Ten Vital Evidences of True Salvation
Keith Daniel

Keith Daniel (1946 - 2021). South African evangelist and Bible teacher born in Cape Town to Jack, a businessman and World War II veteran, and Maud. Raised in a troubled home marked by his father’s alcoholism, he ran away as a teen, facing family strife until his brother Dudley’s conversion in the 1960s sparked his own at 20. Called to ministry soon after, he studied at Glenvar Bible College, memorizing vast Scripture passages, a hallmark of his preaching. Joining the African Evangelistic Band, he traveled across South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and made over 20 North American tours, speaking at churches, schools, and IBLP Family Conferences. Daniel’s sermons, like his recitation of the Sermon on the Mount, emphasized holiness, repentance, and Scripture’s authority. Married to Jenny le Roux in 1978, a godly woman 12 years his junior, they had children, including Roy, and ministered together. He authored no books but recorded 200 video sermons, now shared online. His uncompromising style, blending conviction and empathy, influenced thousands globally.

Sermon Summary
In this sermon, the preacher shares two powerful stories that demonstrate the saving power of the Gospel. The first story recounts a time when the preacher was interrupted during his sermon by a man who wanted to give his life to Christ. Despite the commotion, the man came forward and was embraced by the congregation in compassion. The second story involves a missionary who brings a little girl with long, white hair to the preacher. The girl had given her life to Christ and wanted to speak with him. She reveals that the preacher's testimony about his alcoholic father deeply resonated with her own family's struggles. These stories highlight the transformative impact of the Gospel and the urgency of seeking God's salvation.
Sermon Transcription
Paul wrote, Paul wrote in Romans 1 verse 16, I, I am not ashamed, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Are you? I don't mean here, but out there, are you? I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it, it is the power of God. It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth. It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth. Beloved, the power of God, the Holy Ghost, is unleashed, is unleashed in an uncomprehendable way when any Christian, when any Christian passionately and compassionately shares the gospel of Christ to lost souls. I want to repeat that. The power of God, the Holy Ghost, is unleashed in an uncomprehendable way when any Christian passionately and compassionately shares the gospel of Christ to lost souls. It is as though God did beseech you by us, Paul says. It is as though God was calling out, crying out through us. It is as though God did beseech you by us, 2 Corinthians 5 verse 20. Christ in you, Christ in you is the hope of glory, Colossians 1 verse 27 records. You have no hope of eternal life unless Christ dwells in you. If any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Christ in you is the hope of glory, by us, 2 Corinthians 5 verse 20. Christ in you, Christ in you is the hope of glory, by us, 2 Corinthians 5 verse 20. Christ in you, Christ in you is the hope of glory, by us, 2 Corinthians 5 verse 20. Christ in you, Christ in you is the hope of glory, by us, 2 Corinthians 5 verse 20. Christ in you, Christ in you is the hope of glory, by us, 2 Corinthians 5 verse 20. But Christ in you is not only our hope of glory, beloved, but it is the only hope the lost have. It is the only hope the lost have, who would otherwise cry out in sorrow for all eternity. No man cared for my soul. Psalm 142, verse 4. Beloved, if I am truly saved, if I am truly saved and remain rightly related to God, I am a soul winner. If I am truly saved and remain rightly related to God, I am a soul winner. Fifty years ago, 28th of July, as a very young man, I knelt before God. I knelt before God and gave my life to Him. The preacher that led me to Christ in His own wise way, a man close to death. I didn't realize that. I was this lost soul. This godly man led to Christ, and I believe he knew this is the last soul God would give him before he was taken. That man shared many profound things with me. Had he not, my course would have been very different, though I was truly saved. I only began to realize, for I didn't realize that night that I would preach. I wouldn't be so presumptuous to have believed that at that moment. But I soon came to realize that the things he shared with me were for multitudes, and multitudes and multitudes of people across this world. That somehow God has spread, as I said, word perfect what he shared with me that night in such a compassionate and profound and wise way. But as I was leaving his home with a group of people that had been praying for me for a long time, all weeping, that I had come to Christ. And as I was leaving his home after the counsel he had given me, the night of my salvation, he called out with a loud voice, Oh, Keith, Keith, where? So I turned and so did everyone else. One more thing, boy. One more thing I need to share with you before you go home. If you, if you have been truly saved here tonight, my boy, if you have been truly saved here tonight by God, you will be a soul winner. From the next step you take to the last step you take in life, you will be a soul winner. Or I doubt, I doubt you have been saved, if you're not, from the next step you take. Beginning with the lost in your home, as you go back to your home, the lost, you will find yourself unable to keep quiet. You will find yourself unable. There will be God's love for them, God's compassion for them, and you will be unable to be quiet of what God has done for you tonight if you are truly saved. Beginning right now with the lost in your home, tomorrow morning as you leave your home, from the first step till the moment you come back through your door, you will be a soul winner. It's no good to say you're a Christian. That means nothing today, boy, in this world. You will be a soul winner. And you will be known as a soul winner, driven with the compassion of God. Or I doubt you've been saved here tonight, boy. And I will fear for you, if you're not, till the day you die. Keith, to have experiential knowledge of God's salvation from damnation for eternity, to know that by the witness of the Holy Spirit in your heart, to claim to have experiential knowledge of God's eternal salvation, and not to be driven by God with compassion to souls wherever you can, wherever God gives you opportunity, is blasphemy. It's sacrilege to claim salvation. It's paramount sacrilege and blasphemy. And as you die, Keith, if you are saved here tonight and remain rightly related to God, you will die compassionately, trying to win the souls of those that are tending to you. You tend to their eternal state. Now go, soldier of Christ, go and live it. The fruit of the righteous, that is someone rightly related to God, there has to be fruit. You cannot be rightly related to God without fruit. What fruit is he speaking of here? The fruit of the Holy Spirit? Love? No. Oh, no. The context is what matters. