly need it. But do yourself that courtesy, that favor, not to be cursed with a curse by God because you're robbing him. There's a wicked way of not denying myself and not taking up my cross to follow Jesus. Jesus had said to his disciples, if anyone desires to come after me, if you want to follow Jesus, deny yourself and take up your cross and then follow Jesus. We have great difficulty with the first part of this verse and still greater difficulty with the second part. Have we denied ourselves food because we are getting to be overweight? Have we tried to stop watching TV so that we have time for our families and for God and for Bible and prayer? Have we denied ball games and entertainment to go to the poor and help them? The second part of this verse requires us to take up our cross. It refers to the task that God has given to each Christian. Has God called you to do something and you're not doing it? It's a wicked way. It's a wicked way, beloved. You should do what God has called you to do. You're in disobedience. The way of the cross in China is persecution. Yet they shout, hurry up, hurry up, share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Go from house to house. Pray for people to be healed. And there they now have 100 million underground Christians. Praise God. Beloved, my heart is so burdened. I don't know if I, how much more I can go on because there's a wicked way of not praying regularly. There's a wicked way of not reading your Bible regularly. There's a wicked way of seeking entertainment at church. There's a wicked way of not fasting. There's a wicked way of not esteeming others better than yourself. There's a wicked way of lack of obedience. There's a wicked way of murder through hate. In 1 John 3.15, it says, whoever hates his brother is a murderer. And you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. There's a wicked way of murder through anger. I know so many angry people, so many angry Christian people. Bitterness just flows from them. There's no love, joy, or peace. And they have given into anger. And then in Matthew 5.21 and 22, it says, you have heard that it was said to those of old, you shall not murder and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment. But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of counsel. And whoever says, you fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. That's what Jesus said. Then there's a wicked way of stealing God's glory. When something good happens, pastors take the glory away from God. How wicked is that? Psalm 29.2 says, give unto the Lord the glory due to his name. Worship the Lord in the beauty of his holiness. Psalm 96.3 says, declare his glory among the nations, his wonders. Every good and every perfect gift is from above and is from the Father. It's not because of you. It's because of God. So give him glory. Give him glory among the nations. Mention his wonders among the people. And in Isaiah 48.11, there's another warning. For my own sake, for my own sake, I will do it. How should my name be profaned? And I will not give my glory to another. Beloved, there are so many more things. The wicked way of a proud look. The wicked way of a lying tongue. The wicked way of hands that shed innocent blood. We have killed 60 million babies in North America. What does God say? We now have an altar of lust all over North America. When desire and lust are fulfilled, we kill that which comes from the union of lust. We kill the little ones. Genesis 9.5 says, and from each man too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man. Then there's a wicked way of a heart that devises wicked plans. There's a wicked way of feet that are swift in running to evil. There's a wicked way of a false witness who speaks lies. There's a wicked way of one who sows discord among the brethren. There's a wicked way of praying as the hypocrites pray. I'm good. I'm good, God. You know me. I try my best. You know me, God. I try my best. So you put up with me. Is that what the Bible says? The wicked way of not keeping a day of rest a week. The wicked way of not accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. So the question is, what will we Christians do? We have seen the hand of the vice president go down on 2 Chronicles 7.14. Is it the hand that lies still and does nothing? Or will you rise as a Christian? A missionary called from Belize, Central America. Her husband and she are returning to North America to warn as many as they might be able to reach and speak with. They see the dark clouds of an angry God approaching North America. And in Joel chapter 2, verse 1, it says, Blow the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm in my holy mountain. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble for the day of the Lord is coming. For it is at hand. And this couple has fasted for 62 days and they're weeping and crying before God. What will Jesus say to us? Will he say what he said in Matthew chapter 15, verses 8 and 9? These people draw near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. And in vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. Beloved sisters and brothers, beloved all of you who watch. The first step for us is repentance. And Jesus spoke to seven churches in the book of Revelation, chapter 2 and 3. And five of those churches needed to repent. And so Jesus said to the first church, You've lost your first love for me. Repent and turn around. The second church permitted eating food offered to false gods. They committed sexual immorality and they concentrated on love of money. And Jesus said it's sin, repent and turn around. Another church permitted a false preacher to teach false doctrine and permit sexual immorality and adultery. Jesus said it's sin, repent and turn around. Another church considered itself alive but was dead. They were breathing living beings but dead without any eternal fruit. And Jesus said it's sin, it's sin, repent, repent, repent, turn around. Another church lay to sea, it was lukewarm. It was rich and wealthy and had need of nothing. And Jesus said it's sin, repent and turn around. If you are a Christian, will you confess every known sin, every sin that I have mentioned? Were you guilty? Will you fall before God today and confess your sins? I have but much because I'm guilty on many of these sins. And I have knelt and I have prayed and I have asked for forgiveness. We are unable to bring about restoration through our own strength. It involves surrender and asking God to forgive us and to surrender to Jesus. We cannot turn around and go the right way without the help of the Son of God. He says, without me you can do nothing. This is what we must seek the Lord in prayer and plead for his help. And God said in Zechariah chapter 