David Robertson

David Robertson (May 2, 1962 – N/A) was a Scottish preacher, pastor, and apologist whose ministry emphasized revival, biblical preaching, and cultural engagement within evangelical and Presbyterian circles. Born in Berwick-upon-Tweed, England, he was raised in Fearn, Easter Ross, Scotland, and attended Tain Royal Academy. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an M.A. Honours degree in History and from Free Church College (now Edinburgh Theological Seminary) with a Diploma in Theology in 1983. Converted in his youth, he began his preaching career in 1986 as minister of Clyne Free Church in Brora, Scotland, before serving as minister of St Peter’s Free Church in Dundee from 1992 to 2019, where Robert Murray McCheyne once preached. Robertson’s preaching career gained prominence through his leadership as Moderator of the Free Church of Scotland (2015–2016) and his founding of Solas Centre for Public Christianity in 2010, aimed at equipping Christians to share their faith. His sermons on SermonIndex.net, such as “A Church without Revival,” reflect his passion for spiritual awakening and scriptural fidelity. A prolific author, he wrote books like The Dawkins Letters (2007) and Awakening (2010), and ran The Wee Flea blog, reaching over six million readers by 2021. Married to Annabel MacLeod since the early 1980s, with three children and three grandchildren, he moved to Australia in 2019 to direct the ASK project with Sydney Anglicans, continuing his ministry as of March 24, 2025.
