Personal Assurance

1 sermons

Personal assurance is a profound aspect of the Christian faith that speaks to the believer's confidence in their relationship with God. The Apostle John emphasizes this assurance in 1 John 5:13, where he writes, 'I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.' This assurance is not based on our works or feelings but on the unchanging character of God and His promises. Romans 8:38-39 reassures us that nothing can separate us from the love of God, affirming that our standing before Him is secure through Christ. Furthermore, Hebrews 10:22 encourages believers to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, highlighting the importance of a sincere and trusting relationship with God. Jesus also teaches in John 10:28 that His sheep will never perish, and no one can snatch them out of His hand, reinforcing the idea that our salvation is firmly held by Him. As believers meditate on these truths, they find peace and confidence, knowing that their assurance is anchored in the faithfulness of God, as expressed in Philippians 1:6, which promises that He who began a good work in us will bring it to completion.
