The Hope of Heaven and the Resurrection
Mike Bickle

Mike Bickle (1955 - ). American evangelical pastor, author, and founder of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), born in Kansas City, Missouri. Converted at 15 after hearing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach at a 1970 Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference, he pastored several St. Louis churches before founding Kansas City Fellowship in 1982, later Metro Christian Fellowship. In 1999, he launched IHOPKC, pioneering 24/7 prayer and worship, growing to 2,500 staff and including a Bible college until its closure in 2024. Bickle authored books like Passion for Jesus (1994), emphasizing intimacy with God, eschatology, and Israel’s spiritual role. Associated with the Kansas City Prophets in the 1980s, he briefly aligned with John Wimber’s Vineyard movement until 1996. Married to Diane since 1973, they have two sons. His teachings, broadcast globally, focused on prayer and prophecy but faced criticism for controversial prophetic claims. In 2023, Bickle was dismissed from IHOPKC following allegations of misconduct, leading to his withdrawal from public ministry. His influence persists through archived sermons despite ongoing debates about his legacy

A passage that you should all be really familiar with and meaning in the days to come. You want to read it over and over and and get familiar with it because again it's called the anchor in our soul that when pressure comes, temptation comes, if we don't know who we are and where we're going, we can get caught up in the drama of the moment and lose sight of the big picture of the dignity and the glory of who God has called his people, the body of Christ to be and where we're going and who it is that we really trust. You know in Luke chapter 20, Jesus called us the sons of the resurrection. That's part of our identity that we live life with a view of a real physical resurrection and we make decisions in light of that. That's why we're called the sons of the resurrection. A couple weeks ago I had a very inspiring conversation with a woman that's on her deathbed and I want to tell you a little bit about that conversation and she urged me to tell you her name is Martha Stevens. She's been a long-term friend of mine. She was a part of the church I was pastoring here 32 years ago. Real faithful believer and now she's over 85 years old. She's on her deathbed and I talked to her on the phone and I said, Martha, you know, how are you doing? I mean, I know she knows she's dying. I know she's dying and her first statement was, she goes, Mike, I'm shocked. No, I'm really, really shocked and I'm paused. I think, oh no, she goes, dying is wonderful. I said, excuse me? She goes, I had fear all of my life. I know I'll go to heaven. I know that and I love that part but the process is terrifying to me and it has been for many, many years but I'm shocked. I love it. I go, well, break this down for me a little bit. I said, this is a very interesting and surprising of the things that you're telling me here. Now over the years, like 30 years ago in the 80s and 90s, I had a few conversations with her about one of my favorite topics and that is I've read many, many stories of people that have had death experiences and I love to to hear. I don't believe all of them but I've read hundreds of them over the years. It's a bit of a hobby plus some like when I would go to another city in the 80s or 70s or 80s, I would go to the Christian bookstore. Hey, do you have any books on people that have had death experiences? Because it's just so fascinating. You know, the day we die is one of the most important days of our life and at the day, that's sure and yet a lot of folks don't think about it and they don't really live their life in the light of it. Well, I've read many stories and some, like I said, I don't believe them all but there's a number of consistent themes that come up in the hundreds and hundreds of stories I've read over the years and one of them is this and Martha knew this and she referenced it that in the minutes before somebody dies or sometimes the hours, a few occasions, the days before they die, that realm that I mean the veil between this realm, the physical earthly realm and the heavenly realm, that veil slightly lifts and people, many thousands and thousands and thousands, I mean, I mean, truly many have testified of glimpses on the other side and glimpses of the supernatural world and often it's moments before they die and and the people around will tell the story or sometimes people recover from that death moment and then they tell you won't believe what I saw and and again many of the stories are very consistent with each other and they honor what is written in the word of God. Again, not all of them, some of them, I look, I go, I don't have any way to make sense of that. Well, she knew that, she goes, Mike, she goes, it's right, what we talked about back in the 80s, it's right, that veil lifts just ever so slightly, I've got glimpses the last couple days and I said, okay, okay, tell me, I said, this is very interesting, it's only about two weeks ago, a week or two ago, I'm talking to her, she goes, well, one day, I mean, just like the day before, she goes, the Lord, I saw him, I saw Jesus for about a minute or two only and she goes, I looked around, I go, wait, I'm not, I'm not sleeping, she goes, she touched herself, she goes, this is not a dream, he didn't say a word, he was standing