Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Sermon Transcription
When anyone receives revelation in the Word of God, it sometimes conflicts with what he has previously been taught. This causes you to have to deal with old traditions or wrong teaching. These tapes may contain some new light from God's Word, and it may be opposed to some traditions you have previously learned. Therefore, follow through these messages in your Bible, in sequence, in order that you may be able to make a choice for the Word of God, rather than the traditions of men. This is tape number seven in a series. We urge you to listen to all the tapes in the series in numerical order, so that the whole teaching can be received and understood. Listening to a part of the series, or to the tapes out of sequence, can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. Now, we know there's an image of the beast. Let me ask you something. Do you think people that worship the gold calves or the image of this, do you think they have become harlots? As adults, is that exactly what we saw in James 3 and 4, double-minded, speaking blessings and curses? Is that right? Well, we see in Revelation 17, we see verse 1, the last part there, I show you the judgment is going to come upon the great harlot. And in verse 2, with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality, that's she's teaching immorality. And in verse 4, the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls. Now, you know who this woman is. This woman, you know, we read earlier that the ones that have the mark of God, this one is not defiled with a woman. This is the woman right here they're not defiled with. This is the harlot for Babylon church. Amen. And so they'll teach you morality and passions that you can walk in this defilement to the Lord. And so we see there, the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls. And what does she have? This harlot church has in her hand a gold cup and it's full of what? Abominations. Abominations of unclean things of immorality. And I want to show you something about these abominations right there that she's giving people. This is Babylon, the harlot church. Now hold your place and turn to chapter 21. 21. Now people that receive that abomination, these abominations, they drink from this cup that this harlot whore church gives people. And we're going to be talking more about there. Now, verse 6, he said, Is it done? I'm the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I'm going to give the one who thirsts from the spring of water of life without cause. He who what? I can't hear you. One more time. What do you got to overcome? You've got to overcome sin, the world and the devil. Amen? He who overcomes shall inherit these things. The one who overcomes shall inherit these things. The one that overcomes shall inherit these things. The one that overcomes shall inherit these things. And then I'm going to be as God and these are the ones who are going to be as God. But for the cowardly, they fear men and other things. Unbelieving, unbelieving is defiled. Abominable, murderers, immoral persons, sorcerers, idolaters, people who have idols in their hearts, and all liars. Their part is going to be where? In a lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is a second death. Does your Bible say right there that you're going to come overcome immorality, sorcery, idolatry, lying, immorality, murdering, unbelieving? Is that what your Bible says? Well, and if you don't do it, where do you get to live at? Is that what your Bible says? All right, now, if you look further in verse 27, we're still talking about heaven and nothing unclean. Now, may I ask you something? What does 2 Corinthians 14 say? Do not be unevenly yoked. Come out from the midst of them and do not touch what is unclean. And then I'm going to be a father to you and you're going to be sons and daughters to me. Is that right? All right, nothing unclean, nothing unclean, and no one who practices what? I can't hear you. If you practice sin, you practice abomination. Now, what does this harlot, whore church has a cup and it's full of what? It's full of abominations and lying shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Now, I want you to recall something. If we see in Galatians 5, 19 through 21, that the fruit or the works of the flesh are obvious, is that right? Evident? The deeds of the flesh are evident? That's abomination. It's all rebelling to God. And it goes on in the name, and the things like these, those who practice these things shall not enter into the kingdom of God. We saw this same thing in Ephesians 5, 5 and 6, that if you practice these things, you'll not enter in the kingdom of Christ or the kingdom of God, and it's all, don't be deceived by empty words. This is what we're seeing. Now, this whore, harlot, charlotte church is saying exactly what Satan said to Eve, that you can participate in this rebellion in your heart and you surely shall not die. That's the doctrine of Satan then. It's the doctrines of demons today. And this is what the harlot, whore right here is doing. So, in Revelation 17, verse 4, and the pearls have in their hand a gold cup, it's full of abominations and of unclean things, of her immorality, and upon her forehead, she doesn't have the mind of Christ, though she has a harlot forehead, upon her forehead a name was written, a mystery, Babylon the Great. She's a mother of harlots, it's a church that produces harlots, and of what? There it is, abominations of the earth, and the ones that practice these abominations don't go to heaven. Amen? Is that right? Now, in Revelation 18, so if you're receiving doctrines of demons, wonder what the church is full of? Demons. So, we see in chapter 18, verse 2, he cried out with a mighty voice saying, fallen, fallen is Babylon, or fallen away. Is Babylon the Great? She's become a dwelling place of what? She's become a dwelling place of demons, and she is a prison of every unclean spirit. Now, what do you think an unclean spirit will produce? Uncleanness. And when you touch what is unclean, then you're dealing, you're opening up yourself to unclean spirits, right? So, this is a dwelling place and a resting place for demons. Is that right in this place? All right, now, if you look at verse 4, well, let's look at verse 7 to the degree that she glorified herself. Now, this church brings glory to herself, right? She lives sentiently, or after the flesh, to the same degree give her what? Torment and mourning. In other words, a hedge comes down on