Larry Steers explains how the Feast of Firstfruits prophetically points to Christ's resurrection as the firstfruits of those who have died, highlighting its significance for believers today.
In this expository sermon, Larry Steers explores the Feast of Firstfruits as described in Leviticus 23 and its prophetic fulfillment in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He carefully unpacks the biblical symbolism of the sheaf of barley and its timing in relation to Passover and the Sabbath. Steers connects Old Testament feasts with New Testament truths, encouraging believers to understand the resurrection as a new beginning and to live in the power of the Lord's Day. This message offers rich theological insight and practical application for Christian faith and worship.

Coming the last nights of this week and next week in the will of the Lord we will continue and so there are four subjects on the chart and we're going to take a look on Sunday and while it's a it's a big subject yet we'll cover it on Sunday morning the Feast of Weeks and then there is the interval and I'm going to approach that perhaps in a little different way and then we have indicated that the last three feasts on the chart are prophetic in character and will bear upon the children of Israel but will affect us as well because the last feast of tabernacles will take us on into the millennial reign of Christ. So remember the meetings next week in the will of the Lord. We're going to read with you in Leviticus chapter 23 that's a common passage that we read each night Leviticus chapter 23 and we'll read from verse 9. Verse 9 of Leviticus 23 and the Lord speak unto Moses saying speak unto the children of Israel and say unto them when you come into the land which I give unto you and shall reap the harvest thereof then ye shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest unto the priest and you shall wave the sheaf before the Lord to be accepted for you on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it and you shall offer that day you wave the sheaf now there are a number of offerings here and I indicated that we wouldn't touch much upon the offerings but we will draw your attention to these offerings now I have noted on the back of the hall here there's a little text with the offerings on it and when I read this there is one offering missing that's not here and so my question to you that keep in your mind is why is this offering missing and what is the significance that it is not here and so you'll notice in verse 12 and you shall offer that day when you wave the sheaf a lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the Lord and the meat offering thereof shall be two tenths deals of fine flour mingled with oil an offering made by fire unto the Lord for a sweet savor and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine the fourth part of an hen now if you have picked up the offering that's not there then the further question is why is it missing why is it not here now we're going to come over to first corinthians chapter 15 first corinthians chapter 15 and in first corinthians chapter 15 we will read verse 20 first corinthians chapter 15 and verse 20 but now is christ risen from the dead and become the firstfruits of them that slept for since my man came death my man came also the resurrection of the dead for as in adam all die even so in christ shall all be made alive now particularly this next verse but every man in his own order christ the firstfruits afterward they that are christ at his coming want you to notice that last expression christ the firstfruits afterward they that are christ at his coming now the same epistle back or ahead to chapter or up the chapter to chapter chapter 15 and we'll read verse one moreover brethren i declare unto you the gospel which i preached unto you which also you have received and where in you stand but which also you are saved if you keep in memory what i preached unto you unless you have believed in vain for i delivered unto you first of all that which i also received how that christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures now we're going to come to the gospel of matthew chapter 27 the gospel of matthew chapter 27 and we'll read from verse 59 matthew chapter 27 verse 59 and when joseph this is joseph of arimathea had taken the body that is the body of the lord jesus christ he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in his own new tomb which he had hewn out in the rock and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher and departed and of course john would tell us that nicodemus was part of that verse 61 and there was mary magdalene and the other mary sitting over against the sepulcher now the next day that followed the day of the preparation the chief priests and pharisees came together under pilot saying sir we remember that deceiver said while he was yet alive after three days i will rise again command therefore that the sepulcher be made sure until the third day lest his disciples come by night and steal him away and say unto the people he is risen from the dead now ponder the next statement so the last error shall be worse than the first what was the first error are they really confessing here that they made a mistake in the crucifixion of christ let's think that one over but notice verse 65 pilots said unto them you have a watch go your way make it as sure as you can chapter 58 i will just read a few verses from verse 5 chapter 58 and verse 5 the women have come to the sepulcher and the angel answering and said unto the women fear not ye for i know that ye seek jesus which was crucified he is not here he is risen as he said come see the place where the lord lay and go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead and behold he goes before you into galilee there shall you see him lo i have told you and what a message they had they didn't waste time and they departed quickly from the sepulcher with fear and great joy and did run to bring the disciples his