over the corner, he just smiled at her, he goes, I looked at him and I went, what is going on and she goes and then he was gone and then waves of feeling of the presence of God came over me, she goes, for two or three hours, she goes, like it never ended, it seemed like I felt love, I felt loved by him, I felt love for him, I thought, wow, I've never had intense feelings like this, she goes, I had such joy, no fear at all, just sublime, tranquil feeling of peace and she goes and then it lifted, I went, wow, it's amazing, she goes, then a little bit later, I fell asleep and I had a dream and in the dream, an angel appeared and I see this angel, doesn't, the angel says nothing, just stands there and I wake up and I go, oh, oh, wait, no, that was just a dream, she goes, what was that, wow, she's describing this graphically, she goes, then waves of that feeling comes over me again and it lasts for an hour or two, I go, lord, well, this feeling is fantastic, I didn't know dying felt this way, she goes in a day or two later, I heard ever so faint but clear, angelic choirs, beautiful, I was going, lord, I want to hear and I could hear it, she goes and people came to visit me and said, Martha, you're losing it, she goes, as a matter of fact, my body has pain in it but I won't take any pain medication because I want to, I want my mind to be alert, I don't want to miss this hour, she goes so and she gave me a couple other things that's happened, she goes about every two or three days, I get a minute but then I got hours of feeling of peace and joy, she goes, Mike, I'm absolutely shocked, death is so much better the process, she goes, I know heaven's going to be way better than this but I never knew this was like this and I said, Martha, this is remarkable, she goes, I want you to go tell your young people this, she goes, that's why I think the lord is keeping me day by day because people are visiting her, friends, many many friends, she was a godly woman, has been a godly woman for 50 years, I mean, really devout for the lord and she goes, I'm telling everybody this and so I know that I'm, this thing is stretching on two weeks, three weeks, I'm just, she goes, every day, she goes like, I called her last night again, just said, check in with her, she goes, I woke up this morning, I went, oh lord, why do I have to wake up, I just let me go, I just want to get into this thing completely but she goes, I think I'm supposed to be telling all you guys and she's told a lot of folks and she goes, they come by me or call, visit me or they call me and I tell the story and so she goes, you know, I had the most amazing marriage and she always talked about her marriage to her husband Don who died some years ago, she goes, we were married well over 40 years and she goes, we had the best marriage but she goes, Mike, I got something to tell you, I'm on the phone, she pauses, she goes, dying is better than marriage, I said, excuse me, I go, what did you say, she goes, I know, Mike, this is me talking, you know, I'm the one that had the best marriage in history, I would never say something like that, it's awesome and I want everybody to know that if they love the Lord, this is real, she goes, pray, pray that I just can go home today, I said, no, Martha, I'm praying you stay and get me more information, this is amazing, I'm really needing this information, I go, you're really making me homesick and so anyway, I just wanted to tell that story and I thought, you know, we need to just be reminded about this reality and so there's no place in the scripture like 1st Corinthians chapter 15 about the resurrection and again, we don't want to wait to talk on the resurrected body only once a year at Easter time because it is an anchor, it is something we are to draw on day in and day out, well, let's look at 1st Corinthians 15, just look a few of these verses, we won't cover all this today but I'll leave you with some verses to study on your own on the back side of this page, Paul begins in 1st Corinthians 15 verse 1, he goes, I declare to you the gospel and now he's going to lay it out, he said, by which also you are saved if you hold fast, if you stay with it, here it is, verse 3, the gospel, I delivered to you first of all, Christ died for our sins and he rose again on the third day, so he begins with the glorious gospel, the good news, Christ died and the definitive statement is the debt of our sin has been paid, the innocent one took the role of the guilty that us, the guilty ones could be declared innocent as a free gift of God, he died, it's a historical fact, the debt is paid, the devil wants to make charges against us but in the court of God, his charges, they don't stand up, the debt is paid, he died, it is finished, it's taken care of, so he starts with that like, wow, okay, the sin problem has been paid, the debt's been paid, Paul says it's more than that, verse 4, he rose again, a man, a physical, a man with a physical body, a human being came out of the grave with a physical body, a resurrected body, he goes that is the fact of history, now in the old testament, prophets like Elijah would pray for somebody and they died, they'd come back from the dead but then a few years later, they'd die again, so they were resuscitated it is probably a more accurate idea when they were brought back from the dead, no man had ever died, came out of the grave with a fully intact functioning supernatural body, only one man has ever done that, verse 20, Paul goes on in this