OƲt of the depths] Being in great distresse and sorrow, he speaketh as one in the depth of some mighty waters overwhelming him, Psalms 42:7. and 69. 1, 2, 14. Jon. 2. 5.
Psalms 130:3
If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities] So as to deal with man in extremitie of justice for his sin, Psalms 143:2.
who shall stand] He declareth, that no man can be just before God, without forgivenesse of sins, Psalms 32:1. Romans 3:23-24.
Psalms 130:4
that thou mayest be feared] If they mercy did not spare sinners, none should live to serve thee, vers. 3.
Psalms 130:5
I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope] Isaiah 8:17. and Isaiah 30:18.
in his word do I hope] Which doth assure me of Gods mercy, and of the pardon of my sins.
Psalms 130:6
more then they that watch for the morning] More then those, that watching abroad in dangerous times, and tedious weather, look frequently after the peep of day, Isaiah 21:12. Psal. 119. 147, 148.
I say, more then they that watch for the morning] Or, which watch unto the morning.
Psalms 130:7
for with the Lord there is mercy] Psalms 86:5. When I shall be assured of Gods mercy, the rest of Gods people may expect it, as I do.