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. You won't be known just as a Christian. You'll be known in the conscience of men as they look at you as a tree of life. What does it mean? The verse goes on, He that winneth souls is wise. Proverbs 11, verse 30. It's not wise to go through a university or a theological seminar and come out with degrees of theology and Greek, and you're not a soul winner. That is a tragedy, those degrees. You're a living tragedy. It's wise. In God's eyes, this man has true wisdom. In Proverbs 11, verse 30. He that winneth souls. That's the fruit of the righteous, that verse claims. Beloved, if I am truly saved and remain rightly related to God, I will be a soul winner. I am a soul winner. And secondly, if we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God, we immediately experience, we experience a staggering faith in the saving power of the gospel. We experience a staggering faith in the saving power of the gospel. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It is the power of God unto salvation. We experience a staggering faith in the saving power of the gospel. When I was a young preacher, 48 years ago, I preached in a very large hall, conference center to a very staggering crowd, amount of people. I had the privilege of seeing in that, as a young preacher, souls just streaming out. No one, no one in that building, missionaries, preachers across that building from all over Africa, all over the continent. As the people just streamed out missionary children who were rebellious, who hated what they were forced to be on the mission field because their daddy had been called by God. Oh, streaming out hardened on their faces. They just fell down weeping and sobbing. There was sobbing across the hall for no one could believe their eyes. Oh, God came. God came. And then afterwards, a missionary lady, an elderly missionary, brought a little girl. A little girl. With long white hair. Never forget her. Mommy probably never cut her hair. Long, white, not just blonde, it was white. She looked like a little angel. And this missionary lady said, Brother Daniel, this little girl has just given her life to Christ. But she said that before she goes and she has to leave now, she has to speak to you. Would you please find time? We'll wait with me, lady. And let's speak all together. What is it? And she looks at me now very tearful and said, Sir, what you were preaching, you said your daddy had been an alcoholic. And now your daddy went on his knees at the sorrow and the shame and the hurts that came upon you and your family, your mother, your brother. You said how your daddy when he realized all the sorrows that were coming, he went on his knees and weeping said, I'm stopping. I will not touch drink again. This is not going to go on. Destroying your life, Keith, like this. You running off like this. We can't find you. It's me, Keith. I know that, but listen, boy, I'm stopping now. You said when he said that on his knees weeping, within days he was back enslaved. And then you quoted things in the Bible. Whosoever committeth sin continues with sin, no matter how hard they try to stop, is a servant of sin, enslaved to sin. But if the Son, Jesus, shall set you free, you shall be free indeed. She tried to quote in her little mind the thing she said. You said that your daddy came to Christ. And that night he got up. He didn't have to go to Alcoholics Anonymous or these institutions. Your daddy stood up, saved, and never touched a drink again. Threw down his cigarettes over 60 a day, never touched a smoke again. Hated the smell of drink, smashed the bottles, wept, and cried to your mother. We'll never have alcohol in this home again. Not wine, not champagne, nothing. It destroyed my life. And he never touched a drink again. And how he loves God. Sir, my daddy's an alcoholic. My daddy went on his knees when he saw what he did to my brother physically and my mother, her face. And he said he'll never do, but he does the worst. We have to flee. Well, the police say that if he comes within a 50 mile radius of our home he will be jailed without any court case. He will be jailed. He's not allowed to see us. I'm not allowed to contact him. But I never heard this before, what you said. But sir, my daddy needs Jesus also. And I've only found Christ tonight. I'm going to phone him. Mother doesn't know I've got his phone number. I haven't spoken to daddy in all the time that he hasn't been allowed to come near us. And I'm going to tell him this sermon. I want you to help me. I see you've got papers in your Bible. I want you to help me and put papers in my Bible. I want you to show me the verses you quoted tonight. When you said repentance is not you turning from a life of sin and stopping this and stopping drinking. You said repentance is turning to God knowing you can't stop, knowing you're enslaved, knowing you've tried, knowing there's nothing. But turning to Him knowing you can't stop. But asking Him to set you free. Asking Him, wanting Him, believing He can. Not just His death for the forgiveness of sins, but His risen life to set you free. My daddy needs that. Sir, help me. So we put all little pages in the verses she had remembered and wanted. She wrote a few little statements down and I helped her. And so did the little lady. And then she said pray for me because I'm going to phone daddy. I want my daddy back. I want my daddy. So we all prayed. I don't know how long it was. A few years perhaps. One night a man came up to me, a big man with a big Bible. And he looked at me and said, do you remember a little girl with white hair, long white hair, not blond, no white. Do you remember in that convention, that city. And she gave her life to Christ and she asked you to help her because she's going to phone her alcoholic daddy. Do you remember praying with that little girl? I said, yes. And then he said, well, I'm the daddy. I was enslaved for so long, brother. I tried so hard to stop. When I tried to stop, I used to go into these delusions and see spiders and things crawling over me. And I went over my head and I smashed through the glass panes of bottle stores to get and just lay there drinking until I'm drunk. And then I became violent, always violent. Wherever I was, aggressive. I couldn't stop. One way or the other, I was just a mess. A tragedy. And they took my family away from me. And then my daughter phoned me and told me of your sermon and read scriptures from the Bible and said you'd prayed for me to be saved. And she said, daddy, all you need is Jesus. He can set you free. You can't set you free. I just sobbed and sobbed. A few days later, some terrible thing happened. My circumstances. I got in the car. I drove toward that town where my children were. I went up this gorge and I put my foot flat on the petrol, on the gas. I moved up at terrible speed. The car was... And I wanted to go right over that cliff where the lorries and other vehicles had gone to their deaths. And as I was trying to go into that, I was screaming. The car stripped the other way. And I couldn't believe it. And I screamed. I wanted to die. But the car just went. It wouldn't go over the cliff. Eventually it just pulled to a stop against this thing. I was so scared and so shaken. But I got out realizing God. And suddenly all I could hear was my little girl's voice. All you need is Jesus. He can set you free, but you've got to turn. You've got to want Him to set you free. You've got to come to Him and ask His salvation, not just from judgment, from the power and enslavement of sin. All I could hear was all she said. I got out of the car. I got down on the street, trembling, shaking like a leaf, and sobbing. And I cried out to God. Oh, Jesus Christ, save my soul. Save me. Set me free. I groaned. And then suddenly something amazing happened. It was like a wave of divine love just swept over me. It so filled me with joy and peace that I never knew a human could know. And I couldn't groan and cry to God any longer. I couldn't cry for help. All I did was start to praise Him and