great resurrection chapter, he said he's risen, he goes back to the theme that he's risen, he goes but you have to understand, his raising, being raised from the dead is has implications to you, it was a firstfruits, meaning it was a guarantee of many more to be raised from the dead just like he was, it's a firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep now in the new testament, a death of a believer is often described as falling asleep because when you, when a believer dies, they don't go into oblivion, the bible is really clear, when a believer dies, instantly their spirit is with the lord, instantly their spirit is with the lord, they don't have even a moment where they're in some limbo of non-existence, their physical body decomposes and through history, whether it's decomposed in the on the ground or at sea and god, i don't, you know, in his amazing ability, the dna is still intact even though so microscopic that we could never discern it or find it but god's in that decomposed physical body finds the intact dna and raises that, raises our body from the dead on the last day and of course the last day is the day when jesus returns, that's the bible calls that the last day, that he will command and out of the graves will come all the believers with resurrected bodies from their own dna and the reason the dna point is a part, a point is important because you will still be you, you will have the same ethnicity, you will have the same personality but perfection, you will look the same but in total perfection, it will really be you, it won't be some other person, you will be all of your personality, your traits, your giftings, your dispositions will be brought, will be kept intact and brought to fullness and protection and i mean a fullness of perfection and it's a most remarkable deal so when we meet each other in the resurrection, we will recognize and know each other and we will remember this life, we will remember our interactions together, everything that was good will be remembered and honored and it will stay alive, i mean it's it's most remarkable but jesus paul is saying here jesus's resurrection though a historical fact and a great advancement for the human family that a man rose from the dead, he's at the right hand of the father lobbying for the human race to come after him, if they would give their life to him and receive his salvation, they will follow him, he's the first fruits, he's the guarantee, he's the certainty of that which is coming for all of those that have fallen asleep, believers that have died, now another thing that i want to highlight that i've read in numerous again death testimonies and i want to always say i don't believe all that's said in these things but only the part that's validated in the word of god but one thing that's really common is that i've read this over and over and over and even talked to a few people that have had death experiences they like the guy has a car wreck and he dies but he doesn't know he's dead and he goes oh that was a close call and he kind of shakes and he looks over and he stands up but his body's on the ground he's going hmm and they don't even know what happened they think i feel totally alive who's that he looks just like me that's how real life is when we step out of a physical body and again some folks have had those encounters went stood before the lord and came back and they were you know miraculously resuscitated in the er but those are the stories i've heard many of those kinds of stories it is truly you fall asleep your body does and your spirit is fully alive in the presence of god well verse 49 paul says it's more than that jesus is the guarantee you'll have a resurrected body it's more he goes in verse 49 you're gonna bear the image of the same resurrected body he has meaning the capacities that jesus has in his human resurrected body he's fully god and fully man and i'm talking about in terms of his humanity all of the capacities that he has every believer will have corresponding capacities for the supernatural the glory of god we won't have the glory in the same measure but the capacity though a much smaller measure it will correspond to his glory and the bible makes it clear that every believer will have varying and different capacities even in our own resurrected bodies we'll all have the same basic realities but some more than others and of course jesus the ultimate and the fullest experience of any man paragraph b paul went on to elaborate on this point of having a body like the lord's he says in philippians chapter 3 verse 21 he goes god will transform our lowly body it will be conformed to jesus's glorious resurrected body again we will have all the glory that he has in his humanity will have a corresponding of elements of it just different degrees or different measures of it first john chapter 3 the apostle john says uh when you read the whole text it says when we see him on the last day at the second coming we will be like him everyone who has this hope everyone that has this hope they will have a resurrected body they will be like him they will live forever in his presence this hope will purify them because what again the the verse in hebrews 6 says this hope is an anchor and paul talks about the winds and the waves that against our life in ephesians 4 he says our life is like tossed by winds and waves and he said the winds are winds of doctrine false ideas about god false ideas about uh different ways of salvation false ideas about