In Scripture, believers are called to intercede for others, lifting their needs and concerns to God in prayer. The apostle Paul instructs the church to offer prayers and petitions for all people, as seen in 1 Timothy 2:1. Jesus Christ, our High Priest, continually intercedes for us, as stated in Hebrews 7:25, demonstrating the importance of this practice. The prophet Ezekiel also highlights the role of intercession, warning of the consequences of failing to warn others of their sin, as in Ezekiel 33:6-7, and lamenting the lack of someone to stand in the gap for the people, as in Ezekiel 22:30-31. Through intercession, we participate in God's work of redemption and restoration.
