12 Bible Verses on Be Still

12 verses

In times of turmoil and uncertainty, the Bible offers a profound invitation to quietness and trust. The Psalmist encourages believers to "be still and know" that God is their refuge and strength, as seen in Psalms 46:10 and the surrounding verses, which describe God's powerful presence in the midst of chaos. This theme is echoed in Exodus 14:14, where God assures His people that He will fight for them, and in Psalms 37:7, which urges patience and stillness in the face of adversity. Even in the midst of life's storms, as depicted in Mark 4:39, God's peace can calm the troubled heart, as He did for the disciples on the tempestuous sea.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
