The Bible teaches that God entrusted humans with the care of the earth, as seen in Genesis 2:15, where Adam is placed in the Garden to tend and keep it. According to Genesis 1:28, humans are given dominion over the earth, but this authority is not a license to exploit, as emphasized in Psalms 24:1, which reminds us that the earth belongs to the Lord. The Bible also warns against abusing the environment, as in Jeremiah 2:7, where God laments the defilement of the land, and Nehemiah 9:6, which acknowledges God's creation and provision. Overall, Scripture encourages responsible stewardship of the earth and its resources.

Then the LORD God took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it.
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.”
The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein.
You alone are the LORD. You created the heavens, the highest heavens with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all things, and the host of heaven worships You.
I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and bounty, but you came and defiled My land, and made My inheritance detestable.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth.
A righteous man regards the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are only cruelty.
This is the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon come to pass. He made it known by sending His angel to His servant John,
And when everyone was full, He said to His disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over, so that nothing will be wasted.”
Consider how the lilies grow: They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not be concerned about what you will eat or drink. Do not worry about it. For the Gentiles of the world strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them.
“Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it, the LORD is His name: Call to Me, and I will answer and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and its works will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be destroyed by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, as you anticipate these things, make every effort to be found at peace—spotless and blameless in His sight.
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does. Not so the wicked! For they are like chaff driven off by the wind. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD guards the path of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns—and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise! Amen.
All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man,
