Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Sermon Transcription
When anyone receives revelation in the Word of God, it sometimes conflicts with what he has previously been taught. This causes you to have to deal with old traditions or wrong teachings. These tapes may contain some new light from God's Word, and it may be opposed to some traditions you have previously learned. Therefore, follow through these messages in your Bible, in sequence, in order that you may be able to make a choice for the Word of God rather than the traditions of men. This is tape number seven in a series. We urge you to listen to all the tapes in the series in numerical order, so that the whole teaching can be received and understood. Listening to a part of the series or to the tapes out of sequence can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. Have you stopped to think about the church tonight? We're all there, they're in fellowship, but they're breaking one bread with one another, they were in prayer, and taking their meals together. What would it be like if everyone knew that when you come there, you're going to hear three hours of the Word, and you wouldn't hear any good stories? Let me ask you something. Do you believe I'm saying what kind of what kind of flock do you think that pastor would have to walk with him? I bet you he wouldn't have to be serving a lot of flesh, would he? Huh? Flesh can't stand that. They absolutely can't stand it. They can't do it. The gospel is not to please folks. Ungodly doctrines show up, and gospel is changed. When you get a doctrine, it doesn't conform you to godliness. And this doctrine changes the gospel so that flesh will be pleased. And flesh pleases flesh when the motives are wrong, because if Jesus has all your heart, you're not going to walk ungodly, because you're not going to be walking in selfish ambition. You're not going to try to please the world. You're not going to try to please flesh. You're not even going to try to please yourself, because you no longer live for yourself. You live for him that was raised from the dead. So for this reason, we've been born again into a living hope of the resurrection of Jesus Christ in the dead. Our inheritance is incorruptible, undefiled, fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for us. We're kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time. And although we've never seen you, Lord, we sure do love you. And although we don't see you right now, we believe you, we trust you, we rejoice with the joy unspeakable, full of glory, receiving the end of our faith, even the salvation of our souls, because we've been redeemed. We've been redeemed with the precious blood of Jesus, who without blemish, without spot. We've been born again, not a corruptible seed, but incorruptible seed, by the word of God that liveth and abideth forever. Jesus Christ is a cornerstone. He's rejected of men, and he is precious. We're lively stones that make up a spiritual house, that offer up spiritual sacrifice, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. We're a chosen generation. We're a royal priesthood. We're a holy priesthood. We are peculiar folks. Peculiar. We don't walk in selfishness. We, we walk in a love. It's not that flesh, compassion. We walk in a love that only comes from God. It's a God kind of love. It doesn't take into account a wrong suffered. It's never jealous. It's never impatient, never angry. It doesn't have pride. It doesn't boast. It doesn't have resentment. It doesn't have any unforgiveness. It doesn't criticize. It doesn't judge. It's a God kind of love. It's a God kind of love, and it only comes supernaturally through the work of the Spirit of God. So we're peculiar people. To show forth praises unto him, to deliver us out of the darkness into his marvelous light. So we walk in a manner worthy of the Lord to please him. We bear fruit in all good works. Because we speak as the oracles of God in every relationship and every thought we do, we do as unto the Lord because we tear down every thought that exalts itself against pleasing God. We bring every thought captive to the obedience of pleasing God in all relationships and everything we do and say. Because he's delivered us out of the darkness into the kingdom of his beloved Son in whom we have redemption and a forgiveness of all ourselves who his own self has taken. All our weaknesses, sicknesses, diseases. He took our sins in his own body on a tree that we would die to sin. That we would die to sin. And then as we die to sin, we are going to live unto righteousness, sanctification, purification, endure to the end, bear fruit, and our fruit remains. And then he establishes our covenant. And then you can say by his stripes, I was healed. I now receive the finished work to Calvary because the prayer of a righteous man availeth much. The effective prayer of a righteous man availeth much. We lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. We are an anthem of all and it will be restored. Amen. In a day and time of the great falling away, which you're in, it's a falling away from the faith. And when doctrines are changed and they become doctrines of men, they're there to please people. They please flesh. Because the only way that flesh can be kings is to please flesh. It doesn't please God. The ambition is not to please the Lord. It doesn't please the Lord when you walk in ungodliness. Now when you change, when you set up traditions and doctrines that do not conform you to godliness, you could very easily be like the man there that cast out demons, miracles, and prophesied in Matthew 7 that didn't even know the Lord. It's easy to do. We just practice sin. It's a different spirit working with him. Also, I can guarantee you that when doctrines of ungodliness, and when you have doctrines to please men, and they're perverted and they're carnal doctrines, folks won't be preaching the judgment of God. They'll leave it out of the Bible. Because the only thing they'll preach is blessings and fine things to please flesh. So this was a fleshy people that were falling after men. They said, I'm Apollos and, you know, and 1 Corinthians. Paul had a time with them. I'm of this and I'm of that. You ask somebody today if they're a Christian, they say, I'm a Methodist. Or say, I'm a Baptist. Or I'm this or I'm that. Well, that really didn't answer the question. That's the way they were. Let me just say that's the way they were. Turn to 1 Corinthians 1, please. And boy, what a blessing you've been to me this week. He was telling them in 1 Corinthians 1, how many of you know that in verse 26, for consider your calling brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh. Not many mildly, not many noble that are called, chosen. I mean, that are called. You realize that? You know why? Because God's wisdom, folks, is different from flesh wisdom. Now, this is what you understand because this has trapped a whole lot of people. Because they take the intellect of the flesh and they associate it because they know maybe historical revelation or a whole lot of facts or something. They mistake it as being the wisdom of God. Now, I want to straighten this out tonight that the wisdom of God is not intellect. The wisdom of God is not academic. The wisdom of God is revelation and grace and it's for a whosoever will. Because people of flesh take the Word of God and they take knowledge and knowledge make us proud. They take this knowledge and they lord it over someone that doesn't know the difference. And as long as the word is the Bible chain to the pulpit, they can never learn nothing to get out of the bondage they're in, see. They're held in bondage, fear and intimidation. So 1 Corinthians 1, verse 17, for Christ did not send me to baptize. Paul said, but to preach the gospel. Now, was Paul one of the wise after the flesh that got called, isn't that right? Amen. But the rest of those disciples and everything, they were tax collectors and they were a mess, fishermen. Jesus was a carpenter. So he said, for Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel. It wasn't in cleverness of speech. It wasn't in intellect or academic or whatever, that the cross of Christ should not be made void. Now, I'm not making anything wrong with having intellect. I'm not making anything wrong with academic as long as it doesn't conflict with the gospel. What I do make, what I'm downpointing at today, is the fact that people are using these two things, the Lord it over people, to become their kings. So, Paul said, when you use this cleverness of speech, it makes the cross of Christ void. Why? Because if you're using cleverness of speech, you're trying to be the source to bring them on instead of the Word of God, right? So 27, God has chosen foolish things of the world that confound the wise or shame the wise. And verse 29, that no man is going to be able to boast, because it's by his doing that you're in Christ. And he's the one that came to us with them. Is that right? So the only place we have to boast is boasting the Lord. Now look in chapter 2, verse 1, and when I came to you, now he's talking to these Corinthians. I didn't come with a superiority of speech. I didn't come to impress you with my speech or intellect or whatever or wisdom, proclaiming you the testimony of God. Well, I determined I don't want to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I don't care who's the janitor and who's the bank president is. It doesn't matter to me. Now, that's the way it was when Paul wrote two-thirds of the New Testament. He might have known something, didn't he? And he said, I was with you in weakness, and I was with you, what's that word right there? I was with you in fear. You know why he's with them in fear? And you're going to see it directly, because they're still walking out of the flesh. Can I tell you that they were not overcoming the flesh? That is the reason Paul was walking with him in fear. He had a fear of God. He's walking in fear of God, but he feared for them, which is what I'm going to show you. He feared for them because they're their flesh in us. It wasn't overcoming. But I was with you in weakness and fear and much trembling, and my message and my preaching was