Exodus 28:37 Summary
This verse, Exodus 28:37, is talking about how to attach a special gold plate to the high priest's turban using a blue cord. The plate has the words 'HOLY TO THE LORD' engraved on it, which reminds the priest of his important role in serving God and the people, as seen in Exodus 28:36. Just like the priest, we are called to be 'holy to the Lord' (Leviticus 20:26), and we can learn from this verse about the importance of living a life that honors God, as described in 1 Peter 1:15-16. By following God's commands and living a life of obedience, we can be a reflection of His holiness to those around us, as seen in Matthew 5:16.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the significance of the blue cord in Exodus 28:37?
The blue cord represents the heavenly connection and divine appointment of the high priest, as seen in Exodus 28:37, and is a reminder of God's presence and guidance, similar to the concept in Numbers 15:38-40.
Why was the plate with 'HOLY TO THE LORD' placed on the turban?
The plate with 'HOLY TO THE LORD' was placed on the turban to signify the priest's role as a mediator between God and the people, as described in Exodus 28:36-38, and to remind him of his holy calling, as seen in Leviticus 8:9.
What is the purpose of the turban in the priestly garments?
The turban, along with the other priestly garments, serves to symbolize the priest's separation unto God and his role in ministering to the Lord, as described in Exodus 28:1-5 and Leviticus 8:12-13.

This verse is part of the larger description of the priestly garments in Exodus 28, which emphasizes the importance of the priest's role in mediating between God and the people, as seen in Exodus 28:1-5 and Exodus 29:1-46.

- What are some ways I can, like Aaron, 'wear' my faith on my forehead, making it visible to those around me, and what impact can this have on my relationships and witness, as seen in Matthew 5:16 and 1 Peter 3:15-16?