how it's okay to live in compromise and to just uh cast off the lord's leadership winds of doctrine will raise up in the culture and they will assault you and some believers yield to those winds of doctrine and paul used another uh analogy he said not just winds but waves waves and winds waves troubling circumstances difficult issues that make you want to quit and he said in ephesians 4 he said when those winds and waves hit you you don't have to be tossed you don't have to give up or give in but if there's an anchor in your soul out at the sea in the storm there's an anchor you might bobble up and down a bit but you stay steady in the big sense and this is what the hope of the resurrection does it purifies us because when i'm tossed by uh deceiving uh winds of doctrine that make me want to believe wrong ideas or waves of difficulty that i want to give up i go wait wait wait i know who i am i'm one of the sons of the resurrection i mean there's a couple billion of us over history i know who i am wait no no no i'm not giving in i'm not giving up no no i know who i am i know where i'm going i know who i serve and who i love and who i trust i know him i don't know him that well but i know him i know him a bit and by realigning uh to the truth of the resurrection john says right here it purifies you this hope will purify you when you recall it to mind line up again with it and refuse to give in and to give up look at paragraph c this is paul again in ephesians chapter one this is one of my favorite verses relating to heaven and the age to come paul uh this is remarkable passage ephesians chapter 1 verse 9 and 10 he says god verse 9 having been made known to us the secret plan of his will god's had a secret plan from before the garden of eden before adam and eve before the creation of the heavens and earth he had a plan it was always in his heart and here's was the plan before he even created the heavens and the earth he would do this verse 10 he would gather together he would bring into a unity everything in heaven and everything in earth he would bring the heavenly and the earthly realm together so the supernatural dimension of heaven and the physicality the physical realm of earth will be brought together now paul said that was always god's plan before adam and eve yielded to sin and things went a different direction this was his plan from day one was that he would have a creation and people would dwell in his immediate presence in a garden of eden type environment forever and forever and forever and so when adam and eve send other things developed and jesus came and he paid the debt and he's the one that reverses it all back to the original plan but here's the idea a lot of people don't really connect with what the bible says about this heaven is coming down to the earth now between the resurrection of jesus and his second coming in the future when we die our body goes into the grave and we our spirit goes to heaven for that two thousand plus years that's a temporary holding pattern a believer that died a hundred years ago their spirit is with god but when jesus comes back that whole idea changes people aren't far away in heaven heaven comes down to the earth and again there's the physicality of a resurrected body but the splendor of the new jerusalem which is uh the heavenly city is down on the earth and and and the reason this is so important to understand because a lot of people have this very vague idea about heaven it's kind of you know they're kind of a little bit in the in a vapor they're kind of in a mist they're up there on a cloud and they're singing on a harp playing a harp and there they're drifting by and their friend they go hey bro good good to see you praise god praise god millions of years later then you know they drift back hey how you doing and they think well they feel kind of guilty you know i don't really want to do that i love god and i want to worship him but gee whiz on a cloud with a heart for millions of years like really like and what else well that is a completely wrong idea of the biblical view of heaven there the biblical view of heaven has physicality it's it's real we will have a physical body as real as the body you have now but with supernatural capacities this is real this is not a comic hero comic figure whatever superheroes what i'm trying to is this is not that this is reality and you will have a physical body you will eat food you will drink uh water and liquids or whatever you will eat you will drink you will know people you will meet new people you will learn things you will serve your your work will increase and increase the fruit of it will be seen it's not you're not going to be sitting in a corner just worshiping all day feeling a little bit guilty that it's you really like to get on to doing something else now one uh preacher said that if you don't think rightly about heaven you won't ever think about heaven and a lot that's there there's a lot of truth in that statement if you don't think rightly of heaven you won't think of it meaning if you think of heaven as a vague vapor cloud floating you're not going to think about heaven you're going to lock in all of your energy only on now the here and now now i believe in the here and now and being responsible and being diligent and serving and humility and and honoring and all of those things i believe in that it really makes a difference what we do now but now it's not the whole story the whole narrative is it now most our major life story