not in persuasive words of wisdom. I wasn't taking the flesh to manipulate you, like we see a lot of it done today, but in demonstration of the spirit and the power that your faith, your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men. Do not never let your faith rest on men. Never let men be your source. You'll hear Jesus through men. Jesus is your source. Your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. Yet, now I want you to watch very carefully. Paul said, now here is a big statement, folks. Yet, since I, Paul wasn't boasting about it, but Paul did have a little intellect, didn't he? Yet, since all of these things are mine, you know, that is what he's saying, since I could do this, I haven't been doing it. But yet, I want you to know, above everything else, that I've come to speak wisdom to those who are, what? Mature. Now, let me tell you something. Now, look at me. Can I tell you what? This Bible is written to be understood, and it's not for people to be understood for people who walk after flesh. Amen? Then I'm going to have understanding. Now, he said, I've got some thing to say, and it's far the mature. I've got some things you need to know, but I fear for you while you're there in the flesh, and you can't receive it, because when you repent, you have to have a starting point, don't you? Is that right? What do you repent from? The flesh is hostile to God. It doesn't subject itself to the law of God, and Jesus came to fulfill the law. Is that correct? So, obviously, what you repent from is your heart loving in the flesh. Is that right? So, what becomes of that? You're going to make mistakes, and say, if you make mistakes, you go to sacrifice. Immediately, is that right? But what are you doing? Following Jesus is overcoming, right? It's overcoming, and being led to the Spirit of God, you put to death the deeds of the flesh, Romans 8, 13. Well, you have to put the deeds of flesh to death, or you will still be hostile and not subject yourself to the word of God. Is that right? So, then, if you're led to the Spirit of God, you're no longer under the law, because you fulfilled the law. That's what Jesus came to do through us. So, but he's saying right there, that I've got something to say to mature folks. Because, look what he said, verse 7. But we speak God's wisdom. It is a mystery. It is hidden wisdom. What he's trying to tell them, flesh can't see this. It can't hear it, it can't understand it. Flesh will look at this one way, but it's meaning something totally different. And he says to them in verse 12, Now we have received, we don't have the spirit of the world, but we have the spirit that's from God. That we might know the things that's freely given to us by God. And you have to grow near to God. You have to resist the devil. You have to cleanse your hands. You have to purify your heart. This is how you grow near to God. To humble yourself before him. Amen? Because it's only the flesh part of you that wants to be proud. And when you're proud, you want to be jealous. When you're proud, you want to be, see, when you have jealousy and envy, that's just a symptom of another root there. Amen? You've got another root besides Jesus. Now, verse 13. Which things, which things we speak, and they're not taught in words by human wisdom. Don't look to the word of God as being something that's intellectual. Now, on the other hand, God does give, obviously to Paul, he does give revelation intellectual, but he does not speak all his wisdom through the intellectual. You understand? It's whosoever will. And there's any partiality, you're walking in sin. When you ever show partiality, you're breaking the law. James 2 tells you. He says, I don't want to know anything except Jesus Christ, because that's the only thing I care about. And it's a whosoever will gospel. Now, the things I'm trying to teach you is not taught in human intellect. So don't look at me and look for cleverness of speech, because when I have cleverness of speech, you're looking at me and you're not looking at Jesus. It's all come to the revelation and grace of God. Are you all hearing this? So who do you, he's talking to a bunch of fleshy people, he's scaring over them. So I said to them, but it's the word, these words are taught by the spirit of God. It's not taught by man. We can proclaim this with them. And I want you to know that the spirit of God is the one that teaches it, right? Combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. When we have the spiritual words, who do you think talks to you when you read the Bible? I sit there and I'm amazed. I used to get ahold of something and all of a sudden I get ahold of some revelation and I just almost jump out of my chair and run. And all of a sudden right behind it would come a little thought that being a little fantasy to show me how I could go get glory with it. Show me how I could go show it to someone else and show them, boy, and see, I took the revelation of God and immediately the powers of darkness trapped me and wanted to show me how to go get revelation from, get glory from my flesh. Then the revelation got shut down. That's the kind of test you go through all the time before God. He'll try to show you something and immediately right behind it, the enemy will test your mind. And then that, you've got a little pride right there. They'll shoot that thought in there. Am I telling the truth? Yeah. And right behind it, every time God will show you something, they'll show you a little fantasy. Some people you can go get their approval and try to get lifted up. You're not going to share the word where you can get glory for Jesus. You want it for yourself. And right then it's shut down. That's all you've got. Your heart's wrong. Your motive's wrong. Amen? Same thing when you go read the Bible there and you see something and say, well, we don't do this. And then a little, they shoot you a little thought right there. You start thinking about it and they shoot you a little thought. Well, if that were so, Dr. Brown would know about that. Well, see? And then you say, well, you know, that's right. Look how, look how cleverness of speech this, that man is. And so, and everything. So you get shut down there. You don't get led in all truth. This is where you stay in bondage with ungodly doctrines and ungodliness and everything. Because Dr. Brown's You're going to let Dr. Brown lead you in all truth. The Spirit of God can't lead you nowhere. That's why you got a foolish heart. That's why you're in a fire. That's why you're in torment and misery. That's why you never see God do nothing. So verse 14, now the natural man, the natural man, it means the flesh wisdom of the world. Intellect. It does not accept the things of the Spirit. Now I can just tell you that again. The intellect does not accept the things of the Spirit. As a matter of fact, see that's just plain old flesh. And I'm just going to read something out here in Galatians 5, 17. The flesh, it sets its desire against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh, for these are in opposition to one another. I want you to know that human intellect, I want you to know that human flesh wants to be king. It wants to run the show. Now, when you've got the mind of Christ, you're going to have the wisdom of God. I don't care what kind of status you're in. When you're hearing from God, you're hearing from God. You miss a few aints or izzies, putting it out. What's that got to do with it? It says, God is God. Amen. God didn't make it in cleverness of speech if you had to explain something, did he? See, in other words, let me just give you a little, just throw something out there. The word is not chained to the pulpit anymore, unless you want it to be. But the natural man, natural man, the intellect, he doesn't accept the things of the Spirit, for they're what? They're foolishness to him. You don't love the flesh. There is foolishness to him. That's the reason the flesh always opposes the spiritual. And he what? What's those two words? He can not understand them. Why? Because they're spiritually placed and it takes the Spirit of God to interpret it. Is that right? Ain't that right? So, he's trying to tell these folks here a thing. Hold your place right there and turn away. Well, you know, I'm going to read this. I'm just going to go to chapter 3 first, okay? He's telling them right there. Now, he said, you've been called. Many are called, but few are what? Chosen, isn't it right? Now, you've been called, and what is Galatians 5, 16, says that you've been called, you've been chosen to bear much fruit and then your fruit remain. Ain't that right? You've been called out of the world, not to act like the world. You don't walk soft and act the world. So, he tells the bear in 1 Corinthians 3 verse 1, and I brethren, I can't speak to you as what? I can't speak to you as spiritual men, but the way I have to talk to you is what? Men of the flesh. You're men of the flesh. Now, in other words, look at me. He says, you better come on. If you're babes in Christ, you better come on. Now, I'm going to show you in a minute where you're feared for them. Now, babes in Christ, you have to start somewhere. There has to be grace to bring you on. Is that right? You have to receive reproof and discipline or you're an illegitimate child. You're not a son of God. Is that the way you're going to tell them? We see that in Hebrews 12. If they don't receive reproof and discipline, ain't that right? They're men of flesh. If they don't receive reproof and discipline, then come on and let by the Spirit of God, they're illegitimate. Is that right? Okay. Then he says in verse 2, I give you milk to drink. I can give you solid food. I've got some things to say to you. I want to teach you. You need to know some things. I have some things I want to say to you, but you're not yet, you can't receive it. Some of you ought to be teachers. And you sit there and you just count and gather it around and suddenly think you're already alive. I fear for you. You better not fall away. You better not let your heart harden to resist the word of God. Indeed, now you're not even in it. Now, he said, I want to ask you something. You are still fleshy. I don't want to show you