Psalms 103
BSA1 Bless [praise, honor] the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], O my soul [living being, essence]; all [everything, the whole of me] that is within me [my innermost being, entrails], bless [praise, extol] His holy [set-apart, sacred] name [identity, character]. word study 2 Bless [praise, honor] the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], O my soul [the essence of my being, my living self], and do not [never, under no circumstances] forget [be oblivious to, mislay] all [everything, every single one] His kind deeds [benefits, recompense, wonderful things He’s done]— word study 3 He who forgives [pardoningly covers, sets free from guilt] all your iniquities [moral evil, sin, wrongdoing] and heals [restores to wholeness, mends completely] all your diseases [sicknesses, infirmities, bodily afflictions], word study 4 who redeems [saves, rescues] your life [existence, being] from the Pit [destruction, grave, corruption] and crowns [surrounds, honors] you with loving devotion [kindness, mercy] and compassion [tender love, pity], word study 5 who satisfies [fills to the full, meets your desire] you with good things [pleasant, beneficial, welfare], so that your youth [young age, strength, vitality] is renewed [made new, restored, rejuvenated] like the eagle’s [strong, agile, soaring]. word study 6 The LORD [Yehovah, the covenant God] executes [to make, does] righteousness [virtue, moral integrity] and justice [judgment, vindication] for all [everything, every person] the oppressed [those treated unfairly, exploited]. word study 7 He made known [revealed, gave knowledge of] His ways [path, manner of action] to Moses [the Israelite leader], His deeds [acts, mighty works, wantonness or great exploits] to the people [sons, descendants, children] of Israel [the symbolic name of Jacob, God’s chosen nation]. word study 8 The LORD [Yehovah, the merciful God] is compassionate [merciful, showing pity] and gracious [kind, full of mercy], slow [patient, not quickly] to anger [wrath], abounding [rich, abundant] in loving devotion [lovingkindness, faithful love, kindness]. word study 9 He will not [never, at no time] always accuse [chide, rebuke] us, nor [neither] harbor [keep, watch over] His anger [wrath, indignation] forever [for all eternity, perpetually]. word study 10 He has not [according to what we deserve] dealt with us according to our [moral failures, crimes] sins or repaid [treated, rewarded] us according to our [evil deeds, wickedness] iniquities. word study 11 For as high [exceedingly, to a great extent] as the heavens [the visible universe, the sky] are above [over, higher than] the earth [the land, the material world], so great [abundant, vast] is His loving devotion [kindness, mercy, loyal love] for those who fear [revere, have awe of] Him [the Almighty, the Creator]. word study 12 As far as the east [the direction of sunrise] is from the west [the direction of the evening sun], so far has He [the Lord, our Savior] removed [taken away, put far off] our transgressions [rebellions, sins] from us [completely, utterly]. word study 13 As a father [loving parent, having pity] has compassion [showing mercy] on his children [sons, descendants], so the LORD [Yehovah, the Lord of mercy] has compassion [pitieth, having mercy] on those who fear [revere, are afraid of] Him [the Lord of all]. word study 14 For [because of this intimate knowledge] He knows [is thoroughly acquainted with, has a deep understanding of] our frame [feeble structure, the way we are made]; He is mindful [remembers, takes into account] that we are [created from, composed of] dust [dry earth, mortal clay]. word study 15 As for man [mortal, human], his days [time on earth, lifespan] are like grass [temporary, fleeting]— he blooms [flourishes, blossoms] like a flower [beautiful, yet fragile] of the field [open, vulnerable]; word study 16 when the wind [a gentle breeze] passes over [crosses, blows upon], it vanishes [is gone, disappears], and its place [location, position] remembers [knows, recognizes] it no more [not at all, nothing remains]. word study 17 But from everlasting [for all eternity, from the very beginning] to everlasting [without end, forevermore] the loving devotion [mercy, kindness] of the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] extends to those who fear [reverence, respect, have awe for] Him, and His righteousness [justice, virtue, moral integrity] to their children’s children [sons and daughters, descendants, posterity]— word study 18 to those who keep [obey, protect, and guard] His covenant [promise, agreement, or treaty] and remember [recall, mark, or call to mind] to obey [follow, or carry out] His precepts [commandments, laws, or statutes]. word study 19 The LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] has established [set up, prepared] His throne [seat of power, authority] in heaven [the abode of God], and His kingdom [royal power, dominion] rules [has power over, reigns] over all [everything, the whole universe]. word study 20 Bless [praise, honor] the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], all His angels [messengers, mighty ones] mighty [strong, powerful] in strength [power] who carry out [fulfill, obey] His word [divine command, decree], who hearken [listen, obey] to the voice [sound, utterance] of His command [instruction, decree]. word study 21 Bless [praise, honor] the LORD [Yehovah, the Lord of Israel], all [everything, every aspect] His hosts [armies, heavenly forces], you servants [ministers, worshipers] who do [carry out, fulfill] His will [pleasure, delight, acceptance]. word study 22 Bless [praise, honor] the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], all [everything, every part] His works [deeds, actions] in all [every] places [locations, regions] of His dominion [rule, kingdom, having control]. Bless [praise, honor] the LORD [Yehovah], O my soul [living being, essence of a person]! word study
