Context — The God of All Comfort
7And our hope for you is sure, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you will share in our comfort.
8We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the hardships we encountered in the province of Asia. We were under a burden far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. 9Indeed, we felt we were under the sentence of death, in order that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God, who raises the dead.Cross References

2 Corinthians 1:7 Summary
[This verse means that as Christians, we will face hardships and difficulties, but we can be sure that we will also experience comfort and hope. This is because we are connected to other believers who are going through similar experiences, and we can support and encourage each other, as seen in Romans 8:17. Just as we share in the sufferings of others, we will also share in their comfort, and this brings us hope and joy, as stated in 2 Corinthians 1:7. By trusting in God's faithfulness and love, we can find comfort and strength in the midst of suffering, and we can create a community of believers who care for and support one another.]