her, and she is in torment and mourning. And that's what these dwelling places of demons do, is that right? They bring torment and mourning, and a lot of you have been set free from that, some of those things, not totally, but some of them. Well, here's what her problem is. She's saying in her what? She's saying in her heart, I am, or just like Satan, I am. There's no one like me, or whatever. I sit as a queen. Jesus is the king, and I'm the queen. I'm not a widow. I'm the queen. I'll never see mourning, no curse, and no torment can come on me. Peace, safety. Are you seeing it? So, here's what the voice from heaven is saying, come out of her who? My people. Come out of her that you may not participate in her what? Sins. And we're told to avoid such men as these. That you may not participate in her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues and sicknesses. Well, that's literally what it means. Now, I want you to know another name that sees the doctrine of this cup that she hands people to drink these abominations. When you drink them, it's an image of the beast. Their doctrines are an image of the beast. That's what it produces. You become the image and likeness of Satan, because if you have a doctrine that does not conform you to godliness, you have a doctrine that conforms you to ungodliness. If this gospel here conforms you to godliness, another doctrine conforms you to the image of Satan, the beast. Amen? Okay. See, now look here. Now, I want you to remember, there is a beast that's going to rise up out of the earth. It has horns like a, it looks like a lamb, but it speaks like what? These abominations are in her heart. Foul hearts coming out of her mouth, speaking the words of Satan. They say they're the church. Amen? All right, now, I want you to back up to Zebaniah 2. Zebaniah 2. Zebaniah chapter 2. In Jerusalem, the heavenly city that we're supposed to be in, a lot of people think they're in that city, don't they? Well, in verse 15, Zebaniah 2, 15, this is the exultant city which dwells what? Securely. It's a false security. Who says where? In her heart. I am, there's no one besides me. I'm the king and there's, Jesus is the king and I'm the queen. How she's become a what? Desolation. No word, no water, no fruit. She's become a resting place for what? Another way to say that is a dwelling place of what? It's a dwelling place of demons. Everyone who passes by her will hiss, wave his hand in contempt. Is that what you see happening? All right, now, in chapter 3. Woe to her. Are there going to be some woes later on in Revelation? All right. Woe to her who is rebellious and what is that word? Defiled heart. She's saying she's the Lord, but the things of the devil is coming out of her heart. Amen? Defiled, the tyrannical city. She doesn't heed no voice. She doesn't heed the word of God. She will not accept instruction from the Lord, the Holy Spirit. She does not trust in the Lord and she will not draw near to her God. Now, let me ask you something. Is that exactly what we saw in James chapter 7 and 8 right there that you're going to draw near to God and you're going to resist the devil? See, this is the opposite. She doesn't do this. Now, verse 4. Her prophets, her preachers are reckless, treacherous men. Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. Now, how do you profane the sanctuary? Look at me, folks. When you speak things, it causes your temple to be defiled. Are you hearing me? Defiled. They have done violence, in other words, perverted the law or perverted the word of God. Now, I want you to always remember in Romans 8, 7 that those who love any part of the flesh, they're going to be hostile to God and they will not subject themselves to the word of God because their heart is love and rebellion when you love the flesh. Amen? Okay. Now, I want you to turn with me to Deuteronomy 30. Now, I want to tell you something about flesh and the Bible. Flesh only wants to deal with the blessings. It never wants to deal with judgment or curses or anything. That's flesh. It won't do it. Flesh only likes to talk about the blessings in the Bible, curses. That's deception. The flesh doesn't want to talk about dying to the flesh, really walking in holiness or righteousness. Flesh wants to talk about peace and safety. Flesh doesn't want any judgment because it's hostile to that part of the word of God. I want you to remember that. So there is no fear of God where this flesh is. The fear of God is not there. Now, we saw in Deuteronomy 29 last night in verse 16, you know how we lived in the world, how we passed through the nations, verse 17, and you have seen their what? Now, these are the abominations that Babylon feeds, gives, this poor harlot church gives the people to drink. You see the abominations there? And these abominations are they produce idols of wood, gold, silver, all these things, and Babylon lets people's hearts go after these things. And so we see in verse 18 that your heart turns away and you serve a God and then there's a root that bears forth poisonous fruit. Now, let me ask you something. What if you have a root of unforgiveness or bitterness? You know what's going to be coming out of your mouth? It's going to be criticism, judgment, and these kind of things. So it's going to bear poisonous fruit. The root in there of bitterness and unforgiveness is going to bear poisonous fruit. Amen? Okay, now we just go on. And it shall be when he hears the words of this curse that the people who walk this way say they have peace, though they walk in the stubbornness of their heart and they destroy the watered land with the dry. You see that? Now, chapter 30, verse 2. And you return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons. I want to start in verse 1. So it shall be when all these things have come upon you, and we've been talking about the blessings and curses, it's over in chapter 28, that I've set before you and you've called into mind in all the nations which your Lord your God has banished you. And then you return to the Lord your God, and that's what we're doing today. And you obey him with some of your heart. You obey him with all your heart. You obey him with all your heart. All your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons. Now, if you look with me in verse 6. Moreover, the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your descendants to love the Lord your God with how much of your heart? All your heart and with all your mind, will and emotions in order that you may live. That's your soul, in other words, right? And