4 verse 6, not by might nor by power, but by my spirit says the Lord. And for those who have watched and you have never yet given your life to Jesus, would you agree that you have sinned and you need to ask Jesus for forgiveness? We are redeemed from the consequences of sin through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He died on a cross for our sins. He shed his blood to pay the price for death. He died and rose again on the third day to be our Savior. Having been justified by faith, we have peace with God the Father through Jesus Christ. If we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our hearts that God has raised him from the dead, we will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Please pray. It just means talking to the Lord Jesus Christ. Talk in reverence to him. Tell him that you have sinned. Explain your sins. Ask him to forgive you and ask him to come and save you. Tell him you believe in him that he died for you. Tell him that he was raised from the dead and call him to ask him to save you and to have mercy on you and then follow Jesus. Follow Jesus in the truth of the Word of God. You say, why should I do that? Because the alternative is an eternal life in the lake of fire. I don't want you to go there. Let me reason with you, said God, though your sins are like scarlet, I shall wash them white as snow. Don't go there. Don't be stubborn. Don't listen to Satan. Follow God and you will experience a new life for he makes everything new and there will be joy, love, and peace in your life. Something so incredible you have never known before. And so I urge you, I plead with you, follow God. And finally, for us Christians, God's promises are in 2 Chronicles 7 14. He will hear from heaven. He will forgive our sins. He will heal our land. God will keep his promises for God cannot lie, but we must believe him. And then we must do. Would you be willing to humble yourself? In the way that the word of God describes it? Would you be willing to pray? Would you be willing to cry out to God? Would you be willing to see God's face? Not just put your hand on the Bible, but would you take the steps to see God through prayer, through the Bible, through drawing near to him in faith? And then would you be willing to turn from wicked ways? Yes, Christians have wicked ways. You have heard so many. The Lord wants revival more than we do, for he's not willing that any should perish, but that all come to repentance. The question is, are we willing to pay the price for a renewal of our land and for revival? Are we willing to do something to fulfill these requirements? It is your choice. It is my choice. At the beginning, I mentioned the verse where God said what he's going to do if we don't. If we do not repent and turn around, then God will proceed with the prophecy of Ezekiel, which applies to all nations on this earth. And in Ezekiel chapter 14, verse 13, he said, Son of man, when the land sins against me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out my hand against it. I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it, and cut off man and beast from it. And so this is my cry for repentance and revival. God has given us a time to turn around, to turn from our evil ways, to seek him, to take these steps of humbling ourselves, of praying, of seeking his face and to turn from wicked ways. Perhaps you have become intensely aware of God's divine holiness. Perhaps one or more sin affects you. Won't you ask the Lord to forgive you and to cleanse you? Won't you pray right now asking him to wash you whiter than snow? Won't you ask Jesus and surrender your life to him and change you to overcome the seven sins? Surrender fully to Jesus and you will be free. You may be red as crimson with your sins, but he loves you so much. God will wash you whiter than snow or wool through his Son, Jesus. Ask Jesus to be your victor over the sin that so easily besets you in your life. When temptation comes, run to the Son of God in prayer. Ask him to exercise the victory. He has won already. He will do it. Jesus will do it and lead you into a new revived and newly empowered life. Ask God the Father to fill you new with his Holy Spirit to help you through his power to oppose the things that are evil in your life. The Holy Spirit will empower you with renewed obedience to the will of God and it will result in the deepening of your relationship with your heavenly Father and a renewed passion to fulfill the work God has ordained for you and chosen for you beforehand. Pray with me to repent for yourself, for your church, for your city, and for your country. Turn around and trust God and his Son to change your life. Pray for personal revival. Pray for revival in your church. Pray for revival in your city and pray for revival in your nation. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we come into your holy presence again, Lord. Thank you so much for all of the words that you have spoken to us. Thank you for your wonderful book, the Bible. Thank you for the Lord Jesus Christ who came to give his life for us that we might live. And yet, Father, we repent before you. We cry out because our sins have come to your attention in heaven and we have seen a deterioration in our respective nations of North America. And there's no hope except through you that you would rend the heavens, that you would send your Holy Spirit upon us, Father. I pray that you would help each one that is listening to this day. Renew them, Lord. Renew me, Father. Help me, Lord. Let us also shine with this inner glory that I was talking about, Lord. Help us to shine. Lord, help us to turn around. Help us to trust in you and your Son to change our life. Lord, I pray for personal revival. I pray for revival in our church. I pray for revival in our city. I pray for revival in our state or province. I pray for revival in our nation. Lord, have yet mercy. Lord, the dew drops and the rain you let fall at the inauguration of the new president. Lord, let those drops be a reminder of your mercy, but also the warning that you have given us that it is not enough to just place our hand on 2 Chronicles 7, 14, but that you require us to do that which you require us to do in your word. You gave us a conditional promise, so now, Father, help us through your mercy. Come, come, Lord Jesus, come. And we pray all of these in the blessed name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen and amen. Thank you for joining me and may God use you mightily in the days to come and turn, turn the world around you. Turn the world in your family. Turn the world where you work. Turn the world in your church. Turn the world for Jesus and for God himself and do what the Bible says. Thank you for joining me. Bye-bye for now.
