10 Bible Verses on Being a Part of the Family of God

10 verses

Belonging to God's family is a precious gift, bestowed upon those who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, as seen in John 1:12. As children of God, believers are called to live out their newfound identity, reflecting the Father's love and character, as expressed in 1 John 3:1-2. The apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 2:19-22 that God's family is a spiritual household, with Jesus as the cornerstone, and Galatians 6:10 encourages believers to do good to all, especially to fellow family members. As part of this family, Christians are also united with one another, forming a single body, as noted in Romans 12:5.

John 1:12

Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.
Therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. In Him the whole building is fitted together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together into a dwelling place for God in His Spirit.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith.
so in Christ we who are many are one body, and each member belongs to one another.
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God— children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.
Therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household,
in case I am delayed, so that you will know how each one must conduct himself in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will,