verse 11. For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult, it's not too difficult, nor is it out of reach. Now, many people say today that when they're talking about those, that God would heal the sicknesses and things in the old covenant, in the blessings and so forth, that, well, God knew when he wrote this that people couldn't obey the word. And so you see right there, he said the commandment is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. Right? All right, now, go with me to verse 14. But the word, the word of God is very near you. It's in your mouth and it's in your what? It has to be in your heart and then it comes out your mouth. Is that right? That you may what? You may observe it. And he said, I want you to see that I'm set before you today what? You either have life and prosperity or there's death and adversity. You choose one or the other. Amen? Is that right? Now, we go on to the next verse. I've set before you God says if you choose life, you're going to walk and obey the Lord. Is that right? Is that right? And just close that door. Or you have death and adversity. One of the two. You either have life or you have death. Amen? Now, that's a choice you have today right now. 16. And I command you today to love the Lord your God to what? You're going to walk in whose ways? His ways and you're going to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgment that you're going to live. Now, that's going to be life. And you're going to multiply that the Lord your God may bless you and the land where you're entering to what? You're entering to possess it. But now, have we got a land to possess? Have there always been a land to possess? Everybody God's ever made covenant with has had a land to possess. Amen? And the only way you can possess that land, the same thing he started out with Abraham. Abraham said, how am I going to know I want to possess the land? And then he went in and told him, because we're going to split an animal right here, we're about to make covenant. And I am everything you aren't. Right? Now, but if your heart is issued, mark that. But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, you're not going to obey the Lord, but are what? What's those two words? You're drawn away. What's going to draw your heart away? Are we warned in second Corinthians 11, if you care to write it there, that we could be drawn away by the powers of darkness is going to bring another gospel, another Jesus and a different spirit. Are we warned that that way our minds could be drawn away also? Paul says, I fear for you, but you're drawn away. And then you're going to want, you're going to worship other gods and serve them. Now, let me ask you something. If your heart is full of greed, you're loving for the world, the things in the world, pride, ego, rebellion, and all these things. Do you understand that you're serving demons? If you practice these things and don't give them up, may I just tell you plainly, you're serving demons. Your heart is serving them. And that means your heart is bowed down to them. All right. Now, verse 18, I declare to you today that you shall surely, what? Back then they would surely perish. And may I tell you, it hasn't changed. God's still God. And he doesn't give in, come along because you're a nice fellow or something like that. And you make some kind of mental assent that Jesus Christ, the son of God, died on the cross and raised the dead and then walk in rebellion with your fist shaken in God's face. That's the reason. That's the reason demons are there. That's what we're getting set free from last night. They're there because that rebellion has not worked. Amen. So I declare today that you shall surely perish. You shall not prolong your days in the land where you're crossing the Jordan to enter and possess it. Now you're going to possess the land. Is that right? You're going to cross the Jordan. Well, I'll tell you what, in Joshua 3, let me just mention this to you. Joshua 3 is the time where they were going to possess the land and they had the ark. And this ark represents Jesus, which has in it the rod, which is authority, the tablet, which is the word and everything. And so they were, he told them, he said, you don't touch this ark. You keep your distance from it. You follow after it because you're going away you've never been before. May I tell you that's where you're headed if you're following the ark today. That ark is Jesus. He said, don't touch it. Now he killed over 50,000 people for looking in it one time. He killed a man when he wanted to put it on a new cart. That ark is on a lot of new carts today. But then the Lord said, you're not going to carry it on a cart. You're only going to carry it on holy, sanctified shoulders. And what happened? They were going to cross the Jordan to possess the land. Amen? So he said, now what they first said to himself, they separated themselves and they were holy unto the Lord. And the priest took this ark and they walked out there. And when they stood in the water, what did they stand on? The word of God. They stood in the water right there. They stood with the gospel of peace on their feet right there. The waters parted and the whole church crossed Jordan to possess the land right there. The waters were held back. Amen? Now we're going to cross Jordan and you're going to do it by standing in the word of God because it's all God and it's not us. Amen? And this ark is Jesus and it's going to be carried on holy shoulders, sanctified shoulders. Now, verse 19, I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I've set before you. Here it is. Now mark it. There's life or there's death. There's either the blessing or there's the curse. Demons aren't blessings. So you better what? You better choose life in order that you may live you and your descendants. You better choose God. If you choose against him, it's not good. Now, we'll come back here in just a minute. I want you to turn with me to Jeremiah 8 in just a moment. Jeremiah 8. And I'm going to read something to you out of Romans 8, verse 6. For the mind set on the flesh is death. Now you can choose that. If you choose flesh, you choose death. Amen? But the mind set on the spirit being led by the spirit is life and peace. Amen? In the spirit of God, you're walking in peace and there's life ministered to you. Amen? Because the mind set on the flesh, it's hostile toward God. It's in rebellion to God. And it's not going to subject itself to the word of God. Now, so you choose death by walking after the flesh and when you want