thank Him and worship Him. Something I'd never done in my life. I had this joy, this peace, this partial understanding. I never touched a drink again. I never went through withdrawal stages as I've tried all these institutions. It was gone. It was gone, brother. That man became a preacher. He's dead now, because he was a lot older than me at that stage, but he led so many souls to God, particularly alcoholics. You don't have to go to theological seminar to get degrees to win a soul to Christ. You can be a little girl saved for minutes, but you have in you an amazing, staggering faith. If I am truly saved and remain rightly related to God, firstly, I will be a soul now. I will be a soul when I secondly, I immediately experience a staggering faith in the saving power of the gospel as that little girl did. And thirdly, when we are truly saved, when we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God, He swiftly makes us aware that the gospel of Christ is unlimited. It is unlimited in its saving power. It is unlimited in its saving power. I was attending a meeting in the City Hall of Johannesburg, one of the largest cities in the world. It was massive, but I was upstairs in a smaller auditorium in a very evangelical and conservative meeting as a young Christian. And then after the meeting, I had lingered to help with the books. I walked down the steps of the great City Hall and I saw through these doors something was going on. And so I pushed the door and I saw hundreds of little children sitting. And there were two Americans, a man and his wife, from a child evangelism. I got to know them years later. But those men, that man and woman, were doing something wonderful because every child was gripped. And I was so gripped, the few moments I stood at the door, that I walked in slowly, shut the door, sat at the back of the massive hall and listened. And I was enthralled, as were the children, at the anointing of God and the way every child was unable to almost breathe, at the way God's presence was there. Suddenly the door opened where I had come through from the steps leading down from the higher foyer, the higher, smaller auditorium. Well, in comes two men, tramps, from the street, dressed like tramps, down the notch, people who've hit rock bottom. And they were under the influence, there's no doubt of that. And so they stand there with the door banging, they didn't do it slowly, and they say, oh, oh, oh, making noises, so the man stopped preaching. All the children turned, run across the hall back, looking at those two tramps that walked in. And so they sat down next to me, just a few seats from me. And they still made a few noises. Now I said to myself, oh, the devil sent you to destroy this meeting. Satan got you here. You've destroyed the meeting. And I wasn't too compassionate, to be honest with you. I was a little bit perturbed and unnerved. And angry. So, we're sitting there now, I forgot about them after a while, and on and on. Suddenly this old American man says to the children, those of you that God has spoken to that want to give your lives to Christ in a way that you can never take back, but forever. You've got to come now and we're going to pray with you. Come forward. Well, a lot of children got up. And I was really blessed. You see, the amount across the hall all surging forward and starting to kneel in the front. And then I saw these two men stand up. And I saw tears coming down their faces. And they walked and knelt behind these big men, behind all these children, on their knees weeping. This man had wisdom. He told his wife to carry on in the leading, because there wasn't a lot of winners, sure winners there to help, so it was one prayer and then another whole sermon to tell them what to do in literature. But, he took these two men. Now, you might find this hard to believe. They were saved that day. Gloriously saved. For years they went to all the meetings, the conferences, the prayer meetings that I went to as a young... And the last I heard, which was years later, they were following God. Of course you could see that they came from rough broken lives, from the streets. But they dressed decently. They found work. And they loved God and their Bibles. Their Bibles were in tatters by the end. They loved the Lord. God set them free. God set them free, beloved. It's unlimited. We limit the gospel. We limit it to our understanding and our faith of what God can do, subconsciously even. But, there's something about true salvation that God reveals to you. You either reject it and waste opportunity upon opportunity or you take what God reveals to you. That this man of a child... You know, I was in a town where it was pouring with rain. It rained so much that they believe there's never been in the history of that town so much downfall. It was floods, the roads. And the rain started. Oh, it came through the day. But just when I was to go down to preach as a young preacher in this church, it poured so badly. No one came. Well, there were 20, 30 people maybe. And the nights, five nights went by and that was the last night comes when I'm to preach. And it was the worst rain of all. So I got depressed. I suppose you can't believe a preacher has the right to preach if he's ever been depressed, you know. Well, I really sat in that car and it was pouring. I said, Lord, no one can come. They can't get out of their driveway, can't come up the farmsteads from all around. No one can come, Lord. And now it's the last night and it's the worst of all. No one can come tonight. Why, Lord? I long to serve you in this town. I don't know if they'll ever let me back. And, Lord, the opportunity's gone. And I was really depressed. Anyway, I got out of the car that night. I remember being so disillusioned that I didn't bother about an umbrella. What's the difference? Anyway, there it was. So I ran with my Bible and my notes and I got to the door. They opened the door because it was... Well, I walked in and what happens? The whole church is full. Whoa! They're all wet and talking is loud. You know, everybody... So what do you do? Do you say, Forgive me, everyone I've been depressed and actually angry and given up, you know? No. How do you explain to people what was in your mind, you know? Anyway, I looked at them all and my heart just lifted up. And I asked God's forgiveness. Oh, I think what happened that night was they all decided, the Christians of the entire community, we'd better get there because this young man would probably believe there's no Christians in the town or very few. So, rain and all, we'd better somehow get there. So they made one effort and filled the whole church which was wonderful, okay? I'm preaching now with a joy in my heart and uplifted. And suddenly at the door there was a screaming. But I mean someone who was frantic, screaming. So much so, we all had to stop preaching. And I looked. At the back there, there were these elders and deacons, big men. They weren't hitting the poor man. It was a man under the influence of drink saying he wants to get into the meeting. So this man said, You're not coming in here. You're not destroying this meeting. You're not. And he pushed him with his tummy. Boom, out, you know, back into the rain. Anyway, I noticed something tragic. A little lady sitting in the front row with a very big Bible. But she looked like a lady. She dressed like a lady. Her face was serene, but she was weeping. And I noticed the people touching her and then coming and trying to comfort her. She just wept more and more. And I realized this drunk screaming at the door says, this woman's husband. And my heart so