is actually in the age to come but what we do now is honored and impacted in the in our life in the age to come is impacted by it let's look at paragraph d that in when when jesus returns he's going to bring the new jerusalem down to the earth now again the new jerusalem is what we think of as heaven the new jerusalem is where the throne of god is the new jerusalem is coming down to the earth and ultimately human beings will see god face to face you know throughout all of history from moses on no human being could see god face to face we could feel his presence we could honor his word but nobody could see god in a physical body and live is what the scripture said in book of exodus but the day is coming the father said that's not the ultimate that's only a season uh through throughout you know the last uh years of human history the day is coming i will be before my people they will see me i will be openly manifest forever on a physical earth with them that's where this thing is going now what's going to happen is the supernatural element of our life will really uh enhance what we're doing but the natural processes will not all be suspended you will still learn you will still work you will still eat you will still know people you will still relate you will still serve and you will have exhilaration in all of those kinds of things let's look at paragraph e let's look at uh uh john gives the apostle john gives just a little snapshot of uh of uh the new jerusalem again which is the heavenly city that comes down to the earth and he describes it intentionally this is not an accident as the garden of eden the ultimate garden of eden the garden of eden in the book of genesis was only the down payment and and it was temporary and it faded away the garden of eden in the bible is yet to come to the earth in a permanent and an ultimate sense well let's see what john says just to get a little snapshot of this verse 10 he says the holy jerusalem or it's called the new jerusalem other places of the bible it will descend from heaven and the idea has come down to the earth that is mentioned repeatedly in the in the new testament this city will have the glory of god manifest this whole city and the bible describes as a city about 1500 miles in its height 1500 miles in its length and its width as well 1500 miles in all three directions verse 11 her light will be like a precious stone a most precious stone it will be like an a jasper stone clear as crystal it will have the city itself will have a diamond like radiance through it many many facets of color all the colors of the rainbow and many more besides color and music and fragrance will fill the city there's so much on this this uh subject in the bible there are phrases here phrases there you put them together and there's a remarkable amount of information in the scripture about it but you got to search it out and you're going to be hungry for it but it's actually in the word for our edification here in verse 21 the streets are pure like gold we all hear that at every funeral the streets of gold like transparent glass verse 23 there's no need for the sun the natural sun in that city because the glory of jesus will illuminate it that's a remarkable statement that the glory of jesus you know when he appeared to john the apostle in revelation chapter one after jesus raised from the dead years later he appears to john and john the apostle was at the closest one to jesus of all the apostles and john uh history says was in his 90s when the book of revelation was written and jesus appears to him many years after he's been an apostle and the lord stands in front of him and his face shines brighter than the sun in its strength john is so overwhelmed at what he sees that he falls like a dead man before jesus and jesus stoops over and touches him and says john john it's me you've been serving me for 50 60 years it's me and john is trembling because of the majesty and the glory and it's like jesus could have said john this is who i've always been this is not new john you did not know that i was this is the glory i had when i was with you well john was overwhelmed by the the radiance and the splendor coming out of this man he's a man he's fully managed fully god but he's fully man i mean it overwhelmed john john writes later that's revelation one here in revelation 21 john says you know that face i saw back in chapter one that face will light up the whole city it's not only that i fell before him the entire city will be illuminated by the glory of this man i want to say something about this man you know out in the culture today they say well you know all religions are the same all faiths lead to god that is absolutely not the truth there is no other world religion that has a man who was fully god and fully man no other world religion has a man who lived in absolute perfection and paid the debt for sin no other religion has a man whose very glory illuminates the resident the eternal city forever and forever there is no man like this man and this idea that they're all the same and they're all equal is a is a very very most serious serious error and deception there is one man there's one way of salvation there is one resurrection from the dead it comes from this man and we don't need to draw back and cower we can be kind about it and tender about it but we don't need to be intimidated by the rhetoric in the society of all this religious jargon going on this is a real man with a real body and you're really going