to hold on to the flesh, rebellion. Now we see in Jeremiah 8, verse 5, why then has this people, Jerusalem, turned away? Now I want to start up there in verse 3. And death will be chosen rather than life, but all the remnant that remains of this evil family that remains in all the places which I've driven them, declares the Lord of hosts. And you shall say to them, thus says the Lord, do men fall down and not get up again? Does one turn away and not repent? Why then is this people, Jerusalem, turned away? And there it is, continual apostasy. That's practicing rebellion to God. That's the falling away. They hold fast to deceit. That's lust. The flesh is deceit. They refuse to return or repent. I've listened and heard and they've not spoken what is right. They don't speak what is right. They speak traditions. No man's really taught to turn. You know, it's encouraged that you can practice that instead of repenting and turning from it. No one says, what have I done? Everybody just turns to what? His course. They're like a horse charging into the battle. And that's exactly what it said in 2 Timothy 4, 3 and 4, the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrines, but they're having their ears tickle. They're going to accumulate themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires. And then you turn away from the truth. You just find you a doctor and a teacher where you can just walk in your own course. They're like a horse charging into battle. Even a stork in the sky knows their seasons, and a turtle dove and a swift and a thrush observe the time of their migration, but my people do not know the word or the ordinance of God. And you know, how can you say we're wise? And the law of the Lord or the word of the Lord is with us. Now here's why people think the word of the Lord is with them. Because the lying pen of the writers and scribes and literature, books, they've twisted it and made it into a lie. Now verse 11, and they heal the brokenness of the daughter of my people superficially while they're saying peace, peace, but there is no peace. Where there is shame because of the what? What's that word? Do you see the abomination wrenching? That's what the harlot poor church we're reading about does. She feeds abominations. They've done. They're certainly not ashamed. They don't even know how to blush. Therefore, they should fall among those who fall at the time of their punishment. They're going to be brought not up, they're going to be brought down, declares the Lord. In verse 13, they get snatched in the wrong direction. Amen? And chapter 11, surely I'll snatch them away. In chapter 11, I just want to read a couple of verses here. Verse 8, yet they did not obey or incline to hear, but they walked how? In the stubbornness of their evil heart. Therefore, I brought up them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did not. Everybody just walking their stuff. Don't have a repentant heart. They have a stubborn heart and that's how they're walking. So he brought on them all the words, all the words means all the curses. Are you hearing me? Now, I just wanted you to see something else in verse 11. Thus says the Lord, behold, I'm bringing disaster on them, which they will not be able to escape, though they will cry to me, yet I'm not going to listen to them. Now, chapter 12, chapter 12, verse 7, I've forsaken my house. I've abandoned my inheritance. I've given the beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies. My inheritance has become to me like a lion in the forest. They roared against me. You know, people blaming God for what the devil does. Therefore, the Lord's inheritance, he's talking about his inheritance, like a speck of bird of prey to me. Aren't the birds of prey? That's the powers of darkness against your own every side. Go gather all the beasts of the field. That's how it becomes a dwelling place. Bring them to what? The beasts, the powers of darkness, they're bringing them to devour. What's the problem? Verse 10, many shepherds have ruined my vineyard. They're planting the wrong seed. They have trampled down my field. They've made my pleasant field a desolate wilderness. It has been made a desolation, desolate. It mourns before me. The whole land has been made desolate. Why? It's a desolation because the abomination, because no man lays a word to heart, no fruit. On all the bare heights in the wilderness, what has come? Destroyers have come. The sword of the Lord, that's the curse, is devouring. He's turned them loose. The hedge is down. From one end of the land even to the other, there is no peace for anyone. Do you see that? I mean, when the destroyers are there, they don't let you have any peace. And they're there because of sin. Amen? All right, now, verse 13, they have sown wheat and they've reaped thorns. They have strained themselves to no profit. But be ashamed of your harvest because of the what? The fierce anger of the Lord. Who has the anger of the Lord? Satan has the anger of the Lord. And that's why he comes in and he abandons his inheritance and he gives them over to his enemies, the ones that hate him. And that's the power of the darkness, right? Boy, I'm going to tell you something. We've been having some of the best times in the Lord we've ever had here in the last few days. I just feel God's blessings more here now as much as I ever have. I'm not kidding you. I've never seen people get more help than they are right now. And I've never had more understanding about overcoming. Have you, aren't you? You know, there's some things are new and there's things I didn't know, but you know all this. The whole focus now, as you know, the Pharisees had to have it all before they'd receive any part of it. But we just have to walk with what we have. But see, everything points to love. Is that right? I mean, it's love or it's judgment. One of the two, isn't that right? Love or judgment. You're going to walk in love or you're going to walk in judgment. The wrath of God on you. Now in, uh, 31, look in verse 26, Deuteronomy 31, verse 26. Now I would have said, I'll cut them to pieces. I'll remove the member of them from men. Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy, lest their adversaries who have misjudged let you say our hand is triumphal, then the Lord is not done there. I've still got myself another Bible right here. See, it's in the wrong place. That's how I just wondered if you'd notice it. Here it is. After he'd given him all these, uh, warnings, you can see in verse 17, he said, then my anger is going to be kindled against them in that day. I'll forsake them and hide my face. His presence is gone from them. And then look in verse 26, take this book of the law and place it beside the ark of the covenant. Now that's that same ark is going, Joshua's crossing the Jordan with. Oh, the Lord, your God, that it may remain there as a witness against you. What's going to judge us in life days, the word of God going to judge us in life days? Absolutely. It's not going to be judging how you appeared to people or numbers or nickels or whatever. It's going to be judged by your motive, your heart, right? Verse 27, he's, he's warned him to say, I know your rebellion and you're stubborn. Don't have repentant hearts. You have a stubborn heart. You love rebellion. I know your rebellion and your stubbornness behold, I am still alive with you today. You have been rebellious against the Lord. Now that's what a stubborn heart does. It is in rebellion to God. How much more than after my death. Now in verse 28, a symbol to me, all the elders of your tribes and your officers, that I may speak these words in their hearing and call the heavens and earth to witness against them. Well, I know that after my death, you're going to act what? Corruptly. You remember that the divine nature leads you from corruption in second Peter one four, but I know that after my death, you will act corruptly and turn away from the way which I've commanded you. And evil will befall you in the latter days for you will do that, which is evil in the side of the Lord. And then you're going to provoke him to what? Anger. How are you going to provoke him with anger? With the what? Work of your hands. He's going to move the heads and there they come. And that plane, when you start, your heart starts worshiping the works of your hands. All right. Now in chapter 32, now begin reading with me in verse three, for I proclaimed the name of the Lord, ascribed the greatness to our God. Verse four, Jesus, who is the rock, his work is perfect for all his ways are just a God of faithfulness without injustice. Righteous and upright is he. Verse six. Do you thus repay the Lord? Oh, foolish and unwise. Now the opposite of foolish and unwise is a wise people, a wise virgin. Is that right? Do you repay the unwise people? Is not he your father who has brought you? He has made you and established you. Verse eight, when the most high gave the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of man, he set the boundaries of the people according to the numbers of the sons of Israel. For the Lord's portion is his people. Jacob is allotment of his inheritance. Verse 12, the Lord also guided him and there was no foreign God with him. Verse 13, he made him ride on the high places of the earth and he ate the produce of the field, made him suck honey from the rock. What is this honey? It's the word of God. Then the rock is a type of Jesus. Isn't that right? Also the oil from the plenty rock. Well, the oil of the spirit. Now we see in verse 15, but Jeshurun, that's a type of Israel right there, grew fat and kick, Laodicea. He already arrived. You've grown fat, thick and sleek. And when they've already arrived, they forsook God who made him and they scorned Jesus, who is the rock of his salvation. Amen? Is that saying something to you, you believe? Verse 16, they made the rock jealous with their strange gods, letting the hearts go after the works of darkness. And with abominations, these abominations, is that what the Babylon gives people, a cup of abomination? With abomination, they provoked him to what? Anger. And look what else, they were sacrificing in their hearts to what? Demons who were not God, to gods. Do you see there how demons are called God? When you're talking about the gods of wood and stone and silver and gold, you see right here you're talking about demons. Amen? To gods which they've not known, new gods who came lately, whom your fathers did not dread. Now verse 18, the next step, you neglected the rock who begot you, you neglected Jesus, you forgot the God who gave you birth. Isn't this plain? Now verse 20, then he said, I'm going to hide my face from them, my presence is going to leave. I will see what their end shall be, for they are perverse generation, perverted, sons in whom there is no faith. Well, he's not faithful to the word of God, it's just a form of godliness. Verse 22, for a fire is kindled in my what? Anger. He's moving a hedge, his presence is leaving, he's removing a hedge. And it burns to the lowest part of shield or hail and consumes the earth with its yield. It sets on fire the foundations of the mountains. Verse 23, I'm going to heap misfortunes on them, that's when he turns the powers of darkness loose, he moves his hedge. I'll use my arrows on them. Now let me just mention this to you, many of you, what's your mouth shaped like? A bow. Isn't that right? And when you speak, you know, and this is what God says, you know, when he speaks, he speaks and turn them loose. And there comes the arrows, the arrows of the powers of darkness, judgment. Now, they are there. Now let's see, where were we? What verse were we there? 24. They shall be wasted by famine and consumed by plague. You see the diseases? Who's going to bring the diseases? Powers of darkness. And bitter, there's bitterness in the heart, bitter destruction. They are destruction. When you call up the powers of darkness, you've got to call up destruction, you're calling up all the diseases in a person's body. And the teeth of beasts, that's the same beast, powers of darkness, I will send upon them with a venom, that's the word, poison of calling things to dust, which is a type of scorpions right there, you see, which is the powers of darkness. You follow it? Now, 25, outside the sword shall breathe. Now look at me, folks. It's talking about the curse is going to breathe outside. They're working outside and inside. You hear? I'm going to tell you the curse has come right on down through generations. I mean, when you're cursed, your children are cursed. If you're blessed, your children are blessed. Now, let me just show it to you right there. Outside the sword, that's the curse shall breathe, and inside is going to be terror. Both young man and virgin, and what's that word right there? The nursing, the brand new little baby with a man with a gray hair. Of course, somebody's imagination, you know, in tradition said, well, you know, God wouldn't be that way. Well, let me ask you something. That's the problem of having another God in your mind besides this God of this word. You