broke for her as she just started uncontrollably weeping as he screamed frantically at the door. And they tried to keep him out from destroying the whole meeting. And then suddenly, he screamed something that shook the entire building for the whole building stood up in shock. He screamed so loud, God told me that I have to be in this meeting. You will not stop me. God told me. He screamed weeping. They were shaken. His wife was shaken. Others, they all stood up. She just looked back at those words. They let him in. They shoved his arms behind one of the pews against the wall at the back. And he made a few noises. Everyone sat. The preacher said, go on, young man, go on. So I tried to preach. I preached for, I don't know, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, struggling because I was really broken and unnerved at this whole commotion. Then I said, I can't preach any further. I am so sorry. I have to stop now. Forgive me. But just in case there's anyone that God has spoken to, just in case there's anyone that wants to give your life to Christ and you know God, just tonight is perhaps God's final call. Then anyone, even if it's one, just come here to the front and we will pray with you. I'll come and pray with you for God to save your soul. That man stood. He was the only one. He came down the aisle. He fell. He hurt himself. He just sprawled on the aisle, sobbing, his head smashing against the pew, the whole place standing in compassion, helping him up. And he comes forward and he kneels in front of me. I was still in the pulpit. And he said, Help me. Help me to find God. So I went off. I knelt beside him. I prayed, God, I don't know what to do. But in case this is your final call and the only opportunity left for his soul to seek me, please give us both grace. And I prayed for him. He didn't pray. I prayed for him. Now you might not understand this. I'm still trying to comprehend it. The man sobered up totally, stood up so sober that he was startled. Everyone was startled. He looked at me, tears pouring down. His little face covering his eyes. He was saved. He never touched another drink in his life till he died. From that moment till he died, he was gloriously, mightily saved. Now, I'm not asking you to let drunks come off and tramps from the street. No. I'm not asking you to let men screaming out of the influence that normally would disturb and destroy a whole meeting to bring him in. No. What am I asking? I'm asking you to trust that there are so many instances where a man is impossible, where people wipe their hands of him, where there's no hope, where you wouldn't put hope, many people wouldn't put hope, but don't. I'm asking you to know that the power of this gospel of Christ is unlimited in this world. Don't ever doubt this now. Don't ever dare doubt this till the day you die for your drunk son, your drunk husband, your drunk father, like your little girl. Don't doubt this, beloved. Don't doubt this for God's sake for he died for them. That man didn't go around winning souls like the little girl's father did until he died all over the country. They say he did win souls, but what was so remarkable was he said he spent hours, he had been the magistrate of the entire district, highly esteemed and revered, by his position, education, and through socializing had become an alcoholic and the shame of his family and the scourge of his town. As he walked down the streets, they say, people stood, even the down-and-outs would stand because they had watched him, but now they saw him reconcile to God. People showed such reverence to this old man, in I think the nine years he lived before he died, and then his daughter said to me, Sir, what he did do is he spent hours with the Bible. Every day he just spent hours with God's Word. He just couldn't get enough of being alone with God and God's Word. Oh, beloved, when we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God, God swiftly reveals to us that the gospel of Christ is unlimited, unlimited in its saving power. And fourthly, if we are truly saved, if we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God, we will experience grief and sorrow and fear. We will experience grief and sorrow and fear at the awareness of the eternal judgment and suffering of all unsaved lost souls. A very godly woman, a missionary, shared with me how she had led a man to Christ, an old African-speaking man in Africa, a farmer in his old age, and he had come to Christ and knelt before God. She had led him, and she said it's her custom, this old missionary, it was her custom when she led a soul to Christ to share from the Holy Writ of the eternal suffering and damnation. And she quoted and quoted and quoted. And then she said it's her custom eternity with God, the damnation we've avoided by receiving Christ and the gift of eternal life rather than eternal damnation. And so while she was reading with this man that had just come to the Lord, he stopped her and said, Dharma, that's in Afrikaans, the language of the most Afrikaans, English or Europeans, as I say, and millions of blacks. And he says in that language, are you trying to tell me that everyone in this world that has not done what I have done here tonight with you is going to suffer like that in hell for all eternity? She looked startled at the old man and she said, Sir, it's not what I'm telling you. It's what God's Word says. It's what God says. So she read on. The smoke of their torment ascended up forever, forever and ever. They have no peace day or night. He will return in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord for the glory of God. She just read. Suddenly, she said, this old man, a very big man, fell down back on his knees and he started sobbing and he's so uncontrollably sobbing that she was startled. She wasn't used to this emotion. Many in the hall stopped praying with others. Everybody looked and tried to come towards to see what's going on. And she heard him say in his language, Oh God, oh God, no, agonizing at the thought of the suffering for eternity of multitude. No, it was a man saved for minutes weeping at the consciousness of the agony and damnation of the Lord. Have you ever, how long have you been saved? Have you ever once wept, shed a tear even if it's your heart, agonizing sorrow and grief for anyone other than your own soul? Christian, there he was minutes, minutes saved weeping at the consciousness of something you'd never know, the judgment of God upon the lost. And then he said, as she stood there listening, not knowing what to do, God, take my life and help me to warn everyone I can while I live. Now you might say that's a lot of emotionalism that you don't care for. Let me shock you. He became one of the great soul winners of my country before he died. He was known across the land in the evangelical circles as someone who led so many souls to God. He was one of those who were greatly used by God. God didn't look at that man and say this is hyper-emotionalism. God didn't turn his face away and say no way. God has to bypass multitudes of people who've been saved who don't care for any soul. That's tragic. That means you're a living tragedy. I was preaching in a town where an old man of 88 gave his life to Christ. After I'd preached he was weeping and weeping with joy that God had saved him. The conscience is the witness of the spirit. The spirit itself also beareth witness with our spirits that we are children of God. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself. We know we've passed from death unto life. One John 2 verse 3. Oh, he knew he was saved this 88 year old man. After he had prayed he knew and the joy of the Lord was in his heart and to consciousness. His children were all weeping and rejoicing with him after years of praying for his salvation because he didn't want to listen. And here they are rejoicing as he said because via habura I'm born again. I'm a child of God. And suddenly he says Mavach no right now. Vav is mama. Where's mommy? She never knew this. She never heard this. She never did this. I always thought when I die I'm going to mommy. But mommy never ever never ever did this or knew or heard this. Vav is mama. The children looked down and said daddy we'll never see mommy again. We will be with you in heaven forever daddy. You have us but we will never see mommy again. The man now rejoicing at his salvation the consciousness God has saved that only God can give and impart to a man. He falls back on his knees then on his face 88. They were so scared the way he shook sobbing. They thought he would die they're all down daddy daddy He prayed oh God no please we left we came back two years later the daughter said to me brother Daniel when you left he took the Bible and he marked all the verses from John chapter 3 you must be born again he said to man be born again he cannot see the king that which is born of the flesh is flesh just a child of your mother and father you're not a child of God no one's born a child of God you must be born again there has to be a spiritual birth another birth and it cannot be a child because the intellect is involved the free will the acceptance faith in the death of Christ the blood of the resurrected and that is when the Holy Spirit working in your heart sees your acceptance of all he's trying to work and show you and embracing by faith and he gives birth by the spirit we're born of a child of God pow he's born we're born again oh he took all the verses from the sermon that I had preached that shook him to his heart and made him seek God she said sir he walked out of the door when you left a day or two later and he went from home to home to home to home to home the next day home after home after home he went through this entire town there was not one home he had not visited he went to the lower town closer to the sea he went from every door in the apartments he went and they said he never went into one home he just stood at the door and shared weeping and showing the scriptures and the hell and the judgements and what God says that you not born a child of God and how John 3 goes on to 3.16 how by faith in the death of Christ and how God will not turn away anyone who comes to him through Christ Jesus he cannot oh and he pled with them to give their lives to Christ he came home she said one night he stood in the door and he looked at us and he said there's not one single soul in the entire community in the lower town there's not one door I have not been to I have been to every single home to share what was shared with me and as he said those words he just fell dead you see his mission was over and God took him home from this place called earth when that was done no missionary no preacher no Christian young or old had ever done that in that entire history of that town an 88 year old man did an 88 year old man did it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgment Hebrews 9 verse 27 it's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God Hebrews 10 verse 31 it is fearful to fall into the hands that will bear for all eternity the marks that he tasted death for every man who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2 verse 4 it's a fearful thing to fall into those hands if you have not prepared to meet with God before you die for after that death sir there's judgment it's fearful knowing knowing therefore the terror of the Lord knowing therefore the terror of the Lord we persuade men do you Paul said knowing therefore the terror of the Lord we persuade men 2 Corinthians 5 verse 1 let him know that he that converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death James 5 verse 19 Jude verse 22 of some have compassion making a difference others save with fear pulling him out of the fire have you ever had that written across your life is that fanaticism that's too going too far what God says in his holy word save with fear pulling have you ever feared for the souls you walk past that you literally the way you carry on you're pulling them out of the fire there's this drama in the word of God that's not to be accepted by rational people today has anyone in this world witnessed that you live this that this is your life this is your testimony oh doesn't that matter to you if we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God we will soon experience grief and sorrow and fear at the awareness of the judgment and eternal suffering of all unsaved lost souls that we pass and could have witnessed to but didn't and fifthly when we are truly saved when we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God we realize the value we realize the value God places on an eternal soul for the love of God this holy book says is said abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit is it the love of God was expressed from the cross is that the love in your heart that he tasted death for every man put you past men he died for if his Holy Spirit his love is said abroad in your heart for mankind oh if we are truly saved and rightly related to God we realize the value God places on an eternal soul by the Holy Ghost's compassion in us his burden his grief our burden is no good our compassion is not enough otherwise we are as good as the Jehovah Witnesses who don't really care apart from themselves as they go with doors slamming no the Holy Ghost we experience we know the value God has for his soul by his Holy Spirit in us I knew a great man of God who shared with me in the war a machine gun hundreds of souls dead lying and the few left this machine gun he just watched them falling the few left standing here and there in the mist and all the smoke going and there was this machine a man a very big man took him and covered his body and held him and his body was riddled from top to bottom with bullets fell down and as he lay dying as this man pushed him way out he said with a smile and a tear I'm ready to die I've prepared to meet with God but you haven't you need time so I die for you I give my life for you to have time I'm ready but you're not don't let me have died for nothing seek God for he had witnessed just before these bullets started coming seek God that I don't give my life to you for nothing he was so staggered he fell on his knees beside this man and sobbed his way through to Christ and Holy Spirit bore witness with his spirit and a peace flooded his heart that he never would have believed a human could experience or know from God the Holy Ghost the creator of eternal the whole heavens looks down at one sinner on his knees and gives him peace that passes all understanding or he looked around he was the only one that survived his friends childhood friends that went to war against Germany with the Allies he looked at parts of their bodies blown apart weeping he took the man's documents his little Bible that he had sat with him for a few minutes before this gun started he went down the hill saved and suddenly soldiers from all over started coming who had seen this battle on that hill and they're coming now and he said there's not one left I'm the only one the rest are all dead and then he shared with these six men what happened to him what that soldier did for him and how he went on his knees in agony a tormented soul this man had