Christ's Character

4 sermons

Christ's character is a profound subject that reveals the essence of His divine nature and His role as our Savior. The Scriptures portray Him as the embodiment of love, grace, and truth, as seen in John 1:14, where it states, 'And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.' His loveliness is not merely in His physical appearance but in the perfection of His moral attributes. In Isaiah 53:2, we read that He had 'no form or majesty that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him,' highlighting that His true beauty lies in His character and sacrifice. The character of Christ is also marked by humility and servanthood, as demonstrated in Philippians 2:7, where He 'emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant.' Furthermore, Jesus teaches us to reflect His character in our lives, urging us to love our enemies in Matthew 5:44, thereby calling us to emulate His divine love. Ultimately, understanding Christ's character invites us to deepen our relationship with Him, recognizing that His attributes are not only to be admired but also to be imitated in our daily walk of faith.
