In the biblical context, commissioning refers to the act of God appointing or authorizing individuals for a specific purpose or mission, often involving the spread of His message or the fulfillment of His will. This concept is evident in the Great Commission, where Jesus commands His disciples to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19), and in the calling of the prophets, such as Isaiah, who was commissioned by God to "go and tell this people" (Isaiah 6:9). The apostle Paul also writes about his own commissioning, stating that he was "called to be an apostle" and "set apart for the gospel of God" (Romans 1:1), demonstrating the importance of divine commissioning in the Christian faith. Through these examples, the Bible emphasizes the significance of being commissioned by God, as seen in Psalms 23:1, where David acknowledges that "the Lord is my shepherd," guiding and directing him in his endeavors.
