19 Bible Verses on Masks

19 verses

Deceitful individuals often hide behind a façade of righteousness, but their true nature will eventually be exposed. The book of Proverbs warns about those who wear a mask of kindness to conceal their hatred, as seen in Proverbs 26:24-28. Jesus also cautions against false prophets who disguise themselves as sheep, as mentioned in Matthew 7:15. According to Luke 12:2, nothing remains hidden forever, and the truth will ultimately be revealed, emphasizing the importance of living authentically, as encouraged in 2 Timothy 2:15, where believers are called to handle the word of truth correctly.

A lying tongue hates those it crushes, and a flattering mouth causes ruin.

For to them, deep darkness is their morning; surely they are friends with the terrors of darkness!

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their actions.
Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from any brother who leads an undisciplined life that is not in keeping with the tradition you received from us.

In the meantime, a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling one another. Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. What you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the housetops.
When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.