to him and it's a real city it's really coming down and it's really your life and we don't have to back away from that because we're sons of the resurrection and we're bold about who he is and there is one way of salvation he is that man and we are we again we can speak it in humility and tenderness and kindness but never ever do we yield the truth because at the end of the day that will lead them and reinforce them in their own confusion and religious deception well john sees this city and he's just overwhelmed by it you know uh ever since the garden of eden there's been a longing for heaven in our heart all human beings long for this celestial amazing future i mean many don't believe it but many of the stories of history uh they reflect this longing in the human heart because god put that longing for home he put that in our heart there's this there's this vacuum god created vacuum in every heart that longs for that home and longs for the relationship with that god and there's nothing can fill that god created vacuum it's emptiness that only he can fill i remember one of the great stories that depict this celestial city sort of uh i remember i was seven years old the wizard of oz i'll never forget it i think i was seven i was with it whatever and i but i remember vividly i'm watching it and dorothy and the tin man and the scarecrow and the other guy they come over the hill and you know over the crest of the hill and i remember vividly there is oz dazzling over the future oh and everybody stopped this is back black and white tv only boy did the job anyway i i remember i was about seven i went oh my god it never dawned on me there might be and i remember i said oh i don't know about all that but is there such a place i know that's a fairy tale wizard of oz but even when i was seven i said lord god i didn't know god is there i want to know about is there anything like this out there and i believe the human heart longs and craves for this kind of reality look at paragraph f uh in revelation chapter 22 i mean it's a remarkable that inside of the life of the city two of the things that are highlighted immediately are food and drink food and drink the pleasure of food and the pleasure of drink because we will have really really have physical bodies for real they will be resurrected bodies but they will still be physical and that was one of the things that is highlighted uh by john he saw this let's page two just in the next two or three minutes here page two paragraph b john is i mean i mean luke uh the uh the gospel of luke chapter 24 is describing a conversation jesus had with two disciples on the road to emmaus it's a very famous story but we glean from this story remarkable insights into jesus's resurrected body now the reason we really are written this is really personal to us because our resurrected body will be like his again of lesser glory but it will be like his look at luke chapter 24 verse 15 and jesus drew new drew near to these two disciples they're on their way to the city of emmaus and it says verse 16 their eyes were restrained meaning jesus has the ability in his resurrected body let me just make a inadequate analogy he can turn the amps up the power up to a 10 and show the glory of god light up the whole city of jerusalem the new jerusalem or he can turn the amps down to zero and he after the resurrection mary magdalene went to the garden and thought he was a gardener there was no glory emanating out of him he turned it down to zero because he wanted to talk to her or something i had i had a situation that he wanted to a purpose he wanted to serve but here the road the disciples on the road to emmaus he turns it down to zero they don't see who he is they're talking verse 31 their eyes are opening he's turning it up a little bit you know maybe up to one i'm just making up that again inadequate analogy they knew him they go oh my god you're him because they were telling jesus they thought he was a stranger who didn't know the story of what happened they go hey there's this guy that died in jerusalem it's really remarkable the prophets talked about him you don't know anything about this and of course they're talking to jesus but he's got the glory you know really dialed down then he lets them see who he is then he vanishes he's how does a guy with a physical body vanish i mean he's gone they go where did he go verse 33 these two guys they go to jerusalem verse 35 they tell the apostles oh my goodness this was the most remarkable we saw him he's alive we saw him with our eyes it's him right when they're talking verse 36 in the upper room tucked away jesus walks right through the wall with his physical body hi it's me again that's that's the one we saw there he is wait the doors are locked how did you get the doors are all locked how did you get in here he walked through the wall verse 39 he told them handle me see he goes touch me see with your own eyes touch me feel me he goes look i have flesh and bones i have an elbow it's i got a real human body and of course the idea for us today is and so will we that's the way i'm applying this in this message he has supernatural flesh which is different from corruptible flesh that we have but we will have flesh it will be of a different order we all have bones you know when we hug each other in the age to come it's not like we hug each other and we're all spirits so we kind of whoa we pass through well let's try that again whoa wait hey slow down if i'm gonna hug you you gotta slow