disciples word that's all that we will read and we look to god to add his own blessing to the reading of his precious word when we come to this feast we're on new ground and so the feast of first fruits is the feast that we are looking at tonight when i say we're on new ground you will remember that probably the first meeting i drew your attention maybe the second one that the chapter is divided into four into five sections and it's divided into five sections by the expression and the lord spake unto moses and so this is the second time that the lord speaks to moses and again it divides the chapter into the second part the two feasts that are immediately before us the feast of first fruits and the feast of weeks which is also called the feast of first fruits so we have looked at the passover we have looked at the feast of unleavened bread and now we're touching a tremendous subject the feast of first fruits and what it signifies to us the feast of first fruits could not be kept in egypt they had no crops in egypt they were a slave people and so in the land of egypt there was no barley and we're going to point out that the sheath here in the hands of the priest is a sheath of barley and so the barley grain was the first ripe grain in the land of israel and when we come over to this feast the feast of weeks the two loaves of bread of course are made out of wheat and so that is the first of the wheat harvest they couldn't keep these feasts in the wilderness and so we have read tonight in verse 10 when ye become into the land and so these feasts could only be observed when the children of israel had completed the wilderness journey they have crossed the jordan they have arrived at the plains of gilgal they have kept that passover in numbers chapter 9 and now they have commenced to possess the land and they have commenced to plant some of the crops for they need the barley crop and they need the wheat crop in order to observe these feasts and now we come to the point where the barley crop is about ready to be harvested and they are about ready to keep the feast here of first fruits notice that there are three things that characterize this feast there is an anticipation of the land and so while it was revealed to them in the wilderness the feast is an anticipation of the land because god had made a promise and god had said when you become into the land and so with that in their soul if they had accepted the word of god they would know that they are going to come into the land and so the feast of first fruits has a divine promise it anticipates the land but it also anticipates the harvest it anticipates a divine provision god is going to provide for them when they come into the land and there is going to be a harvest and it is a feast that is one of abounding joy there is divine pleasure and we're going to notice that in this feast there's divine pleasure by god in the keeping of this feast and so the blessing of god will be upon them when they become into the land and then begin to reap the barley harvest but before they reap all of that harvest there must be a sheaf of first fruits that would be gathered in and so we have read here verse 10 ye shall bring a sheaf it's called a sheaf and then you'll notice in verse 11 it is called the sheaf now they're going to have to go out into the barley field and when they go out into the barley field they're going to cut a sheaf i made a comment when looking at a sheaf out in western canada and i said to the younger folks you don't know what a sheaf is because they don't harvest grain with a threshing machine like i have worked on occasionally a few times and they don't harvest with the modern combines that they have that are air conditioned and kind of glide across the field i sat in one of those they cut the sheaves and the sheaves were cut by hand and so in the cutting of the sheaf and that is the preparation of the sheaf that is in the hands of the priest when they cut the sheaf the cutting of the sheaf is a picture of death and so we have two pictures immediately of the death of the lord jesus christ we have the passover lamb death we have the cutting of this sheath that speaks of death and so written over the sheaf of first fruits is death says they are to bring this sheaf and so they would send a delegation and the lord's sojourn here upon the earth that could have been a delegation from what is known as the sanhedrin or there could have been a number of been appointed to go out into the harvest field and to cut the sheath it's interesting that the first three of these feasts passover the feast of unleavened bread and this one the feast of weeks are all recorded by paul in the corinthian epistle and so we have noted christ our passover sacrifice for us we have noted let us keep the feast that the feast is the life of the believer and now we come to the feast of first fruits and paul mentions that we have read that in first corinthians here chapter 15 and so they're going out to cut the sheath and they are going to cut the sheath now i'm going to make a suggestion here that they're going to cut the sheath but they are going to bring the sheath to the temple and they are going to lay the sheath up in the temple for a particular reason and now you can get your mind going a little bit on the large on that why would they have to lay the sheath up into the temple we're not specifically told that but the whole sense of the passage would indicate that this sheath will be laid up in the temple now remember the days again and the days are going to be important as we make our way on and then finally come to the interval between the feast of weeks and the feast of trumpets so you have to get the days fastened in your mind the 14th passover and i'm persuaded that the passover when the lord was upon earth was the day that we recognize as friday and then the sabbath on the 15th the same day that the feast of unleavened bread commenced and then the feast of first fruits here was on the 16th and so now you know that the