Exodus 40:20 Summary
In Exodus 40:20, Moses carefully placed the Testimony, which are the Ten Commandments, inside the ark, and then put the mercy seat on top of the ark. This was a special box where God would meet with Moses and the priests, as described in Exodus 25:22. The mercy seat represented God's throne and His presence with His people, and it was a reminder of God's forgiveness and love, as seen in Romans 3:25. By following God's instructions, Moses showed that He valued God's presence and holiness, and we can learn from His example to prioritize our relationship with God and obey His commands.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Testimony mentioned in Exodus 40:20?
The Testimony refers to the two stone tablets containing the Ten Commandments, which were given to Moses by God on Mount Sinai, as recorded in Exodus 31:18 and Deuteronomy 9:10.