been and the peace that flooded him he led all six to Christ the first soul he saw after his salvation fell on their knees sobbing broken in what they had just heard of how God saved and spared this man's life and what that other Christian had done he went through the war witnessing in the barren in the trenches minutes before souls were blown up he had led them to Christ and as he walked through the camp one day he heard a group of soldiers all sitting and one shouted there he goes the forces soul were not the forces soul he became a preacher after the war and then the moderator of his denomination and mission societies across Africa he was loved and revered by multitudes became a household name in my country before he died Christ died for the lost would you for the salvation of one soul that Christ died for if we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God we realize the value of an eternal soul God places on that soul by the Holy Ghost within us not our own compassion but by God's Holy Ghost we give our lives for souls I'm going to ask every one of you sitting here today have you done anything of any inconvenience ever let alone die for a soul to win someone to Christ when when let alone give your life for the unsaved if we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God we become conscious that we are led and driven by God we become conscious that we are led and driven by God to desperate souls that he needs to still reveal his gospel to just as Philip was led by the Holy Ghost to the seeking but confused Ethiopian we become conscious more and more as we go on with God that we are led by God to souls I remember being told of a drug addict who was in this Christian place against his will a destroyed soul but a dangerous soul they said wild and angry they asked me to go and see him before he left the place because they didn't believe he would stay long so I went there the little lady at the foyer said oh you just missed him now we heard you were coming we've been praying you'd come before we knew he wouldn't stay you've missed him by twenty minutes Mr. Daniel I'm sorry he's gone you're too late I said lady I will not be able to face the people who've been praying all over telling me I had to get to this man before he left if I tell them he's gone before I got here because I've been delayed for these few days she said I'm sorry sir he's gone you don't understand you're too late I said surely there must be some address something she says these people don't have an address sir they live on the gutters they die in the gutters like animals how he stayed alive I don't know we were marveled that he even came here hoping he would listen the way he left if you want to see the state of the what he did to things and the way he left he'll never come back to you he's gone sorry I said listen what did he look like explain what he looks like I've got to find him she gave a description blond so I went in the car and I went around the block and I went around the next block and I was praying God please don't let him die before I find him please God and I went weeping around the streets agonizing blocks upon blocks upon blocks it became night I had to preach in the Lutheran church central Cape Town those days on a Saturday night there was multitudes of cars and the theatres and the night clubs and there's the church right in the heart of the city I'm sitting there with this man praying in the car and suddenly pow the whole car and I opened up and there was his face against my window covered in blood his whole head was gassed I don't know how he didn't know it's like he didn't realize he was just bleeding and he looked terrible wild like an animal and his face against the window the blood coming down my window and then he says give me money please I need money so I opened the car pushed him this man sitting next to me he said brother Daniel he's dangerous please get back in he's going to hurt you don't you get out I said no wait a minute leave me I got out you see I knew who this man was because I know God and I said his name you are and I gave his name he was so shaken under this influence of drugs that he said how do you know me who told you my name I don't know you I said listen carefully Lionel don't think God's mocking you or me bringing you look at these hundreds these thousands of cars look at these hundreds and hundreds of people in this city you came to this God the man that was praying I told him what happened who sent me how I was late he was gone how I went through praying I said God doesn't mock me or you bringing you to me in answer to my agony for you and other people who agonize for you before you die in the state you are the way you live and then I said words that shook me I'm scared to let you go because I don't know if you're going to be alive before the night's over so I'm going to ask you to give your life to Christ now and ask him to save your soul he went on his knees and down the street people stopping all around they couldn't believe this man on his knees and me on my knees I prayed for him and he prayed oh God I never believed you killed until now and he cried oh save me God save me please save now in heaven we will verify and confirm what I'm about to say God saved him in that moment totally he never touched another drug again you don't believe that of your God Christian if we are truly saved rightly related to God we become more and more conscious God leads us we are led by God the Holy Spirit and his love and compassion for that soul that he died for and most of us will be scared to go near Booth said we're too good for God to use us we're uncomfortable if we're down now to a tramp or a drunk or someone not our own culture our own language our own convictions or backgrounds comes in we'll be uncomfortable and they will too and we'll let them know they're not welcome here the church has become useless to God Booth said because we're too good for God to use us to reach the broken lives in their multitudes across this world oh he was the scourge of the church for a long time who attacked him undermined him until there were so many that turned to God across this world to this man's army that went out singing prostitutes drunks dressed in a uniform with one weapon a Bible singing onward Christian soldiers marching to war oh we become more and more conscious we are led by God driven led to souls that are desperately needing his salvation if we are truly saved and remain rightly relegated to God we experience a God-given boldness and courage that we never had before our salvation never would have believed and no one would have believed of us we experience a God-given boldness and courage in our attempt to reach men and declare the truth to them I am made all things to all men that I might by all means no matter what it save some that's someone I am made all things anything not compromise so to all men that I might by all means no matter what it is or cost save some that's someone who's saved and truly rightly related to God otherwise you're a total grief to God and man if it isn't your testimony and I would be a grief to God to say any less in the pulpit of God for then I'm scared to be truthful we experience a boldness and a courage that's God-given may be frowned upon by men especially when we're young but it staggers the powers of hell Andrew Murray he was my best man at my wedding not the old Andrew Murray you see I'm not that old his great-great-grandson okay young Andrew we preached together oh we preached to many multitudes and ran down streets after souls ah he was a godly boy well Andrew Murray when