Isaiah 12:1

IN that day] When thou shalt be delivered and gathered together again. Chap. 11. 11, 12, 16.

thine anger is turned away,] Chap. 10. 25. and 27. 8. Psal. 85. 1, 3. Daniel 9:16.

comfortedst me] Chap. 40. 1. and 51. 3, 12.

Isaiah 12:2

God is my salvation] Our salvation is in; and from God alone; Psalms 3:8. Jon. 2. 9. who giveth us assurance of safetie, and occasion to praise him. Psalms 32:7.

strength and my song] Exodus 15:2. Psalms 118:14.

Isaiah 12:3

draw water] Ye shall receive aboundance of saving grace and sound comfort, as water drawn by full buckets from a well-spring, John 4:14. and John 7:38. alluding, as some think, to a solomn ceremonie used y the Jews at the feast of Tabernacles; at which their manner was, in the night time, with varietie of musick and much mirth, to fetch water from the spring of Siloam, to the Temple, in a golden vessell, and there powre it upon the Alar. Chap. 30. 29. See the contrary use of the like rite. 1 Samuel 7:6.

Isaiah 12:4

Praise the LORD,] 1 Chron. 16. 8. Psalms 105:1.

call upon his name,] Or, proclaim his name. Jeremiah 2:2. Lamentations 1:21. Jeremiah 4:16.

make mention] Or, record it. Chap. 49. 1.

Isaiah 12:5

known] Or, made known. Psalms 9:16.

Isaiah 12:6

Cry out] Heb. Cry shrill. Chap. . 30. and 54. 1.

great is the holy One] He hath shewed himself so to be, by the deliverance of thee. Psal. 126. 2, 3.