why you're fleshy. Since there is what? Jealousy. There's jealousy here and there's strife among you. Folks, you always know that jealousy is not going to be there unless pride's there. Jealousy is not going to be there unless greed is there. These are kings. They're roots. They're the roots that take a place of Jesus being a root. Now, see, these are symptoms. I'm seeing some fruit here and I'm fearing for you. Now, folks, you better not gather around something and think you already arrived. You better not stop right here and build your structure right here. I'm trying to tell you some things. There's a bunch of things you don't know yet and I can't even tell you. They said to them, you're still fleshy. That jealousy and strife is among you. They said, are you not fleshy? Aren't you still just walking like mere men, like people in the world? That's the way you walk. You better come on. He goes over and tells them, he said, you and me slave, but you're going to have to come through the fire. You're going to have to come through there and be like gold and silver. You better not be wood, hay, and stubble. You're going to get burned up. I'm telling you folks, you're God's field and the seed of God better get in there. Wood, hay, and stubble. You're a slave just through fire. Because he turned around and said to them there, just hold your place there, 1 Corinthians 6, he was telling them over there. They had a man in there that was having an affair with his father's wife. And, you know, I guess they just kind of loving him in to something. And they told him there in 1 Corinthians 5, verse 13, he said, you remove this wicked man from yourself. Now everybody wants to make this man a slave because he was practicing sin. See, that's the way it is. You've got to change all the scripture to make him a slave. He said, get him over there. Throw him out of there. Because verse, in 1 Corinthians 5, verse 11, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he's them or a person, or covetous, or if he's a reviler, he's idolater. Don't even associate with them. Don't even eat with someone, eat a meal with someone like that. Now, he said in verse 10, I don't mean not to associate with them moral people of the world, but these brothers, it's them moral and everything, and they have all these things in their life. Those are the ones I say you stay away from. You stay away from them. Stay away from them. But the people in the world that's covetous, swindlers, and idolaters, you give me a testimony to them. And what I'm trying to tell you is that you folks have a problem with the flesh and you're boasting. I fear for you. Verse 6, 1 Corinthians 5, verse 6, you're boasting not good. Don't you know a little level, a little bit of sin is going to spread the whole lot, but don't let it flow over. In Hebrews 12, 15, it says, see that a root of bitterness doesn't spring up in someone and it's going to spread all over the whole place. And many will be defiled. Heaven's root of bitterness is defiled. If you've got bitterness, I'm going to tell you what you do, you're going to go be critical. Any of you that are critical, any of you have unforgiveness, you go tell others and you spread, you go turn your tail, you turn your tails loose on someone about somebody, whoever you're bitter about, you go, if it's against the pastor, you'll go over there and you'll go and start spreading until the powers of darkness get you an unforgiveness. And then the two of you go to four, then the four of you go to eight, and next thing everybody's walking out separate doors right there. Amen. You don't let leaven in there if you want the wall and piece of Jesus around there. That's the way you build the wall is deal with sin inside the wall. Amen. You have to deal with it. That's what your discipline is. So he said, verse five, this so-called brother, what I, he said, I've already, I've already decided. I know what the word of God said. It's already settled. There's nothing to think about or vote on. I've already decided you deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ. Get him out of there. Let him get into judgment. Separate from this love that he's seen, that he knows that there's a body of Christ laying there out there and the powers of darkness is tearing his head off. He may repent so that his spirit can be saved in the day of Christ. Because first Corinthians six, here's what I want you folks to know. Verse nine, don't you folks know that's got this strife and jealousy and fleshiness? Don't you know that you have a man right there in your congregation that's, that's, that's, that's going to bed with his father's wife and a healer don't even do that. And he's right there in your church doing it. You're putting up the thing. I want you folks to know there's a thing called judgment. And you either come through the fire or you're going to be destroyed by the fire. And then in first Corinthians six, verse nine, do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Don't sit back there and be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor idolaters, idolaters, is that, is that anymore a person? Affiliate, nor homosexuals, is that anymore a person? Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor druggers, nor revelers, nor swindlers. None of these are going to inherit the kingdom of God. Is that plain? Now, folks, you better straighten up, Corinthians. You better come to the light because, verse 11, these things such were some of you. Now, this is where you were. You're not there anymore. This man over here practices these things. He's not a repentant. He's on his way to hell. He's a so-called brother. Don't make him say. So it'll fit in such a total vision to make a structure work, a doctrine work of ungodliness. See, a doctrine of ungodliness can only look in the Bible and see what makes his doctrine, supports his doctrine because the doctrine's got his heart, not the gospel. He can't be led in all truth. That's, and that's what he's trying to warn him and tell him right here. He said, now you were some of these things, but you were what? You were worse. Well, how are you worse? You cannot be worse by the word of God when some structure or doctrine has your heart or some person or anything in this world idols. The only way you can have your heart washed from all of these things is to love Jesus more than you do anything else. Because if you don't love Jesus more than anything else, you won't give it up. And if you won't give it up, you can't be worse. Is that plain? That's the reason Jesus has to be Lord over your whole heart. Now, that's not too complicated, is it? Now, he said, why do you call me Lord, Lord, not do what I say? If he's Lord, he's Lord. He's going to know be a fruit. And so I'm warning you, such were some of you, but you were worse, but you were sanctified. Now, when you get worse, you get your heart cleansed of all the rebellion and separatists, then that's sanctification, isn't it? You're sanctified in Jesus and your walk of salvation is sanctified, right? But you're justified. You're justified when you're sanctified because you become a doer of the law. Romans 2. Now, what did he say in verse 18? He said, you better flee just as hard as you can from alcohol immorality, right? Now, I don't tell you. Now, can't you just see the devil telling a church, a bunch of people like this. Now, you're the pattern. Now, can't you just see him? You've already arrived just like you are right now. Now, what you need to do is look back these other folks that don't know what you are and get them to be like you. Now, that's what the powers that are. People get a little get a little place and get a little truth and the powers that I can get them to give it around. And they want everybody wants to be the pattern. They don't want Jesus to be the pattern of the book of Acts or something like that. They want to be the pattern because they're by flesh wants to compare itself among itself and measure itself by itself. Well, let me tell you about that gelatinous. Right. I want you to turn with me. To First Corinthians 13, we're going to go over just a little further. He's still talking to the Corinthians. I don't want you to see what he says to me. Now, now, now, folks, are you understood? I want you to clearly understand today that this scripture that I have showed you right there in First Corinthians 3 is used to justify rebellion to God, to counsel rebellion to God, to the exclusion that Ephesians 5, 5, that you can know for certain that those who practice these things are not going to enter in the kingdom of God and into the exclusion of the next verse right there. Do not be deceived with empty words. And we know because of these things, the wrath of God comes to the exclusion of Colossians 3, 5 through 8, that when you practice these things and don't give them up, you've got to idle in your heart because Jesus, you're you're loving this sin more than you are Jesus. So you can't be worse from it. It's idolatry. And that's Colossians 3, 5 clearly tells you when you don't give it up, you are practicing idolatry. And when you practice them, this is how it hardens your heart. And when your heart gets hardened, that's a sin unto death. And then there's no sacrifice for you. You see what I mean? You harden your heart. You keep resisting, resisting God so you won't come to life. Amen. If we see in John 3, 19 to 21, that if you belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, you will come to life. Is that right? So now he's telling them, you see, but these scriptures is taken out of there, like over in Romans 7, where Paul is telling that he's practicing the things he doesn't want to do. He said, I do the very things I hate. I agree with the law, it's spiritual, but you see, I'm not able to do it. But who's going to, wretched man am I am, who's going to set me free from this body of death or this body of sin and death? That's what the gospel is all about, if you ever notice to read it. But wouldn't it be nice if you were the devil to get your little powers of darkness to come over and get someone to build a doctrine around 1 Corinthians? And then get it, get it, and then build it around 1 Corinthians and Romans 7 and