first three feasts were all very closely tied together right at the beginning of the time of the first month when the passover was sacrificed the first three feasts are all within three days one after the other you keep that in mind for a few moments and so the feast of first fruits will picture for us the resurrection of christ and it will be a new beginning and so i indicated that maybe i forgot to do this but i i indicated that i had a jewish student in one of my classes her father was a rabbi his rabbi learner rabbi learner was a not an orthodox rabbi he was about as modern as a rabbi could possibly be but when i had that class i didn't know then what i do now and i would like to meet the rabbi again and i would like to take the rabbi's finger and i would like to put the rabbi's finger right on verse 11 it says the moral after the sabbath and i would like to ask the rabbi what day is the moral after the sabbath and likely he would be very hesitant to answer that question but i would be insistent and i would push him a little and i would demand that he give me an answer right in his own law right in leviticus chapter 23 and it's repeated again later twice the moral after the sabbath now that's significant isn't it that this feast of first roots was to be offered the moral after the sabbath remember the 15th was a sabbath the 16th is the moral after the sabbath and of course we know the moral after the sabbath to be the first day of the week we call it sunday first day of the week we know that the early disciples in act chapter 20 gathered to remember the lord jesus christ on the first day of the week the moral after the sabbath interesting then that john was on the isle of patmas and john says i was in the spirit on the lord's day the lord's day is the first day of the week and i would suggest that john got the entire revelation of the book of the revelation on that lord's day when he was in the spirit so what does it mean to be in the spirit when you come to that statement of revelation chapter one in verse 10 the tense is really i became in the spirit and so john wasn't always in the spirit but on the lord's day he was in the spirit what does it mean to be in the spirit i'm going to quote the words of a hymn you sing it shut in with thee far far above the restless world that wars below we seek to learn and prove thy love thy wisdom and thy grace to know to be in the spirit on the lord's day possible for us to rise above high above the things of time and sense the things that we did yesterday or that we plan to do tomorrow that's kind of difficult isn't it because our minds sometimes just run and work and work but to be in the spirit means that you rise above all of the things of time and sense and you're occupied with one man with the person of the lord jesus christ i have read in matthew chapter 28 the lord's day the first day of the week is a day of resurrection i've been saying i love that hymn that we have been singing about the morning when the lord jesus christ was lying in that tomb and when the exact moment arrived it rose up from amongst the dead let me go back to the field again and so the delegation goes into the field and they're going to cut this sheaf of barley they can't cut the sheaf of barley on the 14th because the 14th is a passover is a high holy day the passover they can't do any work on the passover and so to to cut the sheaf of barley from the harvest field is looked at in the jewish economy as labor as work can't cut the sheaf on the passover they couldn't cut the sheaf on the 15th because the 15th was a sabbath and we have read it was a sabbath when very specifically they were told that they could not do any servile work on that sabbath so no cutting of the sheaf on the sabbath but they had to have the sheaf for the following day for the 16th and so that's what i suggested to you that they went out before the passover and before the passover they cut the sheaf you know what the sheaf is maybe i should explain it a few stalks of barley with the heads at one end and the stems and bound together probably 25 or 30 stalks of barley bound together presenting a little sheaf so they cut that before the passover they had to they had no alternative and then they brought it to the temple and it was laid up in the temple i'm referring to the time when the lord was upon earth it was laid up in the temple over the passover and over the sabbath until the first day of the week have you got the picture have you really got this in your soul now because the picture is beautiful tremendous while in that garden tomb that we have read about where joseph of arimathea and nicodemus recorded in john when those two men took the body of the lord jesus christ and laid it in the garden tomb while the body of the lord jesus was lying in that tomb there was a sheaf of barley was lying up in the temple at the same time the sheaf of barley is a little reminder of the man who was laid in death in the garden tomb i think the picture is just simply a tremendous picture you'll notice in verse 11 that it was priestly activity who was going to take the sheet and he's going to wave the sheet before the veil of the temple in verse 12 you have the offerer's responsibility well let me just paint a little picture for you you know that the high priest was caiaphas when the lord jesus christ was upon this earth and if you know anything about caiaphas if if you've read anything historical or any articles on caiaphas you probably know a little bit about this man caiaphas was a proud man and perhaps on other occasions he had made his way to the temple and he's going to wave this sheaf before the veil of the temple but he's the man that wants the accolades of the people he wants their applause he wants to stand out in the eyes of the people and so whether there would be others that would be lining the route that the priest would take to the temple caiaphas would make his way to the temple he would pick up the sheath and however many times he waved it before the veil