6:1 friend, (e-10) Or ’neighbour.’ so in ver. 3.

Proverbs 6:3

6:3 thyself, (f-21) Or ‘submit thyself,’ as Psalms 68:30 . with (g-25) A rare strong word implying fierceness – to be moved violently. Translated ’encourage,’ Psalms 138:3 ; ‘overcome,’ Son 6:5 ; ‘insolent,’ Isaiah 3:5 . The insistence would be to get him to discharge the debt at once.