hear? You start wanting to figure out and have you a Jesus kind of fits your imagination, so you can just kind of work with your flesh and have just build him the way you want him to be. All right. Now, verse 26, I would have said I will cut him to pieces. I'm going to remove the memory of them from men. In other words, you know how he removes people from the earth. He just turns the powers of darkness to come to kill, steal and destroy. And this just flowed as it's like a moth and rotting away. They're destroyed because the person he destroys and he removes them to the earth. And that's how he does it. And just let them continue to be wise in their own eyes as they descend right into hell. Now, that's the judgment of God is left out, and that's why there's no fear of God. Psalm 119, 120 said, my flesh crumbles over the judgments of God. God is a God of love. He is also a God of judgment. You understand? And people who want to build other foundations and nickels, noses, numbers and careers and names and reputations and things like that, they come and pick through the Bible things that's going to tickle people's ears because it's, you know, it's kind of hard to build those things when you're teaching judgment because people, when you're teaching judgment, people don't want anything to do with those things. They have a fear of God and all they want is Jesus. Amen? So you have to pick and choose through the word of God and you're going to take the word of God and use God to build something else. And God lets people's hearts be tested that way. And if that's the way they want to go, he lets them go. Verse 28, for they are a nation lacking in counsel. There is what? No understanding in them. See, when you have a doctrine that does not conform you to godliness in 1 Timothy 6, 3 through 5, you're deprived of the truth and without understanding. Now verse 29, I would that they were wise, only the wise can have understanding about the word, that they understood this, and then they could discern their future. Now, how could one chase a thousand and two put ten thousands of flax? Now that's one powers of darkness, one demon. See, when you're walking in the blessings, you put a thousand or ten thousands of flax. When you're walking in the curses, one of them, a driven leap or whatever, runs you and puts you to flax. You understand what I mean? But unless their rock had sold them. See, they have another rock. They have another Jesus. That's why they're being chased with the powers of darkness. And the Lord had given him up. Now watch very closely when you see somebody's got another Jesus, verse 31. Indeed, their rock is not like our rock, which shows they have a different Jesus than what we've got. Even our enemies themselves judge this. Sure, the enemies judge this because they judge sin and move into them. Now verse 32, for their vine is from the vine of Sodom, that's a whorl, from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are grapes of poison. Now look here, look at me, their fruit, they're bearing poisonous fruit. They're bearing the fruit of the devil. Are you hearing me? It's not the fruit of God. And their clusters are what? Bitter. Now that's what the powers of darkness and the sins of the flesh bring into you, is bitterness. Verse 33. Their wine, that means their teaching. Here's your doctrines to demons. Their teaching is the venom of serpents. That's the doctrines to demons. You see it? And the deadly poison of cobras. Now in verse 35. Vengeance is mine. Retribution in due time, their foot's going to slip. For the day of their calamity is near, and the impending things are hastening upon them. But Babylon doesn't think, she said, no calamity is going to come upon me. Peace, safety, already arrived. For the Lord's going to vindicate his people. I'm going to have compassion on his servants. And when he sees that their what is gone, when they're totally weak and there's nothing left of them right there, you know they're in repentance, he's going to, but who's going to steal the strength? Powers of darkness. You've been having your strength restored, haven't you? Right. And there is none remaining bond and free. And he will say, where are their gods? Where's the Jesus? Where's the Jesus they had in which they took salt refuge? Where's he at? Why isn't he helping them right now? They got the wrong Jesus. That's why the foolish version of life says there's going to come the wise version. Now verse 38. Who ate the fat of their sacrifices, they drank the wine of their libation. Let him rise up and help you. Let them be your hiding place now. See now, I, I am he. There is no God besides me. And if you don't think he's, if he doesn't have control over it all, I want you to listen very closely. It is I who put to death. God said, and if I give life, I can stop them or I can turn them loose. I have wounded. It's the one that may cause that permits sickness to come and that's going to heal you. It just depends on where your heart is and where you want to walk. Amen. Isn't that right? Well, now let's look at verse 41. If I sharpen my flashing sword, that's when he lowers the hedge and my hand takes hold of justice. I'm going to render vengeance on my adversaries. I'm going to repay those who hate me. Now, Lord says, those who pretend obedience to him are the ones who hate him and their time of punishment forever. If you love the deeds of darkness, you will not come to the light. If you don't come to light, it shows you hate God. Those who love me are going to obey my commandments. Is that what Jesus said? So if you don't love, if you don't obey his commandments, obviously you hate him. Is that right? Now, verse 42. I will make my arrows drunk with blood and my sword shall devour flesh. There it is. Turn them loose. That's the cursive and the powers of darkness carry out the cursive with the blood of the slain and the captive from the long-haired leaders of the enemy. That represents rebellion right there. Now in verse 46. He said to them, Take to your heart all the words which I am warning you today, which you shall command your sons to observe carefully, even all the words of this law. Verse 47. For it is not an idle word. God said this is not an idle word. It's not ho-hum God. This is not an idle word. Indeed, it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you are about to cross the Jordan and possess. Now, if you go by the word of God and you cross that Jordan and possess the land, you better not receive this as an idle word. Now quickly in Psalm 106. I'm going to