Psalms 25

BSA

1 To You [unto, towards], O LORD [Yehovah, the Lord God], I lift up [raise, exalt] my soul [living being, inner self]; word study 2 in You, my God [Elohim, the one supreme God], I trust [have faith, rely on]. Do not [let it not be] let me be put to shame [be humiliated, disgraced]; do not [let it not be] let my enemies [those who hate or oppose me] exult [rejoice, triumph] over me. word study 3 Surely none [no one, all] who wait [to await, patiently expect] for You will be put to shame [be humiliated, disappointed]; but those who are faithless [deal treacherously, act deceitfully] without cause [empty, without purpose] will be disgraced [shamed, confounded]. word study 4 Show me Your ways [path of life, journey], O LORD [Yehovah, the Lord God]; teach me Your paths [road to righteousness, manner of action]. word study 5 Guide me in Your truth [faithfulness, stability] and teach me [instruct, direct], for You are the God [Elohim, the supreme God] of my salvation [deliverance, rescue]; all day long [every moment, continually] I wait for You [trust, rely on]. word study 6 Remember [to recall, to mark], O LORD [Yehovah, the covenant God], Your compassion [tender mercies, womb of love] and loving devotion [kindness, mercy], for [because, since] they are from age to age [forever, from the earliest times, eternal]. word study 7 Remember [do not recall, forget] not the sins [transgressions, guilt] of my youth [when I was young, in my early years], nor my rebellious acts [transgressions, revolts]; remember me according to Your loving devotion [kindness, mercy, lovingkindness], because of Your goodness [beauty, gladness, righteousness], O LORD [Yehovah]. word study 8 Good [pleasant, beneficial] and upright [just, righteous] is the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God]; therefore He shows [teaches, instructs] sinners [those who have committed a crime or sin] the way [path, road, or manner of life]. word study 9 He guides [leads, directs] the humble [meek, poor in spirit] in what is right [justice, judgment] and teaches [instructs, shows] them His way [path, manner of life]. word study 10 All [every, the entirety of] the LORD’s [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] ways [paths, journeys] are loving [kindness, merciful] and faithful [truth, stability] to those who keep [watch over, guard] His covenant [promise, agreement] and His decrees [testimonies, divine laws]. word study 11 For the sake [because of, in view of] of Your name [Your identity, honor, and character], O LORD [Yehovah, the self-existent God], forgive [pardon, show mercy] my iniquity [moral evil, sin], for [since, because] it is great [abundant, numerous]. word study 12 Who [what man, a person of reverence] is the man [a male person, individual] who fears [has reverence for, is afraid of] the LORD [Yehovah, the supreme God]? He will instruct [teach, show, guide] him in the path [way, journey, manner of life] chosen [selected, preferred] for him. word study 13 His soul [living being, essence of a person] will dwell [to lodge, remain] in prosperity [at ease, with good things], and his descendants [seed, offspring] will inherit [possess, take control of] the land [earth, territory]. word study 14 The LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] confides [shares His secret, has intimate conversation] in those who fear [reverence, respect] Him, and reveals [shows, makes known] His covenant [promise, agreement, treaty] to them [to cause them to know, to give them understanding]. word study 15 My eyes [continually, always looking to] are always on the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], for He [the divine Helper] will free [pluck, rescue] my feet [steps, path] from the mesh [net, trap, snare]. word study 16 Turn [face towards, look to] to me and be gracious [show kindness, have mercy upon me], for I am [in a state of being] lonely [desolate, alone, beloved] and afflicted [troubled, depressed, humble]. word study 17 The troubles [sorrows, distresses, vexations] of my heart [innermost being, mind, will, and emotions] increase [are enlarged, grow wide]; free me [bring me out, rescue me, save me] from my distress [trouble, anguish, tight spot]. word study 18 Consider [look upon, see] my affliction [trouble, misery] and trouble [hard work, pain], and take away [lift, forgive] all [everything, every single one] my sins [guilt, punishment for sin]. word study 19 Consider [look upon, behold] my enemies [those who oppose me, adversaries], for they are many [increased, multiplied], and they hate me with [cruel, violent] vicious hatred [intense dislike, hostility, or injustice]. word study 20 Guard [keep, watch over, protect] my soul [the essence of a person, living being] and deliver [rescue, save, snatch away] me; let me not [in no way, never] be put to shame [be ashamed, disappointed, confounded], for [because, since] I take refuge [seek refuge, trust, flee to] in You [the one who protects, the safe haven]. word study 21 May integrity [moral purity, completeness] and uprightness [doing what is right, moral straightness] preserve me, because I wait [trust, have hope] for You [the one I trust, my confidence]. word study 22 Redeem [to ransom, rescue from trouble] Israel [the descendants of Jacob], O God [Elohim, the one supreme God], from [out of, away from] all [everything, every kind of] its [his, belonging to Israel] distress [troubles, vexations, dearrow]. word study
