Godly Purpose

2 sermons

Godly purpose is a profound theme woven throughout Scripture, illustrating God's divine intention for humanity and creation. In Jeremiah 29:11, the Lord declares, 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' This verse encapsulates the essence of God's desire for His people to thrive within His sovereign will. Moreover, in Ephesians 2:10, we are reminded that we are 'God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.' This affirms that each believer has a unique role in the unfolding of God’s redemptive narrative. Jesus teaches in Matthew 5:16 that we should 'let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven,' highlighting the importance of living out our purpose in a way that reflects God's glory. Additionally, the vision of John in Revelation 21:5, where God proclaims, 'I am making everything new,' underscores the ultimate fulfillment of God's purpose in restoring creation. As believers, understanding and pursuing our godly purpose not only enriches our lives but also contributes to the greater mission of the Kingdom.