of the temple he didn't understand the significance of that it was only a cultural tradition and it put him first number one in the eyes of the people but now he's going to wave the sheaf again but things have changed it's not the same as it was previously because caiaphas has experienced three hours of tremendous darkness when the sun has refused to shine and that darkness would put fear into the hearts of men and caiaphas was no different than any other man he's passed through a time of fear when the sun refused to shine he has stood upon an earth where the rocks have grind been grinding under his feet and he has wondered what all this is about there has been an earthquake not just a local earthquake it has been an earthquake where the earth shook creation recognized the death of its creator men turned their back on him and as caiaphas makes his way to the temple this time there's a sense of fear in his soul and it may well have been on his way to that temple word has reached him that something else has happened that that veil in the temple that it has been torn not from the bottom up that's the way that men would do it men would reach at the bottom of the veil and rip it and it would tear from the top from the bottom up but this veil was torn from the top down to the bottom a rent veil and that would cause caiaphas to wonder my son taught school in japan for three years japan is a land that is given to earthquakes and he tells me that is a fearful thing when the earth begins to shake i don't know whether you've ever experienced an earthquake but i would imagine that that would be kind of fearful and the students in japan are told to jump under their desk when the earth starts to shake because if the roof of the building falls in they will have some protection hopefully by the desks that are above them and so caiaphas now fearfully is making his way to the temple and when he gets to the temple he gets this sheath in his hands and he's standing before a rent veil i don't know where the man had ever seen beyond that veil in his life but standing before that rent veil he takes that sheath and he starts to wave it back and forth likely this time very very quickly and likely very quickly he makes his exit from the temple oh but listen one tremendous thing has taken place while the priest is waving that sheath before the veil of the temple in that garden too there's a man who steps out from amongst the dead alive the lord jesus rose from the dead and he's pictured in that sheath of first fruits that was waved before the veil of the temple that is a picture in the old testament of the resurrection of christ now now as you follow leviticus chapter 23 you expect that that's going to take place and so you expect the passover the death and you would expect the feast of unleavened bread we've touched that and now the feast of first fruits and the waving of that veil the resurrection of christ and it will follow through for the next feast as well and so on mighty triumphant power he rose again and so we have read in first corinthians chapter 15 christ died for our sins according to the scriptures let me just pick that up for a moment i hope there has been a moment in the life of everyone here who you can look back in your life to that moment when you discovered the death of christ was for me he suffered for me and your understanding was open to appreciate that that death was all for me i want no other argument i need no other plea it is enough that jesus died and that he died for me want you to think for a moment then of the sheaf that is waved before the veil of the temple the sheaf is a picture of the resurrection of christ now we have read and first corinthians chapter 15 these tremendous words christ died for our sins according to the scriptures with barrett he rose again according to the scriptures now where would you go in the scriptures to get a further illustration or a further picture or a further type of the resurrection of christ well the scriptures are very clear a number of times and we're not just touching that picture for that type for a moment but a number of times it is stated very very clearly that god raised him from the dead acts chapter one and i think what was two or three it says very clearly god raised him from the dead but you remember what the lord jesus christ said the lord jesus said destroy this temple and he was not referring to the temple that harrah built he was referring to his body there's a precious word that is used there for temple you know there are two words in the new testament for temple one is the word here on and and that includes all of the temple and all of the outer corpse of the temple but the other word is naos and the naos is the holy of holies that's the word that he used he said destroy this temple referring to his body referring to his body as a holy body the dwelling place of deity upon earth he said destroy this temple in other words put me to death in three days i will raise it again he promised that he would raise it again that's the acid test really that he really was whom he said he was when he fulfilled his own words and he raised himself from the dead but you know what peter says peter says put to death in the flesh but quickened by the spirit that is the spirit of god and so in the resurrection of christ is all the godhead moving as one moving in unison bringing the lord jesus out from amongst the dead in triumphant power and he showed himself alive by many infallible proofs and so coming back to that statement according to the scriptures where would you go well most would probably take us correctly to the time when abraham was told to offer his son as a burnt offering the son that he loved and so three days journey notice three days journey there are three days here on this chart three days journey and so abraham traveled for three days with his eyes upon isaac that must have been hard to look at isaac to know what he purposed in his own soul to do now i made it very clear i think at some point