In times of darkness and fear, believers can find comfort in God's presence and protection. According to Proverbs and Psalms, those who trust in God can sleep peacefully, untroubled by nighttime terrors, as Proverbs 3:24 and Psalms 4:8 indicate. Psalms 91:5 also reassures that God will keep us safe from the fear of nighttime, and James 4:7 encourages us to submit to God, resisting the enemy's attempts to unsettle us. With the Spirit of power and love given to us, as mentioned in 2 Timothy 1:7, we can face the night with confidence and courage.

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you rest, your sleep will be sweet.
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.
The fear of the LORD leads to life, that one may rest content, without visitation from harm.
When you walk, they will guide you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.
In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for bread to eat— for He gives sleep to His beloved.
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is the shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the calamity that destroys at noon. Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you. You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD your dwelling— my refuge, the Most High— no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and cobra; you will trample the young lion and serpent. “Because he loves Me, I will deliver him; because he knows My name, I will protect him. When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.
As a dream comes through many cares, so the speech of a fool comes with many words.