John 3, 16, and leave out John 3, 36. Don't put that in there. Okay, it says, if you believe in the Son, you have eternal life. But if you don't obey the Son, the wrath of God remains on you. See, if you don't obey the gospel, the wrath, leave that, exclude that. But come here and get tunneled, build your structure, and then you have tunnel vision. And anytime anybody ever reads the other part of the Bible, be offended. And that way Jesus becomes a stumbling block in the wrath of the sin. To your doom, to your doom. Pick up, and then see, when, when, then when you've got this structure built, then you go and get little kids from the time you bring people up in it, and teach them to get it, their heart. Have it to get their heart. And then when it gets their heart, they cannot be led into all truth. Because you're taught to bow to the, to the, uh, the image of the beast. You know what ungodly doctrine, you know what that is? That's the image of Satan. Because you walk in it, and you'll be, you'll be the manifestation of Satan. You'll look like a lamb, but you'll speak as a dragon. And that's what happens when you walk after the flesh. The flesh is all the nature of Satan. So you speak, and so when your heart loves the flesh, and you justify it, you've got some kind of a image of the beast that just, that's babbling. And that's once again in those, uh, babbling tapes there that I tell you about. So this is what happens. And then, so now you come along, you get in a structure like this, and you get in this thing where you justify rebellion of God. And then somebody comes along with these other scriptures right there, and tell them and say, you just don't know the Greeks. You believe in sinless perfection, or these kind of things. And come up with controversial questions. Do you believe that all sickness is sin? Do you believe, do you believe that, uh, demons are behind every bush? You've gone over the deep end. And you just, oh I just happened to think about something. I remember where it's, yeah, uh, yeah. Jesus. Boy, I tell you what, it's so good. I'm telling you, God is so good. I'm telling you, the spirit of God is so good. I'm telling you what, I tell you what, now anymore, I, I think God, I've learned because now, I just, when I read the Bible and everything, I used to think, boy, you know, I said little thoughts up there, boy, I sure have tied that together and everything. And you know, and when I just come to find out, it's God talking me to tell me where to say it, and what to do it, and everything. See, I just sit back, and I get these things, and then I just shake my head, and, and, and think, and I say, you know, I just think, God, why, why you ever, I, I, I, I, I receive it. I'm not against it, but I don't understand it. I don't know why I get to see it. I don't, but I, and I'll tell you, I do it. I do it, and I do it, and I do it, and I'm gonna keep doing it. The more I do it, the more I get, and I can't hardly stand it. So, he told them, if you got your Bibles, turn to Matthew 15. Now, I'll show you what a bunch of people in tradition. How, how Jesus, now, when Jesus shows up on the scene, I'll show you how that. Now, the first thing, when people have ungodly doctrines, and some, what, what part of them is, they always make it look good. They're, they're cleaning outside the cup, so the inside is full of self-indulgence. There's a white sulfur full of dead men's bones. Isn't that right? You'd read it in the marketplace, and see, amen? I mean, they're kings. So, that's flesh. You always make an outside, and cleaning up the outside. And so, this is the way that religious crowd did there, in chapter 15, verse 1. Then, some Pharisees and scribes, they came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying, why don't your disciples, why don't the church there, why does the church here transgress, why do you transgress the tradition of our elders? I mean, but you don't, you don't act like us. What, what are you, what are you breaking our traditions for? Because y'all don't wash your hands when you eat bread. You don't make it outside look good. And Jesus asked them, boy, I'm telling you, boy, I could jump when I read this. And he answered and said unto them, and, and why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? You snakes. Look in verse 14, it said, let them along. They're blind guides of the blind. If a blind man guides a blind man, both are going to fall in the pit. Do you see what I mean? Now, folks, let's make something clear right here, right now. This is what always gets in the message like that, and I used to not have the wisdom to know how the devil would do this. I am not touching people because I have been deceived along with everyone else, but I am touching these ungodly, unrighteous systems and doctrines, and the people who will not turn and hold people in bondage like that. I want to tell you, they're just playing out family of the devil who wants to be king. Amen? So we see now. So while we're there in, look, look, look, look with me in 1 Corinthians 13. Now, he said, you folks have got this strife and jealousy. You've got this strife and jealousy among you. He said, uh, what, what, what, what, what, what, does strife and jealousy break the law? Look at me. Strife and jealousy, that breaks the law, doesn't it? Okay, now, let me ask you, did Jesus say he come to fulfill the law? How did he come to fulfill the law? In love. Well, how does he do it? The Spirit of God leads you to put to death all selfishness, and then the love of God is left, and that's not that flesh compassion. That's not that perverted grace that has that perverted love. Amen? That perverted love today speaks blessings and curses. So look at him, what he said to them there. In the very same 1 Corinthians, he said now, verse 4, love is patient, love is kind, love is jealous. Now, what is he trying to tell them? He said, love is not jealous. You, he went on to explain to them, said, you, you fleshy much, you're not walking where you need to walk. Let's go on and see. It, it doesn't brag, y'all, you're a boastful, you know, he talked to them over and over, you're in the flesh and you're boasting. Is that right? It is flesh, uh, love is not arrogant, it doesn't act but comely, it doesn't speak its own, it's not provoked, it doesn't take to account a wrong suffered. This is a God kind of love. You don't have that kind of love. It doesn't rejoice in unrighted, it rejoices only in the truth, it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all the things, and it endures to the end, it endures all things. Amen? Love endures because love is not thinking about self. Love never fails. Now look at him in verse 1, he said, if I speak with the tongues of men, if, if you just want to take a gift and make, make it all and wrap it and gather around a gift, the tongues of men but do not have love, if you don't have love, where do you think it comes from? You become a noisy throng or a slinging cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy, let's say I have gifts, and I know mysteries of knowledge, and if I have the faith, so to remove them out, if you don't have love with it, I tell you what you are, you're zero in the real mouth of it, you're nothing. If I, if you, let's just say, if you just go ahead and take everything you own, take all your possessions, feed to the poor, and you deliver your body to be burned, and you don't have this love of God, which Jesus has come to fulfill, it's going to profit you nothing, because you don't have a sanctified heart. You have not overcome, you have not endured to the end, you're trying to find a shortcut to it. I'm going to tell you, he's going to, Jesus said, whoever wishes to come after me, he's going to take up his cross and follow me. Now folks, you're looking at what jealousy, love is not jealousy. Now that's perverted, that's perverted grace, that's when grace gets perverted, that's the kind of love comes out, people are jealous, and that's what he's talking about over in James 3, you're speaking blessings and curses, and I'll tell you what you folks are, your motive's all wrong, you don't get your parents' help, you bite and devour one another, you attack each other, you're, you're, you're harlot! He said, I'm telling you, you're idolatrouses! He said, you better humble yourself, you better submit to the whole counsel of God and start resisting that devil. You come and draw near to God, clean your hands, your sinners, and purify your hearts to double money, so that you can be healed, he tells them over there later on. Compassion sends one another, you be healed, get everything right! Amen? You know what I'm going to stop and do? I'm going to stop and show you what a congregation like this, see when you got pride, you're jealous, you understand what I mean? When you got kings of flesh, jealousy is around, and when, when your king has jealousy all over the place, whatever's going through you, whatever he's going through, the shepherd or the head or the leadership, it gets all over the church. I'm going to tell you what, if you let that man, if you'd let these pastors stop and get them waiting tables, and I'm going to tell you if you'd let him get in the Word and stay in the Word instead of serving flesh and have to show up to the hospital three times a day, we ought not to be there in the first place. And, you know, we write that prayer of a righteous man, and so we're just going to have to go up there and all these things that they have to do and everything, if they'd stay in the Word, and they could hear from God, so they could just really get the legion here from God, and everybody else is in the Word, their peace is going to be, see this? I'm going to tell you what these people want from me, I'm telling you what, they, they, I mean, they do back flips trying to keep things from getting to me. They want me in the Word. Boy, it's fun when I stay in the Word. It really is, and this is what they're learning. Isn't that right, Marvin? Amen, brother, and it just, when I'm in there and they come, boy, come back, so I stay in the Word all the time. I'm, I'm not waiting tables. I mean, there's more of the body of Christ. I've only got one part, and I'm not