The Bible teaches that grandchildren are a precious blessing from God, bringing joy and delight to their families. In Proverbs, it is written that grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and a good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children, as seen in Proverbs 13:22 and 17:6. The Psalms also celebrate the blessing of grandchildren, with Psalms 128:6 expressing the hope that one's children's children will be around one's table, and Psalms 103:17 noting the Lord's love extends to a thousand generations. A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is passed to the righteous.
But from everlasting to everlasting the loving devotion of the LORD extends to those who fear Him, and His righteousness to their children’s children—
Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen, and so that they do not slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and grandchildren.

Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. He will not be put to shame when he confronts the enemies at the gate.
Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Honor the widows who are truly widows. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to show godliness to their own family and repay their parents, for this is pleasing in the sight of God.