in time maybe in conversation to someone that god never demanded it a human sacrifice so it wasn't really isaac that god was working with it was abraham it was a test for abraham and you know in the end abraham never actually had to offer isaac but he intended to that was fully his purpose there was no reserve god had said that to offer isaac as a burnt offering fully intended to do that and so at the foot of the mountain abraham said to the young man terry here i and the lad will go yonder and worship and come again to you abraham intended to put isaac on the altar to sacrifice him but abraham knew that if god was going to fulfill his purposes and god would fulfill his purposes that isaac had to come down the mountain alive israel was not the son of promise israel was set aside other children later after sarah had passed away that abraham had they're not the ones that are the children of promise isaac was and so for god to fulfill his promises he had to have a living isaac and so abraham was fully confident that if he had to sacrifice isaac and watch isaac burned to ashes upon that altar god would raise him from the dead and hebrews chapter 11 tells you that that he received him in figure from the dead i'm going to take you to another example that you might not have given too much thought of there's a beautiful picture when you go back to leviticus chapter 14 there are two birds these two birds have soared in the heavens that is in itself a reminder of the lord jesus christ came from heaven and so here are two birds and they have flown freely in the heavens but at some point in time they are taken and one of those birds is taken to an earthen vessel and over the earthen vessel that bird is killed and its blood is caught in the vessel that bird that is killed over the earthen vessel speaks of the death of christ but there's a living bird now and the living bird is taken and its blood the blood of the bird that has been slain is sprinkled upon the living bird and the living bird is let loose to soar into the heavens again those two birds would remind us of the death and the living bird soaring into the heavens again of the resurrection of the lord jesus christ let me give you another illustration of the resurrection of christ according to the scriptures there came a time in the history of israel recorded in numbers chapter 17 when they had to choose who the high priest was going to be and so 12 rods were taken those were the 12 rods of the princess of israel and so on one rod the rod of levi was written the name of aaron and those rods were laid up before the lord and the following day when those rods were taken aaron's rod had not only but it but it had produced fruit as an indication that aaron was the one who was to be the high priest that again is a picture of resurrection the rod bursting into life and we're saying in the car on the way to a meeting tonight look around you god has painted the creation around you with evidence of resurrection every tree outside this hall every flower that springs up to life is all god's picture of resurrection god has filled his creation with resurrection and anyone who has an open eye and a willing heart must be impressed with the truth of resurrection and the resurrection of the lord jesus christ the resurrection of christ is the seal of the redemptive act that is if the lord jesus was still in the supple curve we are of all men most miserable we have no hope there is no eternal life if he's still in the grave but he rose again and when he rose again the resurrection of christ is an evidence that god is perfectly fully satisfied in every detail of treachery and of the cross and of the work of the savior and of the shedding of precious blood and not only so but aaron's rod come back to aaron's rod we have a high priest in heaven so there was a man who one day hung on a cross suffering terribly indescribably beyond us to really grasp in the hours of darkness what the savior suffered the last violent act that was perpetrated against the body of the lord jesus christ was when the roman soldier pierced his side with a spear that was the last violent act you remember that jacob said when he had the evidence that joseph was alive he said it is enough and god looks down from heaven upon the form of the lord jesus christ upon that cross and when that soldier pierced his side and when precious blood was shed it is as if god said it is enough and from that moment on no defiled hand of any man ever touched the body of the lord jesus christ nor ever will and so those two men that took him down took him down very kindly i don't know how they did that we have indicated that i don't know how they took him down i don't know how they remove the nails from his hands and feet and i'm not even going to suggest and put i love the words gently they took him down on fixed his hands and feet took from his head the thorny crown and wound the body in the sheet the winding sheet and those two men very carefully and very compassionately took that body and they took the body of the lord jesus to the sepulcher and laid him there and rolled the stone across the sepulcher and only four people were there the two men and two women and then they left but on the third day he rose again and so tonight there is a living savior in heaven but that's not the end of the story when you come to the feast of first fruits a sheaf of barley we have read this statement in first corinthians chapter 15 christ the first fruits afterward they that are christ and his coming the first fruits were the first few stems of barley that were cut from that field bound up to make the sheaf but the rest of the barley is still there it's still in the field now do you get the picture what does the rest of the barley signify we'll come back to the statement again christ the first fruits afterward they that are christ and his coming that barley harvest is all going to be reaped it's all going to be gathered in the harvesters are going to gather it get the little statement