going to be the whole thing. I'm not going to build nothing around myself. I don't need to be a king. I'm looking for light. Amen? So then, I just want to give you an example now of what a congregation, what a bunch of people, religious folks that gather around pride and around something like this said, now, now look with me over there in Acts 13. I want to show you how jealousy works now. I want to show you if you, if you've got pride, I want to show you how the root of pride moves jealousy, what it does. See, and this is how the powers of darkness manipulate people. Now, Acts 13, now, you know, we've been seeing how people get free from sin, how they get freed from the powers of darkness, and you're not free from the powers of darkness if you're not free from sin. So we saw in verse 36, Acts 13, Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Jesus, everyone who believes is freed from all things, which you couldn't be freed through the law of Moses. Of course, when you die of the flesh, you die to the law of Moses, don't you? You die of the law, isn't that right? Okay, now take heed, therefore, so that the things spoken of in the prophets may not come upon you. Now, I believe I covered that in this, this fabulous series, but I don't have time to run, but let me tell you what that thing coming on that the prophets are talking back through there is the powers of darkness. Now, they're the ones that keep you being freed and said you better take heed that this thing, just marvel about this and perish, because scoffers and mockers walk after the lust of flesh, we see in Jude 18, and so scoffers and mockers, you're going to malt and scoff about what I'm telling you about, because they don't know what's happening to them. They're asleep, and they can't, they're not going to wake up. So you scoffers, you just marvel at them, for I'm accomplishing a work in your days, a work which you'll never believe, scoffers and people like the flesh are not going to believe this, though someone described it to them. They cannot unsee it, the natural mass, because it's foolishness to them. There's a demon of jealousy behind jealousy. There's a demon of pride behind pride. Flesh, it's already got pride in it. Flesh, the heart already loves pride, and they come to use that pride to manipulate it and use it for the purposes of Satan, to attack the work of God or whatever. And so when your heart's aggrieved by pride, brother, you've got them living with you. So he said, and now these folks just like this message, I mean, they got to find out what had them bound up, and then verse 42, and Paul and Barnabas was going out, and the people kept, they were begging him, they were begging him, Paul, Paul, Barnabas, please don't leave town, please don't go from here, Paul and Barnabas, they were begging that these things might be spoken to them the next Sabbath. Now, Paul, we want to hear more about that. We want to have more, we like that, we want to hear more about that. Now, scoffers didn't understand it. That's a religious crowd right there. Religious crowd are always scoffers, amen? Okay, and now verse 43, now when the meeting of the synagogue, we've got to get broke like that, that's what they call it back in Benton, when the meeting broke up, many of the Jews and the God-fearing prophets, as they called it, Paul and Barnabas, who were speaking to them, were urging them to continue in the grace of God. Now, I want to ask you something, why don't you look at me right here. Now, folks didn't pay too much attention to me. I mean, it's just like a fly flew by or something like that until some crowds began showing up. And then when the crowds began coming, now, I'll tell you what, in most places that I go to now, there are certain churches that call other, and you'd think Hitler had moved in. They warn about me. I come to read the Bible, and I'm asking, now you show me where I'm wrong, and I'll come to light. That's not it. You've gone off the deep end. They see the name of a cult, all kinds of things like that. People I don't even know, I never even met them, they're experts. Now, I'm not saying this to attack them, I bless them in Jesus' name. I know what's behind it. See, I know who's behind it. But see, that's who were behind the Pharisees. Now, why would certain folks, wouldn't it be good to find out the person telling the truth? Because, see, when you start getting crowds, you start getting nickels, noses, and numbers. And if you're saying something that tears down the kingship of flesh, brother, you're tearing down kingdoms. So you've got to be stopped, amen? Well, how are you stopped? Controversial questions. The same thing at 1 Timothy 6, 3 through 5. You have to get in disputes, and then you use fear and intimidation to pick out something you said, and use it to whip up on people and scare them to death. Now, I, you know, I've been in, you know, when I'm talking about, I just want, I want you to relate, I'm trying to relate some things to God. I'm not trying to point some things to a man. I just want to tell you some experiences. I've been getting all kinds of, well, not all kinds, but I've gotten several invitations, you know, be on television programs, you know, and religious networks and things across the country. But most always, you know what it is? It's because I'm controversial. Well, see, if I go there because I'm controversial, now see, if I had it in my mind, if I go there and people can see me, then I can bring people to God. I can build up my ministry and build up my name. I take people there. Honey, that's the problem today. That's not the way it works. But if you can go somewhere and you can minister the Word, then see, you've got a different situation. If you can minister the Word of Jesus, then Jesus will get in it and He'll bless you because your motives are right in your heart. Amen? Well, now, all of a sudden, you know, I have had aversion to that, to the television because I've seen a lot of it and I've been around a lot of it, and I see it's a lot of makeup and a lot of acting and all that kind of stuff, and it just bothers me. I see it there to maybe make something look good, and I think while we're dressing up outside right there, we're not really pointing Jesus to the right Jesus. We're kind of like speaking in cleverness of speech, and we make the cross of Christ to no effect. Amen? But see, all of a sudden, because my heart, my motive was right about that, now we finished the video, and it's taken us months and months because it takes a lot of money to edit it and all this business, and so now this video, we got it through, and I didn't think much about it except the fact I knew I didn't want to start a television department. See, if you fight big ministry, now I'm telling you something, why don't you listen to me. We, every one of us, fight big ministry. We fight being big. Now, what we do, we are not an organization, we are an organism, and what we try to do is get people involved with us. The body of Christ involved with us, like in this video, this was the motives in our heart, and I'd already talked to them before this thing, I said, I'm not going to have a thing where I have to go pump and jack up money and everything to support and getting any bodies to any television thing, but all of a sudden, it's in my heart to do it. Now I had, where I just despised it before, now I want to do it. See, because it passed the test. God changed my heart. So now, what do you think happened? The other day, I'm going to have to tell one story. The other day, someone had said when we were up there at Tulsa, and he's connected with some people that's in North Carolina, and he said, I want to show that video up here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And he said, well, if you show it, brother, you're going to have to pay. Well, it didn't cost that much. It's surprising that it didn't run that much money anyway. But anyway, he showed it, and who's going to get the glory? It points to Jesus and people kind of responding to it and everything, but then he called back again, and he said, you know, I found out through the people in North Carolina that the company in California that sells time to the Playboy Network, they have this obscene, all that stuff on television there, that network, they sold them some time. And he said, I can get you, I can get, they got a couple of spots that I can get you and on over all over the country to hear that word. And I said, well, you know, immediately I thought, well, I'm not getting on nothing with Playboy. And then all of a sudden, it come to my mind about who are the six? Who are the six? Wouldn't it be something if sometime during the day, they listened to that and I could got to, it'd be something if I could get to teach them about fornication before it got dark at night, wouldn't it? And so he said, but brother, he said, I want to tell you something. Well, I said, you know something? I said, that sounds pretty good too. And you know what I know about something? When I got out there and started and all this thing, I told Carlos Day, I don't even know how to go file nothing. I don't even know how to file nothing. I have to learn some things. See, I don't know. I took carpet cleaners and you know, but I mean, Lord teaches me. And so, and then he said, well, brother, he said, I can't afford to, I can't afford to take care of this one. I said, well, dear me, you know, he's talking about old country and so forth like that. And then he said, well, how much it going to cost? And he gave me a great big old figure there and everything, you know, and I thought, well, no, sir, I'm not, I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to do that. I'm going to have to jack and I'm going to have to have to get away from word. I'm going to have to go jack up and and everything and pump up and everything. Now where I can do that, you know, and I said, boy, I'll let you know, I'll pray about it. And so, you know, I hung up that phone and I had talked to another man there in Texas and all of a sudden I found myself here. See, I wasn't manipulating. I just learned. I said, you know, you know what happened to me a while ago? I had an opportunity to get on that thing all