have to get a bowl up here full of glue to turn these pages. I tell you, a new Bible. I got captured without my old one with me now, and I don't believe I will be again. Now, we see them in the wilderness now in verse 3. How blessed are those who keep justice, who practice what? Righteousness. Righteousness at what? Now, you are blessed when you practice righteousness at all times. That's a blessing. Is that correct? And we're going to see the opposite of that too. Verse 4. Remember me, O Lord, in thy favor toward thy people. Visit me with thy salvation. Now, I want you to look in verse 6. We have sinned like our fathers. We have committed iniquity. We have behaved wickedly. Now look in verse 13. They quickly forgot his works. You think any people have forgot the works of the Lord today? They did not wait for his counsel, but they craved. Their hearts craved intensely in the wilderness, or it would be the world today. And they tempted God in the desert. So what did he do? He gave them their request and sent a wasting disease among them. Now look in verse 19. They made a calf and whorled, and they worshiped a molded image. And I want you to know that's going on today. When you have any kind of structure that's got your heart, or doctrine that's got your heart instead of the whole counsel of God, you're bowing down to the image of the beast, just like I explained to you last night. They made a calf and whorled and worshiped a molded image, thus they exchanged their glory for the image of an ox that eats grass. And that's exactly what you see in Romans 1. And then they forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt. Now look in verse 24. Then they despised the pleasant land. Look at me, folks. Here's a pleasant land. When you want to have it free and clear and the image and likeness of Jesus, you despise it. You despise the temple of God. Are you hearing me? You hate it, and you profane it and defile it. So they despised the pleasant land, and they did not believe in his words. See, everything that's here is a type of what's going on today, folks, just like Richard Sheridan. Well, what did they do? They grumbled in their tents. What is a tent? Look here. This is a tent right here. People are grumbling in their tents. Now, they grumbled in their tents, and they wouldn't listen to the word of the Lord. Therefore he swore to them, that he would cast them down in the wilderness. In other words, he's going to let the curse come on them, that he would cast their seed among the nations. In other words, all their children was going to become worldly. He's just going to put them back in the world, and he's going to scatter them in the lands. That's the lands of the world. Now look in verse 35. So they mingle with the world of the nations, and they learn the practices of the world. Isn't that right? Is that today? And then they serve the idols of the world, the nations, which became a snare to them exactly today. They even sacrifice their sons and their daughters to demons. Let me just share something with you, folks. Let me show you how you sacrifice your sons and daughters to demons. You bring them up to be something in this world, to make a name or build treasures or whatever in this world. And you're sacrificing. You turn them over to demons because you're teaching their heart to go to the world, the things of the world. You've turned them over. You try to build their security here in this world rather than in heaven. You've turned your children over to the powers that are in the front row, back row platform. That's what you've done. You teach their heart security. Let me just give you another example of this. Isn't it an interesting thing on the birthday of the Lord Jesus Christ that's celebrated that the world has a fellow that shows up on the birthday of Jesus with a sack full of the world's goods. And you spread them out and you forget about it. And you teach them up and tell them they better be good for this Santa. And they get the world's goods. You change one letter in Santa and you've got Satan. And then you're telling them or teaching them a lie. And then later on, if you taught them this lie, it becomes a curse and a stronghold. And then later on, you say, now, we were teaching about Jesus, a Saint, a Santa. Now, we were just, now let us tell you about Jesus pure, teaches you a lie. And so what kind of curse do you think you put on? What do you think comes into them when you, when you have them to celebrate in their heart for the world's goods and everything? You turn them over to demons. Is that right? That's one of many ways. Folks, listen to me. The powers of darkness talk to you every time you go to buy clothes. Every time you put something on, now I want you to laugh. It's not, see, because we have, it's such pride. They teach you pride in little things. You go buy a trowel and a coat or something like that. And they start working in your mind there, how good and how you look and how these clothes are going to take the place of Jesus. Same thing, you go buy a car. This car is going to take the place of Jesus. It's going to get you through the world. You're going to, you're going to be recognized and you're going to draw attention to yourself. And you're going to be lifted up in your heart. You know, same thing. You've got a house, you know, you want to have a house and, and, uh, it's not, you know, just make an idol out of it. Do you follow what I'm saying? All right, now let's just continue. Uh, so he's going to cast them down. Well, let's see. So verse 37, they sacrifice their sons and daughters to demons. Verse 38, they shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters. And they sacrifice to the idols of the world, Canaan, and the land was polluted with the blood. Verse 39, thus they became what? Unclean in their what? Praxis. And they played the what? Harlots in their deeds and fruit. Now, what is it once again, in 2 Corinthians, uh, 14, 6, uh, it said, do not be unevenly yoked. And then later on, do not touch what is unclean. Now I want to tell you something, folks. Now, let me just explain something. We're all going to the light. No one of us has got all the light. Amen. Now we can walk with somebody that'll go to the light, right? And encourage them, love them, and help them. Although we can find, always, can we always find some, some specks are wrong with them? Well, you can get Satan and I can start looking folks over and I, you know, and everything, but see when you're busy judging and things like that, you don't notice some of the logs you've