we were young we the two of us would go out town after town it was our custom in the morning to go house to house or in the town to go with pamphlets and little notices with testimonies and scriptures and give them out everywhere put them in the little windscreen of our cars around the city if it's a town you know just to try somehow to get the news of the meetings that we were preaching and for a week and wherever the venue was well he said to me listen keep the motor going don't switch it off just hang on I won't be long but don't switch the car off just stay there I've got something to do ok so the car's idling and I look up after a little while and here comes young Andrew running but I mean running with a whole lot of men running behind him and they didn't look too happy now the car's idling I'm telling you here was a man running and as he got to the car they were catching up and they were trying to beat him well so he dives in the car pulling his drive and you know they actually climbed on the car two of them what are we going to do they fell off a bit what do you do so I said what on earth did you do I went into a mosque and all the shoes you know it's sacred you know in the foyer hundreds of shoes I was putting all the last pampers the jacks in all the shoes around here and suddenly someone realized ran in there screaming the next thing they come out screaming grabbing things and coming at me so I ran after a while I did laugh at first I was a bit angry but still putting my life in danger like that for the Muslims anyway yes we might laugh at that but maybe we had more fire than we had wisdom but we had fire hallelujah you can forgive a young Christian preacher for not having too much wisdom not for long anyway but you can forgive him but one thing you will not forgive him for having is if he doesn't have fire you forgive a man for his mistakes if he's full of the fire of God enough to go and do things like that and those men will never forget someone tried at peril to his own life but they tried if we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God we are filled with a fear a despair at the thought of standing empty handed before God in this brief moment called life is gone and that's all you've got one brief moment if you haven't woken up to that you're in for a shock the greatest shock you'll ever have in life a young person is how short it is when you think it's just beginning it's gone don't waste life because it's gone in one moment and you will never reclaim that moment back for eternity if we are truly saved rightly related to God we are filled with fear and despair at the thought of standing before God if we are empty handed if we're saved my darling father saved when he was 51 from being an alcoholic much sadness much sadness throughout life from a little boy but he got mightily saved so greatly saved that the powers of hell I believe are still trembling my darling father suddenly after his salvation he had this heart attack because of all the drinking the smoking the heavy and the stress of life because he had worked himself to the top of his profession in the nation and all the responsibilities he was indispensable and it just drove him and socializing to more and more drinking and despairing but that he was now saved mightily saved gloriously saved but it was a while after and here he has his heart attack so I go there and he's weeping he's really weeping so I sit beside daddy are you suffering that daddy's weeping like this are you in pain he looks at me quite startled no no daddy wouldn't weep for that my boy daddy's dying and I can sow no soul to God I've tried Keith I've begged I've prayed I've witnessed I've left tracks I've been to people I've pledged with them I've wept with family Keith I can sow not one soul I have not one soul I'm going to stand before God empty handed do you know what that is my boy to know you've got no time and there's nothing to sow God with your own soul you Keith are young and strong you have your life ahead of you and you can win the world to God and I'm praying you will daddy's finished my time's gone my boy and I'm standing before God in a moment empty handed my boy do you know what he is to me he went on his knees and sobbed uncontrollably I started sobbing as I knelt beside him with my arms around him someone else was sobbing someone else was weeping don't dare believe he wasn't he wept on this earth he has to bypass me millions of people who talk about salvation before he finds a man on his knees sobbing in brokenness and despair that he has no souls to sow God and he's dying empty handed well I went preaching he had another heart attack mother phones and says daddy's had another attack the doctor the specialist who he knew well said just get him down just leave your preaching get here as fast as you can boy that he's calling for you and he's dying the doctor said he won't last now so I went back to our town went to the hospital and there were two men that I asked to meet me at the door two loved and revered famous names in our country household names in the evangelical circles greatly used by God and they met me at the door and I said listen take this oil I want you to anoint my father and to pray for God to spare him and I told them what my father had said as he wept he has no souls he needs time I wanted to ask God to give him time to win souls that he doesn't stand before God empty handed I want you to anoint my father now and ask God to heal him to give him time they just looked at me I don't know why so long four minutes just looked at me eventually he put oil in my daddy's forehead they put their hands on daddy there the two of them gently not screaming just a tender soft voice father we cannot demand anything of thee but we can ask in faith because of the promises that thou has held out if it be thy will to give this man the desires of his heart time and souls because extended time is granted please would thou not heal him and give him time in Jesus the Christ name well they left I didn't I pulled the seat out from under the hospital bed in the war day and I sat and I waited I waited after a few hours daddy woke up he had all these things inside him looks around looks at me his eyes and he pulls and I said daddy don't he says I'm healed my boy God's healed daddy I knew God had healed my father and I knew why why God healed him and doesn't heal many many others we pray for I knew why I left daddy got up off his bed walked to the room next to him very good private hospital but there he was he led his first soul to Christ when you do that you're ruined you're finished for anything there's nothing you will give you more joy very little will ever happen to you in life than to know that God used you as base as you are to bring a soul from eternal hell to show him the way that he knows he's facing eternal life with God and forgiven because of what you did what you did in showing in the scriptures oh he was ruined daddy went to the next room oh led that man to Christ went to every single little room in the entire floor of this really exclusive hospital every single person he led to Christ some died that day some died the next day some a week later were gone but they were saved now what does daddy do goes downstairs to one of the wards you know it's not private little rooms and he goes from bed to bed and he's leading them all to Christ and he says pray you could die today don't take a child and there they are giving their lives to Christ eventually the nurses find out that there's no one in this bed so where's this man that's dying they're running their alarm was