over the country and I could get on that thing and all I need is a certain amount of money. And, uh, and I said, uh, and if I could got on all of, you know, next day he called me back and said, we got the money and see folks, you know what I, you know, I talked to him again. I said, now see, brother, see, I don't have that burden. I'm not the whole body on Christ. I've got a part right there in me that glorify Jesus. And it doesn't, you know what I mean? And so the body of Christ is getting that way with it. Fight anything that centers around you. Fight it all the time. And then your motives are right. I'm telling you a little secret. God will work with you all over the place. Amen. It's the spirit of God that makes it work. Well, here we got playboy in this thing. I don't know. Well, it's already in it. Well, we were talking about the crowds. They get jealous of crowds. They get jealous of nickel, doves, and numbers because of pride. Now look at verse 45. And here they are, when this religious crowd, when these Jews saw the what? There's these nickels, doves, and numbers. They were filled with what? Jealousy. Who do you think's talking to them? Who do you think's stirring them up right there? Jealousy. And they began contradicting the things spoken by Paul and they were blaspheming. Now let me ask you something. Do you believe those others over there, is it the same jealousy they had over in 1 Corinthians 3? Do you think they'll begin contradicting the things of the Lord if they practice jealousy? Absolutely. So they began contradicting the Word of God which was spoken by Paul. That's what jealousy does. Is that what your Bible says? They contradict the Word of God then, they do it today. So Paul and Barnabas, they spoke out boldly. They didn't go high and they said it was necessary that the Word of God should be spoken to you first, but since you repudiate the Word of God and you contradict the Word of God, you judge yourself unworthy of eternal life. Now that's what ungodly doctrines will do for you. You'll judge yourself unworthy of eternal life because what does 2 Timothy 2 say? Now look at me, look at me. 2 Timothy 2 says, a form of godliness is what will lead you to the fruit of lovers of self, lovers of money, unloving, boastful, arrogant, and that sort of thing. That's what a form of godliness does. And it denies the power of the Word. I'm not talking about signs and wonders because people pray for the sick and they don't see them get healed and they see somebody that don't pray for the sick and they look at them and they don't see that they're the same way with a form of godliness. So see, they're ever learning, they're never able to come to the knowledge of the truth with a form of godliness and they oppose the truth and that's exactly what that's all about. They oppose the truth because that jealousy, pride, lover of self, lover of money, that form of godliness, that ungodly doctrine has got them opposing the truth and they can't see the truth. It's a veil in front of their eyes. It's a stumbling block. Idols are. So what do they say next? Verse 48, Now here's the other bit. When the Gentiles, they heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying who? The Word of the Lord, didn't he? And then verse 49, and the Word of the Lord was what? Being spread through the whole region. Now that's what we want to do. That's what our motives are, to spread the Word of God. Amen? Get the truth. Amen? So now, but here this religious crowd is. They're not through it. They've got to stop this Word being spread. So what's this religious crowd that's jealous? What do they do? Then these religious crowd, these Jews, they start arousing women of prominence. Boy, if you ever want to stop a move of God, always not. Now look at me. Let me show you who devout women of prominence are. Devout women of prominence are important women. Oh, dear me, yes. After the flesh. They might even speak in cleverness of speech. Of course, Paul said, I don't know nothing about you, but except Jesus Christ cares about you. Jesus Christ is Lord, yes. But here's devout women. So the religious crowd hollers, come in here, devout women. Women of prominence, come here. And we want to get somebody else going. All you leading men, come forward. Who's the leading men? Oh, important men. Oh, doggies. Here comes all important folks. Intellect, academic, headquarters. Here they are. And they said they arouse these women of prominence, these leading men of the city. And they get them all together because flesh likes to follow prominent folks and prominent leading men, don't they? That's what flesh looks up to. So the way you get flesh lined up is get the devout women of prominence and get your leading men together, and they're in the flesh, and so flesh controls flesh, right? Flesh follows flesh. So what do they do right there? They get them and they instigate the persecution. They instigated the persecution against Paul and they drove him smack out of the district. But Paul and them didn't get the molly grubs because that's when you get blessed. So they shook off the dust of feet and protested against him. They went to a convent and a sabbath. Here they were. They were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. That's when you get it. Amen. I was in a church down there in Houston, the biggest one I ever been into. And I was in there and a couple of fellas come over to me and said the pastor had talked to them. And he had said that they didn't think I'd show them a lot of love. Well, I knew something about the pastor. He up there upstairs, he had him steam bath and one of these whirling things. And while he's sitting up there and he'd hear me teach them up there and he'd run around the road with gold cuff links on. I didn't expect him like what I think. So what they was bringing me a message for, they bring me a little bit. There was, you know, just to kind of water it down a little bit. You can stay here that second week. So I was supposed to be in there two weeks. And so when I hear that, I just doubled up on it. This was on about Friday night and Saturday, it's sold us out. They're right in the middle of the thing. Sold us out and I got blessed. I shook my dust off first though. Praise God forevermore. Now, I want to ask you, how many of you see what jealousy is? Jealousy means there's another root beside Jesus in there. If you've got jealousy, you've got a root of pride. You've got a root of greed. Are you hearing what I'm saying? You've got another king. Another king's got to hold your heart instead of King Jesus. You're not doing as unto the Lord. You're doing as unto selfishness. Your heart is still inside that selfish, self-centered place. You're not putting it to death. And you gather around something, you find a false security, you walk in rebellion to God's word and you judge yourself unworthy of eternal life because you repudiate and contradict the word of God. And God doesn't bless ignorance. So now, let me just see what he says about these things. Now, I want you to turn with me. Now, can you see how this... Are you already seeing how this Romans, 1 Corinthians 3, strive jealousy as used to people to practice sin? Hold up your hand. How many of you know that's used and then used over and wrong instead? Well, see, now, we got some more light and we found out there's been a mistake made by a lot of people. Would you think they'd come to light? No. The kings are too jealous. Too much pride. Don't come to light. So, look there in Romans 13. Tell you what, you know what I love? I love to see people's heart turn to Jesus. I'm jealous of your heart with a godly jealousy. I'm telling you, folks don't like it when somebody comes... See, I will tell you what my part is. My part is to tear down idols and sin in your heart, folks. And if you won't come to the word of God, you either got to get mad or let it... You've got to get mad or repent. Now, that's what flesh does. You stay in the flesh, you get upset. Well, that's what the word of God does. It sanctifies the congregation. Amen. So, in Romans 13, we see there in verse 12, we looked at this before that tonight is almost gone. The day is at hand. Let us therefore lay aside what? When you come to the Lord Jesus Christ, you lay aside the deeds of darkness. Now, when you lay aside all the deeds of the flesh, you reckon it all dead. You put on the armor of light that no more of these things of jealousy, pride, anger, hate, unforgiveness, and so forth like that will get down in your heart right there. You stop it in your mind. You take every thought captive to be this of Jesus. You tear down strongholds of imagination. Every thought that exalts itself will get the word of God. That God in your Bible in 2 Corinthians 10, 3-5 to do, not analyze. You don't intellectualize it. You do it. And that's what the Spirit of God leads you to do because let us behave properly. In 1 Peter 2, it says that you're going to be holy in all your behavior. You're no longer conformed to your former lust. But let us behave properly in the day, not in carousing, drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity, sensuality, and not in what? Not in what? Uh-oh! Not in strife and jealousy. We found out this was over in 1 Corinthians 3. Since I do it, I've had more people tell me, What about those folks over in 1 Corinthians 3? Well, I'm not through with them yet. But it says right there that you lay aside the deeds of strife and jealousy. And look in verse 14. And you pull on the Lord Jesus Christ and you make no provision for strife and jealousy. You make no provision for the flesh in regards to its lust. Is that what your Bible says? So it's not good to stop in 1 Corinthians 3 and build your structure, is it? And jump over in Romans 7. Because these are doctrines that please men. They please flesh. And when you please men and please flesh, you leave out the judgment of God out of the Scripture. And you never know what the fire is. You never know what the fire of judgment is. You never know what it is that comes to go, if it looks like go, because you remain wood and stubble. You don't know what it means to be saved that's through the fire because you don't deal with the judgment of