afterward they that are christ and his coming in other words another harvest christ is the first fruits yes there were others that were summoned back from the dead lazarus dorcas and others but they all died again the savior is the one who was raised from the dead who raised himself from the dead never to die again the others did experience death but he will never die again he hath appeared once in the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself and that one sacrifice that one death that one act of suffering has settled every claim of god will never be repeated he lives in the power of an endless life never to die again but then come back to that field of barley it's going to be gathered in and so what does the field of barley signify well the field of barley is a picture of you and a picture of those who have known christ who have passed away they are absent from the body and they are present with the lord but there's going to come a harvest and that harvest is going to be gathered in that's the field of barley christ is the first fruits but the fruits the barley harvest it's going to be gathered in so there's going to come a moment when the lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout he's coming to gather in the harvest he will come with a shout the voice of the archangel the trump of god and the dead in christ are going to rise first i did tell you about the funeral just before i came here and in that cemetery and i looked around the cemetery all those graves in the cemetery and i thought of all the broken hearts and the sadness that has taken place in that cemetery and those who stand at that open grave and they're saying goodbye to a loved one i reminded those who are at the grave of the funeral that i was taking because i knew that man he's in heaven this is only good night just for a little time for the lord is going to come and those loved ones that we have laid away in the earth are going to rise again you don't have any problem with that do you you have no problem with the martyrs the covenanters and others those that were devoured by the lions in the roman arena are going to rise again you have no problem with that and because god is a god of creation and he who created the universe will make one mighty shout the lord jesus will come and every soul regardless of how they have met their death every soul who has known him the body is going to be raised and going to be reunited with the soul to meet the lord in the air and those of us who are alive and remain we're going to be summoned they will have priority just briefly probably so quickly that it's just a matter of milliseconds and we're going to rise with them to meet the lord in the air what a gathering what a gathering that is going to be when for the first time we're going to see the lord yes he suffered on the cross thank god he was laid in the garden tomb he rose again but we're going to see the living savior and we're going to see the one with the marks of calvary in his hands his feet and inside what a moment that that is going to be but there's one more thing here have you got the offering there's one offering that's missing and the offering that is missing well notice what it says there is a burnt offering a lamb it says refers to the lamb as he the power of the lamb without blemish the perfect lamb of the first year the preciousness of the lamb and that lamb is for a burnt offering the skin of the burnt offering was not part of the offering but the burnt offering was all for god there's a burnt offering here well you'll notice as well there's a meat offering or a meal offering that is composed of fine meal that that would be composed of flour says two tenths deals well that's double what there usually was and so this offering has uh double the amount mingled with oil offered unto the lord for a sweet savor so there's a meal offering so there's a burnt offering there's a meal offering there's a drink offering and the drink offering we are told is a little bit of wine the fourth part of a hit of wine that's the usual amount in the drink offering so what's missing no sin offering why is there no sin offering well how could there be a sin offering when the work of the lord jesus on the cross and his resurrection has been the final sin offering and there is no longer in this particular feast there is no longer a need for a sin offering here because the work that saves is done it's all complete the savior lives and all that the soul needs is christ and so the sin offering is christ and so it can't be repeated now not when you come to the feast of first fruits so there is no sin offering here what a precious thought every person here who is saved can take the words of the hymn writer and sing them with all of the soul my sin oh the bliss of this glorious thought my sin not in part but the whole was nailed to his cross and i bear no more praise the lord oh my soul and so we repeat the expression again again that the resurrection of christ is the seal of the act of redemption all is completed and so thank god when the soul discovers that and so let me just close with this has everyone here really discovered that the preciousness of the work of the lord jesus christ and the sufferings on the cross for my sin that i can do nothing but he has done it all everything has been perfectly completed by the lord jesus christ and those who are saved can go back in their life and they will remember that moment when they discovered that grand truth that the lord jesus died for them on the cross i hope we all know that because the lord's coming we touched a little on that tonight but the lord is going to come again and this is the point on this this chart and in this chapter in the book of revelation at the end of that interval that is the moment when the lord is going to come again and so lord willing on sunday we'll take a look at the feast of weeks and then the interval on monday night and i'm going to tell you something a little different on monday night we'll pray