set off actually they found him praying with somebody you know you can't be out of bed what is he who come back and are they dragging him angrily back to his bed what did he do he led them both to Christ the two nurses saved how do I know well we saw them years later the little jack daddy gave out that hundreds and hundreds of thousands have been spread across southern Africa and he wrote of his testimony of salvation and the scriptures that he so loved and found in his search to reach be used by God well there he was they had printed so many and they said every single soul that comes into this hospital since your daddy's death since your daddy was here we have given a tract to and said you read this for your soul sake and you could face eternity you need to know what life was for and what God offers you and they prayed with many oh we do bless God at daddy's funeral there were so many people in this large church that there was no place for them standing around the wall standing behind the pulpit standing in the foyer and they kept coming and I said to my brother you preach I'm sitting with mother you preaching so I was sitting with my mother as they were moving the loudspeakers out of the foyer onto the because people were now gathering in the parking area there was no room to come in and they wanted me to hear the sermon and the honoree at my father's memorial service so I said to mother mommy look around I don't know every face but mommy most of the faces I'm looking at daddy led to Christ whether they were wealthy businessmen some of the wealthiest in this nation that came to Christ when he came to Christ whether they were drunks daddy led them to the Lord look at them after the service a very wealthy man said to my mother and me at the door would you honor us with the privilege of making Mr. Daniel's tombstone it's tombstone they said not grave stone so we told them the details a few months later mother said to me you come with me I want to show you what those men have done I couldn't believe my eyes it was like a like a king's tombstone wow what have they done then we read the things we asked them to read to write on my father's grave stone but they had written words that we didn't ask them to these businessmen across the top he walked with God I said mother those words daddy's life demanded that would be written on his grave stone would they have anything demanded by your life when you die apart from birth death and who survived is your life demanded now anything of your life if we're truly saved remain rightly related to God we are filled with fear and despair at the thought of standing before Christ empty handed or wasting one moment of a limited moment called life the time that we must redeem and not spend wasting it on rubbish rubbish while souls go to hell in their multitudes and we sit in our comfort zone if we remain truly rightly related to God after our salvation we are soul winners till our last breath till our last breath how do you know whether your mission in life is finished how do you know whether your mission in life is finished if you're still alive it isn't Richard Bach the great Irene Tauty one of the great soul winners of Africa who died as a young lady back from internal countries those days where she had come back riddled with all diseases from the rivers she led so many souls to Christ when she came back also had started as an 18 year old girl now in her 30s returns to die having given her life for souls so the specialist sits with her and says this machine to keep a person alive with liver you have to be attached to this machine to keep alive we can extend your life but we are limited many years ago in Africa we were limited with the amount of machines available and he said there's only a certain percentage now we have to ask and I'm compelled to ask you questions before we choose whether you can be given access to this machine to extend your life otherwise you're going to be dead within a little while and so a few questions but then he said listen here's his last question what reason can you give me as to why we should choose you allow you access to this machine which means others will die who will not be allowed access because we choose you what reason can you give me that we should choose you he told me this she looked at him gently with a smile on her face and a tear coming down her cheek she said sir if you allow me access to this machine that I can have my life extended even if it's a few months I will give everything of my being to bring people to Christ I have done that from the age of 18 but what's left of life I will give every faculty of my being to witness to bring people to Christ and she started sharing the scriptures that he had never heard the specialist told me that he got up broken got on his knees in front of this lady and said dharma lady then you lead me to Christ if that's what you live for that's how he got saved when I in doubt he did die as she was dying she led the two nurses to Christ and this young male and nurse or assistant I don't know some fellow there she led the three of them to Christ and died her last breath if we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God we are so when it's still our last breath beloved the last breath and if we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God we will be driven and consumed with the desire to become equipped by God to be effective in reaching the lost we will study to show ourselves approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth we study we give ourselves if we are truly saved and remain rightly related to God we are driven and consumed with God's love in us with the desire to become equipped by God himself from this book effectively to reach the lost the heart of the righteous studyeth to answer Proverbs 15 verse 28 the heart of the wise teacheth his mouth and addeth learning to his lips Proverbs 16 verse 23 that the communication of thy faith may become effectual that the sharing of thy faith may be effective Philemon verse 3 instructing those that oppose themselves if God per adventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth that they might receive that they might recover themselves out of the snare of the devil who are taken captive by him you see this is why we go out with instruction from the book they that be wise shall sign as the brightness of the firmament they that turn many to righteousness shall sign as the stars forever and ever Daniel 12 verse 30 can we stand please here are the ten points of a sermon of what I and probably no other preacher in the entire world would ever dare to say are the evidences if you are truly saved Keith from the next step till your last you will be a soul winner oh I doubt you've been saved here tonight those words burned into my soul they still burn in my soul daily 50 years later yes so Mr. Covell are you here there you are would you commit us to Christ please if you're not saved for God's sake get saved tonight or do you honestly think there's no possibility that this is God's final call to you cause you're so fine oh so many have died minutes after I've preached so many families so many souls young people chopped in half 20 minutes after I don't be sure that you've got another meeting coming and if you're saved what's left of life you will live this unless you put your fist up into the face of God tonight and say NO what do you think you're doing if you go on the same as you have been sir while you profess to know how to find the gift of eternal life and have avoided eternal suffering and damnation what are you doing if you stay the same