got. Now, the thing about it, this, this thing of dealing in, in, uh, uh, church dusting and everything is all done in love. So you're, you're really helping a person when you've gone up to show him something is wrong. You're really helping him. Now, wise men have become wiser, but a fool is going to reject it and hate you. And this is reading, it said, you go bring another brother and then you, uh, and if he still resists, you take him before the church and put him outside and treat him as a lost person, a Gentile, if he won't come to the light, see, because the Christian law Jesus has his heart, all of it. Amen. So now when you see somebody coming to the light and you're seeing a heart really turned from everything else, don't be too quick. You know, you, you help somebody, but, uh, I'll, I'll be careful about, uh, how to judge them because God does things in people's life that he don't check with you on. And he said, if you don't mind, he'd like to be the judge. Amen. Is that right? It says a matter of fact, if you don't let him be judge, he'll turn them loose on you. Is that plain? So they become unclean in their practice. So we're not supposed to touch what is unclean. They played the harlot in their deeds. Now in verse 41, then he gave them over the hand of the nations. That's the powers of darkness and those who hated them. What they ruled over them. And that's exactly what we've been saying. Now, verse look in verse 46, if I can get enough stuff going here to turn this page, he also made them objects of compassion in the presence of their captors out and gather from among the nations to give thanks to the Holy name and glory in that praise. Now, is that what we're doing today? Just real briefly and Psalm 107 right there. I want you to see three verses. Look in verse 10. There were those who dwelled in darkness. That's where the powers of darkness carried. You think powers of darkness have caused darkness to come on you? Let me say it again. Do you believe powers of darkness can bring darkness on you? Well, you can't, you're stumbling stagger and you don't know the way. What do you think unclean spirit will do? It'll bring uncleanness to you. It'll bring exactly what God brings to you. Amen? Absolutely. All right. Now, uh, verse 10, there were those who dwelt in darkness and they're in the shadow of what? They're not the present. They're in the presence of death, not in the opposite of that, the presence of the almighty. And they were walking in darkness. You don't get in the presence almighty until you walk in the light. They're prisoners in misery and change. And that's the way you were last night and getting set free from a lot of misery and change. Absolutely. You've been walking in rebellion to God. Now in verse 11, why? Because they have been rebelling against the word of God. Isn't that plain? And they spurned the counsel of the most high. In other words, not one being led by God, being led by many things. Now, verse 17, they're fools because they're rebellious way. And because of their iniquities, this is how folks get afflicted. Well, how do you get healed? Verse 20. Well, verse 19, he, they, they cried out in the Lord and their trouble. Were we doing some repenting last night? And in the next verse, he sent his, he sent Milton and healed them. No, that's not what he said. He said it's word and healing. So the next time your heart starts going out to somebody, I want you to know it's phony as a $3 bill. It's phony as a $3 bill or Jesus did the healing cause no man, I'm going to tell you you just doctors that tell you a good doctor, I tell you that medication or no doctor can heal anyone. But see, you get a bunch of demons working with somebody and they're going to build up a, they build up a reputation of man. So they can use the man to get your heart. They don't want to build a heart that idles in your heart and Lord, let your heart be tested. And if you're not coming to all your heart and soul, he likes you. He loves you to be tested. That's the reason he's got them loose. So if you don't mean business with all your heart and all your soul, you're going to go to hell. I'm not saying that in any hateful, smart, I'm saying what the Bible says. Jesus is not going to be one of your idols. You're lost. Is that plain? That's why we've never seen anything but disorder and every evil thing. I'm telling you, it's been dark since the first century. And I'll tell you what, when you see what's happening, this word of God, don't look around for some of it to fit it in some box somewhere because I'm going to tell you what the church is being put together. And everything that calls itself church is obviously not church. So don't be persuaded by persuasive arguments or what need no approval of men. I, I recommend get the approval of God in all your relationships and everything you do. And see, that's how you take every thought captive and you walk, you walk in peace. You get God's approval. Somebody don't approve of you, get God's approval, how you handle everything. Right? Well, now I want you to turn to Psalm, back to Psalm 74. Now we know that the beast, where's the sanctuary at? Our bodies is a sanctuary, right? Do you know that the powers of darkness roar like a lion? Psalm 74, they do roar like a lion, don't they? All right. Now in Psalm 74, verse one, Oh God, why has thou rejected us forever? Why does thy, what? Anger. Now who's is God's anger? Satan has been turned loose and he smoked, means anger. He's smoking against who? The anger Satan has been turned loose against the sheep of the pastor. Is that right? Are you seeing that? Okay. The hedge is down and he's pleading with him here right now. Remember thy congregation, which thou purchased of old, which thou has redeemed to be the tribe of thy inheritance, the Mount Zion, which is a church where thou has dwelt. Turn thy footsteps toward the perpetual ruins. The enemy, that's the powers of darkness we're going to see, has damaged everything within where? Look at me. Look at me here. They've damaged everything within the sanctuary. Right here, they've damaged everything within the sanctuary. This building is not the sanctuary. They've damaged, and that's what, that's the anger of God. They've damaged everything within the sanctuary and look at the rest of it in verse four. Thy, and an adversary, that's the powers of darkness, they have roared right in the midst of the meeting places. Look at me, folks. They're roaring because they've captured it. In the meeting place, they're destroying people in the sanctuary.
