The Self-Life

10 sermons

The concept of "The Self-Life" in the biblical context refers to the idea of living a life driven by one's own desires, ambitions, and strengths, rather than surrendering to God's will and guidance. According to the Bible, this self-centered approach to life is inherently flawed and can lead to spiritual death, as stated in Romans 8:7, which says that "the mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God." In contrast, the Bible teaches that true life and freedom can only be found in surrendering one's self-life to God, as expressed in Galatians 2:20, where the apostle Paul writes, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." This surrender is also echoed in Psalms 23:1, which says, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing," emphasizing the idea that true fulfillment and guidance come from God, not from one's own self-efforts.