God. Ungodly doctrine doesn't know what the fire is because when the flesh is in agreement with the devil, you don't oppose him, do you? Because you know why you don't oppose him? You don't know where he is. He's got you. All right, now. So you lay aside. Now, I want you to look with me in Galatians 5. Galatians 5. Galatians 5. All right, now. Verse 19. Now, the deeds of the flesh. Now, we already said, verse 18. Well, let's look at verse 16. It said, I say walk with the Spirit and you will not carry out the deeds of what? Flesh. If strife and jealousy are the deeds of the flesh, you're not going to carry it out because the law, strife and jealousy breaks the law. Is that right? All right, then you look at verse 18. But if you're led by the Spirit of God, you're no longer under the law because you're no longer breaking the law because you're fulfilling the law. Now, it goes furthermore and said, verse 19. Now, the deeds of the flesh are evident. In other words, the fruit of rebellion are evident. That's the fruit over there. And in Matthew 7, it's going to come and say, Lord, Lord, in the last days. He said, I don't know you. Because false preachers are going to lead them to bear this fruit. The false prophets. When inwardly a ravenous wolf, their hearts are going toward greed and pride and they're going to exploit congregations and make them comfortable in the flesh so they can be their kings if they can choose through the Word of God. Isn't that plain? So it says there. Now, wouldn't it be good to get on television all over the country? Amen? Now, the deeds of the flesh, they are evident. You can see the fruit of rebellion. Which are? Here is the fruit of rebellion, which is impurity, immorality, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, imitism. What are those two words? I can't hear you. There is strife and jealousy. Oh, look at verse 21. "...Indian, drunken and things like this, strife and jealousy which I forewarn you, just how forewarn you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." Is that what your Bible says? Then there is more Bible besides 1 Corinthians 3 and Romans 7, aren't there? Obviously, we found that out. But you gather around intellect, you gather around academic, you can't speak Greek and you don't know anything about hermeneutics and you start bounding all these things. Who is your king? Huh? Blind leads to blind. You get to go to the pit because you made somebody king besides King Jesus. Look at verse 21. "...Those who belong to Jesus Christ have crucified strife and jealousy with their passion and desire." Can I tell you that jealousy and strife are not going to help them? I'm going to read this real quick right here. It's a piece of fire. "...For this you know with certainty, no immoral person, no impure person, no covetous man who is an idolater has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ. Let no one deceive you, let no one deceive you, let no one deceive you of the empty word because of these very things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience." And we've always seen in Colossians 3, 5, consider the members of your earthly body, you're dead to immorality, you're dead to impurity, you're dead to passion and evil desire, you're dead to greed. All of these things amount to idolatry when you practice them and it's on account of these things, the wrath of God is going to come. And then you also, you once walked, you once walked when you were living but now you put them all aside. You put aside anger, you put aside wrath, you put aside malice, you put aside slander, you put aside abusive speech, you put all of these things away from your mouth. Amen? Strife and jealousy is right there in things like these. So, fear the arm. When you practice something, you make an idol out of it and as Paul said, I'm fearing for the whole bunch of you in the flesh. Now some of you are being worshiped and some of you are not. You understand what I mean? Now I'm telling the rest of you, now I want you to turn with me to 2 Corinthians 12. 2 Corinthians 12. 2 Corinthians 12. Now, I want to ask you something. Is this a letter Paul wrote to him? All right. Do you think 1 Corinthians might have been the first letter? Well, it's over in 2 Corinthians, isn't it? Do you know what he said down there in verse 13? He said, this is the third time I'm coming to you. He said something over in 1 Corinthians 3. Then he had some more things to say later. If you stop at 1 Corinthians 3, you might miss the rest of the Bible. You hear what I'm saying? So, this is what he said to him. Now, did he say, it's my third time I've come to you? Shake your head or something like that, will you? Why, this third time, and that's the first time I've told you this strife and jealousy and all this stuff was among you? All right, now, in 1 Corinthians, no, are you in 1 Corinthians or 2 Corinthians? That's what I thought. Okay, now, in 2 Corinthians 12, verse 20. But Paul said, I am, what is that word? All right, now, will you stop right there and whatever you're doing, and get a hold of your pencil and write fear. Paul says, I fear for you. I fear for you. Now, what did he say in 2 Corinthians 11? Now, hold your place. Hold your place. Look here, back in 2 Corinthians 11, see what he said right over here. He said, 2 Corinthians 11, verse 2, he said, I'm jealous for you. Now, I've got the right kind of jealousy, and you've got the wrong kind of jealousy, amen? He said, I'm jealous for you with a godly jealousy. Now, I have a godly jealousy. It's all right to have that kind of jealousy, but you have a flesh jealousy. I'm jealous for God that all your heart's blown to God, but see, I don't have a flesh jealousy that's going to belong to me or anything. I've got, I'm jealous for God. I get angry from God's point of view. I get jealous from God's point of view. But he said, I want to present you with a pure heart, as pure virgins, and here's what I'm afraid of. Verse 3, he said, I fear, I fear that lest as that serpent in the powers of darkness deceive thee, but get her to eat the lust of flesh, the lust of the eyes, and boast of pride, lest to eat off a tree of death, but his craftiness, your mind be led astray from the simplicity of having a pure heart, the purity of devotion to Christ, because you're going to follow, verse 4, another Jesus, you get a different gospel and you're led by a different spirit. He said, I, now what did he say? I fear for you. This is what the powers of darkness, jealousy, and all these things lead you away from, amen? So we see over there in 2 Corinthians 12, verse 20, but for I'm afraid, I fear, now this is third time, is this right? Third time he's going, I fear that perhaps when I come, I may find you to be not what I wish, and you may be found by you to be not what you wish, that perhaps there still may be what? That serpent, I fear, I fear for you that that serpent, jealousy, will still be there. I'm fearing for you that it's going to still be there. You see how the powers of darkness want you to take part of the gospel and gather around? I fear it's still going to be there. Look at him, he said, in verse 21, I am afraid. We'll see the other things, where the anger, temper, dispute, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disturbances, all these kind of things are not the fruit of the spirit. That's being led to the spirit of the devil. That's what he's talking about. If you get an ungodly doctrine, it doesn't conform you to Jesus, then that's where the powers of darkness move in. It's called doctrines of demons. They tell you that you can eat off the tree of death, as lust of flesh, as lust of the eye, and of boasts of thy life, and you surely shall not die. That's exactly what the powers of darkness said to Eve back in Genesis 3, verse, God said, if you eat off this tree, you surely shall die. And the serpent said in Genesis 3, verse 4, you can eat off this tree, and you surely shall not die. So Satan had a doctrine over there, and it hadn't changed today. So anyway, he said, I fear for you. And verse 21, I'm afraid, circle afraid, I fear again. I fear that when I come again, my God, I want to stop right there. Oh, before I read that, there's something else coming to mind. I want you to hold your place right there. Hold your place and turn over to James 3. Does he say to them in James 3, is everybody there? Now, you're holding your place in James 3, verse 8, but no one contain the tongue, it's restless evil and full of deadly poison. Verse 9, with the tongue you bless our Lord and Father, with your tongue you curse men. Now, that's slander and anger and all these things that's been made in the likeness of God. Now, from the mouth comes both blessing and cursing. My brethren, this is not the way it ought to be. Is that right? This is wrong. Now, over in James 1, it's already said, you double-minded people are not going to receive anything from God. Double-minded means your heart's going both ways. Is that right? Now, when this stuff is coming out of your mouth, look, it reveals this is the fruit of your heart when cursed. See, only blessings come out of your mouth because we already saw in Romans 7, you are adulterous if you walk this way. And see, you see it confirmed there in verse 4, chapter 4, 4, you are adulterous. See, when you walk out of the flesh, you're a friend of the world because flesh loves the world. Flesh doesn't live for heavenly things, it lives for earthly things, and that's where your heart is. So, what does he say about these blessings and curses that come out of your mouth? Verse 15, this wisdom... Now, we're in James 3, verse 15. This wisdom that you have right there is not that which comes from above. This doesn't come from the Lord, this doesn't come from heaven, but it's the world, and it's flesh, and it's all controlled by the demonic. Is that right? That's exactly what you were warned about over in 2 Corinthians 11. It said, you know, I want to present you as a pure virgin, but I fear for you. He said, I fear for you that you're going to get another gospel and you get another Jesus, and then you're going to continue to have this strife and jealousy. Is that right? Is that right? So, right here, you see an example of