down because i we keep missing each other no when you hug each other we boom there you have it because you will have a real body a real memory you will learn you will meet new people you will learn their story you will recall what happened in this age that was redemptive you will tell other friends about the new friends you met you will serve on the earth your purpose will increase and increase the things you're serving you go well what you know after you fill the whole earth with the glory of god then what i mean you know a million years passed we got billions more years to go what are we going to do i don't know but the lord might say look back the galaxies i mean that milky way galaxy is one of a billion galaxies in the known universe i don't know where that's going i don't have any ideas but i know this jesus would say i have a lot bigger plan than you imagine you know some of us when we first got our first smartphone we were blown away oh my gosh where is this going jesus might say to you right now you have no idea where you're serving and your involvement with me is going it's going in a realm in the billions of years ahead we don't know much we don't know anything about that really so there's no point in conjecture but i know it's big and it's vast and it's real well verse 41 jesus looked at him he goes uh do you have any food verse 41 and their eyes get real big and food why he goes i don't want to know they brought him a piece of fish you can read it right there he ate it and then right after that he walked through the wall he's got elbows he ate fish alan hood says did the fish go through the wall with him or did he get stuck you know you know because the fish was still physical i don't know if he ever figures that out i want him to tell me i'm gonna have the worship team go ahead and come on up look at paragraph d this is remarkable paul says that his crown of rejoicing in the age to come will be his relationship with people in this age you will remember the people that impacted you and you impacted in this age you will have rejoicing then because remember your mind will you'll have a resurrected body your mind will be perfect in recall i mean the little two-year-old that you blessed you will remember that and so will the two-year-old a million years from now your mind will be completely have total recall and pulse because it's resurrected mind all the negative is removed and the positive we rejoice in i mean this is a remarkable reality that the idea that that uh even in the age to come what we're doing now will matter and we will remember and and we will rejoice in and go oh you encouraged me that day remember i actually do i forgot it on but yeah i do well you spoke those words to me and you were kind to me and it really mattered and then i helped that person and that person comes and they're talking it goes on and on and on beloved what we do really really matters here in paragraph uh e paul laid out five i'm not going to go through them five dimensions of the glory of god are are highlighted five different qualities just read over that in your own time and understand that this thing is real this is where we're going this is what we're about amen let's stand before the lord let's just ask the lord to touch us lord we we love your leadership we love who you are god we ask you even now you would cause this to be like an anchor in our soul it would anchor us back in the midst of the winds and the waves that hit our spiritual life anchor us back it matters it matters it's real you're the truth let this anchor realign us day in and day out i'm gonna invite anybody in the room that would like prayer to uh come on up if you would like it if you would prepare for anything for your life your marriage your family just any situation the marketplace anything you want for your body to be touched if you're sick we want to ask the lord to touch you and strengthen you and heal you and touch you in any way but if there's anyone in the room today and you say i don't have a relationship with the lord you know you can receive this free gift it's absolutely free you can receive it today this relay it's not religion it's a relationship with a glorious god he died and rose again that you and i could be with him forever together forever but come on up if that's you and when people come and pray for you just tell them hey i want to know this how does this work i want to be part of this i don't mean this ministry i'm talking about the kingdom of god a part of god's kingdom god's eternal family so just tell him that father i just ask you by the power of the holy spirit you would move upon hearts i'm going to invite the ministry team to go ahead and come on out father we love your leadership we love the gospel of jesus anyone that's saying lord i want to give my heart to you or some of you need to realign your heart with the lord come on out raising anybody in leadership can i help you in our mission space at fcf anyone come on up as well there's no tears and no pain where we're going is lord i ask you for the spirit of grace oh the anchor of our souls you have risen jesus is you would like healing in your body or your heart or anything just make it known come on up ever let us be a people of hope our souls let us be a people of hope arise within us let us be a people of hope let this hope come our souls let us be let us be a people of hope arise within us let us be a people of hope let this hope come anchor We are sons of the resurrection.
