16 Bible Verses on Wolf

16 verses

In biblical teachings, wolves often symbolize spiritual threats and false prophets. Jesus warns His followers to beware of false prophets who come in sheep's clothing but are actually wolves, as seen in Matthew 7:15. The prophet Isaiah envisions a future time of peace where wolves will no longer pose a threat, as described in Isaiah 65:25 and Isaiah 11:6-9. Meanwhile, Jesus also uses the wolf as a metaphor for the dangers that His disciples will face as they go out to spread the gospel, as in Luke 10:3 and John 10:12, emphasizing the need for vigilance and trust in His protection.

Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, by their fruit you will recognize them.
Therefore a lion from the forest will strike them down, a wolf from the desert will ravage them. A leopard will lie in wait near their cities, and everyone who ventures out will be torn to pieces. For their rebellious acts are many, and their unfaithful deeds are numerous.