it. Right here, you're speaking these blessings and curses. Verse 15, he said, this wisdom is the world, flesh, and demonic. This is what the demons produce. Amen? Now, I want you to find out we can use that part of the gospel. Amen? So then, look in verse 16. First word, jealousy, and selfish ambition exists. There is disorder and every evil thing, and that's what we've been living in. See, did you see jealousy there? Do you see who's behind it? And then, that's taken out of 1 Corinthians 3 and says that you can practice strife and jealousy. Honey, you're not being led by the Spirit of God, and you continue on to your practice in sin. Amen? Because this only reveals that in your heart, you've got another root. You've got a fortress there, which is 2 Corinthians 10, 4. If you take the weapon of Jesus, you can tear it down. And if you keep on this way, you'll keep resisting the Word of God until your heart becomes hardened. Amen? And when your heart becomes hardened, you're going to descend unto death. You can't come to Word, you can't come to light. You're not led by the Spirit of God, and that's where the powers of darkness want to get behind. Doctrines that take part of the Word of God and lead you to this place, to harden your heart, to resist the Word of God and the Spirit of God. Amen? So, look what happens to him. Verse 1 Corinthians 3, were they having quarrels and conflicts? Absolutely. And so, what's the source of this? Source of quarrels and conflicts. Among you is not the source your flesh, which is waging wars in your memory. You walk in double minds. You're trying to walk both ways. You lust and you don't have your ways, so you commit murder, and you are envious, and you are jealous, and you can't obtain your way, pride, so you just fight and quarrel. You don't have, because you don't ask the Lord's way, and when you pray, you don't have your prayers answered, because you're praying, verse 3, with the wrong motive, because you want me to cooperate with you for the glory of your own selfless and self-centered flesh. And you don't ever hear from them. You don't get in. See, that's reading how to sit around and count each other. That's why you lay hands on a stick, and they do not recur, because over in James 5, it said, the effective prayer of a righteous man availeth much. That's reading, it said in chapter 4, that you better humble yourself. You better come and submit to the whole counsel of God, and resist the devil. It didn't say just resist the devil. It said, submit yourself to the whole counsel of God, and resist the devil. Didn't it say that? Draw near to God. You better leave this thing. You better start drawing near to God. You better cleanse your hands, your centers, and purify your hearts, and they're double-minded. And then you better mourn. You better cry. You better weep. And when you do these things, you're broken and repentant, then you can come into the presence of the Lord, and in the prayer of a righteous man availeth much. But see, right now, you're double-minded people, and you can use a quart of oil, and nothing's going to happen, right? Amen. So now we're back over there in 2 Corinthians. Is this pretty clear? So 2 Corinthians 12, verse 21, Paul said, I fear that when I come... What? What's that word? Again. See, that's strife and jealousy going there. I fear that when I come again, my God may humiliate me before you, and I may want you to mark it, mourn over many of you. He said, but you know what Paul said? I'll cry my eyes out if I come here and find y'all still in this strife and jealousy. I'm afraid, I fear coming, that when I come there, I'm going to still find this strife and jealousy, and it's going to cause... He said, I fear for you. I fear I'm going to cry my eyes out if it's still there among you. And I'm going to be humiliated. I'm just going to cry my eyes out for those of you who have sinned in the past, and you were sinning back in 1 Corinthians 3 when I've talked to you and told you about this. And you've not repented. You've not repented. You've not repented of this immorality. You've not repented of this sensuality. All these things which you have watched, practicing in a way, fear and farming. If they don't get turned around, they're going to hell. See, they've got a false security because they've got deceived. Did we always sin purity and morality and preaching 5-5, not going into heaven? Did we sin 1 Corinthians 6, 9-11? Such were some of you, but you've been worse from it. Do you see that they were keeping that man in the church in 1 Corinthians 5? And he said, get him on out there. He said, I've already decided. You know, I don't want to know what the Word of God does. Get that wicked man out. And from all indications, you know, this wicked man repented. And he said, you know, that is, don't let this, sorry, you know, you know, you don't, holy, don't you get any unforgiveness toward this man or anything like that. You know, you better watch your heart for not getting any unforgiveness. But you're going to have to show grace and forgiveness to people just like I forgive them, right? Or then Satan will get a hold on you, right? But at the time right there, when he put out, I'm going to tell you what, if you're not overcoming, if you're not led by the Spirit of God, if you're not Spirit led by the Spirit of God, you're in rebellion to God. Amen? So you're not coming to light. And we already see the ones that do evil, hate the light. We already saw that in the ones that love Jesus, come to light. Is that right? So he said, now, y'all are clear right there. He said, now this strife and jealousy, I'm afraid I'm going to find it there. When I get there and I find this thing, you're going to find me not what you wish. Because when I come there, I'm going to tell you just exactly what God has said to say about this. And I'm afraid when I come there, I'm not going to find you what I wish. Because I prayer and I'm going to cry my eyes out that all of you that I was talking to, many of you, not all of you, but many of you right there have sinned in the past, there's strife and jealousy, you're fleshy, you can't come on, can't teach you anything, can't show you anything because you won't come to the light. You've still got that strife and jealousy you're practicing right there, and I'm going to cry my eyes out because you sinned in the past and you haven't repented, you still haven't repented, you're not led by the Spirit of God, you're practicing this impurity, immorality and sensuality. Now what do you think about all that? Now you see, folks, you're going to be a structure built around the whole counsel of God. So then look over in verse chapter 13 what he said. Now he said, what I want you to do, you might see a few falling away, but I want you to test yourself. Test yourself to see if Jesus is your Lord. Won't you folks just kind of test yourself to see if you're in a faith? Won't you examine yourself? Let me read something to you in Galatians 2 right there. See, I want you folks just to test yourself in Galatians 2, verse 17, if while seeking to be justified in Christ, we ourselves are found sinners as Christ demeanors his sin, may it never be. For if you build on what you want destroyed, you prove yourself to be a transgressor in verse 18. So he's telling you, I want you to test yourself, examine yourself, see if it's Jesus leading you in all this. See if he's in control of your life. See if you're in control of it or he's in control of it. Test yourself to see if you're in a faith or do you not recognize this about yourself? I want you to go ahead and realize this. I can tell you the truth. See if Jesus Christ is really in you unless, unless, unless, unless you really, really, really fail the test. You fail the test. But I want you to understand, I trust that you'll realize right now that we don't fail the test because we don't produce this kind of fruit. We don't produce this kind of rebate. I'd like for you to determine it. Now, do you recall first, uh, do you recall first, he's trying to tell them over there, I wish you folks would come to the light. I wish you would see, look, look at, he says, I've got some real wisdom like to give you from God, but you can't stand it. You can't stand it because you can't hear and the Holy Spirit is not going to show you any of it until you start overcoming these things, all this place. Now you're babes, you're babes in Christ. Now, you know what? Today they would tell him, well, see, you can just stay babes, but you're going to lose some of your rewards. You just might lose some crowns or you might lose this. You might lose that, but it's all right for you to go ahead and practice strife and jealousy. Is that what you're seeing right there? No, I certainly wouldn't recommend that. I surely wouldn't say it because you, it apparently you're going to lose more than some crowns here. If you practice sin, you're going to lose the kingdom of God because it's been hidden from people because they've trusted men and men who have idols in the heart, this is blinded to them because they've been brought up. When you've got an idol in your heart, you can't be led in the truth. You're just like in John 8 when Jesus came to them again and said, that I speak the things I hear from my father, your fruit and your deeds. This is what you hear from your father and you can't understand what I'm saying because you can't hear my word because the structure had their hearts. The structure had their hearts and what Jesus said wouldn't fit in the structure so they couldn't understand what he was saying. So people keep trusting intellect. They keep trusting these kinds of things and men and so that's how the blind lead the blind to the pit. They don't put their trust in Jesus. They let men be their kings. Isn't that pretty plain? So he's wanting them to be mature and to be mature and overcome. Don't get caught up in just laying hands on the sick. Don't get caught up in just casting out demons. Don't get caught up in just guilt. Don't get caught up and don't gather around speaking in tongues. Don't just get caught up in this or that what you get caught up in. It's getting that word of God and getting your pure possession of land. Amen.
